The staff here are amazing- so welcoming and helpful. The hotel has great amenities and the rooms are so elegant yet cozy. The decor and architecture of the building was like stepping back in time! The beds and pillows were very comfy and I didn’t miss my own bed the whole time (6 nights) we were there. The location is perfect to walk anywhere you want to go! We would love to stay again if we come back to Savannah!

Right on the main road across from the water & dock area. Quaint older Savannah Hotel with restaurants on site. Rooms were very nice & quaint. Jennifer was always so nice & helpful from the minute we arrived. Drinks, water, tea & coffee at your service with treats in your room each night & beer or wine! Lovely place to stay! Our favorite place!

East Bay Inn is not only our favorite hotel in Savannah, but probably one of our favorite places to stay anywhere! The historic building adds charm to the clean, well maintained rooms. It's in a great location to walk every where you want. Mallory and the entire staff go above and beyond to make sure your stay is everything you hope!

First, this is an older inn, so you can expect creaky floors. The East Bay Inn was exactly what we thought it would be. The staff was AMAZING. I never felt such a warm welcome from everyone (Jennifer, William, Charles) The location was just right. Aside from the creaky floors, the room was large, the beds were comfortable, and the bathroom was clean. We had a blast listening to ghost stories about the place. ;-) There is construction next door, but it did not interfere with our stay because by the time they started work, we were up and getting ready to go about our day.

Stayed 4 nights, highly recommend! Fantastic location, we walked to nearly every activity and restaurant. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms very comfortable and clean, loved the original brick and wood floors but with updated furniture and bathroom. This hotel had everything we could ask for and would definitely stay again if I’m back in Savannah.

I don't understand how I missed this gem the 1st time we'd gone to Savanah. This East Bay Inn has a great location, walking distance to the olde pink house restaurant, and the Riverwalk which is literally crossing the street and go down stairs to take you to other restaurants n just suitable to anyone who's willing to take a chance and be alongside the river. The service was exceptional. She explained everything to us and what was available to us for just staying at the Inn. Parking was perfect. I mean im a picky person but this place was cozy and inviting, it's like a historical boutique. I would definitely go back. The young lady and gen were awesome. You cant get more southern than the hospitality that we received. Im sorry I cant remember her name but the young lady that assisted me on May 21,2025, Thursday around 230pm she was the best she knows who she is. Then the young man during the evening was top notch. Thank you for making our stay a memorable one.

Old hotel in need of updating in many areas. However, the rooms are oversized and very historic. No smart TVs and limited power outlets were a bummer but tolerable. Creaky floors and poor sound insulation make for a noisy stay from other guests walking and talking inside the hotel to the outdoor street noise from construction work and traffic. Not horrible but need to be prepared for it. Just a little attention in some key areas would definitely lift our overall rating.

Excellent location! I walked to everything with ease while visiting. Great hotel staff - very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely - historic yet modern amenities. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

Yelp
Savannah is full of great and historic places to stay. We stayed at East Bay Inn for the first time and we think we found a new favorite. This cute inn is located in an amazing spot in town with River Street across the street and walking distance to most major points. The staff were some of the friendliest we have encountered and truly wanted to make sure that you had a good stay with them. We had a Classic Queen room which was a perfect size on the 3rd floor. The ceilings were amazingly high and there were beautiful brick walls. While this hotel is older and historic it still had a nice classy feel to it. You get great amenities including daily bottled water, daily snacks, drink coupons and discounts at the restaurant. We are looking forward to staying here agin and trying one of the larger suites next time. I highly suggest this in for your next stay in Savannah.

Yelp
Fantastic accomodations! So much history and rich decor. From the floors to the brick walls and the great personality of the valet I enjoyed my visit! Very close to the Savannah Street Market as well. The room was so cozy and clean. Enjoyed the old ambiance in the lobby area as well.

