We loved our stay. Our room was first floor and nicely appointed. Very clean and comfortable. The grounds were beautiful with flowering plants. Our only issue was we did have children in the floor above us that were running in their room and it was disruptive and we couldn’t use the pool as children were always in it and it was small. Otherwise highly recommend

I've never had such excellent communication with a hotel. Any questions were answered almost immediately! There was a lovely bottle of bubbly on ice in the room, too. I also left a ring there and they called same day to to let me know! I'm so impressed by this hotel! The rooms were spotless, roomy and quiet.

Earthbox has a great location, beautiful property, lots of things to do. Staff was so friendly and helpful. The Crows Nest coffee and breakfast sandwich were delicious. The room was lovely and had everything that I needed - made use of the microwave and minifridge and the robes were sooooo cozy. I was on the ground floor and the only drawback was that I could hear footsteps above me all the time. Their local recommendations were spot on - including cycling routes and the rec of renting from Meat Machine Cycles.

The room was great and the pool and hot tub were terrific! Staff were friendly and very helpful. My husband and I had a super time and highly recommend this place to stay at. It was also very quiet and near the downtown area. The bed was also very comfortable and we enjoyed the soap and lotion.

This is a fantastic spot, especially for families. Easy walking distance to the ferry, restaurants, and stores. They have an indoor pool and the kids love it! The hotel is a bit older but the rooms have been updated and are in really good shape. We love the San Juan Islands and this is the only place we stay!

We had an awesome stay here last week! The room was perfect, the staff were incredibly helpful with ideas for places to eat and visit, and the pool, hot tub, and sauna were welcome additions after a day of hiking. Our dog-friendly room came with lots of room for us and our critter, and they provided dog bowls, mats, and a doggie towel (just in case). We loved that it is located a few short blocks from the ferry and downtown Friday Harbor shopping and dining. We also really appreciated that they were staying open during the off-season (several other lodgings and eateries were shut down). I know it's a hardship to do so, and I told them how much we appreciated their being there.

Google
It is a former motel, maybe a Super 8? Rooms still have the 80's look. "Kitchen" area is small, and watch your head from the fixed shelves when getting into small fridge. The Spa is the original motel pool and hot tub. Service is great and bed is comfortable. Over all, C+.

We've stayed at the Earthbox Inn many times now. We choose this place over others, because it is a nicer facility that has rooms and will accommodate dogs. Many hotels that accept dogs aren't very clean, but this place is wonderful. Great location, so you can get out and about walking around Friday Harbor. Earthbox is our trusted base camp for adventures on San Juan Island!

Yelp
I was extremely pleased with my stay at Earthbox Inn. The staff was very courteous and friendly. The rooms spacious and immaculate. A very quick walk to town, lovely location and gardens. The cafe Crows Nest on property had fantastic coffee and teas as well as home baked goods. Really enjoyed sitting in the gardens and walking the town. Would definitely stay here again!

Yelp
We stayed in the Earthbox Inn and Spa in Friday Harbor for three nights. The Earthbox is a renovated motel. Someone spent time upgrading the decor and amenities, plus adding a spa and indoor fitness area including a heated pool. We didn't use any of the facilities or spa so I can't speak to that. Our room was a single queen on the first floor. It was a very small room. Oddly, everything was small. The refrigerator is the smallest of dorm style we have seen in our travels, as were the coffee cups and glasses. Everything seemed mini. The cost at over $210 (before discounts which are frequently offered and which we received) did not match the room we got. Plus, the view was of the parking lot so I don't get the price point. It's not worth $200+ a night. On arrival, we asked if we could move to a double queen or King to get more space but was told they were sold out for the 3 nights we stayed here. I checked online and noted 2 of the nights appeared to have available rooms but I didn't pursue it further. Other exchanges via text only with staff were helpful. The location was central to everything in town and an easy walk to the harbor.

Yelp
This property is at best dated and at worst dirty. The location and staff were great and we found the self check-in to be very convenient and easy to use. However, the rooms were very dusty and some of the amenities were downright gross. The minute we saw the hot tub we decided not to go in. The parking situation also outweighs the benefits of the location. The spots are extremely small and fill up quickly.

