On the Grid : Easey's

"Burgers. In a train. On a roof. Seriously do I need to say more? Easey's is a burger joint that spans several levels within Melbourne's (if not Australia's?) only train building – why do I call it that? It's a building that for some reason has not one, but THREE train carriages on top of it, as well as being adorned with sections of rail tracks. The burgers are super tasty, reminiscent of a New York burger with melted cheddar. Even the vegetarian option (pictured) is awesome. It's a cool vibe, there's graffiti everywhere and the staff are friendlier than you're used to. This place scores very highly for me both in burgers and cool factor." - Studio Fellow

Easey's – Collingwood, Australia - Gastro Obscura

"This quirky burger restaurant allows visitors to eat five stories up inside a “Hitachi,” one of the retired train cars from Melbourne’s suburban railway network. These trains are known as Hitachi trains because the electrical equipment was supplied by Commonwealth Engineering, with designs by the Hitachi company of Japan. The stainless steel Hitachi cars were the city’s first suburban trains with power-closing doors and heating. In total, 355 Hitachi train cars rolled along the Melbourne tracks between 1972 and 2014, when the fleet was retired from service. At Easey’s, diners can enjoy the lasting legacy of the Hitachi fleet. One of the cars—the 135M, which started service in 1978—now sits on the rooftop of a building in the Melbourne suburb of Collingwood, where it serves as a restaurant. The entrance and interior feature graffiti and artwork with an urban train theme. The commuter seats are authentic and there are many quirky features that pay tribute to the trains of the city. Local graffiti artists regularly refresh Easey’s street art aesthetic by spray-painting the exterior walls of the dining car. On the wall outside is a 30-meter-wide (100-foot-wide) mural that pays tribute to Keith Haring and Jean-Michel Basquiat. As for the food, expect American-inspired classics with a Melbourne twist, such as chili cheese dogs, fried chicken sandwiches, and fried meat-and-veggie dumplings battered in the local beer. Know Before You Go If you'd like to dine in the train car, make a reservation on the restaurant's website. It fills up fast!" - Collector of Experiences, Obscuravibes, Gavin

Tried Easey’s Burger Joint recently—mixed experience overall. Food: Oklahoma Fried Onion Cheeseburger – Not a fan. The beef itself was tasty, but the onions were overwhelming—chewy, undercooked, and too crunchy for what I expected. Mac & Cheese Loaded Fries – Loved these! Great portion size and full of flavor. Chicken Bow Wow – Really enjoyed this one. Tasty and felt like a lighter, healthier option with the cabbage slaw. Ambience: The decor is definitely cool and trendy—strong "young crowd" vibe. We reserved the train lounge for dinner, which added a fun twist to the experience. Service: Disappointed here. We mentioned in our online booking that we were celebrating our honeymoon, but the staff didn’t acknowledge it at all. Most places would offer a small gesture or even just a “congratulations,” but nothing here. It made the experience feel a bit impersonal and inattentive. Would come back for the fries and chicken, but probably wouldn’t go out of my way again.

This is my favourite burger in Melbourne. Best one I've had without a doubt. They put train carts on top of a building and put a restaurant in it. It's just so cool. The burgers were amazing. The oklahoma fried onion cheeseburger. 2 smashed patties, fried onions, cheese. Simple, but done so well. The patties had a strong beefy taste and quite lean. The fried onions gave it that nice sweetness and the cheese was your typical american cheese. This burger just satisfies my cravings every time. The sweet potato chips with gravy and cheese was a great side. The chili cheese fries were as good as you would get them in America, and the onion rings were perfect. Can't fault anything I've had in this place.

Went at lunch time to have burgers in this cool train setting. Daylight makes the place pretty cool to checkout. Service staff was great, they helped me in getting my table earlier and had a good view of where we sat at. Burgers were awesome!

Best onion rings I’ve ever had! The structural integrity was flawless. Burgers small but tasted pretty delicious. May be good option to go double if you’re hungry! Sick location you sit in the sky in the tram so Melbourne lol.

Service: ★☆☆☆☆ Food: ★★★☆☆ Design: ★★★★★ Waited 10 minutes downstairs for a table, only to get upstairs and see just 2 tables were actually occupied. The staff member wearing a mask was extremely unwelcoming. From the first greeting, the tone was aggressive and unfriendly, not the kind of vibe you expect from any restaurant, let alone one that charges this much. After being ignored, I had to walk up to the register myself, and it still took 10 minutes for someone to take our order. The burger was okay, nothing special. But the Impossible (plant-based) burger tasted bitter and unpleasant. Only good thing? The interior design, looks cool. But that’s not enough to save the experience. Never coming back and definitely don’t recommend it for the food or service.