Yelp
What a great walking pub crawl ghost tour and Dani our guide dressed as a pirate led the tour and she rocked it out. We had so much fun learning about the bar and it's sorted and tortured past and history. And we learned that Savannah has over 30k bodies buried all around. The spirit of those souls walk the streets and haunted places such as this historic place. With each stop, cocktails and shots were recommended and they were delicious. At the East Bay Inn, the drinks were delicious. If you want a fun and educational way to learn about the city, you can't go wrong with a walking bar crawl ghost tour.

Yelp
My wife and I stayed here for Valentines Day and we had the most memorable experience ever! The inn itself was built in 1852 and has amazing history, and the furnishings and decorations really made you feel comfortable and it was very inviting. The staff was outstanding! Our innkeeper, Susan, had a bottle of champagne on ice and a box of chocolates waiting on us when we arrived, and Lauri Elder was awesome at suggesting things for us to do while in town. This was by far the best place in Savannah we have ever stayed! As we were leaving this morning we were already talking about coming back soon.

Yelp
We loved our room here, very clean and cozy. The bar next door and little cafe downstairs were perfect! We will be staying here again.

Yelp
We stayed at the lovely East Bay Inn last week. We had two rooms that were very clean. The staff were helpful and charming. Miss Jennifer at the front desk was particularly helpful. She made sure I got a parking space upfront in the parking lot and was kind and friendly. The bellman came up with some great suggestions for restaurants. We chose his number one suggestion and we had a delicious dinner. Cleaning service was very friendly and told us she prepared our rooms and hoped we would be happy. The room was perfectly prepared, no shortage of towels and it all looked so crisp and tidy. We were totally unaware that the hotel is known for paranormal activity so we were not prepared for the activity taking place in our rooms, one of them being the infamous room 325. Once we learned that "Charlie" the resident haunt was not an evil spirit we were slightly more at ease but that first night will have us telling that story for years. So, if you're looking for a really charming hotel in the historic district of Savannah with a mischievous ghost then I highly recommend the East Bay Inn.

Yelp
Beautiful boutique hotel within walking distance to everything. Room was gorgeous, bed comfortable and the daily snacks left in our room - a nice treat. Bathroom is a tight squeeze - you literally have to sit on the can sideways in order to fit. Knowing that the hotel is possibly haunted kind of had me shitting in my pants every time I got up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom.

Sonja D.

Yelp
Nice hotel but cleaning in room could be better. The room had a musky smell. Found dirty sock on floor and trash from last person. Also, the staff were not very accommodating when it came to the elevator. They would push their way in instead of allowing the guest to go first. We had high hopes for this beautiful hotel. Maybe they will read this review and make some changes. Parking is very tight. So if you have a large truck it's going to be quite a task to park.

Yelp
Came to Savannah for a work trip and really wanted to try out a Boutique Hotel close to River Street. Well, this one is in the ideal spot on East Bay Street, one street across from River Street with a stop light for easy access and steps right there when you cross to go down to River Street. After booking this, I found out it was haunted so that was a little surprise shock. While I never saw anything during my stay, I did have sleep paralysis one night (which I was told on the ghost tour that this means a witch is sucking your energy from you). It was pretty freaky but I've had that happen to me before and I was told the ghost here isn't harmful. Thank God my son left Spongebob on every night . So, I'll go over my likes and dislikes: Likes: - Close proximity to River Street - Close proximity to Trolley Tour Booth - Close proximity to Boars Head Tavern (eat there!) - Adjoining bar that serves up decent drinks and eating options - 1 free drink ticket for each person on each day of your stay for Tandem's Spirits (the adjoining bar) - High ceilings, modern furniture, comfy bed, free water bottles whenever you need them, couch in the room and comfy chair - Friendly staff - WiFi - Hotel truly is boutique - Pricing isn't bad at all Dislikes: - No pool - No gym - Parking deck is located about 200m away (price added back into room) - No room service (Tandem's Spirits is their in-house place) Honestly, I only bumped them down a star bc I didn't have a gym option. Everything else was amazing about this place. My son loved it too. I would certainly come back here, and would highly recommend this as a weekend get-away option for couples. You seriously have almost everything you need right there at your fingertips.