Yelp
The Inn can do better at up keep. I reserved a room for the purpose of a bath and this is what I got. A dirty epic mat. I refused to use everyone bacteria. Not ok. The bathroom looked old. Was not worth the cost I paid. Yes I understand it was the holiday weekend.. do better. Thank you.

Yelp
Essentially a motel with a pool. Pros: clean rooms, conveniently located to downtown and has a nice heated pool. Problems: Room security code failed to work resulting in waiting 40 minutes to obtain assistance via email and phone to get entry to room after 10pm. Assured the problem was solved; it wasn't. Spent an hour the morning emailing guest relations since we couldn't leave the room since our code didn't work. No one was at reception until late morning. Lost the morning of our vacation. Room view is of parking lot. On-site cafe was closed because they didn't have sufficient staff one day. Pool doesn't open until late in the morning: not great for early risers. Motel staff had a nice manner but were not able to trouble shoot. The small outdoor common areas where insufficent. A family of 8 filled the area and there was no other place to sit. Will stay at a better run inn.

Yelp
I decided to pamper myself with a 90 minute Dermaplaning & Facial package. Amy was fantastic, my skin felt very soft and smooth afterwards. I loved the anti aging medical grade products she used on my face as well. I definitely recommend this service to anyone that wants to experience a relaxing facial treatment and improve the look of your skin.

Yelp
We had a 4-day stay last week and this is a pretty nice hotel! The rooms and bathrooms are clean and updated, the staff is nice, and checking in and out is a smooth process. Getting to Friday Harbor is honestly harder than booking a stay here. And with all the amenities in the room, I could see myself coming back. However, I think there were a handful of issues that impacted an otherwise great stay: - Personal security does not feel the best- the rooms use a code-based lock instead of keys, and Earthbox emails you the code a few days before your stay, as well as when the code is activated/deactivated. This code though, is very easy to guess, and it feels like this could be a potential issue. - Ironing was a huge hassle- clothes get wrinkly in luggage, so it's nice to iron or steam your garments. However, there's absolutely no space to put down the smaller ironing board that they provide without moving everything off a counter or just kneeling on the floor. - There were so many bugs- not bed bugs, but bugs coming in from the forested areas around the hotel and island. There were ants and a small number of spiders in our room, and in our friends' room, several dozen flies were in there when they checked in. While there was no trash or anything like that, it was confusing and aggravating to see. One of the guests took care of the problem themselves, but they shouldn't have had to. If you can tolerate hiccups like this, I recommend Earthbox- it's an affordable option on San Juan Island, and you'll get a little bit more than what you're paying for.

Yelp
Just returned from a girls trip to San Juan Island and stayed at the Earthbox Inn. The location was nice, within walking distance to everything. The indoor pool and hot tub was nice to relax in after long days out exploring. Room was clean, beds were comfortable and we enjoyed the toiletries provided from the lavender garden. Our only real complaint would be that they advertise they have a "cafe" onsite... they do no, only a Keurig set up in the office and didn't even offer any flavored creamers or anything.

Sabrina L.

Yelp
What a lovely place they have. Great location, within walking distance to the town. Nice indoor pool. Comfortable beds. We withhold stay here again.

Adam H.

Yelp
We are from Bellevue and wanted to get away from the city for a weekend. looked this business up, and checked in. Friday Harbor is beautiful, as are the rest of the San Juan's. This comfortable, proffesional staff, jacuzzi jetted bath tubs in spotless modern/updated rooms fit right in to Friday harbors charm. The clubhouse with a hot tub, heated indoor modest pool, and poolside changing rooms/restrooms was a nice touch also. Excellent spot in the fall, winter ,spring months for a couple that just want to get away for awile. Short drive from king county with gorgeous ferry ride views and you're here! we'll be back soon. Thx Earthbox

Yelp
Lovely place to stay after spending a week out kayaking in the islands. Super peaceful environment, ideal location, comfortable room, and staff member Arlene went above and beyond to help get an item back to us that we left behind. We'll be back!

Jody N.