Had a great experience at Easy's. Friendly staff! I didn't have to book because i went around lunch time. I can see why, around dinner, you would have to because of the limited seating. I had the bacon cheese burger and mac and cheese bites. Loved the vibe walking to the train cars. Would eat here again.

Easey's is one of Melbourne's most distinctive dining destinations, featuring train carriages on the roof for a truly one-of-a-kind experience! It’s a trendy spot (a must-visit for influencers) and perfect for capturing photos of both the food and the quirky setting. We ordered the Rowdy Double Cheeseburger, Oklahoma Fried Onion Cheeseburger, and Chili Cheese Sweet Potato Chips. The Oklahoma Fried Onion Cheeseburger was my favorite. The first bite was decent, but with each bite, the flavors became more satisfying, and I ended up loving it. The Rowdy Double Cheeseburger felt like a high-quality take on a McDonald’s Double Cheeseburger — tasty, and I enjoyed it as well. Unfortunately, the Chili Cheese Sweet Potato Chips were disappointing. They weren’t hot when served and had turned soft and slightly soggy, which took away from the experience. Overall, Easey’s is a fun and unique place to visit, ideal for capturing great photos and soaking in the atmosphere — even if not every dish hits the mark.

Google
Went there yesterday with two of my siblings, Great food, I especially liked the chips, plenty of great options for all kinds of budgets. Was super cool eating inside an old Hitachi Carriage. Also really appreciative of the service and the communication from them and I'm super grateful to the restaurant for accommodating our needs, especially when we arrived 15 minutes late after our train from Albury/Wodonga got delayed in the outskirts of Melbourne and required a change to the Metro train at Broadmeadows. Highly recommend checking this restaurant out.

Yelp
We encountered this restaurant on socials, of course. What drew us was the ability to dine in a train car. However, when we arrived, all of the train cars were full, and we do not have a reservation, which we were unsure that we could make. We were offered a table on another section of the rooftop restaurant. You order with the QR menu. We opted for a double patty cheeseburger and then we ordered two bacon cheeseburgers and a side of chips as well as a Coke. Super cool funky vibes overall with the graffiti and view. We were able to take a picture of the train car, which is super cool. The food came out rather quick. All of the burgers tasted delicious and had plenty of toppings on them. The fries were also delicious. It was one of our favorite meals while visiting Sydney. Definitely recommend to others.

Yelp
This is a one of a kind gem well worth the stair climb (and you need it to work off the burgers there) to the motherland of a unique culinary experience. They have an old train on the top of the building that overlooks Melbourne. They have amazing burgers that hit the spot no matter your hunger and a flavour that you will never forget. If you want to be ruined for burgers for the rest of your days...Easey's is the place to be!

Yelp
My friend bragged that this place had the best burgers in Melbourne and the challenge was on. Lodged atop a mid rise is this post art exhibit railroad car, climbing 4 flights of stairs you reach the dining area inside one of these cars. Wide variety of burgers and an even wider range of options for your potato. The burgers were very good (still need to try the other place my other friend claims is the best) but the tots covered in cheese and gravy were amazing as was the dim sims. Trendy place in Collingwood worth a visit.

Yelp
I'm an avid follower of Jimmy's Burgers on IG and knowing I was going to Melbourne with a bunch of guys, knew we had to stop by Easey's. We made a booking online for the train carriages and that was pretty seamless, so pro-tip: you should make a booking if you want to sit in them. The venue is cool...real cool, as is the service. Everyone here is chill and accommodating and they even have Coors Light on tap. Winning. Decor: 5/5 Service: 5/5 The menu is pretty straightforward and you can customize your burger however you want which is a bonus. I got the Double Easey Cheesy with a Potato Rosti which they said has never been done (muahaha) It went...OK. Burger is on the small side and the toppings were decent, but the meat was overcooked and bland. Was a bit disappointed after having high expectations. The mac and cheese was good as were the fries, but the chicken was poor. Definitely a cool place to hang out and munch, but burgers are better elsewhere.

