"Eagle Wing Whale & Wildlife Tours last several hours—a worthy commitment in the quest to spot all types of whales (orca, humpback, grey, and minke), with near-guaranteed whale sightings in season and plenty of other wildlife to behold in winter. Boats hold between 12 people (on the smallest vessels) and 50 people (on the largest catamaran), and reservations are required, either by phone or online. Guides are extremely knowledgeable—some staff members are marine biologists and/or naturalists—and they love offering up stories about the abundant marine life." - Liz Humphreys

Eric and I celebrated on Vancouver island by taking the Eagle Wing & Wildlife Tours. Our excursion was off-the-hook thrilling adventure as we had many exhilarating experiences. We spent a great deal of time when three Orca whales were sighted and we witnessed them swim, jump, play, hunt and eat. That’s a first for both of us. We also enjoyed two bald eagle mates, sea lions, seven cormorants on a rock, and much more. Until today we had never seen a ball of spawning herrings just beneath the ocean surface. It was hands down the best part of our entire vacation in Canada! We highly recommend doing this. Thanks to the crew, Sam, Lily, Tilly, Captain Rod, Clint, and Val.

Google
We had an absolutely incredible experience with Eagle Wing Whale Watching Tours! From start to finish, the crew was fantastic—especially with our two young children. They went above and beyond to make sure everyone was comfortable and engaged, sharing fascinating information about the marine life and the local ecosystem. The tour itself was breathtaking! We were lucky enough to see multiple Orcas up close, along with sea lions playing and swimming in the water. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience and worth every penny. The passion and knowledge of the guides made it even more special. If you're considering a whale-watching tour, this is the one to book. Highly recommend!

Google
My first and best whale-watching tour. We went on a large boat with both indoor and outdoor seating. The crew was very friendly and helpful. They were given all the important information to enjoy the tour without any issues, and they were offered blankets, gloves, and hats if we got too cold. A special thanks to Sarah, who saved my hat when it flew away in the wind that day. The sea was calm, and it was a lovely afternoon spent watching whales and spotting other wildlife hidden in the surroundings. At the end of the tour, the crew provided detailed information about the identified whales and their origins. An experience definitely worth repeating, and suitable for all ages.

Google
Eagle Wing Whale and Wildlife crew are knowledgeable and skilled. Our crew was Derick, Natalie, Sam and Clint. We saw more than a dozen Gray Whales, probably a hundred sea lions, many seals and several varieties of birds including bald eagle, cranes and herons. only 51 passengers on the boat which made it easy to get around the boat to quickly be able to catch priceless photos. They have a professional photographer who emails photos to everyone after he has edited them. The boat was very clean and the bathroom was free of unwanted odors. No one on board experienced sea sickness gratefully. It was a chilly day, however, the crew had spare hats, gloves and a blanket which they graciously shared with passengers. We learned a great deal about the local wildlife and the sea life. The entire experience was a 10 out of 10!

Google
GREAT tour! We did the 4 hour tour on the Wild 4 Whales vessel. Very comfortable, smooth ride with indoor and outdoor seating. Crew of 4 with 25 passengers; crew was excellent. Very informative and attentive to our needs. Two heads on board. Happy we chose the larger boat since it was pretty chilly outside and we split our time in and out. Saw too many whales to count, plus lots of other wildlife. Two thumbs up!

Google
What a great tour with this company. Down to earth and very interesting information on the wild life. We were lucky and saw Orcas feeding for a long time. Two humpback wales interacting with the feeding process. The tour was longer then planned due to the seeing. A good and sustainable company also educating kids from around the area. We loved it.

Google
Phenomenal experience! Thorough in their prep for the tour, so many great tips and education. We had the semi-covered boat and it was perfect for a blended experience of the wind on the water and a comfortable spot to relax. There was always someone offering knowledge, stories and facts about the world we were stepping into. We were fortunate enough to get to spend an hour or more watching 4 Humpbacks & 5 Orcas interact with one another! There was an otter and so many sea lions too! It was a peaceful, calm and truly immersive experience that I will never forget!!