Yelp
Oof. This place was not what we expected. We paid over $280 for ONE night. At that rate we expect a pretty decently nice room. What we got was the equivalent to a Super 8 motel. The room was outdated and not the cleanest. There was mineral build up all over the shower head, dirt and grime in the corners, worn down counter tops, etc. The beds were horribly uncomfortable and seemed really cheap. We had sore backs all day afterwards. The walls were very thin so we could hear everyone around us. At 8am in the morning, one of the cleaning ladies pushed a couple rolling garbage cans down the walkway by our door and woke us all up. At MOST this place should cost $125 per night. I have paid less money for 4 star hotels than I did for this place. I'm pretty disappointed.

AE J.

Yelp
Convenient location. Room floor and baseboards were not very clean. There was a young child in the room above us that ran incessantly stomping. Low ceilings didn't help with that noise factor. Easy check in and out.

Marie P.

Yelp
My boss gave me a gift certificate for my 50th birthday for my husband and I to stay at this place. So quiet. So tranquil. The lavender products smell so amazing! Yvonne was so incredibly helpful with suggestions of places to visit and places to eat. We only stayed 3 days but we fell in love with this place. We definitely will be back!

Cheryl B.

Yelp
I found this place thru Booking.com and wish they would have had availability on the end of my trip too. I stayed one glorious night and will definitely go back! My room was clean and comfortable, check in was great and they emailed before to confirm, called to update a credit card and I had my door room code before I could check in! I wish I could have enjoyed the facilities! The front desk staff helped when I asked abotu Taxi service. I loved the location too.

Daniel A.

Yelp
First time guests and the accommodations were great. Room was clean and comfortable, indoor pool was a nice bonus and staff was amazing! Special shout-out to Carly for that added touch of hospitality.

Bob B.

Yelp
Not a fan of this refurbished motel, particularly at the rate of $300.00 a night. Last minute trip to Friday Harbor, supply and demand, I get it, but what frosted me is not getting into the room till 4:00, when I know the room was available before that. Staff either don't care, or don't know how to accommodate guests. I would give them a Covid pass, but it was a weekday and I got there at noon, and was watching the last of the cleanings. I checked in hourly then at 4, they brought out a bunch of keys. Come on! No use of the pool, no breakfast. On the bright side, nice lipstick on this pig, great bed and pillows, dogs welcomed and great amenities for the canines. Free bike usage. Do yourself a favor and stay at the Web.

Shoshana G.

Yelp
Lots of mixed reviews here! Pros: - Amazing location. Right at the end of the downtown area of Friday Harbor so while it's within walking distance to everything, it's still quiet. - All of the staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They gave us really good restaurant recommendations. - Free bikes to use around town, free coffee in the lobby (and in the rooms they have a Keurig), good Wifi, recently renovated, computer and printer available to use in lobby. - Also, it was really nice that they had the lotion and soap from the nearby lavender farm. Thought that was a nice local touch. Cons: - Biggest con is that some of the rooms don't have AC. It gets really hot and stuffy at night. Each room comes with a fan. I would suggest asking for an additional one when you check-in. - Really expensive!

David S.

Yelp
This place is old and run down, very disappointed and nothing like it was advertised. There was damage to the finishes and flooring in the bathroom, very old finishes, needs a refresh. For the price prepare to be very disappointed.

JC W.

Yelp
My husband and I spent two nights at the Earthbox - bringing our dog. They have some rooms that permit pets, which is fantastic! The room was nice and comfy, with bowls ready for our Lilli Dog (including a biscuit). It was for my husbands birthday, so I also ordered some craft beer ahead of time. The beer was from San Juan Brewery (a "must visit") and displayed on ice with some wonderful chocolates, as well. The staff was fantastic at communicating with me via email and text. I really could not have asked for a better stay! Thank you to the staff - you all are awesome!

Allie S.

Yelp
We were very disappointed in the accommodations. We knew it didn't have air conditioning but it was very outdated and had ants in the room. We complained and they did switch us to a different smaller room but wasn't at all what we expected for our romantic getaway. We also scheduled massages at the spa 5 months in advance only to have them cancelled the day of. Incredibly disappointing and little to no effort was made to make it right. We will NOT be returning and we do NOT RECOMMEND Earthbox Inn & Suites to anyone.

Kristy S.

