Google
Everything you want in a brewery experience - fresh, reasonably priced beers, tasty food, great service and a chill atmosphere. Located in downtown Blue Springs, cannot recommend enough. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!!

Stephanie Baillie

Google
Great relaxed atmosphere! Good attentive bartenders! Had snacks and great beer! Self service food pickup after you order. Nice drink selection! Sat at the bar, watched The Royals game, could talk without yelling at each other, and had fun!

Alice Miller

Google
I loved it! We got the local fire pizza and it had just the right amount of heat. My beers were so good especially the Maibock and Second Breakfast. Patio is cozy and dog friendly. Can’t wait to come back.

Lucy Erb

Google
Good vibes and good food. I was pleased to have the option of a gluten free dairy free pizza!

Scott Baker

Google
Stopped in here for a flight of beer with a friend. Each beer was different and very good. There looks to be around a dozen different beers to try. Friendly people and good beer, you can’t go wrong. We did not try the food, but it did look good and a lot of people were eating. The place is right next to the train tracks and it was kind of fun to watch the train go by 50 feet away.

Amber Marie Cayce

Google
Love this place! Easy in and out, plenty of space, great food and beer, and clean bathrooms. Not much else you could ask for! The beer selection is great and covers a good range so there is always a fabulous option no matter what mood I am in.

Taylor Barberis

Google
A great fixture in the Blue Springs community. The Maybee, their spring seasonal beer, is one of my favorite beers of all time. They rotate beers frequently so there’s always something new to try. You can’t go wrong with an order of pretzels or the Mac n Cheese pizza, either. Definitely stop by and check it out.

Google
I go there for the live music, my husband drinks the brews. He hasn't found any that he really enjoys yet, they seem to have a lot of IPA's, which he doesn't care for. I like the atmosphere when the music is going and there's a decent crowd, but as soon as the music is over, the place clears out. It never seems to be long enough, and we always find ourselves looking for another place to go afterwards. We snacked on the meat and cheese platter, and it was so delicious! I could have eaten two! We'll definitely go back for more live music in the future.

Yelp
Nothing beats sitting on a patio with an adult beverage when Kansas City's weather is on its best behavior. Thankfully, East Forty Brewing has one of the best patios in town. It's roomy and expansive with plenty of seating and a few yard games. It's popular, too, and will fill up quickly at peak times. There's plenty of drinking options. The menu boasts a number of styles, plus a few ciders, non-alcoholic choices and even a couple of cocktails. The best beer is your favorite beer and you should be able to find something that hits the spot. Food is available, however the kitchen backs up when it gets busy. Please keep that in mind if you're coming hungry. Entertainment ranging from trivia contests to comedy to cover bands will perform on a small stage inside at times. An events schedule is posted on the brewery's website if you want to see who's playing.

Yelp
This is a very nice brewery with a large selection of beers and a decent sized menu for food. There was live music when we were there, and there were also a few games in the corner. The weather was great so we enjoyed a table on their spacious patio. The people working there were very pleasant but we didn't have a lot of interaction with them. The watermelon gose was delicious!

Yelp
This place is amazing! I can't give enough stars for the beer, the atmosphere, the staff... just amazing. The beer selection is extensive and ever-changing. Options vary from very light to imperial dark and all the good stuff in between. This is the right place to go, sit, and try them all with some friends. The location has couches, games, arcade games, skee ball, outdoor areas, high-top tables, low-top tables, comfy chairs, and often a band. For this outing, they had a Christmas brass band on stage regaling us with some of the classics. They were really good! They have a small kitchen and make the standard bar appetizer food from it. I cannot give an opinion on the food as I have never eaten here, but having it is a win methinks. There is a back party room that can be rented for events. In this case, it was set up with small craft booths and we did the holiday sip and shop there. Very nice! Not sure how many visits I'll make from Overland Park to Blue Springs just to go here for beer... there will be at least one more to show it off to a friend. But I will definitely swing by here anytime I am in the area.