Yelp
I've been wanting to stop by this place on my last few visits to Melbourne, and I've finally had a chance to get here. The main reason for wanting to visit was dining in an old Melbourne train. Sadly, this was Sunday, and I was somewhat rudely informed when I arrived downstairs that I should have booked in advance. Anyway, attitude aside, the staff upstairs were substancially more friendly and personable. Service was quick, fast, and the food was marvellous. I can absolutely recommend their Changz Chicken Sanga, which was a simple and flavoursome burger, with a perfect chicken fillet with crispy skin to boot. The price was right, not too much inside the burger, and a bun that holds up all the way through the eating. And of course the ambience. Yes, the idea of eating inside or amongst a train carriage might not be everyones' idea of fun. But it's interesting, and makes for a nice change. Word of advice: If it's busy and they're going to seat you outside on the roof, give Easey's a miss on a hot day. There's no shade sales out there, and it can make it quite uncomfortable.

Yelp
Overall a very good burger. Menu was very inventive and a very cool restaurant. I recommend going here if you ever visit.

Yelp
Love this cool burger place as the dining experience takes play within a train carriage which has graffitied lounge area and bar. The burgers are scrumptious with plenty of flavours, easeys burgers, mac n cheese is yummy, dim sims yummy and their chips you can't get enough . I've been many times and taken friends who have loved the experience. On the flip side donuts are average and service can range depending on days you go. Highly recommend this place, def book in advance to ensure you experience train carriage dinning.

Yelp
It's been a long time coming for those of us that have been waiting for Easey's to open since the train carriages were spectacularly placed on the building roof some time ago. After a few false starts, and a pop-up, the doors are now very much open for business. No need to mind the gap. (Will save further train puns for other reviewers!) The Easey Cheesey burger is the focus of the simple menu, with a few additions to bulk it out. Take them, as we tried one normal and one with bacon and jalapeño and the latter was very superior. Those used to a bit of kick will want to add some of the chilli sauces too. Fries were nice but small serve only really suits a single person so get the large if sharing. The motto, as the name of the street and the place serendipitously suggests, is simplicity. And starting at $6 you can't begrudge if it is missing some of the bells and whistles other local burger places may offer, but at the end of the day it's kind of just a notch above any other cheeseburger if I'm being honest and ignoring the hype: more American diner than In-N-Out. The fit out though is terrific and cool - graffiti covered walls, train ticket tables, and of course the carriages themselves which are even more impressive when you take in the Collingwood and city views. Will be back for some beers soon to soak in more of the new cool kid on the block vibe, and it's definitely somewhere to take visitors to wow them, but I wouldn't go back just for the burgers alone (not when there's a Rockwell double smash right around the corner anyway...) Fit out and vibe = 5 stars Burgers = 3 stars Thus, settled on a 4.

Yelp
Prior to arriving in Melbourne, as a food addict, I did some research on places I must visit. So, a list was compiled and Easey's was on the top. Who would have thought that old train carriages on top of a building would be such a hit? We found the Ground floor bright and airy with modern trimmings. We were tempted to enjoy our hangover breakfast here, however, the call to be on the top floor with a view beckons. Into the lift we trooped. The entire space was simple; a tad kitchy with graffiti decorating the stairs and the trains. The staff was casually attired, with friendly demeanour. We ordered a burger each with a side of mac and cheese to share. Everything we ate filled our void for greasy food that warm the soul. All in all it really is such a cool little hangout with an awesome view of Collingwood and surrounds. Kids friendly. Prices was very reasonable. Will be back - gladly!

Yelp
Unapologetic dirty burgers meets creative graffiti / hip hop / subculture vibe, it's no wonder the people keep flocking to Collingwood's newest rooftop restaurant. The hidden wonders inside Easeys keep the locals coming back - excellent coffee, genuine service, winning selection of brews and spirits and of course the masterpiece - a train on a rooftop! Fare raw food menu is creative and stark contrast to Easeys, offering organic plant based sweets, breakfast, lunch and smoothies. This way Easeys can stay true to what they're all about. Something for everyone! Make sure you book if it's the train you're after, but the place is huge so if you're more flexible then roll through any time for your fried food or raw food fix. Windows are tinted and it seems hard to find from street level but just remember it's the 3rd train (coming from Smith). And how are the burgers? Good quality meat, lots of sauce. Burgery