Yelp
We just left the East Bay Inn! it is the most beautiful hotel with the sweetest staff ever! The rooms are gorgeous, clean and comfortable...not to mention historical. And the resident ghost, Charlie keeps things interesting! The location on Bay Street is close to everything and they have an awesome bar and a great breakfast/lunch spot in their lower level! We stay here 4 times a year...can't imagine staying anywhere else! We'll be back next week on our return trip home from the mountains! It never disappoints!!

Yelp
The East Bay Inn, located across the street from the Savannah Historic River District, offers an excellent place for an overnight stay. Many positives, such as the location, the gorgeous antique room decor and free happy hour in the lobby. I have stayed twice at the East Bay, once in 2015, and most recently October 2018. My first visit I stayed on the first floor and my dog Roxie was traveling with me. Yes, they are pet friendly for an extra fee. They gave me a nice doggy bag filled with natural treats from a local pet supplier. I loved this room! It was gorgeous and cozy! On this visit breakfast was provided in the basement and it was a high quality deliscious buffet style. My second stay I was located on the second floor in a king bed suite. Both rooms were on a corner of the building which was nice as that meant more huge windows and a view. I was on the front of the building both stays. The room comes with a TV, bath robes, but no fridge. If you have something that needs refrigerated you can take it to the front desk and they will put it in a fridge for you. I was disappointed when I checked in and found out there was no more breakfast being offered. I was told they stopped offering breakfast a few months ago. Lack of breakfast is why I'm giving a 4 instead of 5 stars. This spot was listed as a bed and breakfast.....but without breakfast lol. I can't forget the free happy hour in the late afternoon. Free wine and snacks such as cheese and crackers, chips and salsa, and a few veggies and dip. This was a nice touch and it brings the residents together to talk all things Savannah. Ronnie the Innkeeper is great! If you have an issues ask for him and I'm sure he will solve it! There is a $15, per day parking fee. Very little parking in their lot, but they have a deal with a parking garage close by for when the lot is full. I suggest arriving just before check in so you can get a spot in their lot.

Yelp
Really awesome location and places. (Covid) Staff was safe with masks and tons of hand sanitizer spots around the inn. We stayed one night but spent a lot of time around learning the history. Great location but don't pay for parking with them ($16). Go a half a block down the street to the left and they have 24hr parking for $10. Room was very spacious with two queen size beds and a sweet couch. Go to Ellis Square and check out the restaurants and shops to the north of it. Georgia Wine Tasting is sweet drinks too. Perfect location to the river area (we even saw the sunrise and sunset off the water) and walking distance to everywhere including the historic area. Word to the wise... walk and check out all the squares and the Forsyth Park and go on a tour at the Davenport house or the Sorrel-Weed House. Also check out the Cotton Exchange Restaurant on the River, right down the street from the inn.

Yelp
I would like to make this 4.5 stars but obviously can't so I rounded up! The floors creak a bit (yes, I know, it was built in 1852 so that's normal I guess), the toilet paper was ultra thin (weird, I know), but otherwise the place was perfectly located, staff was very very helpful, amenities great, decor on point. Def would stay here again without a doubt. (Btw, it is pet friendly but it sure doesn't sound or smell like it so good work whomever on that!)

Yelp
Beautiful, lovely historic hotel in the heart of Savannah.. you can't beat the hotel or the location. The staff is wonderful, the hotel is beautifully appointed and the best thing is they take DOGGIES and they even get a welcome bag. The rooms are so nice, not huge, but they don't need to be, they are just perfect. You just walk out the door and you're right in the heart of shopping and restaurants. You won't find a nicer hotel and you just need to be in a historic property in this city...it all goes together.