Google
We did the sunset cruise and it was perfect. The crew are really knowledgeable and helpful. I don’t have great sea legs so a shorter cruise was wonderful as was the sunset over the ocean. We saw several killer whales and some seals.

Yelp
Worth Every Penny. Polite courteous staff. We saw sea lions, Bald Eagles and beautiful Orcas,

Adriana D.

Yelp
One of the BEST whale watching tours that I have been on, and I have been on many! We did the 6pm sunset cruise this evening, and it was 3.5 hours long... the crew were extremely professional & knowledgeable. The boat was in great shape & clean. We saw SO many orcas and a humpback, and they even took photos that they will be emailing us in a couple of weeks. Highly recommend!! 100/10

Madison D.

Yelp
Absolutely LOVED our tour with Captain Sierra, Jo, Meaghan, and Crystelle!!! We saw sea lions, bald eagles, humpback whales, and ORCAS!! Not just small glimpse, but around 15 fantastic sightings. The beautiful orcas were in a group of around 7. You could tell the all-female crew truly enjoy and love what they do for a living. They were sooo knowledgable, professional, and personable. They had ginger chews to ease nausea of the sea-sick folk, and thick maritime jackets/gloves/beanies for those who needed extra warmth. One of the crew was taking professional photos that they're going to send to everyone which is so fantastic and special. They had a visual board after the tour with a recap. Cannot recommend this enough!!!!

Debbee P.

Yelp
Very knowledgeable and helpful staff. We saw several whales and a bald eagle. I would definitely recommend this company and use them again on a future trip.

Yelp
We did an open speedboat whale watching trip out of victoria and it was so awesome! Were able to see sea lions and a group of about 10 orcas off of the San Juan islands. Apparently this tour company is one of the few that has boats fast enough to get all the way out to the San Juan Islands, which is where there are some orcas that stay there year round. Carol, the woman who was telling us all about the orcas, was extremely knowledgeable, and the crew was very respectful about keeping their distance from the whales. They were very strict about staying 200m away from the orcas (which is apparently the rule), though some of the other whale watching groups seemed to get closer to them. Luckily Carol did take a bunch of pics with her fancy long range camera, and she said she emails them out after 1-2 weeks. No one got sea sick in our group, sea was reasonably calm. Apparently it's calm unless the wind picks up, and it wasn't terribly windy the day we went. They provide you with warm jackets/ski type pants which are key to stay warm on the long boat ride--it took about an hour to get out to the islands. Would def recommend this company!

Lukass M.

Yelp
Had an amazing whale watching tour today. Pete the captain was so nice and friendly, he made everyone laugh and was had so much interesting information about all the marine life. We saw a couple pods of killer whales and some humpbacks! Riley also was very kind and knowledgeable about all the whales and their names. Absolutely would recommend if you're in Victoria and want to see whales, go with Eagle Wing!

Kristin C.

Yelp
Five stars + Ease of booking, information given prior to arrival, safety briefing, incredibly knowledgeable staff on board, sea life so close, gorgeous pictures..... This was a bucket list item for me and I'm thrilled we chose Eagle Wing

