This is perfect for a lovely breakfast with ready made breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and bakery items. Also a fun place to find gifts !! An absolute must visit for East Boothbay. They also have great deli selections and premade options in their large refrigerator section! Great cookies and cakes! Parking is somewhat limited but worth a visit.

More of a cafe & boutique than a general store. Prepared meals, fresh bread, freezer of ice cream tubs, and East Boothbay merch (clothing, souvenirs). Friendly staff. We also attended a party with tasty food catered by EBGS (including salads, rice and maple-glazed tofu, and beautiful & delicious cupcakes).

A must stop on our family trip to Boothbay every year. When we stay for a week each year I’ll typically go 3-4 times that week. The staff is very friendly. The breakfast pizza is something I dream about when I’m not there. The weekend donuts are great. Amazing salads & sandwiches. A great atmosphere and you can also pick up some cool gifts!

An awesome place for a quick bite. They have grab-n-go sandwiches and salads if you're in a hurry (The Gobbler was my pick), but they also offer pizza and some seafood wraps and rolls (seasonally). My wife tried the haddock wrap that was available at the time, and we were impressed at the quantity and fresh taste of the fish. Great and friendly service make this a very welcoming stop as you explore Coastal Maine.

We love the Boothbay General Store . Just bought their pizza and it was delicious. We can also walk there from our house to get goodies. Dangerous that it’s so close. Their cookies and muffins and lasagna are great.

A must stop for us whenever we are in the area. From savory to sweet, they do it all and extremely well. Counter service is always outstanding. Breakfast this time for us with the breakfast pizza, croissant egg with sausage, and cold brew iced coffee. Make this a must stop when you are in the Boothbay area.

Delicious muffins, soups and sandwiches. Pick up a treat to go and enjoy it while overlooking the water at nearby Ocean Point just five minutes away. Friendly staff, lovely shop, it's a popular place among the locals, summer residents and visitors to the region.

What a wonderful gem of a business. Everything is e trembly flavorful and fresh tasting. Liz does an excellent job of providing quality food for her business. Love her soups and the sandwiches are great. The store itself is also very quaint. Love this place.

Every time we stay in Ocean Point, we make at least one trip to the East Boothbay General Store. Usually, we pick up sandwiches (call ahead) before we head out on a hike or pick up breakfast sandwiches on our way out of town to return to our non-vacation life. We ordered six sandwiches yesterday for our lunch before going on a kayak trip and were told it would be 40 minutes before we could pick it up which was fine. However, when we arrived at 12:40pm the sandwiches weren't ready and we ended up not receiving them until 1pm. In recognition of our extra wait (which really wasn't a problem - they were clearly slammed with phone orders) they threw in five huge cookies (which was totally unnecessary). The gesture was very much appreciated and the cookies were delicious and worth the extra twenty-minute wait! Next time you're in the area, be sure to pay a visit to the East Boothbay General Store!

The coffee here is so good. Iced latte or iced coconut mocha - so, so good. Wouldn't expect out of a small general store but it is 5 stars!

This place has wonderful food. We especially love the breakfast sandwiches. But they have an incredibly irritating and unpleasant attitude. The staff and owners seem to have a negative attitude toward their customers. Many times we have been told that they can't make a pizza even when we're ordering it well before they close. They are reminiscent of the Seinfeld character, "the soup Nazi." It's as if there is some secret code, and if you violate it, it's like "no food for you!" I find it incredibly irritating to have to order my food, while holding my breath, hoping that I'm doing it exactly the right way, so that I can get passed these food "nazis." Honestly, I find dealing with them so difficult that I go there about one out of 10 times when I could.

Love this place. Super friendly service and good selection of food and drink for a small joint. Everything I've tried has been good, but my favorite sandwich is the bahn mi, Vietnamese style sandwich. Tremendous flavors, shredded pork and veggies on.a baguette. Beats a l$35 lobster roll any day.

The breakfast food is good. The customer service, behind the register is generally snarky and rude.

This may be the most well-rounded eatery I've ever encountered. We spent most of the week going there for breakfast, lunch and even dinner. Refreshing Ice coffees, delectable muffins, unexpected flavorful lobster rolls, fresh salads even super tasty pizzas. Like a five tooled player, these folks do it all. Honestly, they have no weaknesses and I'm actually looking forward to going there every waking moment next year when we return to Maine.

I got a sandwich ( the Nate) and it was amazing. We were dying of hunger and this tasted so good. Employees were very nice. Recommend if you are in the area

Man I wished we hadn't eaten just before we got here. The sandwiches looked awesome. Had a brownie though and it was superb! All the bakery items looked top notch. And the Mexican hot chocolate - oh my goodness- best hot chocolate I've had in my 71 years. Has cinnamon and clove in it! Super creamy and tasty. Get it. Go here.