Yelp
Honestly, I think this place is all about the setting, not the food -- it's a labyrinth of rooms and floors stacked on top of each other, crowned by two old-school train carriages on the rooftop, with excellent views out to the Melbourne skyline. Eating in a stationary train carriage atop a building felt a little strange -- I kept expecting the train to start moving. I was also tempted to show my myki card on several occasions. Gah. Long story short, though, aside from the cool setting, I don't think the food is anything to write home about. I'm vego, but I was there with 5 burger-loving friends, and none of them were blown away by their beef burgers. I think Easey's is probably less of an amazing eating place and really just more of a good place to come and drink a couple of beers with friends while checking out the unique setting. FYI, for large groups who can't squeeze their collective cheeks into the interior train seats, there are two sections of long tables outside to provide the typical hipster Melbourne rooftop drinking experience. Service was also very good, even though they were slammed-busy when we got there. Anyway. Highly recommend for the creative setting, but not for the food.

Yelp
The look of the restaurant itself is so unique! There's different floors to this place. Graffiti throughout the place. 90s hip hop music bumping through the speakers. You can eat on the train on top of the building. Interesting burger menu. Put Mac and Cheese in my burger. Just in awe of this place with so much character. This is a must visit in Melbourne.

Yelp
Great concept, Odd location. Situated in an otherwise quiet street of Collingwood, easey's is a big and condensed venue; lots of stairs and storeys and rooms scattered about, each with different rules. Some drinks are only for upstairs, other drinks can only be had in certain levels and at certain times of the day. It seems to be a victim of it's own success; swarming with customers, everyone wants to sit in the same areas, so seating becomes limited and fill up very quickly. This is made worse by big groups and families who seemingly decide to sit themselves down, whilst staff are running around trying to catch up. The regular serving of chips is pretty small, tres mal!, Meanwhile the burgers unfortunately feature the yellow-orange American cheese crap, with no other cheese options to choose something else as a replacement. Probably best not to go on a Sunday if you want a drink, though most of the times it is very busy with everyone wanting to eat in the train carriages. It's pretty hectic here, and not really the place to go for a chilled out or quiet meal. Otherwise, staff do what they can, but the sporadic seating arrangements and tiers of the venue combined with renowned popularity leading into a influx and torrent of continual customers does make the process of finding a spare space to sit quite challenging.

Yelp
Took a friend here to try something a bit Melb. He was impressed by the unique set up and also the burgers. Must say, the burgers were incredibly tasty! Albeit a bit small. For two people a burger each and fries to share is a good amount to order. I also quite liked that they fit us into a reserved table since we weren't planning on sticking around for long. I recommend checking out this place for the novelty as well as the food. This is evidenced by the number of people who were eating even on the ground floor!

Yelp
I have to admit, I was a massive sceptic when trying out Easey's for the first time. From the rave review and the fact it's the brainchild of one of Melbourne's undisputed burger King's, to the crazy fit out (graffiti everywhere and Hitachi trains fitted on the roof only to name a few features), and the fact that you have to book (unlike most of the best burger joints that just focus on making the best burger possible) and the staff carry iPads and earpieces (again, unlike any of the best burger joints). As it can be seen, I was doing everything I could to not like this place because it was so different to everything else seen in Melbourne so far. However, after the first bite of the double patty beef burger, all the negative thoughts went out the window. I was seriously impressed. No burger (maybe except for 8bit) came close to being engineered so perfectly. Every ratio ever thought up by burger lovers (ie. meat-to-bun and cheese-to-meat ratios) were spot on. Every single bite was amazing. What was also amazing was the price. I can't quite remember numbers, but both times I have been there the burgers are more than reasonably priced. The beers however, unless you're happy to drink Melbourne bitter, is not so reasonable. But that doesn't matter since the burgers were that good. On a side note - the chips were okay. Definitely complimented the burger, but nothing special.

Yelp
Easey's was my first food establishment visit in Melbourne and it did not disappoint! This low key restaurant has four levels/zones and a rooftop outdoor seating, two of which I went to. Zone 1, you can order to-go and make reservations. You can order drinks while you wait, which I did. Staff was very pleasant, easygoing and genuinely interested in chatting with you! Zone 4-the train was pretty cool. I sat in the front of the train where the controls were, seemingly perfect for a party of one. Train also suitable for bigger groups! Burger was great and definitely must try the donuts!!!!

Yelp
You want to do some hipster watching? Come here. You want a tasty burger? Don't come here. Beef burger plus tots with a cider ($30... $30!) Beef patty was cardboard dry and thin. Unimaginative and small flagship burger. Totes... just totes on a bowl, which is fine. They come with mayo. Awesome beats from the bbox though. Cool staff. Just not a place for burger feasting.