Yelp
Was in the area and had a friend tell me I had to check this place out. There is a large selection of the brewery's beers, cocktail options and non-alcoholic options. They also have a food menu if you are looking to eat. I got the Chicken queso quesadilla, it was a bit odd when the bar staff told us our food was in the window ready, you walk back to the kitchen area and the food is in the window but now one was there to tell us that was our food or anything. They had a guy singing and playing piano that night as well. All together it was a fun place and a great experience. I will defiantly go back and enjoy more of their beer and food.

Jill N.

Yelp
Menu wasn't what we were looking for for eats but the drink menu has something for everyone I had the fruity red sangria Order at the bar and pick up at the kitchen window Several pizza options and some Other things They must not like beef as there were no options for beef on nachos or hamburgers etc but other sandwiches Fun atmosphere and fun music lots of TVs for sports viewing

Yelp
East Forty Brewing was a fun surprise of a brewery. I was expecting a typical brewery experience, but what I got was much more entertaining than I expected. I went here with a few friends to order drinks one night, but we didn't realize they had live music. It was winter, so it was nice and cozy inside, with fun music and good drinks. I also enjoyed that they had games to play inside. We played the games for a while, which was a great way to encourage people to settle in and hang out. I love that they partner with local businesses to host yoga and other events. I wish more places did this, and I'm glad to see a local spot here that does this.

Yelp
Stopped by East Forty when in Blue Springs. It was hopping during happy hour on a Friday. We ordered at the counter and then grabbed a seat. It was fun to hang out and play some card games. We loved the beers. I would go back anytime if in the area.

Yelp
This rating is for the food only as we didn't have any beer. I was underwhelmed by the food. The cheese pizza was nearly undercooked and they skimped on the cheese. The chicken on the nacho was really dry. Just meh. I did love the atmosphere and selection of games available. Also loved that some of the snacks/food are locally sourced.

Yelp
Travelers beware! My husband, a cicerone and IG beer influencer, was so excited to try this Missouri brewery... however, we had to cut the trip short because of poor customer service. As you can see from the pics, there is NO SINAGE stating that outside food is not allowed. As of today, there was NO INDICATION ON WEBSITE that anything other than snacks were available. So, we brought food for us and our children. Sidney (bartender) YELLED across the taproom, "You're not allowed to have outside food!" We had not even had a chance to walk up to the bar. Everyone stopped and looked...we were scolded and embarrassed. We walked up and let them know that we were traveling and had no where else to go. We also let them know that we wouldn't have brought outside food if there was any indication that it wasn't allowed. We have been to over 700 breweries nationwide, and we're familiar with brewery etiquette. After going back and forth, she said she could allow (her word) us we could take the food outside...which was hot...and didn't inspire desire to order more. Gave two stars to the two beers we had which were meh. Wish we had better service so we could have tried more and possibly given a higher rating.

Yelp
We visited this brewery on our way from Utah to Tennessee. The ambiance was awesome! We sat out on the deck and watched the sunset. There was live music. The bartender was knowledgeable and super friendly. We enjoyed all the beers we ordered. We had Right Track, Quarter Quarter, Porter, and Maybee? They were all delicious. If we are ever in the area again we would definitely go back...
google avatar

Yelp
We had a beautiful experience. Beer was great. Atmosphere - perfect. Sheep cheese and crackers . Our sandwich was... uhhh... lacking effort [diplomatically]...? Service was understaffed but helpful and who isnt?! We would go back again next road trip. To be clear: BEER WAS EXCELLENT. the rest doesn't matter after your second ABSOLUTELY EXCELLENT BEER.
google avatar

Yelp
I enjoyed this place! Visiting from Denver. I had a flight, and my favorite was a stout called Second Breakfast. The apps we got were very good, and the pizza was okay. I definitely would go back.