Yelp
A Majestic Encounter with Whales and Nature's Beauty! Rating: I recently embarked on a whale watching adventure that left me in awe of the magnificence of the ocean's gentle giants. From the moment we set sail to the last sighting, every aspect of this experience was absolutely phenomenal, earning it a well-deserved five-star rating! Our luck was truly extraordinary as we had the privilege of witnessing nature's spectacle. A pod of orcas gracefully danced through the waves, while around 15 humpback whales put on an unforgettable show. The sight of these majestic creatures, accompanied by the stellar sea lion and harbor seal, left us in awe of the wonders that reside beneath the surface. The crew onboard the tour was exceptional in every way. They were not only informative and professional but also infused the journey with entertainment that kept us engaged throughout. Their extensive knowledge of marine life and the local ecosystem added a deeper appreciation to the experience, leaving us with a newfound understanding of these incredible creatures. Opting for the sunset tour proved to be an excellent decision. As the golden hues of the sun painted the sky, the surrounding scenery became a picturesque masterpiece. The combination of the breathtaking sunset and the awe-inspiring whales created a mesmerizing ambiance that will forever be etched in my memory. The smoothness of the ride made the entire journey comfortable and enjoyable. The captain's expertise in navigating the waters was evident, as they knew exactly where to take us for the best possible sightings. It was a testament to their skill and experience, ensuring that we never missed a moment of the marine marvels before us. One of the notable aspects of this tour was the thoughtful provision of warm attire. While the air may have been chilly, the tour organizers made sure that we were well-prepared and cozy, allowing us to fully embrace the experience without any discomfort. The beauty of the water surrounding us was simply breathtaking. The crystal-clear waves shimmered in the sunlight, showcasing nature's artistic brilliance. Witnessing the whales in their natural habitat, surrounded by such pristine beauty, was a humbling and awe-inspiring experience that will stay with me forever. In summary, this whale watching experience exceeded all expectations. The combination of remarkable sightings, informative and entertaining crew, stunning sunset views, smooth sailing, and thoughtful provisions created a truly unforgettable adventure. If you're seeking a chance to connect with nature's wonders and witness the awe-inspiring presence of whales, look no further. This tour will leave you speechless and filled with an appreciation for the marvels of the deep blue sea.

Yelp
We visited Victoria for spring break and decided to go Whale Watching as one of our activities. Our resort recommended Eagle Wing and we weren't disappointed. We went out for the afternoon tour on March 29th. The sun was out and the weather was amazing. The staff were also equally warm and bright. They were very friendly and super knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. I had been whale watching one other time in Alaska and saw some humpback whales. Was really hoping to see Orca on this trip and see them we did. We followed the pod about 45min before going over to Speiden Island to see more exotic wildlife. It was the highlight of our trip and we highly recommend Eagle Wing tours. To top it off, they emailed some professional highlight photos of our tour for free.

Irene F.

Yelp
Great experience. The staff is very knowledgeable about whales & marine life. Jane, our mane host, described details in full of wildlife traits that made the tour more interesting. And we saw so many whales!

Kim S.

Yelp
We booked a morning whale watching tour 8/16. The weather was supreme, water smooth. We booked at the Victoria Information Center. They gave us complimentary tokens for the water ferry. Checkin was so easy and friendly. We decided on the larger Catamaran boat because it was SO sunny, and the Catamaran provided a way to get some shade and also you can walk around the boat during your tour: front, back, sides. There were three naturalists on board, and they were all very excellent, answered questions, provided information and good to know data about the things we were seeing and things they had seen in the past and what we might see. Clean boat. My brother-in-law forgot his jacket and it really does get cool on the boat. They have extra sock hats, gloves, and jackets and they wash them after people use them so they're always clean. We saw orcas (two different pods), a minke whale, harbor seals, spectra seals. Almost too many to remember! Luckily when you leave the boat they have it all written down, including where you traveled!

Yelp
My wife and I joined a tour yesterday and were amazed by our trip. We saw a super group, whose members spread out for miles from the boat. Dozens were near us and at times almost touching us. The boat received blow hole spray multiple times. Important- the competition stopped 30 minutes before we did. There were multiple boats in the area and they stopped when they saw a whale or two and turned around. We powered on at 30+mph and saw the amazing group they could have but did not. The staff was great and the catamaran worked well for my wife who is in a wheel chair and could see very well from the deck on the back of the boat. Awesome experience.

Joe T.

Yelp
This tour was everything we hoped it would be from start to finish. The folks on the boat were amazing with insight into the behavior of the whales, how they communicate etc. We also saw our first pod a mere 10 minutes away from the dock! We knew it was gonna be a great day when that happened. We came for all over for this amazing adventure; Florida and a couple from Australia. Your team did not disappoint. Can't want to come back and do it again! Thanks for an amazing experience.

Susan C.

Yelp
Crew Natalie and Derek were amazing. The accessibility for a manual wheelchair does take a bit of work due to the steep ramps down to the dock, but getting on the boat was a simple ramp and the seating was more than enough to see the whales. Would take another tour with them!

Janet S.

