Every day, my mom and I take a youthful 99-year-old friend of hers out to dinner. Flo loves Eagle House, but they're closed on Sundays. Last week, however, we couldn't meet on a Sunday, so we took her out to lunch on a Tuesday and she, of course, chose Eagle House.
This was my first time eating here, and I really enjoyed it. While I'm sure a good deal of that experience was due to my lunch dates, the atmosphere, the food, and the service were all worth Yelping about.
The restaurant was pretty busy for 2:00 on a Tuesday afternoon. There were only a couple of empty spots in the parking lot, but we did get seated right away. Our table facing Main Street was really lovely. All the seats at the table faced the front of the restaurant, which was quite nice with the falling snow and Christmas decorations outside the window.
Our server was kind and attentive. She was helpful with answering all our questions regarding the menu, too. Flo ordered a cheeseburger over a salad instead of win a bun. My mom had the pecan chicken salad. I also had a cheeseburger over a salad. It was the breakfast cheeseburger with an egg and bacon, and it was really tasty!
Eagle House is a great place for large parties and for intimate dates. I find their menu to be broad enough to suit nearly everyone, and the prices are middle-of-the-ground. For lunch and dessert, it was about $20/person.
Tip: There are some limited parking spots out front, but if you don't get one of them, the walk from the parking lot isn't exactly easy. There are quite a few steps going up to the building from the back parking lot. For most people, that might not be a problem, but for a 99-year-old woman, it's a slow ascent.