Yelp
My first trip to Friday Harbor and we were celebrating my boyfriend's birthday. I found this motel after a google search - it is a new business, and replaces Elements. I am not sure when that change happened, but this property is now the Earthbox Motel and Spa. All rooms have been redone and have theme: Earth, Wind, Sky, Ocean. We stayed in a Sky unit (a free upgrade upon arrival) and it was very nice. They have redone the rooms in a "W Hotel" fashion. Really nice, clean, quiet and peaceful. The huge king size bed was so comfortable we didn't want to get out it! Most rooms have at least a mini fridge and a microwave, along with the standard coffee maker. And, they have Tazo teas, which was an added bonus for me! Earthbox offers cruiser bikes you can check out for free and they had a ton of them. We brought own bikes up instead, and enjoyed a long ride before dinner. They have plenty of bike racks for guests to use to lock up their own bikes too. The conceirge/staff are full service and booked our whale watching trip and made two dinnetr reservations. Drawbacks: None really. We will be back!

Yelp
What a great find! Comfortable, quiet and clean accommodations are always the right way to start your stay. Then add great location and extremely friendly and helpful staff and you find the perfect place in Friday Harbor. Our Golden Doodle travels everywhere with us and Earthbox not only welcomed him, they had bowls and treats waiting when we arrived. We will stay here every time we visit.

Yelp
To put it succinctly Earthbox Inn is a motel with concierge service. The location in Friday Harbor is superb being nearby to many of the lovely shops and restaurants. There's parking within the grounds and nearby to the rooms. The staff is very friendly and engaging. They'll make reservations for you, set up spa appointments, pick you up at the ferry dock if you don't want to walk. They have many suggestions to offer to make your visit to Friday Harbor fantastic. I stayed at an Earth room with two beds. The room was fine. They stick with the theme very well with green walls, furniture, and drapes. The fixtures are modern and there's plenty of light. The bed was comfortable and there were seven pillows to pick from per bed so there was no shortage of pillows! There is no air conditioning. I can understand why, it used to not get hot enough long enough to really merit it, but the room became very warm with the only way to really cool it off was to keep the door open. It worked during the day but at night I was not comfortable keeping it open so my traveling companion was way too hot during the night. Little things were broken. The outlet above the sink didn't work and the shower still allowed water to go through the bath spigot. Water temperature was great, but the pressure was ok. My biggest complaint was that the shampoo, conditioner, and body wash containers in the bathroom were not labeled. I was in the wrong for not questioning it and used it to find out quite quickly that the shampoo had a prime ingredient in it that I am allergic to. It would have been nice to have a description so I could have known not to touch it like the lotion and soap on the counter. Overall it is nice, good location, great service, but eh ok in other areas.

Catherine Y.

Yelp
Clean and comfortable room, prime location, prompt and friendly service, sweet accommodations for our dogs - no complaints. All of this is enough to warrant a 5-star rating. But the main reason I'm writing this review is because of the SPA. Do yourself (and your hips and lower back) a favor and book a massage with Cammille. She is attentive and experienced and a magician with her elbows. I can't overstate it - easily the best massage I've ever had.

Stacey F.

Yelp
Stayed here over Labor Day weekend for 3 nights. Big pluses are (1) location - easy to walk anywhere in downtown Friday Harbor, and (2) indoor pool, which was a very nice facility and the kids loved it. Local lavender bath products and cute landscaping are also a nice touch. Significant downsides were (1) the lack of any sound proofing/insulation- the ceilings are exposed wood planks and the rooms had no carpeting so any time someone in the room above us sneezed we heard it, multiple times each night we woke with a start thinking someone was actually in our room but it was just the people above us walking normally, (2) not one window opened and the bathroom had no vent making for a hot humid room and steamy situations (not in a good way) after showers, and (3) general need of maintenance/refresh - paint peeling, missing hand towel holders, uncomfortable mattresses. Considering the relatively high room rates, I would consider somewhere else next time.

Chelsea H.