Yelp
Amazing! Only 28 rooms in this hill hotel ! I cannot say enough from the staff from the restaurant Debbie's downstairs! The staff is amazing from my check in to my check out I felt like it was my friends and family they were taking care of me I will be back

Yelp
So much charm. Savannah is a special place for my wife and I. I proposed to her in front of the fountain at Lafayette Square! This Inn is beautiful, reasonably priced and perfectly located. The street noise can be a little much during weekends with events but that's to be expected off of Bay & River Street. Room had its quarks which made it feel like a historic inn. Highly recommended!
google avatar

Yelp
Great service, perfect location and clean historical building. What a great way to set the tone for a visit to Savannah in this charming inn. We loved the vaulted ceilings, exposed brick and comfy bed but the service is what stood out on this stay. It was also super convenient to have breakfast right down stairs. Weekend getaway - this is a great option.

Yelp
I planned a long road trip for the summer with my dog, Millie who I knew was dying and I wanted one last hurrah with her. River Street Inn across the street was unwilling to make an accommodation. I found East Bay Inn, crossed my fingers and made the reservation. Sadly, my dog died a few weeks before my trip began. I kept the reservation and am so glad I did. Yes, the place is dog friendly. I met a few doggies in the reception room. That was a delight. Did not hear anyone bark the entire stay, two nights. My room and my friends' room was immaculate and gorgeous. I had a private patio that I just loved. I expected to find signs of dog hair or other marks, but I did not. Very clean, lovely room. I will stay here, again and again. And I hope to have a dog in tow next time. I visit Savannah three times a year. I usually stay across the street at the River Street Inn. I love the old world charm and sound of the boats in the morning. The place has it's detractions though, it's a bit pricey, there's always one or two "ick" factors, and they don't allow pets. But I come to Savannah 3-4 times a year so I put up with the detractions. Now that I now about East Bay Inn, they are now my choice place to stay. --- Just one complaint. and this complaint is not against the Inn.. All the hotels and Inns have a relationship with the many available trolley tours in the city. I have seen them all. The one they promoted was SOOOO BAD. The guide was awful, but that isn't too annoying, because you can always get off one bus and take another with a different guide. The big issue, was they used actors at random stops to tell a history of savannah. It was hokey and awkward and icky. and we hated it. lol. They started the tour with a man imitating Forest Gump, and really it just came off as incredibly insensitive to people with special needs. And it was DOWN hill from there...

Yelp
Our experience here was 5* and not just because of the beautiful rooms and amenities, it was their staff that made our experience SPECTACULAR! This is a MUST stay if your in Savanah. The location is prime and walking distance to everything. This establishment is also dog friendly. Our favorite person was Ernie he went out of his way to help us, even put together our wagon. Loved, loved, loved it here.

Peter S.

Yelp
My better half and I came to Savannah on July 1st, to stay over the holiday weekend. We had both been to the city before, and I was here most recently, in 2017, where I stayed in another one of the Historic Inns of Savannah. We chose this hotel largely because of the location, which is excellent - but also because of my experience with another boutique hotel. There were a few minor complaints - like another member mentioned, no pool, though I don't think this is uncommon in Savannah. We had a few issues in the room that were all easily fixable - lighting was sparse in the bedroom, and the bathroom had a tub that wouldn't hold water, and a sink that wouldn't drain. Again, minor issues, probably specific to our room. But the positives greatly outweighed the few issues we had. The staff was extraordinarily friendly, and in a very genuine way. The bed was comfortable, there were drink coupons that were redeemable in the bar attached to the main lobby, and the rooms had water and popcorn, a nice touch. My girlfriend and I laughed at the crooked elevator inspection notice every time we got into the elevator, and if I had had a Phillips screwdriver, I would have fixed it. That's how nutty out complaints were. This was a marvelous city to visit, and much of the comfort was due to the great staff at the East Bay Inn.