Yelp
An amazing trip with perfect crew. Informative, friendly and literally went extra miles so we could see two groups of orcas. Highly recommend. The heated cabin was a must for the cold clear day.

Jennifer D.

Yelp
This tour is excellent and everyone who works for them is extremely knowledgeable, professional and kind. They know so much about each species we saw and could answer all our questions especially Lily. The boat is in excellent condition and there are two washrooms aboard. I will definitely book with them again!

Teresa K.

Yelp
Awesome Tour! The staff was wonderful; they were knowledgeable, helpful, and thoughtful. Well done Eagle Wing!

Dylan D.

Yelp
I can't say enough good things about Eagle Wing Tours. The team on board makes the trip so exciting. Had the privilege of riding with Logan, Izzy, and a few other crew members. They were all so knowledgeable and passionate about the Salish Sea wildlife. They were able to answer every question with great detail. The staff really makes the trip worth every penny. Thank you again Eagle Wing!

Harry C.

Yelp
We had a very nice crew. The sound system was not good, so we could not hear all of the information that was being shared. We only saw two humpbacks and one orca. Whales are not predictableI., but I always enjoy a boat ride so it was fine.

Mike M.

Yelp
The best part of the vacation so far. Not cheap, but a guaranteed thrill. You can bring your own warm clothes but they will also provide pants, jackets, sunglasses hats and gloves. On a hot day, they are still needed....I promise. The boats are very fast so you can go a lot farther from shore and see more things. Pete was our guide and he was passionate, informative, friendly and was cocky as hell. He was good at finding whales and proved it. The sunset cruise was three hours of fun and adventure. Great pictures and a ton of fun.

Chris T.

Yelp
Whale watching with this company was outstanding. Their safety standards were superb and the level of knowledge from their onboard naturalists was outstanding. The Captain found a large Pod of Killer whales for us to watch for sometime and we also saw a Minke what as well as a Humpback. Wonderful day on the water!

Ayelet S.

Yelp
Amazing crew, professional, knowledgeable, passionate and welcoming. Great experience. Worth every penny and more.

Dennis C.

Yelp
Excellent and highly recommended. The first point of contact was on the phone with Sydney who was very polite and informative. She took our reservation on the phone and we paid with credit card-simple and painless. Once we arrived the briefing was given and clean hats/gloves/pants/jackets were sized and passed out. Our captain Peter was terrific!! Very informative and knowledgeable about everything we threw at him. The boat, the area, the seas, weather, animals, trees, of course whales! He took many steps in running around to find a humpback whale. In fact many of the other tour groups left the area and when we lucked out by seeing a whale (sorry no pictures since I took a video). We then went to an area to see eagles, seals. His enthusiasm was WOW! This company culture is also committed to the environment and safety to all guests! The entire experience was very good! And considering this is our third whale watching expedition we have taken, we are not rookies in providing this review. And this tour ranked at the top!! If you want to do whale watching in Victoria don't look elsewhere!

Matt U.

Yelp
I'll admit that when we showed up, my expectations were a bit low. We've been on plenty of excursions and it's rare that they live up to the lofty expectations. Stepping off the boat 3 hours later, it has lived up to the hype! We got to the wharf about 20 minutes before the boat left. A nice perk was that they picked us up from the hotel - it was only about 5 minutes from downtown but it was a nice nonetheless. Once there we had about 15 minutes to burn. A number of the businesses in the area offered a 10% discount for people in the tour, so we went and grabbed coffee. Quick jaunt up a ramp and caffeinated we went! The trip varies from 3-4 hours depending on what you see and where. We got super lucky and saw some beautiful animals almost right away! Over the time we saw a couple types of Orcas, Humpback whales, Harbor seals, a Steller Sea Lion, Elephant Seals and a couple Eagles. It was seriously as good as we could have hoped for! The water was calm and the boat very comfortable. It's pretty chilly on the water so consider wearing pants and bringing a light jacket. Inside the boat there was indoor and outdoor seating for roughly 55 people total. They provided coats, hats and mittens for everyone who wanted them. Snacks and beverages were available for $2 each. There were 4 or 5 naturalists on the boat who kept us up on everything that was going on and gave great information about the species we were viewing. In addition to the sea life, the views of Mt. Baker, the Olympic Mountains, a number of islands and the coast were spectacular! On a nice days, there's no where better than the NW and being on the water elevates it. This tour blew us away! The whole thing was spectacular and really surpassed our expectations - Keep up the great work!