Stopped by and had a pulled pork sandwich. Recommended by the woman who worked at the counter. She was spot on as it was Very good

One of my favorite places. Literally everything is good here from the pulled pork sandwiches to the pizza to the peanut butter cookies. They also have a nice selection of local craft beers. Oh and their breakfast sandwiches are bangin. 10/10 would recommend.

Lots of lobster but WHY WAS IT SERVED ON A BAGUETTE. All of the bread really took away from the star, the lobster. The store is adorable. I would have liked to try the buffalo cauliflower sandwhich.

There food is wonderful from years past when I had no eating restrictions but unfortunately since going dairy free they really limit to all dietary needs. I asked if there was dairy in their scrambled egg and they said yes, so I asked if I could have a plain fried egg and they said they couldn't do that for me? So I couldn't get any breakfast option. This is the only reason I am giving a bad review because their food is great it's just really unfortunate for people who have restrictions

Walked over to get some breakfast on a Wednesday morning. Counter person was pleasant, small crowd milling about waiting for their orders. Plenty of things to look at while waiting for my sandwiches. Coffee was made immediately. Wait was about 10 minutes, which was fine with me. Spicy maple sausage sammich was superior to any dunkin sammich - real scrambled eggs, felt the mild heat of the maple, all on a toasty griddled wrap. Winner. Parking lot was full when I got there, so walk if you can!

We stopped for a lobster roll and I was pleased to find large chunks of lobster meat in a fresh baked roll. This is one of the best tasting lobster rolls I've had! We will definitely be back for more!!

This was a great find! Thanks, Yelpers! We stopped here for lunch and were happy with the wraps we got. I had the buffalo cauliflower wrap with cucumbers, shredded carrot, lettuce, and blue cheese, The hubs got spicy Thai peanut wrap with chicken, cucumber, carrot, scallions, red pepper, lettuce, and peanut sauce. We had some unsweetened iced tea and Deep River chips to top it off. The wraps were substantial without being unwieldy and tasted great. The shop is tiny: only four tables inside, but it would be a great idea to get your lunch to go and take it over to Ocean Point for great views. They do get busy, so it can take some time to get your food.

We love the general store! Another hidden gem that has a true love for food and good flavor. All the sandwiches are killer and the sweets give you the perfect finish. Best molasses ginger cookie I've ever had! Besides the food they have tons of extra snacks, tasty treats, local made products and items and all sorts of things. They definitely support the locals! Staff is very nice, organized, and keep a clean and tight ship. Highly recommend.

Good coffee, breakfast sandwiches, and their breakfast pizza is the best pizza in Maine. We did take out but there are plenty of tables inside. This was a great alternative to taking the kids to a sit down restaurant.

Open year round and so grateful! We take every visitor there for sandwiches and might sneak a pint of ice cream home too. Great vibe and very good sandwiches!

What a treat. Stumble on this after a conversation with a gallery owner. The food selections are such a treat from triple berries muffin to a Bahn Mi on a crunch French roll. The ginger ice-tea was refreshing even on a chilly rainy day. It has the warmth and touch of "home" with the elegance of a gourmet shop but not the pretense. Will definitely visit again when I'm in the area.

Great spot for breakfast and lunch in East Boothbay. Liz and her team do a fantastic job putting out a gourmet menu of items in a relatively small place. Here you can find hot and cold sandwiches made to order, pizza, baked goods, wine, the New York Times, a great selection of drinks, buoy ball (a baseball bat game made from lobster buoys), clothing, unique art, and much more. The only downside is that they do not have a rest room, but the firehouse just across the road has a public bathroom so it is not too much of an inconvenience.

Outstanding. Brought my Dad for coffee and breakfast while visiting...and came back each day for more. Muffins and coffee are outrageous. Best homemade muffins ive ever had. And quite a variety. Returned for lunch; Cuban and roast beef sandwiches were amazing and unique. Great portion and delicious. Tons of other choices available. Plenty of wine and craft beer selections as well as pizza and Boothbay momentos. You can always tell when a business is owner operated, and Liz knows exactly whats up. CHECK IT OUT

What a lovely little gem! We were staying at Ocean Point Inn and made sure to pick up some food before they closed for the night. The pizza was excellent, and I'm from NY so I'm picky! We ordered the prosciutto and arugula and everything was well balanced and fresh. I was bummed to find out they were out of lobster rolls for the day though. Before we left town, we also picked up some breakfast for the road. I had an egg bacon and cheese on a croissant that was very good albeit a little too crumbly from the toasted croissant. My fiancée had the spicy maple wrap and he said it was very good too and it looked huge. The coffee was fresh and strong as well. If I lived in the area this would be my go to place!