Yelp
East Bay Inn was the most historical place to date I've stayed in Savannah GA. It's beautiful. Super clean. The front desk concierge was so pleasant & helpful. The wine service/servers were superb. A nice touch. I couldn't have has a better stay. I'll for sure be back. *Ask for room #322 simply breathtaking. Perfectly located on Bay St. a very walkable area to food, nightlife & shopping. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Rachel C. Las Vegas NV

Yelp
You know how hotel rooms never look like the pictures they post on their websites? This one does!!! It's incredible. It's so roomy and comfy and spacious. I swear to god they're not paying me to say this. I'm sitting in my king size bed right now, happy as a clam. I could spend the whole weekend in here. Free water, free soda, free wi-fi, bath robes, luxe bath products, restaurant in the hotel, free drink tickets for the bar, centrally located. I could go on. The only downside I could think of is it's a little pricey but honestly, it's totally worth it. I looked at all the hotels in the area and this one landed somewhere in the middle in terms of cost. In terms of amenities, I am floored. I usually go for the lower tier hotels cause I am a cheap, no frills person. I'm glad I didn't this time. Worth the extra bucks. Edit: After reading other people's reviews I feel I must mention there is some noise if you are on the 1st or 2nd floor. (Street noise/light steps from the floors above) I'm from NY so the ambient noise really doesn't bother me, I can sleep through cars honking, but not through a stampede of children or dogs above me. Haven't heard any of those, just light footsteps.

Yelp
Had a great stay here. We chose the east bay in as we were wanting to stay in a historic hotel that was walking distance to downtown. The east bay inn did not disappoint. We found them initially through Expedia, but booked direct (as we know Expedia takes a 15% commission from hotels) The staff were incredibly friendly as soon as we arrived- the manager (or owner) even came out to greet us and upgraded our reservation to one of their newly remodeled rooms. Even the bell hop was kind and friendly. The room itself was beautiful, original exposed brick on the exterior wall, and the original steel posts (I don't think that's the right word). My only suggestion is that they could upgrade to some thicker, down alternative quilts with duvet covers. The blanket was a little thin. Concierge gave us the full history of the hotel (in spite of having recited it a million times I'm sure) and recommended a great local restaurant to us within walking distance, Tondee's Tavern, where we had a fantastic meal. Unfortunately we were only able to stay one night after spending a week in tybee and had to hit the road at 4:30am (ouch!). The hotel gave us a wake up call and the girl working the front desk at that ungodly hour gave us an upbeat send off. Highly recommend a stay here. One random tip if you happen to be leaving Savannah before 5am...make sure you gas up before leaving town as there is literally nowhere open to get gas as soon as you hit the highway.

Cindy W.

Yelp
What a find! This small Inn was delightful! Even though it's a historic building from the 1850's it's been remodeled. The rooms are spacious and well appointed. Lots of towels, high ceilings, great decor, strong WiFi. The bed we had wasn't super comfortable but the blankets were perfect for snuggling into. It's surprisingly quiet given the prime location for local activities. They offered ear plugs but the night crowd usually disperses by 11. There was only one night it got a little loud on the ground floor. I expect the upper levels were probably pretty quiet all night. The highlight was the staff. In our three day stay we met several. They were all friendly and helpful. Offering suggestions and being very accommodating when we added a day to our reservation. Parking was $15 a night with in and out privileges. There are several on site spots and a parking garage just one block away. This is literally walking distance to everywhere! We didn't drive our car any time while enjoying Savannah. They offer a free drink at the on site bar each night for each adult in your party. I think I'm now spoiled for future stays in the area. The big corporate type hotels can't compare.

Grafton S.

Yelp
Great location and extremely friendly staff. However, the room was filthy. There was dirt in every corner, under the furniture, behind the toilet. They definitely need to do a better job of cleaning between guests.

Laurie M.

Yelp
This was a really neat place. Old renovated building, with big southern furniture. We heard about the ghost, "Charlie", but never heard from him. The staff here is very friendly. And the hotel is literally minutes from everything. We walked across the street and down the stairs to River Street. We turned left or right and wandered up and down Bay Street. There is minimal parking on site, but directly across the street there's a parking garage with free parking courtesy of the hotel. We parked our car once on arrival and never left the garage again until we headed home! There's a bar and a restaurant in the hotel building, and they offer a discount. We visited both, and had no complaints about either. This was a nice stop on our week-long southern vacation.

