What a great place! Everyone here is as friendly as can be. Their recommendations are personal and genuine and you feel like a friend even your first time visiting. The community around this bookstore is welcoming and creative. You will always meet someone amazing every time you speak to someone new. Lots of great events take place and it’s usually a packed house! 😄

There is Definitely a diverse collection of wall to wall books to peruse through. If you are looking for something specific in the store's collection, I'd suggest you ask as there are only general categories and much overlap. Today's visit brought an interesting conversation regarding the U.S. Federal government by an Afrikaan Amerikan woman who was discussing her role as a parent and teacher of parents in a Federal volunteer employment program that was implemented without the community being ready for the Government being prepared for full implementation of the program. Saw some books I'm interested in... Will find a copy that is not $17.95 however...

Small and focused on identity, social justice, creative writing, USA and regional books, with publishing inhouse also. Exceptional commitment to events at local and international scale. Kind and active, good Oakland location.
