Well, this was a pleasant surprise. I had dismissed going here for breakfast as I know Earth-N-Sea as a pizza joint for dinner. My first memories on Earth-N-Sea are from the late 80s when they operated out of a fibro shack at the other end of Coolangatta beach. The smell of garlic at dusk was to die for, but my parents never took us there.
Now in its 3rd location in my memory, I thought it odd that they now operate as more of a standard cafe. Breakfast and all.
The $10 bacon and eggs got our attention so we gave it a go.
Bacon and eggs were great value.
I had the savoury mince and while nice, it was an Italian mince, rather than typical savoury (peas, carrots, spices & bay leaves). That said, I'm a little more forgiving to Earth-N-Sea for this as they are an Italian joint for the rest of the day. I do have to add that the mince was on the salty side. But, I found the food good value for money.
Service was good. Friendly and adequate. The location is lovely and the seating area has an open and modern feel.
Sadly, the coffee was awful! And this is the reason they did not get 4 stars from me. It tastes like the beans are bitter so the'd need to get a new supplier to fix this I think. A great shame.
Based on this, we'd do breakfast again (without coffee) and we do want to try dinner there too. If you are at Coolangatta and looking for a quick & easy breakfast, I'd give Earth-N-Sea a go
