22 Landmark Cantonese Restaurants to Savor in Los Angeles

"Cantonese cheung fun (steamed rice roll) is a common snack and dim sum must-order. Typically, the rolls are filled with shrimp, pork, beef, fish, or veggies and topped with a sweet soy sauce. The version at E&J Yummy has a bunched-up texture from the scraping motion used to make them. Diners can choose to add an egg topping to the steamed rice roll, which brings all the flavors together. Top it off with some chile sauce." - Kristie Hang

Google
Cash only. Rice noodles were done well - thin, fresh made, good amount of toppings. I found the sauce slightly saltier than I usually like but salt is a subjective thing and I tend to eat on the blander side. Noodle soup was good as well. No frills, authentic spot. It's not fancy but it gets the job done and I ate everything (2 orders of rice noodles, noodle soup, and 1 honey lemon tea).

Google
Cash only spot! We came for the rice noodle rolls and we were not disappointed. $5.50 gets you a pretty large plate of rice noodle rolls (cheung fun). We got the pork and beef options and were blown away. The drinks are a tad bit watered down.

Google
saw this restaurant online when I Google cherng fun (Chinese rice roll) and it was in my 'back yard' so I thought to give it a try. always willing to discover a new hidden treasure. unfortunately, the rice rolls weren't living up to the reviews. even paying extra for more shrimp and cha sui, the shrimp rolls and the cha sui rolls were small and unexciting. not worth the price hence the 2 star review.

Simon Lau

Google
First time customer. The owner here was very nice. I ordered several (rice sheets) chang funs as well as the beef chow mein with black bean sauce. Everything was individually packed with the sauce and noodles separate. They are cash only and the price is extremely reasonable. $3.75 each for the chang fun and $10.25 for the chow mein. Parking shared with other retail stores.

Google
Incredible authentic Chinese food - been here several times and they're very consistent. The combination LO main was astounding - good beef stew flavor, tender meat. The porridge is always on point - homey, comforting and good flavor. Highly recommend if in the area. Reminder: cash only (or zelle)

Google
This place has very good Rice Noodle Roll in this area because it uses traditional Guangzhou Style to steam their Rice Noodle Roll. Also, I love their Beef Tripe and Porridge because it is delicious and not heavy in my opinion. In addition, it is not very expensive compared to other restaurant for their lunch or dinner. However, this place is small so sometimes people has to wait for their seat, and the parking is also not enough especially at the weekend. Also, their services sometimes is slow but overall I do believe is fine. Therefore, it is the place for breakfast or lunch, and I recommend come here early or after peak lunch time to eat steam Rice Noodle Roll or Porridge here.

Google
Not many options out there for Cantonese 拉肠. This is my must visit in LA.

Google
Went in yesterday and ordered seafood chow mein it was delicious so worth it reminded me of the food I had when I was a kid definitely will be going back.

Yelp
The food here is so top tier!! The softest best textured rice noodle I've had. And it comes with a decent amount of shrimp. My favorite part about this is how affordable it is!! Definitely a locals spot. I also had the congee that was really good and a large portion. The service here is the best they can do because it's only one person working while another is in the kitchen! So you have to keep that in mind when thinking how can they keep their prices so low. Overall delicious and i will probably come back here often

Yelp
This restaurant shows a disregard for customers' health by serving hot coffee in a plastic to-go cup with a straw. Plastic cups are intended for iced beverages, not hot ones. The thin plastic can potentially melt, posing a health risk.

Yelp
This place came highly recommended as a place with great rice noodle rolls. But I found it to be quite lacking. It's a tiny shop with little fan fare, theres not much in the way of decorations or anything. But in any event thats not why you're there anyway. you're there to try to their HK style rice and noodle dishes and especially their rice noodle rolls. FOr $6.50 a roll, the portions are extremely small and theres not much filling to go with your roll. We ordered the shrimp one and the bbq pork one, but all of that was rather skimpy, even the rice noodle sheets itself were skimpy. You get a larger order from the dim sum carts. Maybe it was an off day, but everything we ate there was just lackluster. I believe the rolls are usually $5.50 but it was like a dollar extra to add the egg, I didn't find that adding the egg made any difference to it? YMMV I could be persuaded to try it again, but it was pretty blah tbh.