Yelp
You have to have 4 things in my book to make my stay pleasant and comfortable. CLEAN and quite rooms, plenty of pillows, many toiletry items and a very comfortable bed. I would go with 3 out of 4. Outside the motel boosts the element idea, all rooms/sections of the motel are split up into different elements such as earth, fire, water etc... A unique charm to the compl You are greeted warmup by staff and they give you a map of the property and where your room is. This is totally an older hotel property flip and semi-remodeled. Parking is a tight squeeze. We got a lower floor 2 queen bed room for $278 a night. A little sticker shock but you're on an island so naturally you pay a bit more. The room itself is quite lovely actually. Believe it or not the beds are very comfortable, great assortment of pillows from down and soft to firm and hard. Lavender soap, lavender lotion, lavender body wash( no little dinky bottles here, they have a 3 bottle pump on the wall with clearly marked labels of shampoo, conditioner and body wash.)The bathrooms are TINY, literally open the door and the toilet is in front of you and the shower to the right. The sink area is rustic looking with fine details of metal and wood which I feel is an "earthbox experience". All and all this was a pleasant stay, wish the walls weren't so thin. I heard my neighbors conversations but I just turned up the tv volume to drown it out. No bugs, no unclean linens. Knocked one stars off of this place- I feel they sell the rooms unjustly. You should not be paying over $175 when you can hear your neighbors. We stayed during the week. I could understand why a hotel would want to stagger guests closer to each other so housekeeping doesn't have to run across the whole complex but really? You could of spaced each person staying at our "wing" and we wouldn't have to hear our neighbors and they're was only 4 cars in the whole lot.

Mary A.

Yelp
I'm sure it's a great place but please be careful when making a reservation. Just some advice from my experience. There are no details on their general website about their 10% non-refundable policy. It's when you actually book online and confirm where that policy is actually mentioned; that is where you the guest needs to acknowledge the non-refundable policy. But like me, by the time you are actually booking, you get caught up in getting it through. I skipped right over that. I get it...my bad, my error. But if it was clearly written on the general website I would have thought twice about booking in the first place. It also doesn't matter if you cancel 8 months before (thanks jury duty and health issues) or 1 week before, the penalty is the same across the board. A tiered cancellation policy would be more fair for the guests; I'm pretty sure our room will be filled 8 months out vs folks who cancel 1 week before.

Juanita K.

Yelp
My husband and I had a Wonderful experience in this lovely Inn. The rooms were super clean and the beds were so comfortable ! The staff gives attention to detail and includes wonderful extras in the room that made our stay like a royal experience ! The spa services were absolutely decadent! The spa does get busy so it is suggested that you book it in advance to make sure there is availability. We will definitely be back. And I would highly recommend this establishment to anyone wanting a beautiful, relaxing quiet stay on this lovely island right in the heart of downtown Friday Harbor!

Just F.

Yelp
We had a nice stay @ Earthbox, had to get out of the fire smoke in Portland. It is a super short walk to everything, and I read somewhere Spring St. was a a steep road, not true, easy walk up from Friday Harbor waterfront & all of the restaurants & coffee shops along the way. San Juan Island brewery is right around the corner, Downriggers restaurant, ice cream shops, etc. definitely would stay again.

Jenn K.

Yelp
We picked this place because they are dog friendly, but wouldn't stay here again. Beds were really bad- there's plastic protector under the sheets which was so loud if you move in the slightest, the pillows were all VERY thick and VERY hard, so I woke up with a neck ache. No AC so room was hot and stuffy, bathroom was not redone and a little old and gross. This place is overpriced for what it is- and I get it, summer on San Juan island... but it was way too much. Good things- it has plenty of parking for guests, bedding is white so it felt clean, location is makes walking around Friday Harbor easy. Front desk was friendly.

Jenny R.

Yelp
Great in and great location! The room was super spacious with everything we would need. The lavender amenities were so high quality and smelled so good. It was limited hours for the office but the service was very high touch from the moment we made the reservation to the moment we checked out, all remote. It was the second time we travelled during COVID and the rooms felt extremely clean. They had items in the room for further disinfection if we wanted to do that. The ferry and shops/restaurants were in walking distance even in the cold and light rain we had one morning. We got lucky to be on the island on a sunny and chilly fall weekend and look forward to coming back!

deanna o.