Karen A.

Yelp
Eagle Wing Tours is a must on your to do list when visiting Victoria! I always go on the sunset tour with the open boat. You leave at 6:00pm and return around 9:00pm. I've been out on the water with Peter three times and each trip has been exciting and educational. The last trip I inquired about the island with the teepees and they took us back that way just so I could see it! Bonus...we also got to see a bunch of Harbor Seals and an Eagle. Eagle Wing Tours will keep you warm, safe and fill you up with hot chocolate upon returning to the dock!

Jen L.

Yelp
This company is located inside Fisherman's wharf off Dallas Rd. With your badge you get a 15% discount with the local shops. In doing my research for Whale Watching Tours, they were the cheapest for a boat that holds over 20 people, 2 bathrooms, balcony area in the front of the boat, and sitting area in the back of the boat. They had a 5 man crew, and each person has some Naturalist experience. Binoculars, gloves, and jackets were available. They even had a hot beverage at the end of our trip. Our tour lasted over 3 hours and they made sure we saw Whales. We only saw one, but it was an incredible experience. We also saw sea lions, a Bald Eagle, and the island preserve. I would suggest them for anyone who goes to Victoria, and wants to see marine life.

Jessie T.

Yelp
What a great company- family owned and operated. Super knowledgeable and over the top kind. They provided jackets, gloves and the best location to capture the Amazing Whales! Kerrick and Elise were friendly, helpful, smiley and passionate about the oceans habitat. I am glad that we stumbled upon them - thanks for the wonderful experience. Eagle Wing

Shondra M.

Yelp
I don't think this experience could've been any better!! We were on the last tour of the day. They provide everyone with pants, a jacket, hat, and gloves (You'll definitely want to take them!) before getting everyone onboard. Our guide was absolutely fantastic and did a great job of finding a large pod of Orcas right off the bat. He had so many interesting facts and stories to tell us as we followed the pod around, which eventually nerves with a second pod. After that we zipped off to see 2 humpback whales doing tail flops! It was so impressive! We finished off the tour seeing sea lions and other wildlife before heading back to the dock as the sun was going down. To say we had a blast would be a huge understatement! I can't recommend Eagle Wing Tours enough!

Kevin V.

Yelp
Wonderful whale watch trip! Staff was very friendly and helpful, dispatching interesting information throughout the trip that made the 3+ hour trip go by very quickly! Saw multiple whales and orcas along the way as well as various seals and sea lions. Highly recommended!

Lois C.

Yelp
Humpback Whales as far as the eye could see! We took the calmer catamaran version of the tour as my sister & I are prone to seasickness. It was the perfect choice coupled with our Transderm-V patches behind the ears. The seas were calm & the boat helped keep us steady too. The whales were amazing. We saw some orcas on the way out to our main spot & once we arrived out where we were headed there were more humpback whales than I could count. They were in every direction. I will never forget this day.

David N.

Yelp
Found this tour company on Yelp and decided to go on it based on the extremely good reviews. Yelp once again does not let us down! We did a "sunset" tour, meaning we left at 7:30pm and stayed out until the sun went down (around 9:30-10:00pm) and then came back into the harbour in time to have a great view of the inner harbour lights. The boat was really nice and the staff knowledgeable and helpful. We encountered a humpback within the first 15 minutes and then got to spend over an hour watching a pod of orcas! The ship had everything we needed, including warm jackets and gloves Great experience, well run tour, easy to see why this rating is well deserved!

Tavion C.

Yelp
Honestly the worst service I've ever had to deal with. Not only were the rude but they weren't able to do their job and able to count and make sure they had every passenger had their wrist bands and safety.

Deb F.