Yelp
Stopped by this place after we went to delicious food corner and couldn't find a parking spot. I've been to my fair share of Hong Kong cafe restaurants. The experience here was bad. There was little to no service. When we walked inside the restaurant, there was no greeting. We dined in and sat down at a table. Menus were being given to us with no word. No "hello" We ordered green onion pancake, fried potstickers, 豬肉腸粉加蛋 and the soy sauce noodles. When the food arrived, we were in shock they were still using styrofoam plates and utensils. Food did not look appetizing and the soy sauce noodles were not crispy like delicious food corner. The green onion pancake looks like the frozen kind you can get at 99 ranch market. It was chewy but only gave a few pieces on a super tiny plate. For the portion, it did not meet the expectations compared to the price we paid. I believe it was $5-$6 for a small plate of onion pancake. I would not come back again.
google avatar

Ann Q.

Yelp
CASH ONLY! This place is super tiny and run by husband and wife. Looks like they had to bring their daughter/grand daughter to work today. With that said, it's understandable for service to be slow since it's only then. Yes they use styrofoam plates to serve for dine in. If you are offended by the waste, go somewhere else! It's probably a cost savings decision for the owners not to hire a dishwasher. The rice noodle rolls were evening I thought they were gonna be. Personally I prefer the shrimp over the BBQ pork. Could be better if they added like yellow chives or something but still yummy. Price has gone up within the last couple years.

Yelp
My husband and I have only ordered takeout from E&J Yummy Kitchen but this place has definitely become our go-to restaurant whenever we are craving porridge. The're generous with the portion and the price is so good. Here are the dishes that I would highly recommend for anyone that wants to give them a try: -Salted Pork and Preserved Egg Porridge -Wonton Soup -Five Spice Beef Tripe Noodle Soup -Beef Chow Fun -Yang Chou Fried Rice They're a cash-only restaurant, but they do accept Zelle which makes it more convenient for people like me who never carry cash.

Yelp
I'll just leave a picture of the shrimp noodle roll on here and you can be the judge as to why I gave this place 1 star. It looks how it tastes.

Yelp
Elizabeth's Star Rating System 1 star = Terrible, would not recommend, will tell family and friends to avoid 2 stars = I won't be back but you might enjoy it 3 stars = I'll be back eventually 4 stars = I'll definitely be back 5 stars = I'm telling my friends and family about this place! E&J makes the best Cantonese style rice rolls! My favorite is the shrimp and I always add an egg. Their pork rice roll and porridges are good too. Their Beef Stew is so good too. I always ask for more sauce simple, home-style food. Their lemon ice tea reminds me so much of Hong Kong, down to the size. Americans may think it is too small but this is the norm outside of the US. I've been a loyal fan for years since this little HK Café opened, highly recommend. P.S. Yelp is wrong on their business hours. They are closed every Wednesday. I learned this the hard way

Yelp
Was feeling under the weather so I ordered some food to go. Porridge was decent, there was a good amount of the egg which I like and some places don't put enough of. The pork was nice and tender. Salty fish fried rice - I was surprised to see that there was a lot of fish but it ended up being really tiny pieces of chicken. Which wasn't bad, this dish was pretty good especially with some chili oil. Beef roll - I normally get shrimp rolls but I decided to get the beef and Omgfff it was so good! The flavor was just out of the world. I did add chili oil and the garnishes and honestly I wish I just ordered these instead lol. I love Chinese cafe food and this is probably one spot I'll come back to try everything else.

Yelp
Looking for a carb overload that you won't regret? You've come to the right place. Here's what we got: - BBQ pork rice noodle roll ($4.50) add egg ($1): 5/5 - Beef rice noodle roll add egg: 5/5 - Shrimp rice noodle roll: 4/5 - Beef chow fun ($9.95): 4/5 - BBQ pork & wonton noodles ($8.75): 4/5 "E&J YUMMY Kitchen" lives up to its name! Everything tasted fresh and it's so cheap. Def would recommend adding egg to the rice noodle rolls. Adds more ~dimension~ and fills you up for longer. My fave of the rice rolls was the BBQ pork. I am craving these now I hate myself!

Yelp
Very Convient & unbeatable prices around, whereas other restaurants are bit on the pricey side nothing tops a bang for your buck.

