My better half and I came to Savannah on July 1st, to stay over the holiday weekend. We had both been to the city before, and I was here most recently, in 2017, where I stayed in another one of the Historic Inns of Savannah. We chose this hotel largely because of the location, which is excellent - but also because of my experience with another boutique hotel.
There were a few minor complaints - like another member mentioned, no pool, though I don't think this is uncommon in Savannah. We had a few issues in the room that were all easily fixable - lighting was sparse in the bedroom, and the bathroom had a tub that wouldn't hold water, and a sink that wouldn't drain. Again, minor issues, probably specific to our room.
But the positives greatly outweighed the few issues we had. The staff was extraordinarily friendly, and in a very genuine way. The bed was comfortable, there were drink coupons that were redeemable in the bar attached to the main lobby, and the rooms had water and popcorn, a nice touch. My girlfriend and I laughed at the crooked elevator inspection notice every time we got into the elevator, and if I had had a Phillips screwdriver, I would have fixed it. That's how nutty out complaints were. This was a marvelous city to visit, and much of the comfort was due to the great staff at the East Bay Inn.