Yelp
YOU'RE IN A TRAIN ON A ROOF who cares what you're eating......... Well. You probably do that's why you're reading this. Burger was tasty but overpriced. Can't remember which one it was. Double cheesburger maybe. Payed $17 for it which was way too much considering the size. Chips were very tasty and nicely seasoned Taste was a solid 9/10 very tasty Value for money (food) 6.5/10 Overal value for money 10/10 If it was anywhere else I'd be very dissapointed for paying that much for a burger. But you're paying for the experience. Decor is unbeatable. Decomisioned train carriage covered in graffs on a roof. and to make it better they were playing dr dre

Yelp
On a date with an architect, we speculated 100 ways the Easey's 4-story restaurant might have been designed. How does one manage to get train cars on the roof of a tall building?!? Easey's is quickly making a name for themselves with big, unapologetic burgers. I'd give 5 stars on the Double Easey alone: it was PERFECT. It's a shame the staff and total experience bring the average rating down. The chicken bites and chicken burgers are fresh, smokey and hot, definitely a highlight. The fries are ok but far from great - we were literally trying to knock the salt off of them they were so overdone. Fries are also strangely portioned, where the sizing options are either tiny or big enough to kill. Fountain drinks with free refills made the long wait more bearable in spite of the hopeless wait staff. Venturing upward it is the real highlight of Easey's: old Melbourne train cars on the roof, turned bar + dining area. They've preserved the vintage seats but reworked it into a functional and fun space. The ladies' bathroom on this level is very cleverly done. Reservations are a must for this section, but if you rock up you can still go in for a peek. Staggered across 4 levels, a bar, a takeaway counter, two separate menus (I have not sampled the vegan menu from the ground level)... Easey's clearly has a lot going on. I think it's got great potential and is worth a visit, but for this trendy / grungy diner I'd definitely suggest going with a reservation and a lot of patience.

Yelp
A place to try just for the expericence but in terms of tasty burgers, it wasn't that amazing. The setting is great and eating in a train carriage on a rooftop is something you definitely can't get elsewhere but the too easey burger felt like it was too heavy in bread. The menu items are your standard american style burgers with an aussie twist of dim sims and potato cakes. It definitely leaves you feeling super full if you get the lot!!
google avatar

Shane F.

Yelp
This place has only been open a short time but it already seems to be evolving. The menu has changed to obviously make it easier for punters to just get a burger (don't have to think about all the things you want to add to what was the basic Easey's cheese burger) and I'm sure it makes it a hell of a lot easier for the staff and kitchen crew to just bang out those burgers. After being kinda spun out on our first visit (theres a lot of different floors and rooms) I found it a little less intimidating to go there a second time. My burger was again really good. I'm not a massive brioche bun fan so this place automatically rocks my socks cause the ain't using brioche. I heard rumours that they do the dim sims, pop tarts and other deliciously deep fried side in a beer batter made with Melbourne Bitter. I had to try, I grabbed a serve of the dim sims and they were bloody good. I'd go back just for the dim sims and a cheeky beer! It's super casual, its a themed venue without being super kitch, the music has been awesome old school hip-hop both times I've been, the burgers are great, it's licensed and you can book. For a casual dinner out whats not to like.

Rachael S.

Yelp
saw this place on tik tok and looked super interesting and had catches my eye immediately, knew I I had to give it a go. Ordered a simple fried chicken sandwich, executed well with simple ingredients on a soft pillow bun with coleslaw, pickles and sauce. From there I had ordered the Mac and cheese side dish. I had been a little disappointed with the overall look and lack of taste that had been delivered. Lacked seasoning and a creamy texture. I suggest adding bacon or breadcrumbs on top for a crunch and salty flavour. Overall would give it another shot

Yelp
This is an interesting place with an upstairs housing a converted Australian railway carriage. Great views from here of Abbotsford and surrounding area. Place serves mostly American style burgers. Recommended for the upstairs unusual decor or if you like American style burgers and fried chicken. A lot of restaurants seem to be going this way but I hope it doesn't last, this style of food isn't something you want to have years on end due to its high carb and fat value. You have been warned.