Yelp
I called a phone order and it was ready when I came in. They don't give you an itemized ticket/bill so I paid what the guy told me it was. I got home and unloaded the food and inside was a small calculator type of receipt with prices only. Got charged for an extra item and have no idea what it was for. If the food was any good and I'd go back again, I would have called to get my money back but food was not good. Pork and century egg porridge - watery and was missing seasoning. I had to add my own salt and msg. Gravy Chow fun with chicken - another nope. Gravy was also missing seasoning. And it had no veggies in it all all. Only a few pieces of chicken. Beef stew lo mein - small portion of beef stew Green onion pancake - tiny small portion and greasy Wonton soup - no shrimp in it missing flavor.

Yelp
For pick up: On a Friday morning in August, I was craving for wonton noodle soup and beef rice noodle soup. I seen the sign open and parked in front. I ordered both wonton noodle soup and beef rice noodle roll in Cantonese/English $11.22. The wait is 10-15min wait. I asked about their new hours and it's the owner son says 9-6. Cash only. I took it home to eat. It taste like how I remember before cov19. The wontons are good size w/ 4-5 pieces with pieces gai lan. The beef rice noodle is good and melts in my mouth. The way they make is Hong Kong style. Egg on top is optional. They also make chow mein or chow fun or appetizers. Nice staff.

Yelp
Good considering LA does not have good Cantonese food (best imo is New York). I have had my fair share of congee/porridge, rice rolls and wonton noodles and I think here was mostly okay. The congee was a bit watery to me but that's the LA standard it seems. I also said yes to an added egg for the shrimp rice rolls and it worked great. They were soft enough although not silky enough. Lastly the wonton and beef stew noodle soup which is usually my go to canto food, it was a 6/10. Beef was mostly tendons and the wontons forgettable. Iced honey lemon tea wasn't great $2.50. It needed more tea and lemon flavor. I wouldn't order this (I prefer Tasty Garden).
google avatar

Henry L.

Yelp
small family restaurant with decent food located inside a strip mall, this place looks small but actually have some tables inside. The staff are all family so you can tell they make all the food ingredients themselves. The food taste is not bad. Pretty professional. The rice rolls, the congee, and the noodles all taste pretty good. Only downside are the drinks, which taste blend. Seems kind of weird because you would think the drinks are much easier to make compared to more complex dishes like rice rolls. Inside is pretty clean. Staff are ok friendly. Price is reasonable. Portions are good. Overall, a good place to visit for some quick noodles!
google avatar

Joseph F.

Yelp
Absolutely disgusting. Personally the food was not to my liking, that I do not blame on the cook. But the ambiance of this place is awful. Smelled like a damn chimney, I wasn't able to enjoy my food due to the fact the whole restaurant smelling like cigarette. There's was a worker that kept going in and out of the kitchen to smoke, but the smell would go into the restaurant. It was just very unpleasant. I do not see myself coming back.

Yelp
Thankful they are open for to-go during this covid pandemic! They have delicious rice rolls! I ordered noodles and porridge as well but have yet to try it yet as I'm trying to save it to eat throughout the week. In regards to the rice rolls, they're definitely a must try! It's simple, yet so delicious - great comfort food. There are many protein options to choose from and you can choose to include egg in it. I ordered one with shrimp and one with pork - both including egg. The soy sauce complimented every bite of the rice roll. The texture of it was silky and smooth. Hope they are able to make it through this pandemic! Would love to go back again. Worker was friendly and made sure we had all the sauces we wanted to go with our food.

Yelp
I went and ordered pickup today (04/18/2020) and I had the worst experience ever. I walk in and menu in is to the left side entrance. The girl gives me a little paper to write down my order. Then she takes the same paper and rewrite it in chinese for the chefs to understand. She could have taken my order instead. I pay and they told me it will be ready in 10 minutes and to wait outside. 10 minutes later, it's not done yet. "It'll be done in a few more minutes, I'll let you know" Another 10 minutes later I walk in and asked again "is it ready yet?""Oh yes, it's ready. I tried looking for you outside but didn't see anyone" (I was staring at the entrance the entire time I was waiting outside and I never saw anyone come out to "look" for me) I go home and see they did an extremely poor job of packaging my food. I ordered 2 orders of beef brisket ho fun noodle soup and 2 century egg and lean meat porridge. The lids for both porridge was cracked and the porridge was spilling over the cracked lid. Things they can do better during COVID-19 pickups. 1. Have hand sanitizer available by the menus. 2. They should take the order instead of me writing it down (who knows how many people have touched the pen before me) and they have to rewrite it in Chinese. 3. When packaging food in one plastic bag with containers stacking on top of each other, they should put a cardboard on top to improve stability of the containers. Anyways, I don't see myself coming back for their comfort food anytime soon. The only measure they taken was to wearing a mask but as a customer they did not provide hand sanitizer or provide good customer service even if they were already lacking in that department.