Yelp
Being a non-IPA drinker it is always a welcome surprise to find a brewery that is lacking in IPA's. Everyone has their own tastes, so not putting down IPA's but it is nice to see a good range of flavors instead of 6-8 different IPA, NEIPA, PA, etc. We tried eight different (2 flights) beers they had on tap and were very happy with four of them and happy with the other four. This was definitely a win-win! My favs were Fools Rush In (an Imperial Stout) and Farmers Milkshake - Almond Bark (a Golden Ale with almond notes). The establishment is well set up with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. They also had a nice selection of bottled sodas for the non-beer drinkers. Glad we stopped in.

Yelp
Love music, great drinks, food at a good price. Great vibe. Patio is where it's at!! We had nachos with jalapeño sausage and Buffalo pizza. Fed three of us. Grab a flight and try the second breakfast and saison.

Yelp
What a cool local brewery in the miniature downtown of Blue Springs. This is the kind of place where if it were in my neighborhood, I'd be there at least once a week. But it's not in my neighborhood...in fact it's not even close, but I'm glad to have been out here a few times to see what it's all about. The space is beautiful, with both the patio and interior being big and welcoming. It's hip but certainly not over the top. Same goes for their branding. The beers I've tried are great. I particularly liked the Sunrise Saison that was balanced and very drinkable, light bodied beer that still has a ton of flavor. The Nitro Stout is also very good if you're into that kind of thing. Haven't tried much food wise but it seems like their pizzas are the way to go from what I hear. Very cool spot that you should check out if you're on the east side of the metro!
google avatar

Yelp
We received a delivery of the 12 Craft beers of Christmas. So cool to see a business pivot like this in these crazy times. I know we would all rather enjoy our beers at East Forty but this will have to do in the meantime. Every beer has been a delight- and we love Nate's daily videos. Creative, informative, and relatable. Love seeing what East Forty is doing and happy to support them!

Yelp
This is a nice little hang out spot to have a fresh brew, a cocktail and/or pizza. The staff is very knowledgeable about the brews and friendly so you will know what to order. The evening I visited was absolutely gorgeous outside! It has an outdoor patio and games to play while you're hanging out.
google avatar

Kathy M.

Yelp
This is a really well thought out venue with lots of locally sourced items. The outdoor space is good - lots of picnic tables and outdoor games. They also have Skee ball, arcade games and plenty of board games available. I love the fact that they offer cocktails (I can vouch that the old fashioned is good!) wine and of course, their beer! It makes their place a better choice than a straight up brewery when everyone is not a beer lover! They also offer pizza (the cheese they use definitely reminded us of IMO's) and some hot pretzels (excellent!!) and dips. I love that they made the effort to offer some food choices! It definitely makes hanging out there an easy decision.

Yelp
This place has a great selection of beer! We tried the Dunkelweizen, Common, Red, and the porter, I normally don't love a Dunkel but this one had a really nice flavor and the finish didn't leave a bad aftertaste like some. The Porter was my personal favorite, dark but not too heavy. The space is large, kid friendly, and clean. It has a great patio for nice weather days, and a small food menu that looks awesome even tho we didn't try any today. Check this place out! It's a nice afternoon adventure.

Ashley C.

Yelp
the service was very poor. my mom and I walked in and didn't get acknowledged when we sat at the bar. we finally had to grab the bartender and nearly yell "excuse me" before she even looked at us. then told us we could not order food at 9pm on a Saturday when it shows they serve until 9:30pm. she never asked if we wanted any drinks either. VERY POOR SERVICE!!!
google avatar

Abby P.

Yelp
I'll usually rate any place with a sour beer option a high amount of stars! This is a neat little joint with a substantial brewing area and great outdoor seating. The cheese sauce, pretzels, dips and pizzas are all great and meet the standard of good brewery food. They have many options and homemade beers. I was a huge fan of the sour beer that calls for an add-in of a few different flavors. If you're out east, give this place a try!
google avatar

Danielle S.

Yelp
Discovered this brewery because of our pub pass and it is now one of my favorite spots! It's the perfect size where it doesn't get too crowded with just the right amount of beer selections (roughly 10) and other drinks. They also host music nights and other events! They do have a full food menu. I have yet to try it.