Yelp
I researched different whale watching companies before our trip and decided on Eagle Wing even though their tours cost a little bit more. Now that we went on the trip, I can say it was totally worth every penny. Derek and Jeff were our guides and they were incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. They guarantee that you will see whales on the tour, and if for some reason you don't, you can keep going back on their tours until you do. We asked how often they didn't see them and said about 2% of the time. That's pretty good. They know the spots where the resident orcas hang out at different times of the day, and were on the radio to various other boats, all sharing tips on where the whales are. We saw the J and K pods all sort of mixing together. Dozens and dozens of orcas! We saw them doing spy hops, a few breaches, some tail slapping, and they put the hydrophone into the water and we heard them vocalizing a number of times. So much fun! We also saw a couple bald eagles, and on the way back, one was flying alongside the boat just a few yards away. Unreal! We took their larger boat (the Gold Wing) that seats 26 people. It was a good size, still plenty of room to move around and see, and heavy enough that we weren't getting tossed around too badly in the choppy areas. The wild ride part was especially fun for our son (age 12) - right after you get out of Victoria Harbor, things are pretty rough out there until you round the corner and get into smoother waters. Both the ride out and back were like roller coaster rides in this section, and yeah, you do get a bit wet. Luckily, they suit you up with waterproof pants, jackets, gloves, and give you hats and sunglasses/sunscreen should you need it. We were out there for at least 3.5 hours, which is a bit longer than many other tours. One of the other tours was going out when we were, and they were in a Zodiac boat, and I could see the passengers turning green in the choppy parts. Glad we weren't on that boat!! See, the little bit extra you pay is worth it in the long run. Go see the whales with Eagle Wing - you'll be glad you did!

Mark S.

Yelp
Wow, what an amazing experience. Killer whales, eagles, harbor seals and even a wild wolf. From start to finish, the team at Eagle Wing tours were friendly, professional, informative and funny. We were looking for a whale watching tour that wasn't coordinated by our cruise company. We found them on Yelp and were pleasantly surprised how easy it was to book the tour (at about half the cost of what the cruise company was charging). Pete and Sydney, our guides, were amazing. They were eager to answer questions and share their passion for the wildlife we were viewing. They clearly care about creating a great experience for their customers while respecting the animals we were viewing. I wish I could give ten stars vs just five.

Deez N.

Yelp
Fantastic journey searching for whales. Our guide was funny, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He went out of his way to find Pod 100 and provided us with valuable information regarding history of orcas. We will definitely take another trip sometime soon.

Cynthia B.

Yelp
Our hotel recommended Eagle Wings Whale Tours because of the quality of their boats and their naturalists. Although we didn't see as many whales as we had in the Gulf of Mexico and the whales we did witness were quite far away, we weren't disappointed. Because it was raining when we booked, we chose the boat that also has a covered seating area. The sun shone for a brief minute and we were able to sit outside as well. At a distance, a family of eight orcas swam together, including the 9 month-old white baby. The family shadowed a large humpback but evidently weren't hungry as they didn't attack. We were told that seeing the two species together is fairly rare. We also rode alongside a large 41-year old male orca whose mother had died. In the whale kingdom, the females are the rulers. They determine the hunts and train their young. Males stay with their mothers for their entire lives (True momma boys) The on-board naturalists were a wealth of information about whales, dolphins, and seals. Since they go out three or more times a day, they know the majority of the whales in the water very well and share stories about the antics of various families. Even if it's sunny, it gets REALLY cold out on the sea. Dress in many layers, bring a warm coat, gloves, and scarf. The boat does have a supply of extra coats, gloves, and hats for those who need them. Don't forget your sunscreen, sunglasses, and ginger in case you get seasick. The swells get big, especially when a freighter or ferry passes. This company promises that guests will see whales and their trip can be 4 hours to accommodate that promise. We tried to get photos, but it's best to watch the sea instead of a lens unless you have telephoto. We also saw a beautiful rainbow over the male sea lion playground at Race Rocks Ecological Reserve, Metchosin, where the lighthouse is. The males prowl and growl, as only the largest gets the girl! Once you've been on one of these trips, you'll have a renewed appreciation and admiration for these beautiful, intelligent creatures living in the wild. Please don't support the capture or training of whales for entertainment.

Krista K.