Yelp
Unfortunately I was disappointed , I really wanted to like this place. No one answers the phone, I'll give it a pass due to the pandemic. The room was dark, brown rug and no A/C. Keeping the window open with a screen felt unsafe. No air circulation. Would not recommend.

Marin J.

Yelp
You have GOT to be kidding. Earthbox is a wonderful marketing concept, Great website, fabulous logo, superb writing extolling their virtues. Cool bikes for rent all shiny and lined up in the sunlight. Too bad it's really a motel 6 in disguise. Now I am all for repurposing buildings and making them marvelous, but this place still feels like it doesn't live up to the website and conceptual design. Perhaps the dominance of the asphalt put me off. Heaven knows they tried to cover that up with a little nice planting. I think the reason why I balk are the prices. You can stay at many, many nice b&b's for the same price and enjoy way better amenities. The advantage? Right in the thick of things. The disadvantage? The above wears off after a couple of days.

Rick K.

Yelp
Earthbox is a converted motel. They've done a nice job with the lipstick but from certain angles you can still see the pig underneath. This review is for a stay in late May 2019. Pros: - Great location. It's an uphill walk from the ferry but an easy downhill walk back. - Prices are not unreasonable for Friday Harbor. - Nice amenities: pool, spa, bikes. - Nice room decor. - Nice staff. - Nice grounds. Neutral: - Many rooms don't have air conditioning. This is reasonable for this area, and they warn you about this on their web site. Cons: - Beds were meh, with a plastic cover on the mattress. - No cross-ventilation, at least in our room. This is not reasonable for this area. If you don't have A/C, you need cross-ventilation most of the year. This is the reason for the low rating. Our first night here followed a sunny day. It was stuffy and warm in the room. We had a window that opened, but only on one side of the room. Combined with the mattress cover it was a sweaty night. However the second night was after a cool, cloudy and drizzly day and the room was still uncomfortably warm. I'd probably have given this a higher rating during cooler weather or if we had a room with cross-ventilation, because the lipstick is nice. They've put some money and work into it. But my most fundamental requirement for lodging is a good night's sleep, and we didn't get that here. If you have A/C or can verify that your room has cross-ventilation, it might be worth a try.

Yelp
We stayed in this great little hotel last weekend for our anniversary and it was very nice. Some of the things that I really liked about it: (1) They knew it was our anniversary and left a nice card and a treat in the room. That was a very nice touch. (2) They're dog friendly. Not just dog-allowing but actually dog-friendly, I like that. (3) The room was decorated in a calm, clean and serene fashion. And (4) they had some thoughtful amenities in the room, like earplugs. Now, being city folk, I didn't need earplugs to sleep out in Friday Harbor, but I could see it being perfect if you had noisy neighbors at night. It's a nice location, a very easy walk to everything in town but still quiet and off the road a little bit. There were only a few small negatives that kept this from being a five star experience. The guy at the front desk was nice but spread a little thin. There was a line to check in, there was a line when we stopped by to ask a question, and when he told us he would check on something it never happened, probably because there were ten other things waiting for him. The bed was a little uncomfortable. I tend to be pretty picky about mattresses, but when my husband, who could sleep on a floor, complained, I knew it was a little lumpy. It was definitely a roll-to-the-middle experience. Finally, there was a little pet relief area, which was convenience and our dog seemed to really like, but there was some litter in there that should have been cleaned up. My guess is that it, like the ice vending area, is a work in progress. We didn't get to use the pool or the bikes because we didn't want to leave our pup in the room alone (or take turns staying with her), but it was nice to know the option was there. Overall, we had a nice stay and I would go back there.

Joshua L.

Yelp
Nice location. Quiet but not too far from downtown. The room is a bit old but they provided disinfectant spray in the room. The lavender cleaning products have wonderful smell. The bikes provided were a joke with the small hills around.

Richard T.