Yelp
Loved this hotel!!! We planned a last-minute overnight trip from Charleston and chose this hotel based on location (River Street is across the street) and were so happy we did! We were in a Deluxe King and it was great. The room had so much character and was extremely clean. But the best part was the staff. From check in to check out, every employee we encountered greeted us so nicely. I have to admit Ernest was our favorite though. Take any of his recommendations! Long story short, you won't be disappointed!

Matt K.

Yelp
Great weekend stay. Small hotel, but has lots of history and character. Room was big with tall ceilings.

Yelp
This place was great! Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff that welcomed us as soon as we walked in. We had a large historic looking room with great amenities and a nice view of E. Bay Street. Close walk to everything and only one block from River Street. Small parking lot but very close to a garage to park in if needed. This place was great all around. Would stay here again next time we visit Savannah.

Yelp
Love this hotel! Such an amazing place to stay. Short walk to River Street and many great restaurants. The rooms were a bit humid but it is an old hotel built in the 1850's with a lot of character and original brick walls, floors, etc. David at the front desk is the sweetest and very knowledgeable and helpful. Might have even had a visit from the friendly resident ghost, Charlie!
google avatar

Anasone S.

Yelp
I have to say this is one of my favorite place to stay. Love the fact that it is right across the street from River Street. Also it is within walking distance of restaurants, bars, shopping, and historic sites. The staff is welcoming and helpful especially Ernest, David, and Jennifer. They even arrange a historic tour for us. Also, the complimentary drinks was a nice touch especially after a long drive.I highly recommend this hotel because of those complimentary services.
google avatar

Christy G.

Yelp
Rachael is amazing and we had such a warm welcome! They were very happy to have us and our pet, Dave. Very pet friendly and even had a gift bag. Thank you so much! This is our third stay over many years and will continue to choose this establishment over others.

Yelp
My fiance and I stayed here in June for his 40th birthday and we could not have been happier. They upgraded our room to the beautiful corner suite. The hotel is both historic and modern which was a really nice combination. The evening cheese and wine was a really nice touch and the staff was wonderful. Melvin the Bellman and Hank, who served the wine were part of the incredible charm of this place. It's also situated right across from the river walk and within walking distance to everything we wanted to see/do: Pirate House, Old Pink House, Leapolds, Forsyth Park (a bit of a walk on this one). We both highly recommend this place!

Kristin M.

Yelp
What an absolutely lovely place! Staff is hands down outstanding, extremely helpful, professional and polite. We have stayed at every possible place in SAVANNAH that allows dogs and this one is my favorite places to date. Great location, as your within walking distance to pretty much anything and everything. Our room was very clean, well decorated, brick exposed walls, quite lovely. We will definitely be back. Thank you East Bay Inn for all your hard work!

Yelp
Stayed Sept 12,2020 nice visit beautiful room and hotel. However, I sort of felt cheated and would not stay again. They said their over flow parking lot was Lincoln parking garage and they would validate my parking ticket so I didn't have to pay when I left out. Guess what the hotel charged me $16 parking fee since they validated my parking ticket and I didn't have to park the garage $10 for overnight parking. I had rather paid the garage the $10. I wouldn't recommend them just for being dishonest of a few dollars. Come on be honest with people and get repeat business cheat them even out of just a few dollars and they will tell everyone not to go there.
google avatar

Wendy C.

Yelp
We really enjoyed staying here. The room was beautiful with the high ceiling and exposed brick. They give you bottles of water and a free drink every day. The staff are super friendly! No Charley experiences that we know of. Heard a few sounds but may have been in our heard. We stayed in 325, his room, it was creepy but nothing to report really. I would recommend this hotel!