Yelp
We were on a cruise ship and only had a short time in Victoria. We found Eaglewing tours on a whim while in Fisherman's Wharf. We REALLY wanted to see orcas, and they did not disappoint!!! They took us right to where the J Pod was feeding. We saw them surface, spout, breech and wave! The crew (Elise and Kerrick) and captain/owner (Brett) were very knowledgeable and you could tell they truly care about the animals. The boat was very nice and they provided jackets and hats and gloves, so that was a perk! We learned a lot and had such an amazing experience!

Stephen W.

Yelp
I took my second whale watching trip with Eagle Wing Tours this past weekend, and once again, they proved themselves to be the best way to see whales and other wildlife while in Victoria. The boat captains/guides are excellent. Not only do they know where to find the whales, they are also very well educated on the local wildlife and natural conditions and love sharing this information. If you are a photographer, the captains are also very skilled at positioning the boat to give you the optimal photo opportunities. While they may be more expensive than some of their competitors, I believe that Eagle Wing's combination of well-informed guides and high-speed boats actually delivers more bang for your buck. Because the boats are so fast, you don't waste valuable tour time getting to and from the prime whale watching areas, and the drivers are able to quickly respond to new information coming in over the radio to get you where the whales are. I unreservedly recommend Eagle Wing Whale Watching Tours.

Marcus K.

Yelp
These guys are absolutely amazing. Brett and Jeff certainly work it well. My partner and I were in the Victoria area on holidays and we enjoyed Eagle Wings soo much we did three seperate tours. Each time a different experience from the last, and honestly just got better. The first trip we went out on the catamaran with a larger group and spotted heaps of hump back whales. At one point one of them swam very close to the bow of the boat. Got lots of lovely photography and video footage! The second time Brett took us out on the speed boat they called the "Eagle Wing". He took us out to where the Turn Point Lighthouse is as a pod of southern resident killer whales were spotted. Once we were there it was very quick for them to appear and for all the action to start. The Orcas were swimming in pack in a straight line, and Brett described what they were doing was "relaxing" as killer whales are active 24 hours and don't sleep, and basically go into relaxation modes where they'll constantly surface to take in air and just swim. He was very informative and gave a lot of detail on the actions and activity of what the whales were doing and did. Brett also said that day was the first time that amount of resident whales were seen together since late the year before!! The third time we went out we took the same boat, and was accompanied by Jeff. We headed north again to spot killer whales, and incredibly enough were stopped by a sighting of a transient group not far from Victoria. One thing about this was we were the first on the scene, so it was basically "breaking news". So after Jeff sent out the information to the other tour groups, and before they all pulled up, we were able to have our own special exclusive look at these killer whales doing what they do best. Jeff described their activities as hunting for food. So quite frequently we were displayed with lots of spy hopping, breaching, tail flipping as they showed lots of joy after their feed catches. It was very exciting to watch and just amazing!! Once again Jeff was very informative with any actions and interactions the whales would do during the tour, and did a great job in talking about some basic knowledge on the way killer whales live their lives with each other and other sea life. After the three tours we did we walked away feeling more than satisfied with our experience with Eagle Wings Tours. Like I said each tour was different from other, but each was just as amazing and exciting as the last. The shore staff are really friendly, and were very welcoming with our return each time. Brett and Jeff did very well in ensuring their tour groups not only got what they paid for, but also made it a fun, welcoming and exciting experience for everyone. Thanks heaps guys!!!

Yelp
Best whale watching tour company in Victoria! They were very friendly and accommodating the whole trip. They provided everything to keep you nice and warm the whole trip as well which was super awesome! I definitely recommend the open boat as it's fast and super fun! The tour guide and driver were both very knowledgeable as well so it was an overall great experience. Best part was that they got closer to the whale than any of the other boats did, so great job!

Yelp
Just finished a whale watching tour with EagleWing. A great experience. They outfit you completely. And trust me. No matter how warm it is at the pier take the coat, gloves, hat and pants. It's COLD out there. Our captain, Rod, was fantastic. We saw many Orcas and Humpbacks and were out there a solid 3 hours. Enough pictures to fill an iPhone. Rod was enthusiastic, knowledgable and very passionate about the sea life. You could tell he really cared and it came through in his discussions. Boat was clean and comfortable and quiet. Everything went smoothly. This is a professional organization who knows what they are doing. Top notch.