Yelp
The Earthbox Inn is more like a converted upscale motel and everywhere you look you can see evidence of that. The grounds are almost all on one story and the buildings are spread out from each other. The place is not too far from the main street in Friday Harbor and you can walk to here from the ferry terminal within 5 minutes. My main gripe about staying here were the rooms. The queen size bedroom we got felt so small and cramped for the two of us that it felt almost claustrophobic. There was not much room to walk around inside and if not for the free Wi-Fi, I'm not sure I would've stayed. The bed itself was small for the two of us and it didn't seem like a queen size bed. It felt like a full size, but just a tad bigger. I'm glad we only stayed two nights otherwise I'm not sure if it was bearable especially if you are spending much time in the room and not out and about around the island. The bathroom was a good size and seemed way better than the bedroom size. The shower on the other hand had weak water pressure and it was one of the worst I have had in a long time. One thing I liked was they had a shampoo, body wash and conditioner dispenser right in the shower which was very convenient and you didn't have to deal with the small standard travel size ones offered in the hotels. The amenities here are very good with plenty to offer from a full spa service, bike rentals, indoor pool, sauna and Jacuzzi. The rooms were nicely decorated with good modern bedding and furnishings plus they had cable tv with quite a few channels to offer. The lobby was nice with a small area selling a variety of stuff and they even had a computer for you to use. Overall very good concierge friendly service from the front and they were able to attend to all of our needs. Good for our one time stay, but with quite a few options here on the island I'm sure we will find somewhere else the next time here at Friday Harbor.

Yelp
Great little hotel right up the road (easy walk) from the ferry terminal. We got there right after the ferry let out, and so did everyone else. My advice if you don't need to drop your stuff off right away: go see the town and relax, let the line go away. We did exactly that, and when we got back check-in was seamless and quick. Room was clean and modern. I appreciated seeing dispensers of soaps and other toiletries rather than individual bottles. Yay conservation! The only things that keep this from being a 5-star rating is what we found lacking. The Wi-Fi was free, but it was so weak that I opted to use 4G for much faster speed. And although we didn't plan on spending or spend much time in the room, when we got back early one night to kick back and find a movie on TV, we found that there were limited channels, they were grainy, and for whatever reason, the picture didn't fit on the screen. Example: subtitles were cut off on the bottom of the screen. There was also no iron or ironing board. Maybe if we had gone to the office and asked, these would have been provided, but when we woke up in the morning on budgeted time and found that there was no iron (first hotel we've ever seen this in), we didn't want to run to the office in pajamas to inquire after this pretty common iron. Lastly, a cup of hot tea would have been a nice start to the day, but there were only herbal teas in the kitchenette. I know this is a spa as well as a hotel, but there was coffee and decaff coffee in the caddy, and some plain old genuine tea would seem logical. These aren't huge issues, but annoyances and inconveniences. Didn't utilize the spa.

Yelp
My friend and I spent Thanksgiving in Friday Arbor at the Earthbox Inn and Spa. The staff at the hotel was very friendly and gave us a lot of good tips for restaurants and places to go sightseeing. I had a massage at the spa. It was amazing! I have never traveled to a friendlier city. Everyone was so nice from the hotel staff to the spa staff to the stores and restaurants in town. Everything is walking distance if you choose to walk. If you want to get out of town in a car, watch for foxes, we saw 2, and deer, we saw 3.

Yelp
This was a bit of a mixed bag. The property is pretty, and not completely out of order, but it is old and showing it. Our room had no AC, though they did provide a big fan to put in the window. Some other rooms have small wall AC units. The price was pretty steep for the overall quality of the facility. So really, not a bad stay, but could have been better and was too expensive for what it is. Oh, and the wi-fi was sketchy at best. We ended up using our cellular hot spot.

Yelp
We came for a wedding in Roche Harbor but opted to stay here for both the price and location. The room was clean, cute, and exceeded our expectations. The staff was really friendly and helpful with suggestions, too. We loved the local lavender soaps and body wash! You can even visit the farm they come from about ten minutes away. I wanted to go to the spa but didn't have time. The pool and jacuzzi were underwhelming so we didn't bother and the workout room is super tiny. The hotel has complimentary beach cruisers but I'm not sure where people would really go? There isn't much of a beach front bike path and the inter island roads are wooded and curvy- not the best for cruising on a bike. All restaurants are within walking distance anyway. Some tips for the island: Friday Harbor is one of the only parts of the island with shops and restaurants, and while it is beautiful, it has a super small town feel. We were surprised that a summer tourist town had shops closed on Sundays and Mondays. The grocery store is close by but a bit pricey so if you're coming from Seattle, stop by Target in Marysville on your way up. If you wait til Anacortes your options are more limited and the Safeway there is expensive (there is another market too). Unless you plan on staying put in Friday Harbor, you'll probably want a car. The mopeds on the island move slowly and like I mentioned before, it's a windy road even for cars. Visit the San Juan Bakery- you could probably take a bike to that- it's super close and really good! They only have drip coffee but the pastries are amazing.