Yelp
What a find. 4 stories up, take your seat in an old school train carriage that should take you back to your high school days... At least the seats are clean on this one! Great beers on tap (although everything ran dry while we were there - sort that out guys) and typical burger and diner style food, the only let down here was the slightly chaotic and disorganised way the team went about things. We waited about 45 minutes for our booked table - not great. The food is good and the burgers were dirty and delicious. The potato cakes were the best I've had in my life. Skip the macaroni cheese - tiny portion and not the best. Sigh. The hunt for delicious mac and cheese continues! The novelty of sitting in a train carriage up in the sky is the real winner here. It was fun. Go during the day when the views are better enjoyed.

Shaun M.

Yelp
Hadn't heard of this place before coming. So I wasn't excepting much from here, but I have to say I was surprised at how good the service and food were. The burgers are one of the best I have had in ages.

Laura H.

Yelp
Atmosphere - this is why you come. Dine in an old train car on top of a roof. I thought it was a really cool concept. Quality of food - burgers were very good. Chips sprinkled with chicken salt were also good. Service - fast with no issues. Value - normal. $50 for 2 burgers, one small chips, chicken tenders and 2 large cokes. Get the $5 large Coke as it is really is large. To note - No alcohol on Sunday's before 6pm. Make a booking on their website.

Yelp
I really wanted to love Easey's. Four levels high, with an old metro train carriage converted into a diner style eatery at the top, what's not to love! The food unfortunately let Easey's down. As everyone else has said, the setting is really cool. You can catch a lift rather than hike up the stairs & for bigger groups there's some big rooftop tables outside. There's also downstairs area which is still a pretty lovely setting, just minus the train & the view. It gets really busy but they have easy online bookings on their website. The menu is American-style burgers with two vegetarian options, plus some snacky stuff (Mac n cheese, fried chicken). The double cheeseburger was pretty spot on & up there with some other American style burgers on offer in Melbs. Unfortunately the fries were underwhelming (& served luke warm), as was the fried chicken (not enough flavor). We were there early when they weren't too busy so I can't blame the kitchen being run off its feet for the let down. That being said, the experience of being sky high in a train with a view over Collingwood, Abbotsford & the city is worth a visit to Easey's. Maybe just have a burger & a beer.

Yelp
Limited seating options, and given its new found popularity (in part from the gigantic train carriage gimmick on the roof) you'll want to get here early to get a good spot. Staff seemed a little unsure--when asking for a Double Easey with their veggie option (a potato cake) we were told that, no, the veggie option only applies to the basic Easey, the exact same burger but with only one patty. They were very confused. The potato cake option sounds delightful, but in practice was soggy and flavourless; there are definitely better veggie burgers going around for equivalent prices. (And yes, I'm aware that asking for a veggie burger is considered sacrilegious by some, but Easey's decided to offer the option) Atmosphere is okay--they had some good music playing on the speakers, and it was a pretty casual place to hang out for a while. Food came quickly, but the quality and quantity was just not as good as you'd given the price range.

Yelp
The old train carriages on top of a four story building is a great idea, and I remember when they were first constructing it, and thinking how fun this bat would be. Unfortunately Easey's is not the Collingwood fixture I think that they had hoped it would be, it's essentially just an overpriced burger joint. The food is just okay, the staff always seem over it and the weird distance between where you walk in and the trains makes it feel a bit isolated if there are just a few tables eating. I think this would make a great 'tiny bar' but for now the other reviewers are right, it's just a bit average.

Yelp
Good theory: old, converted train, plucked onto a rooftop, serving burgers. Trés Melbourne. Came here on a recco from a friend that lives nearby and shared the Rowdy Double and the sriracha wings with The Boy for our second lunch. Burger was a bit bland for my liking. I would have loved a greater mustard to meat ratio. Sadly there were no condiments on the table for me to sauce things up. The wings were cooked in sriracha, with sides of sriracha and mayo, and not much else. Overall, great concept, but not enough execution to get me back.

Yelp
Great place, train cars awesome, nice staff, food average. Wife liked basic burger, my eggplant was tasteless. Everything is face and finger food so messy as hell. No drinks in trains on Sunday until 6pm, due to neighbours. Conclusion, visit once and bring non-foodie tourists.