Yelp
the food worth at least 4 stars, it just the price I paid thru Yelp has a HUGE differences! The same minced beef congee I can get it at the store for $7.50, but I have to pay $11.99 on Yelp, and I was picking it up! The rice-roll is $4.50 in store and $6.99 on Yelp! I can understand a dollar or 2 convenience fee but that's a bit extraordinary... I feel ripped off... by making a phone call instead of going thru Yelp I can save $10+ for this order. So the verdict is no more order thru Yelp; do it traditionally, make a call.

Yelp
Came here on Saturday noon time and there was no wait. The cashier lady greeted us cordially. It's a mom-and-pop shop and it isn't too big of a place. We ordered the chicken feet for appetizer. For entrees we got the steamed rice roll with egg and BBQ pork and the wonton pork legs noodles. The chicken feet was a cold appetizer and they were kind of hard. They can afford a bit more time to cook the feet. The steamed rice rolls were not the most silky or smoothest ones that we've had, but for the price it was, there was a fair amount of BBQ pork. It was standard. The noodles came in a moderately large bowl. The broth was hot which is ALWAYS a plus. Noodles with lukewarm broth is kind of nasty anyways. There were 5 pieces of wonton and 4 pieces of pork legs. The noodles were not broken, so that's good. The wontons were standard, fairly meaty. The pork legs were not over cooked because they were not super soft or soggy. The staff were very friendly throughout our visit. For a relatively quick bite with super affordable prices, I'd recommend this spot of Cantonese "street foods".
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Hk/canto comfort food. Wontons and porridge were good. Rice noodles were ok, the shrimps were not too fresh though. Big portion. Reasonably priced.
google avatar

Helen N.

Yelp
The beef noodle roll (add egg) so delicious! It's so fresh and silky. I come here for this dish! The bbq pork and wonton noodle soup is pretty good too!
google avatar

Evelyn T.

Yelp
This is a good spot for some Cantonese comfort food! It is located in the same plaza as Dollar Tree, Coco's & Daiki Sushi. I never have any trouble finding a parking spot during the afternoon on weekends. I typically order the congee and the rice noodle rolls. I have tried some of the noodle dishes and the wonton noodle soup. They are decent, but I always find myself going back to the congee dishes instead. Some of my favorites are the Sampan Porridge, Salted Pork & Preserved egg Porridge, and the Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll. The rice noodle rolls are fresh and soft! I never encountered a wait for a table here. Food comes out fairly quickly and portions are very generous here. Cash only!

Yelp
Ambiance: small family style restaurant, close early at night, good for to go orders Service: very fast and friendly Food: menu items are good for breakfast and lunch Shrimp Rice Noodle Roll - **** surcharge for adding egg, very soft and tender, recommend Wonton Noodles - ** so so, flavorless soup and wonton was not freshly made Beef Chow Fun - *** dry style, average taste Salted Fish & Chicken Fried Rice - **** very flavorful, recommend Price: cash only, cheap prices and large portions, less than $20 per person
google avatar

Jo H.

Yelp
My favorite steamed rice roll place ever. This is probably as close as you can get to enjoy authentic cantonese style steamed rice rolls in LA. I have had their beef, shrimp, fish, and pork rice rolls. All with eggs for $2 extra. My favorite are the pork and beef. The meat is tender and juicy, the rice rolls are fluffy and heavenly. Amazingly delicious and takes me back down the memory lane. Service is quick and on point. Not once I had to wait to be seated despite the fact that this place is almost always packed. People come and go fairly quickly. Highly recommend this place to anyone who's feeling good cantonese comfort food.
google avatar

Lisa W.

Yelp
If you like eating out of styrofoam, then this is your place. No restrooms even if you dine in. I wonder what the staff do? There so many good restaurants in Monterey Park that all serve the same menu. No need to go to a restaurant that has very low standards. It's not street food. If you can't provide service and ambiance and a restroom, you shouldn't have a dining area. Then you're a take out. I would not go there ever again.
google avatar

Ericsson T.