Yelp
The room was a little small but it was perfect for our one night stay. Located within walking distance from the ferry and surrounded by all the local restaurants. The best part was the indoor heated pool and hot tub, although the sauna was temporarily out of order which was a little disappointing. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would love to come back again.

Yelp
Stayed here for 2 nights 3 days. First, to start off I was charged another day by mistake! I called the front office and alerted them about the charge. They assured me it would be taken care of. And I got a receipt showing they took a day off my bill. The room was so small, so so very small. Also the bathroom was so small it was embarrassing and the toilet seat was very loose and dangerous believe it or not. This place seems like a motel six with some paint and nice furniture. To be honest the air condition unit was very small and couldn't keep up with room temps most of the time. There are friendly front desk staff and lobby looked nice and clean. Also the pool understandably closes at a set time but closing in evening could be adjusted because of the fact it was indoors? I was shooed out by staff because I was the only person in the hot tub past time? For the price and hassle of checking in they could have made an exception? I won't be staying here again, so if your reading this do your research and look around a bit. 250 a night was a stupid price to pay for this place. My mistake!

Yelp
Clean, quite, hot tub, reasonably priced and a short walk to the harbor and all the restaurants. Everything we wanted in a hotel.

Yelp
Let's call it what it is, a motel. Better paint and higher price, but a motel. The location is amazing, walking distance to the downtown waterfront of Friday Harbor. They have a row of bicycles you can use to ride around town. They have an indoor pool and Jacuzzi with a workout room and a sauna. They also have a spa. My friend and I came in the off season for a weekend to relax and make some spa appointments. Check in was fast and we spend the evening enjoying the pool and sauna. Once we went back to our room we realized that there is no AC. It was getting so hot in the room that we had to prop the door open during a wind/rain storm for about 3 hours to cool the room. So here we are, at almost midnight with our door wide open. Good thing this is off season and there are only like 4-5 other guests staying here. The following morning we walk to down to the lobby to ask about extending out check out since there are no guests here and we have spa appointments booked for the afternoon. We were told they can let us stay an additional hour or charge us for anything later because they need to get the room cleaned and turned over. Umm, ok. So we asked if the spa facility has a locker room where we can shower after our treatments and get ready. No, they do not. The lady at the front desk told us she will give us new key cards and access to the pool where we can use the bathroom and shower there. That would be great except for the shower is located in the middle of the facility by the entrance into the pool.

Yelp
Pros: really friendly, helpful staff; walking distance from downtown; ambiance, pool, laundry. Cons: fitness center opens at 8 and most activities start at 9, so that's pretty late, coffee bar and guest services also open at 8, Seems late but we are early people); beds are not very comfortable and cleanliness level is fair-good.

Yelp
Stayed here with a friend during the heat wave that covered the PNW. When we entered our rooms, they were nice and cool! The A/C worked great. The room was absolutely clean. They observe Covid guidelines with contactless check in. It was so easy! Everything was great. I highly recommend this hotel for an enjoyable stay. They could use an additional ice machine...

Yelp
I was thrilled to get a room anywhere in the island for the weekend. Staff was very nice at check in and it was a beautiful office. I was not prepared for a motor inn. Plenty of tight parking spots. The room itself was average. Cheap wood laminate and down comforter. Beds are ok. It was like putting lipstick on a pig. Nice features on an old motor inn. Clean enough and beautiful flowers. Not a good sign when they provide earplugs. Which were needed due to heavy walking upstairs guests. I highly recommend a massage at the Spa with Rachel. It was the best one ever! It was also nice that you could use bikes and they have a coffee bar. The hotel wasn't my favorite place for the price but was an easy walk to town/ferry. Kids would live the pool.
