"In the Hunter Valley wine region north of Sydney, where up to 80% of the grape crop was assessed as smoke-affected, respite for some growers came from Archie Rose Distilling Co., which agreed to buy around 50 tons of tainted grapes and turn it into spirits, including a Shiraz beverage, which sold out in a day, and a smoky brandy. "Hearing the stories of people putting their heart and soul into their grapes and not being able to use them was heartbreaking, so we wanted to do something support them," says master distiller Dave Withers. "The brandy will be ready in a few years, so we're looking forward to that and again being able to tell the story of the growers behind it." - Travel + Leisure Editors

I visited Earp for a banquet dinner with another 10 work colleagues. We had the $79pp banquet and each had around three drinks. The distillery and restaurant looks incredible. Inside it's very funky and stylish, with a super slick and fancy feel to it. Perfect for a classy work function or Romanic date. The banquet was well priced for what we got - which was an exciting array of tasty plates, topped off with some of the best steak and Barramundi you'll ever have. We were all stuffed and unable to finish it, so they kindly gave us takeaway containers. The food was all fresh and tasty. Meat was cooked just the way I like it - medium. Portions were spot on and they staggered the dishes wisely. The drinks were amazing - which they had to be, it being a distillery. Every drink had a fun and unique twist to it and they weren't crazy over priced. Totally recommend trying their whiskey - smooth as. Overall we had a great dinner and really appreciated the fantastic service from the polite staff.

My husband and I were at Earp today for lunch and a blending class. The waitress we had Georgie was amazing, so friendly, so helpful, so informative. The food was divine and such a good selection for gluten and dairy free. The blending class was so much fun, we both had a really good time. An example of an up and coming Newcastle business that will go far. Thank you for the great experience

A cute distillery with many interesting class options. We did the spirit blending class and found it so informative and interesting. We got to create our own flavoured spirit and loved the experience. The value for money was really good and all the staff were lovely. The drinks we ordered from the bar were also delicious.

A great find, pity we hadn't planned to stay here longer. Was nice to do a tasting fight, a heap of spirits available and they even do 'blend your own' gin rum and whisky sessions. Worth the visit

As a Newcastle-based wedding photo & video team, we absolutely love capturing wedding celebrations at Earp Distilling Co. The inner-city space is perfect for weddings, with a large function room and a newly added bar area that adds a modern touch to the venue. It's ideal for large celebrations, providing plenty of space for guests to mingle and enjoy the festivities. Plus, its location near Newcastle means you're just minutes away from stunning photo opportunities in the city as well as plenty of accommodation options for your guests. If you're looking for a versatile and stylish venue that can host your wedding reception beautifully, Earp Distilling Co. is a fantastic choice!

For our first wedding anniversary, my husband and I went to Earp Distilling Co. for a guided tasting followed up with the "feed me" lunch, being chefs choice. Firstly, thank you to Mitchell who's joyousness, enthusiasm and knowledge of Earp's spirits was such a delight and his guided tour through the tasting was so much fun! Was the perfect companion whilst there. Secondly, everything from the vodka to the gin, to the rum, to the lemincello and orancello were beyond delicious! Whether it was straight, with some ice, or a mixer, their spirits are so we'll balanced that we bought a bottle of everything we tasted and will definitely be life long customers. Thirdly, and not least of all, the food. Good god the food. The greatest of compliments to the chef. We were spoilt for choice and had I think 8 dishes in all including entree, starter, main, side and dessert. Every single one was 10/10. If there was one though that just scrapped ahead of the rest, it would have to be the duck. I am a huge lover of duck meat and have it nearly everywhere it's on offer and without a shadow of a doubt, this was the best duck I have ever had. Also not for nothing, but the building it is in, and the decor is the perfect blend of modern, industrial, distillery, inviting, warm and cool all on one. Earp Distillimg Co. is a must for anyone who lives in the Newcastle/Hunter region, and those visiting. We will be back very regularly!

We had our wedding reception at Earp Distilling Co. At the start of the year, we went to Earp for date night and after enjoying a delicious meal and cocktails we knew that this is where we wanted to have our reception. Cat was beyond amazing to deal with from start to finish. She was professional and well organised which is a big deal as it alleviates some of the stress that comes with planning a wedding. It was amazing seeing how the vision of everything came together on the night. The venue looked wonderful, and the food and drinks were exceptional. If you are looking for somewhere to host your next event or a place for a nice lunch/dinner and drinks, look no further.