Yelp
The setting was great, we sat outside next to the train and there was a view and despite the cold outside it was pretty warm where we were. Food was average. Regular chips were very small. A happy discovery was that they are happy to change the meat patty for a potato cake in their Easey Cheesey making the burger into a vegetarian (maybe vegan without the cheese and mayo) potato cake sandwich. Not particularly exciting but good to know if you are heading there with friends anyway! Beer selection was terrible unfortunately :(

Yelp
Second time attempting a visit to Easey's today. Turns out to be not so easy after all. Firstly i have to say how excited i was to see Melbourne with such a cool venue that looked from afar to potentially be international. Well, first visit many months ago we were quite abruptly told from ground floor that nothing is available on top. Of course we wanted the train top experience so decided to spend our money elsewhere on that day. Today's visit we were greeted by a friendly chap on ground floor who commented he didnt think any inside tables were available but invited us to walk up the stairs to the top and possibly get a seat outside. Up we went only to find we could have caught the lift but for some reason were asked to walk. The outdoor area was feral to put it politely. Looked like nobody had cleaned since last night session. We observed approximately 5 or 6 empty tables , some with reserved signs , some not. We could only see one waitress at this stage so waited for her to finish taking a groups order where she sat down on the table with them and had a good old chat including a great long story about why they cant serve alcohol on sundays. We lingered around her from all different angles eagerly awaiting some basic eye contact. Someone else came in from outside looking frustrated that they also had not been observed or served. After no shorter than 5 minutes of almost standing on top of her we decided to leave. Of course at this time she gave us our first look but made no attempt to engage us. If this too cool for school attitude is indicative of this venue then i might just buy a quarter pounder and hop on the sandringham line. Chooot choooot , se yaz Easeys.

Yelp
Coming from the states, this is the best burger I've had since being here. American style and delicious. Prices were fair and service was quick and friendly. It's also really fun to sit up on the rooftop either in the subway car or just outside. Big fan of this place.

Yelp
Great burgers, good mix of young and older people, the music was a little bit loud but other than that it is a great concept. Went on a week day at lunch time and it was busy but got a seat in the train carriage.will be returning.

Yelp
Probably the worst service I have seen north of the river. I don't have an issue with hipsters I'm a local after all. Rude wankers who think their shit don't stink well that's another matter. Dirty place smells like beer and why book if we can't eat on the roof. Burger was lame, had the Melbourne burger with dimmies which could have been legendary but sadly was far from it. Perhaps you should stick to writing books and reviewing places that are much better than yours.

Yelp
Having lunch at Easey's on a beautiful Autumn afternoon was great. The food was picture perfect (although we didn't take any), the service at its usual high standard. Still beating 8-Bit, Huxtaburger & Brother Burger in the Melbourne #burgersafari experience.

Yelp
We ate here tonight and it was buzzing! Burgers are super tasty and the owner went out of his way to ensure we were enjoying ourselves on a crazy busy night. If it was appropriate to eat burgers with bacon and cheese everyday I would!

Yelp
Trains are a cool novelty. But I got the chicken sanga. The bread was stale, chicken was dry and bacon had become jerky. Told the guy at the bar he said it was a sandwich not a burger so it doesn't have to be nice :(

Yelp
A great place for burgers. Nice beef patties, non greasy, tomato, lettuce, cheese and a pickle all included in the basic burger. The chips are a bit too salty for me. Skip the Mac & cheese and the corn fritters. Everyone wants to sit in the train, so best to book for peak times. It's easy to book online.

Yelp
We got there to see the trains. We had to walk up stairs to the 3rd or 4th floor. Apparently the lift was not working. When we got there it was fully booked. "when might a table be available?" we asked. "Urh never." Some sort of passive aggressive response I suspect. As the kids were hungry we sat down stairs. The rap music had the F word in it, the chips were fried batter and the cigarette smoke wafting in from the street was passive smoking at its best. "Never" is right....never again.

Yelp
I was dragged here by my friends who love the place. For the price, the burgers were okay. I have the eggplant burger but it lacked depth and flavour. I'd say maybe that's The price for being a vegetarian but grilled seem to get it right. My friends did like them eat burgers though however again for the price could have been better. I had the eggplant chips as well and to be honest it felt like the eggplant had died days before. I am a big fan of eggplant chips and these were not amongst the best. I did have the potato cake which to be fair with one of the better potato cakes I've had in a long time. The place was freezing even though we sat in front of the heater. I know I sound like a whingeing customer but the experience was overall okay. Not horrible, not amazing, just okay. The service was good and attentive but could have been a bit more personal. That being said I would give it another go and I would ask for jalapeños on the burgers ;maybe that's what it was missing.