Yelp
I Drove 32 Miles to Get Here and It Was Worth It. East Forty Brewing is in Downtown Blue Springs, where it will, most likely, spark a rejuvenation of development to bring in folks looking for a good brewpub to drink great beers. They brew their beers onsite, so you will always get fresh, unique beers you can't find anywhere else... Until they start distributing their delicious beers. Typically, 10 of their brews are on rotation, along with other beers, wines, hard ciders, cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks. So you and your friends should find something you like. They also serve appetizers and 12" pizzas to compliment the beer and drinks. But make no mistake, you go for the beer--the food is merely and accoutrement to the beer. I ordered their Right Track IPA and the Nitro 2nd Breakfast Porter. Both were great, crisp, and smooth beers. The setup and ambiance of East Forty Brewing is fantastic. They have a warm, chill environment where you can have great conversations or just relax after work. There's a garage door that opens up to a nice outside patio, with picnic tables, for enjoying nice nights coming up. Overall, you can tell the owners put a lot of thought into the beers, the ambiance, and patron experience. They created a great brewpub pumping out delicious beers and I look forward to the 32 mile trip when I come back.

Yelp
First time to this part of Blue Springs. Easy to find with a rustic sort of vibe...wood beams, barn door. The patio lid great. Quite a selection of their own brews. We tried the Big head Red and Quarter Quarter pale ale ( no I'm not stuttering) Both were tasty. In the pale ale you really tasted the tropical hops. The Red was definitely malty. I was thrilled to see a full service bar here as well. They also carry Rieger's Kansas City Whiskey my personal fav. We had the pretzels as an appetizer and they were great . Cooked to perfection. Well lite throughout, fun games available to play(selection of board games, Skee Ball, Corn hole, etc)

Yelp
The front of the building had me sketched out a bit as I drove up to the building. However, after I pulled into the parking lot and looked over the patio and the tables my fears subsided. I walked inside and saw a beautifully renovated building and outside patio with picnic tables and umbrella to shade you! The beer and drink selection was varied with IPAs, wheat beers and flavored cocktails. They also have a small kitchen that churns out some bomb pizzas and killer chips and salsa! The pizza was awesome the crust was cooked just right and the toppings were portioned appropriately. The chips are organic and have some seed pressed into them that made them taste extra good. I was able to get a tour of the brewery and get an education on how the brewing process works. I had no idea how involved the process was and how long it actually takes.

Yelp
Now I can count on one hand the amount of times I have been in Blue Springs during my lifetime. Mainly because there wasn't much for me to need or want in Blue Springs. That has changed. Now I have to admit, I was there for a Yelp function, but that in no way takes away from the wonderful of this incredible brew pub. The space is open and inviting. Truly casual with a large outdoor patio that is easily joined with the indoor space by garage doors that can be opened when the weather is nice. Now a brewery is of course known for beer. Not only do they sell beers from other local breweries (they had Cinder Block which is my local neighborhood fave), but their own brews are well crafted and truly great. I had three. I had Sunrise Saison, Big Red Head, and Second Breakfast Porter. The food is good too. For starters, we sampled the Soft Pretzels and Dip Duo. Now I am not a huge pretzel fan, but the dips made this one for me. It is served with House Made Beer cheese and Honey Mustard and it as truly delicious. Also had the Spinach and Artichoke Dip which actually seemed to pair nicely with the Big Red Head. we also had one of their pizzas, the Local Red made with Red Wine Italian Sausage sourced from The Local Pig, peppers, red onion, mushroooms, and black olives. It paired well with the Sunrise Saison. I think one of the most wonderful things about East Forty is they are a local source partner. their food options featured artisan ingredients from Local Pig. Their guest beers are from the likes of Cinder Block and KC Bier Station. Their wines are from Kansas City top voted winery Amigoni. This fact alone makes them a one stop shop for a Kansas City sampler So thanks to Adam and East Forty, I now have one very good reason to trek out to Blue Springs.

Yelp
Friendly staff!! TASTY brews! Fun games for the kids so the parents and grandparents can taste a variety of beers. Love the decor! A TV across from the couch would be a welcome addition for we NCAA basketball fans. Did I mention how much we LOVED the beers?!?

