Overall, a pretty mediocre experience considering the location and the price. There is a nice view of the dock and water, however, we were seated at a low table so a big beam was obstructing our view. The tables closer to the windows should all be high-tops.
The food was rather disappointing, again, considering the price. I started with a half-dozen oysters. I was actually given 7 which was nice; I suspect that it was because several of the oysters were on the small side. They were mild in flavor (I was told they were from Texas) but still tasted fresh with a pleasant, silky texture.
The main course was the biggest letdown. My wife and I both ordered the grouper - piccata style. The fish was cooked well but the sauce was underwhelming (which was surprising considering lemon, butter, and capers are all bold flavors by themselves). The rice tasted like it came from a box, and the steamed veggies had no seasoning or salt on them.
Surprisingly, our son’s fried shrimp kids meal was very good. The shrimps were big, plump, and cooked perfectly. The breading was crunchy and well seasoned.
On the plus side, our server was lovely and the food was prepared quickly. I am open to the possibility that this was a one off experience but considering the cost, I don’t know if we’ll come back.