Yelp
Low key great value Hong Kong Style cafe food! E&J is a cantonese feel good restaurant known for the "cherng fun" which is freshly made steam rice noodle rolls. This similar to the ones you get a dim sum, but way better as it tastes fresh/made to order. You can add toppings such as egg (intertwined with the roll!), shrimp, fish fillet, beef, pork or BBQ pork for $1 each. We opted for the egg. 5/5 for the rice noodle roll! We also got the won ton mein (4/5) and honey ginger tea (4/5) --- good but not amazing. Green onion pancake 3/5 (similar to grocery store frozen ones), pass. Overall highly recommended for good value Chinese breakfast/brunch --- get the cherng fun!

Yelp
Been looking forward to checking the rice rolls when I'm in town. Stopped by at 5:15pm today and they were closed :(

Yelp
Food: 5 I love comfort food. Being sick during the week, I wanted some porridge and happened to find this place on yelp. We ordered: Abalone and chicken Porridge $7.95 and Beef Porridge I really liked the abalone and chicken porridge. It had more flavor than the beef porridge. Next time I would get the abalone and chicken over the beef. All the porridge does come with shredded ginger, green onions and crispy wontons. They don't have sell the Chinese donuts. The serving size was huge. It comes in a metal bowl and was enough for three people with leftovers. Shrimp Cheung fun with egg $3.75 plus $1 for the egg I really like the cheung fun. It was really fresh. The rice rolls weren't too thick. It was thin and you can see all the folds. The egg made it thicker in some parts but the cheung fun by itself was soft and melted in your mouth. The shrimp was perfectly seasoned. You can tell that it was lightly battered with a salt and pepper before cooked. The soy sauce was not too sweet and very thin. Pan fried dumpling $4.95 The pan fried dumpling was crispy on the bottom. The stuffing was just perfect, not too much, just enough. It was a pork and veggie stuffing. If I would have changed anything about the dumplings, I would change the thickness of the wrapper but that's just a personal preference. Service: 5 The ladies were very nice. You have to take into consideration that it was really busy when we came in. Busy place = slower service The food did come out a little slow but at least you know it's fresh :) FYI: We got here around 11 am. Even though there were seats available, the place was packed in less than 10 minutes and a line out the door.

Yelp
Authentic Cantonese food. Perfect to quell your Chinese breakfast hankerings! Make sure you add egg to your rice roll. Various congee to choose from although my go to is pork and preserved egg. Enjoy!!!

Yelp
o2.16.19 Took my dad here for brunch (lol) after his eye appointment. It took me awhile to find bc my GPS was giving me weird directions lol But it was just pretty much right next to the Dollar Tree store. Anyway, it was half empty when we arrived so no wait. While we were ordering, and the lady was taking our orders, then this one customer walked in, that lady just went to help him without a word. That was kind of rude. I mean, honestly, I really didn't mind her go help the other person with his to go order but at least say something before you walk away. Anyhow, the food was good. We ordered the thousand egg and pork porridge, pork and beef noodle rolls. They were all pretty good. Esp the porridge, it's light and taste healthy. It tasted like there was no msg in it. ;) Another thing I really liked about the porridge was the pork in it. It was cut in the traditional way. It was cut in small strip pieces. It was shredded pork or marinated salty pork. Great meal, will definitely return.

Yelp
Food is ok, service bad. She's only working by herself. Taking orders, cleaning up the tables, etc... every time we come we have to wait forever, and she takes forever to bring out our water, I'm out of thirst. Never coming back here. They need to hire at least 1 more person man, cheap asf. People are complaining and tell her we need water, she said she doesn't care!!!! OK OWNER.
google avatar

Daphne D.

Yelp
Omg!! The food is amazing!!! I live the rice noodle!!! The 牛腩 soup tasted exactly the same as the one in Guangzhou!! Remind me of my childhood!!! The porridge didn't have any msg or salt, so wouldn't make me thirty after I ate, which was awesome!!!! Yea!!! The only things was I ordered beef brisket mein but they gave me the flat noodle instead. However it was still very tasty !

Yelp
Great tea time specials. Never too crowded. Good deal with a tea. Lunch also has good specials. Can walk around area relatively safely.