Yelp
I got this reservation the night before we spent an overnight in Savannah on our way back home from Holden Beach. I must have got really lucky because our rickshaw driver told us that the East Bay Inn is usually booked months out. This has to be one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. When we got back to the room the bed was turned down, that was a great surprise after a night of eating, drinking, and sightseeing. Our room was gorgeous and the bed is really, really comfortable. Real hardwood floors and original brick walls. I would gladly stay here again anytime (if I can get a room). They also had complimentary cheese and wine, and the best pink lemonade. The only downside was, that I didn't get to see Charlie, their resident ghost. Maybe better luck next time.

Yelp
Just a beautiful beautiful place to rest and relax in. Coming from Hawaii, this nostalgic inn has been beautifully appointed capturing the beauty of the by gone era. Service personnel were very fine! This is also a pet friendly inn.

Yelp
This place is awesome! The front desk is very informative and friendly. We give kudos to Julie , the manager, and the rest of the staff who took good care of us during our stay . The rooms are spectacular. The beds are very comfy. We had the privilege of staying in Charlie's room and felt very comfortable. There are beautiful antiques all around the property. We totally enjoyed the evening wine and cheese. The breakfast was nice in the Skyler house. A very convenient location near to everything. I would highly suggest this place to anyone coming to Savannah.

Yelp
Lovely B & B in the heart of historic Savannah. Location couldn't be better. We were astonished and delighted that this historic inn allows pets & brought out two Boston Terriers who were very comfortable in the large beautiful suite we had with a private patio. Comfy king sized bed, nice furniture and very high ceilings made this room worth every penny. Average, but acceptable breakfast provided every morning. Wine & cheese hour was a big bonus as they served decent wine and gave generous pours and refills. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. I would definitely return here.

Yelp
We loved this hotel the first time we came to Savannah. Went back before Christmas for a few days. It was not the same experience! The toilet was not clean (ugh), bathroom was tiny, room size was great. We were told when we called the 3rd floor suite was ours, it wasn't. Second floor you hear the people walking above you. Warning it's a very dog friendly hotel but if near the elevator expect your dog and others to bark. Our last morning the barks started at 5:45. I hope management reads this.. if your coffee machine in the room is broken there is no coffee available. Downstairs restaurant says open at 7:00, tried at 7:45 told not open yet. Last comment, there is a huge difference between desk clerks. One was not warm or particularly helpful. One at night was delightful. Sadly, We won't be returning.

Yelp
Lovely...historic...cozy! I LOVED staying in one of the historic inns of Savannah! The corner king suite on the top floor facing the river was amazing: a large entry area upon entering and a huge room that includes very tall ceilings, two exposed brick walls, gorgeous crown molding and 3 windows. The sitting area has a sofa, 2 chairs and a coffee table. The bed and pillows were comfortable. The historic district location was easy walking distance to everything. Every staff member was helpful, personable, and genuine. Parking is available onsite if there is room or in a parking garage 1.5 blocks away for only $15 per night. The hotel lobby is inviting. I highly recommend East Bay Inn! This room was amazing so there are only 2 small suggestions. There needs to be a floor-length mirror somewhere in the suite. Revisit bathroom lighting as it seems pretty dark.

Yelp
This was the best experience we could have asked for. The room was comfortable and beautiful. The staff was great as well. Ernest was so kind and helpful he made our day. Jennifer WOW she made our experience! She is kind and welcoming and made everything easy and fun. We will come back just because of Jennifer and the way she made us feel so welcome.

Yelp
We came here for a short stay. The concierge staff is very pleasant and helpful. Our room was sooo beautiful! 15 foot ceilings, brick window wall, elegant furnishing, view of beautiful river walk trees. We were both disappointed with the breakfast offered for $9.00 per person, so we only ate there once. The courtesy nightly wine/appetizer offering is very nice. Since it is a historical building, some amenities are on the modest size like minimal closet hanging space and no mini fridges. Other than that, we would recommend this hotel for its historical beauty and hospitality.