Yelp
Awesome tour! The staff is great. They share a ton of information which makes the trip even better. We took the catamaran which is a half open and half closed boat. You can ride inside seated on comfy leather seats or outside and enjoy the view. They provide gloves, glasses, hats, jackets (for kids and adults) and everything you might need to make the trip more comfortable. We were able to see two adult bald eagles and a juvenile. Then we saw a sea otter, seals, elephant seals, and spend a lot of time with two humpback whales that came close to the boat several times.

Yelp
We were originally a party of 5, but 2 of us had to drop out to care for our sick dog. Although we cancelled same day and they were supposed to not give us a refund, they made an exception without being asked, resold the two spots and gave us a full refund. So nice of them! Our friends who went had a fantastic time, seeing lots of orcas, whales, dolphins and otters.

Yelp
This was an excellent tour. The crew was informative, kind, and well-planed. Its an easy process and they do a great job of keeping things organized. They go over where the whales have been seen lately, their plan for your trip, the boat's layout, and the safety aboard. Chris was our Captain and Karac and Corrine, I believe, were our Naturalists. We saw sea lions, elephant seals, and sea otters at Race Rock. We saw humpback whales, which were amazing. One humpback whale that decided to come right up to our boat, swam under the boat and then swam off with a rainbow in the background. It was stunning. We also saw quite a few orcas for a while. One of the most memorable things was actually a swarm of seagulls that was sitting on the water and then began to fly all around us. It was breathtaking. They did a great job at scoping things out and positioning the boat. Karac was extremely informative and educated. The only thing I would change is to give the patrons a little bit of "quiet time". The crew was talking non-stop, and I am not trying to be rude when I say that because I really loved the information provided. However, sometimes you just want to listen to the ocean, the otters, the wind, breathe it all in and get some good videos or photos. So, every now and then I would advise giving 10 minutes here and there for folks to do that. Would definitely go back!

Yelp
Eagle Wing Tours is a must do on your visit to Victoria. There are many different whale watching tours and this one is at Fisherman's Wharf, which is a ~30 minute walk from the Inner Harbour (where the Clipper docks), but it's worth it. We took the Wild 4 Whales boat at 9:30 am. It is their biggest boat and has indoor and outdoor space. I loved sitting on the inside because there were some waves on the way out that splashed onto the outside seats. They also have pretty nice bathrooms on board and snacks and drinks for sale. They also provided warm jackets in many sizes and gloves and hats for a cold day. It did get a little chilly and we both put on their jackets which were very clean and well-maintained. The tour guides were wonderful! Really exceeded expectations. They were so knowledgable about whales and we learned so much. I would definitely recommend!

Yelp
Following a business trip to Seattle my wife and I decided to spend the weekend in Victoria, Canada. While checking into our hotel we spoke with the concierge about local activities and she highly recommend EWT. Folks, this is the real deal! We selected the open/closed Catamaran and from start to finish it was one of the most memorable experiences we have ever had with natures natural environments. The captain, the crew, service, amenities, equipment and facilities are all top notch and well worth the few extra dollars. In fact this Team of experts cared so much for the environment and its wonderful inhabitants that we turned around to pick up a lost glove floating on the ocean surface! The sea was calm, the weather was great and we were blessed to see a multitude of Orca's and Humpback Whales! There was even a Humpback that came up to the front of the boat, dived below and surfaced on the aft! Absolutely incredible!! EWT, we will be back! Thank you! DG & IZ Phoenix, AZ

Yelp
Going out on my first Whale Watching Expedition, I chose Eagles Nest because of all the good reviews on Yelp. Went out on Easter 2017 and absolutely enjoyed the whole experience. Chris, Dale & Sydney were all great to be on board with and even shared a few tears of joy with Sydney seeing the California Transit Whales. I will never forget this awesome experience and I thank you all for making my soul glow:) I will be back on board!