Daisey Doodle (mini Labradoodle) and I are summer residents of East Boothbay and one of the many highlights of the area is the East Boothbay Store. A very welcoming place where every morsel is delicious and the staff couldn't be nicer or more helpful! It's a must visit if you are in or near the area!

The food was SO GOOD. Delicious salads and sandwiches. There isn't much seating at all, but it's a cute little store, with a nice vibe. Best Cuban I've ever had! Definitely recommend. We will be coming back again tomorrow!

Quite possibly the best general store in east booth bay. Good for breakfast and coffee or a sandwich later in the day. Only complaint is the the treacherous parking situation.

We walked out to Ocean Point from downtown BH and as it turns out, back to the the EBGS. We were wiped and when Liz, the proprietor heard what foolishness we had been up to she gave us a ride back to town! That's not the best of it, I had the best morning glory muffin ever and having read the previous reviews, now have to return for a lobster roll. Thanks again Liz

I have been coming to the General store for years. Liz Evans runs a great place. The summer weekend donuts are worth getting up for. The muffins or cinnamon roles make a great substitute if it's a weekday or they run out of donuts. The pizza is made on a very delicious dough. The Nate Special sandwich is very tasty as well are many of the other sandwiches. We often pick up icecream from her freezer, morning coffee, and a newspaper. If you are staying in Town, she is worth the trip over to East Boothbay. I have also gotten catering from her. My guests raved about the catered food made by the East Boothbay General Store. Her food made the party great. We plan to start ordering dinners from the General store catering next summer. If you are looking for unique East Boothbay gifts, her store is also thoughtfully stocked with beautiful local items.

This is one of the best lobster rolls. it's no a nice crusty bread with a hint of lettuce. This is our second visit for the lobster roll. Better get there early because they tend to run out!

Great 'old general store' atmosphere & great pizza (we just get pepperoni, with its chewy crust - our favorite, it's a winner), among other treats await you here! Happy to have been here, and will be back! Have visited this place for years and hope to for years to come. Oh, if ALL of life could be as East Boothbay General Store is, well, (big sigh here!) Make the short drive, and make your stomach and your soul happy! Great job!

Sandwiches and baked goods were very good. After a few hours of taking photos at Ocean Point, this place was a pleasant surprise.

The pizza is TO DIE FOR! My friends have a house up here and this is their Go To Spot for all things Pizza. Also has a cute little store with some local goods for sale and they do catering as well.

Really good gourmet pizzas and sandwiches! Also, they have a very good wine and specialty foods in their store section.

This is an adorable general store. The wraps are very good and we have heard that the pizza is the best in town. We will have to try that during our next visit. Very pleasant staff!! It's a great place to grab something then head to ocean point and watch the sun set. Don't forget to try a homemade cookie. They are delicious!

Yummy sandwiches, salads and soup for a quick lunch after visiting Ocean Point. Best part: Oreo Cheesecake Brownie. Local artwork and cute gift ideas for sale too. Nice place to escape the overly crowded scene in BBH.

Visited EBGS on a recommendation for a great lobster roll. Quaint little place with some novelty gifts and awesome fresh baked cookies The lobster meat was well seasoned and I liked the mixed greens on the roll. I didn't care for the frozen mass produced crunchy baguette and for $25 per, a fresh baked roll would justly the cost. The sandwich selection was intriguing, if we make it back to Boothbay I'll try a different sandwich for sure. Advice for staff... cheer up!

It's the perfect general store. Fair prices, nice selection, and very convenient. They have great food, especially all of their sandwiches. I enjoy walking over in the morning for an iced coffee or some evenings for a fresh cookie. The workers are all kind and the the whole place has a great hometown vibe.

Tuna sandwich had only a tablespoon of tuna. It was nearly all bread. The clerk (I think she was the owner) was strident and nasty. I think she hates tourists and aren't we her bread and butter? Located on a dangerous corner. Difficult parking situation. Stay away!

One of the more unique lobster rolls I had in Maine. There is very little of the butter or mayo you'd find in tradition lobster rolls. Instead, there is a hint of lemon in every bite of the lobster meat. The bread used is similar to what you'd find in a tradition sandwich but goes well with the lobster meat and lettuce. Overall, a twist on the normal lobster roll that is very enjoyable and delicious

Did a quick stop up to East Boothbay and grabbed breakfast at EBGS and, as usual, loved it! I only have two complaints though, first they didn't have Lox (I was really looking forward to that one) and second, they aren't open Sundays this time of year. Can't wait until next summer.

Parking is a bear, but the food is perfect for a picnic.
