My daughter enrolled in the 3s program at Kaleidoscope and is now in their UPK program; my son is currently in their 2s program and I hope he can stay through UPK. I am so happy with our experience at Kaleidoscope. My daughter's interests in reading, writing, art, drama, and science have all been nurtured by Kaleidoscope's play-based pedagogy and wonderful array of enrichment programs. My son adores his teachers, classmates, and classroom, and is reluctant to leave at the end of the day! Their outdoor play space is one of the best I've seen in this neck of Brooklyn, and the older kids get to Prospect Park a fair bit as well—physical exercise and outdoor time is a big priority at Kaleidoscope, which is fantastic for the kids. Nutritious meals and snacks are prepared and served on-site, which has done so much to simplify our family's daily routine. The teachers are warm and enthusiastic, and do all they can to show the kids that their ideas, words, and actions matter. And as another commenter noted, their after-school program is admirably flexible in its design. The school is also growing a new lending library, which has been exciting to watch take shape. I wholeheartedly recommend Kaleidoscope for any family looking for a 2s, 3s, or Pre-K program.