Yelp
The rating doesn't say anything about the restaurant but I couldn't give more stars either since I had a negative experience too. NOT open during Coronavirus. Previous reviews must've been for the time they were open for Coronavirus but not anymore. Don't order online, the order will go through and even go through all the process of being accepted, working on it, and even being ready to pick up even though the restaurant is closed. Just call to see if anyone is at the restaurant. Maybe I went on an off day but they do have a sign in Chinese (I had to get a friend to translate it for me since there is no English version) that says they are closed because of covid. There is no estimated time for reopen on the sign. 3 stars because I've eaten here before and it's good but only 3 stars because of the they didn't turn off their GrubHub.

Yelp
Got the rice noodle rolls to go (shrimp, sweet corn, egg) and milk tea (asked for Hong Kong, they said yes but it's only regular ). The rice noodle rolls are done via add in style with choice of protein and filling. The shrimp size are small though compared to before. It looks like pandemic caused price hike here. Rice noodle rolls are decent here though with a soft and chewy, bite but protein portions are skinny compared to the now few, Canto style hole-in-the wall shops. Tip: This is a nice hole-in-the-wall but I would probably get wonton beef stew, lo mein/chow mein, or their porridge. Get lemon iced tea, other drinks are powdered. Be warned it's pretty small shrimp for their cheung fan, but support mom and pops when you can! It's three stars for me until next time.

Yelp
Visitation Rights: Two times (Grand Opening and a month ago)..... maybe more in the near future when I'm craving hk staple food. Type of food: HK/Cantonese comfort food! Location/Parking: Located in the same plaza as Elite Dim Sum and Liang's Kitchen. Parking can be hard to find during peak times, because it shares a lot with other small businesses. If you can, park along Atlantic Blvd. Ambiance/Decor: Small intimate restaurant with mostly modern two seaters and some 4 seater tables. Service: Staffers were very friendly and attentive. Most importantly, the food came out at a decent time. Food: Must get the wonton noodle soup and the scallion pancakes which are staples of the HK food. 1) Wonton Noodle Soup: Comes with wontons, chinese brocoli, green onions, and egg noodles cooked al dente swimming in a flavorful broth!! Very simple and very yum! The wontons were a decent size and was packed with pork and one shrimp, but wished the shrimp was a little bit bigger. 2) Scallion Pancake: My favorite hk comfort food! Tip: Definitely dab some of the grease off! :) Food for thought: Definitely a place to try if you are into hk/cantonese staple food.

Yelp
Another great find from IG @hangrydiary! After scouting the menu on Yelp, I knew I have to come try the dried veggie porridge and the rice roll (Cheung Fun) with egg! We visited around 10am on a recent weekday and there was only one other couple eating. Our waitress was friendly and happy! Sad but true, but that is such a rarity in a Cantonese restaurant. So it was definitely a plus for us! Our food came out pretty much right away. I may be bias since I love most of HK comfort food. The dried veggie porridge with pork ribs came in a giant metal bowl and it was delicious. We shared the BBQ pork rice rolls with egg. I have never heard of this dish before this visit. However I must say I can ever eat regular rice rolls (Cheung Fun) at a dim sum restaurant ever again! This was light and fluffy and even had me fool I'm eating something healthy haha. I also got the wonton soup noodle and my husband got the lo mein with wontons and dumplings. The waitress offered him a side of sauce from the beef stew and it was a great suggestion! In the middle of our meal, we even ordered an extra dish of the BBQ pork rice rolls with egg, don't judge! Delicious food and great service! Cash only but definitely will be back to try the pan fried dishes.

Yelp
This local hole in the wall is known foe it's wontons and steam rice noodles. Tried both and they were very fresh and yummy. Maybe since Covid, they now serve it in to go containers, which I prefer real bowls and the quantity seems less. If you really want wonton I'd recommend getting the wonton noodles without added the beef stew because you'd get more wontons. The steam rice noodles are best with the added egg and it's really a good appetizer size to add and share along with your main order. Their drinks here are not refillable. Cash only. A few dine in tables.

Yelp
Shrimp-egg rice noodle roll was textural fantasy! The sweet/savory sauce was a perfection addition. Congee could be slightly more seasoned, but it tasted healthy. They gave us free milk tea as a service! May be a quarantine service.