Yelp
We've been staying here for years and wouldn't change a single thing about it. They're pet-friendly, personable, and the rooms are uh-mazing -- decorated to the nines with a southern Victorian style that wholeheartedly represents Savannah and its southern charm. Customer service has always been pleasant and prompt. The wine and cheese hour is always a treat to indulge in before your evening plans and their breakfasts are sufficient. Is it haunted? That's up for debate. But I will say that I've gotten the chills more than once when I turned out the lights for beddy-bye time. Just ask the front-desk attendant about Charlotte. Oh and I forgot to mention the location. Placed on Bay Street and Market, East Bay Inn is the perfect local between River Street and the historic district. You can walk anywhere and leave your car parked throughout your stay, which is huge for us because we feel like what better way to see gorgeous Savannah than walking it?!

Yelp
It's amazing how some people treat you when you're out with your dog, even at "dog-friendly" places; You'd think that I was walking around shirtless and shoeless, spitting on babies or my (extremely sweet and well-behaved) pup was pooping on everything everywhere. Likewise, getting a clean, decent hotel in downtown Savannah that accepts pets without some obnoxious $100+ pet fee is no easy feat, as I have learned. I'm happy to report that pup and I received no such treatment at the East Bay Inn. On the contrary, the staff was very warm and friendly, our room was small but cute and intimate in all its old-fashion-y Southern 'Rococo' splendor, and OMG, BF and I almost died when we were told about "the complimentary cordials served in the evening." (Unfortunately, we were only staying one night and didn't make it in time for that, but next time, East Bay Inn!)

Yelp
You know, some hotels in America are so over consumed with the "In times" and all the state of the art crap that they forget the actual art of hospitality. Not this place. The concierge was lovely and the first question they ask you, is if its your first trip to Savannah. If it is, they give you some great tourist pamphlets (not the cheesy kind) and then give you their recommendations. After you check in, they give you actual old keys (not some electronic slide key)...I mean its brass...like made from the 1800s. Fo realz. The rooms are so cute. Four poster bed, with floral comforters. At first glance your like...um ew. However, its actually really sweet and works perfectly with the whole atmosphere of the hotel. The room is very large, complete with sitting area, large TV and a very luxurious shower. It's in a perfect location to the river and great shops and dare I say...fudge shops. Mmmmm. Everything is within walking distance and the places are one of kind....good luck trying to find any shop like this in LA, NYC or Dallas for that matter. Ok, back to the hotel. Obviously I'm not going to stay anywhere but here. There are honestly a ton of hotels in Savannah, but I think this is the best. Not because its the only place Ive stayed there, but because I cant imagine staying anywhere else....it's that perfect. Enjoy!

Yelp
Next time I stay in Savannah this is where I will stay. The staff are amazing, the rooms are plush & decorated in a romantic fashion, and it's close to shopping & Riverstreet.. My boyfriend & I attended a cocktail hour in the evening with some of the other guests and were treated to a lovely breakfast in the morning. I loved our bellhop Melvin. He was an absolute delight! Very informative too telling us all about the room & cool places to go. We enjoyed a night out on the town and when we returned chocolates on the pillows and the CD player playing romantic music! I enjoyed my experience here. My only problem would have to have been the parking situation...there is not much parking outside the door however, they do have a parking deck near by. Our stay was definitely amazing and I will go back next time I'm in Savannah.

Yelp
I was blown away by the 5-star customer service we received from the second we stepped onto the property. Hank, the bellman, opened the doors and was instantly warm and welcoming and friendly. He whisked our bags from the car to our room immediately. We were then treated SO KINDLY by the amazing concierge, David, at the front desk, who got us checked in in a matter of moments. The room was absolutely gorgeous, with exposed brick walls and 18" high or so ceilings. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything was very clean. The windows were at least 5" high as well. They offer a daily 1.5 hour complimentary hors d'oeuvres and wine. We were greeted by name every time we saw either David or Hank. David even talked to my boyfriend and I for a really long time and told us about the history of Savannah and the hotel and gave great recommendations. This hotel is truly walking distance to EVERYTHING. I don't think I've ever been treated more kindly at a hotel and was so happy to have chosen to stay at this place and can't wait to come back.