Yelp
Stopped by because I was craving some rice rolls and soup. The rice rolls are pretty cheap and filling. For the price, I was surprised that they gave so much shrimp and beef! We even asked for more sauce and the lady generously brought out the container and added more for us. Rice rolls: I liked the shrimp more than the beef. The beef had some chopped up green leaves that had a taste I didn't particularly care for. Both came with plenty of protein. The rice rolls were soft and the sauce was good. Overall these were pretty standard rice rolls. Wonton noodle soup: Egg noodles were nice and springy and the wontons were a pretty good size. The soup was pretty bland so I used the chili oil to give it a little more flavor.

Yelp
hole in the wall. amazing authentic food. I get the chicken congee. It's divine. can eat that all day. service is great, you don't need to speak cantonese, just give them numbers. everything will taste good.

Yelp
Rice Noodle - 3 stars We ordered both shrimp and bbq pork, neither were that great. Really, mediocre at best. The meat was fine but the rice noodle itself was a little hard which was disappointing since I saw such amazing reviews. The soy sauce was too salty and not the typical sweet soy sauce served with rice noodle. Wonton Beef Stew and Noodle Soup -3.5 stars The wontons and beef stew were very flavorful, a solid 4 stars. The noodle was overcooked and not chewy. Potstickers - 2 stars Don't order this. It's basically the frozen grocery store potstickers.

Yelp
Decided to try a new place and when I searched "light dinner" this place came up. Not sure why, this place is actually a bit heavy. Got here around 5 and the place was empty. Walked in the door and saw a Cash Only sign, so I had to drive to the ATM down the street. The lady said to sit anywhere. Ordered two appetizers - the fried chicken and the onion pancake and decided to share the seafood chow mein - crispy. The onion pancake came out first and it wasn't exactly what I expected. It was quite soft and doughy, tasted okay but it was different. Then the chow mein came out and that was pretty good. Had some shrimp, fish, squid and Chinese broccoli. Not the most tasty but overall I enjoyed it. Then the fried chicken came out, which was also not what I expected. It was pretty oily and had a gingery taste. My dad liked it but I thought it was just okay. Overall, the food was decent but nothing spectacular. It costs us about $25 and I was full and maybe half satisfied. Had a small stomachache the next morning but not sure if it was this food.

Yelp
This is the best rice noodles 腸粉 you'll get. I live in OC and there's nothing as legit. The one here is light and smooth -- the way it should be, but slightly different to the ones in Hong Kong. Ask for more sauce. Do not use the soy sauce on the table because it's not the same. We also tried the beef brisket and tendon egg noodles (lo mein) which wasn't bad. The tendon was perfectly soft and gooey). The chicken wings were just okay. Just come for the rice noodles!!

Yelp
Walked in about 9:04AM (they open at 9:00am) The place was empty, so we decided to choose which table to sit at. The server asked us how many people, we said two. She told us to sit at a small table against the wall by the front door. We said we wanted a larger table since we have a tendency to order a lot of food. She didn't like that we refused to sit at the small table. The place was empty, why be so rude and not let us sit where we want? My GF suggested that we could leave, but I said it was okay. Another couple walked in and the server greeted them and they also sat at a larger table but were not fussed at whatsoever. We ordered four dishes based on some of the Yelp reviews and pictures. the Shrimp Rice Noodle w/added beef and egg was really good, but from that point on, it went down hill. The Beef Chow Fun was nothing special, neither was the Beef Stew Wonton Noodle Soup and the Pan Fried Dumplings tasted the the frozen kind that you get at Costco. Would I recommend or come here again? If I do, it would only be for the Steamed Shrimp Rice Noodle.

Yelp
Yummy indeed! A very small mom and pop shop. From what I'm reading among the comments, it seems to be a Hong Kong style restaurant that also serves breakfast style food. I really like their salted pork and egg porridge and their salted fish and chicken fried rice. I was a fan of their beef chow fun as well. However, I'm not a fan of the lo mein unfortunately. It's just so thick and doesn't balance out very well with the wontons or the beef.

Yelp
1st time here and they are open. Been craving rice noodles since all the dim sum places are closed. They have it here and they made fresh to order. Although I didn't call in first, they have my order ready in a short time about 10 minutes. The staff is super nice. He even made free milk tea for me to try while I waited. Authentic home made cantonese food. Really affordable but bring cash. It cash only. I enjoyed the food so much and definitely will come back.