Shane B.

Yelp
Great food and beer! Go get some. Out of the way but worth the trip. Blue Springs.
google avatar

Jim H.

Yelp
East 40 brewery is what I consider a trailblazer in downtown Blue Springs. East 40 has made a commitment to downtown Blue Springs and slowly but surely additional restaurants stores and perhaps other breweries continue to follow. Currently, East 40 allows you to reserve your table prior to arrival. This is a nice touch given the craziness 2020. They have a fantastic offering of beers as well as drinks and a menu if you're hungry. We used East 40 as our starting point on a night of exploration. If you enjoy beer and trying new location, you will definitely want to give East 40 a try!
google avatar

Adelaida D.

Yelp
Love the ambiance and live music! They shld have tip jars so we can show our appreciation! I wish we can do song requests in advance! Friendly service from bartenders, cant wait to try more of their beer menu! Hidden gem!!
google avatar

Michelle M.

Yelp
Great beer choices and appetizers-love the street tacos!!! Nice place to sit outside too.
google avatar

Scott T.

Yelp
A place worth the trip as the brews are tasty for an style you may like! The place has a great patio and open area indoors. Great selection of beers, ciders, and cocktails. They've got food options, but we'll have to try them next time.
google avatar

Yelp
Nice vibe. Great beers. The staff are super personable. Will definitely come back. Did not try food so will do that in next trip.
google avatar

Yelp
Great place after a hike to rest your pup on the patio grab a flight to try some options. Fun atmosphere and great people running it.

Yelp
Our go to spot. Great service. Great beer and always trying new things. Always look forward to their new stouts
google avatar

Yelp
Upon entering, I was greeted by a warm atmosphere with well-spaced seating at wooden tables and an outdoor space (umbrellas included). The industrial decor added heartiness to this mainstream, main-street brewery. The staff was more than happy to help and gave suggestions. It was clear that they were glad to be there too. Furthermore, the owner gave a tour to our group of the brewing process. It was neat to see the machines in action. I had the Big Head Red and then the Sunrise Saison. Personally, I preferred the latter. The pizza tasted like traditional bar food: great to munch but not too noteworthy.
google avatar

Julie B.

Yelp
Not busy. No basketball, no football so quiet. Bartender was soo nice and friendly. Unusual for a brewery cuz bartenders at breweries are often stuck up. Not this guy! Beer was very good, lots of choices and have wine too. Will be back
google avatar

Roaming E.

Yelp
I liked this place. First, the staff here are great. Friendly, share their thoughts in the beer, and no problems with samples as you try to figure out what you want. Really like the vibe and layout of the place. Great place to relax and have a beer. Beers were good. Good flavor in the beers so you'll find something you like. They also have wine and other drinks. Daughter is not a beer drinker and really enjoyed their sangria, which they had several flavors of. Only food we had was the Spin/Artichoke dip. It was pretty good. Kinda small for the price, but good. Would like to try other foods on next visit.

Joshua B.

Yelp
High quality craft beers and food in a chill environment; a place you need to try. Every beer was deep in flavor and creative; their rotating milkshake series makes this a place to come back to regularly if you live in the area. It also produced the first pumpkin beer I have ever enjoyed; with seasonal flavors that don't overuse or overpower with clove. The pizza crust was clearly homemade and the local products they use are top notch. They carry local soda and ciders and even produce their own ginger beer. We visited from outside Portland Oregon and the guy tending bar was awesome. We struck up a convo and dropped off a can of beer from our local favorite Great Notion for them to try; it's a fun place with high quality that cares about the beer they brew and drinks they serve. You want to go to there.
google avatar

Becky H.

Yelp
We headed over to this place after getting an invite for a Yelp event. It has a cool vibe and the staff are all super friendly. The beers were tasty, although there never seem to be enough IPAs out here. Coming from New England (land of Treehouse Brewery) we were hoping to experience something similar out this way. But despite that, we got to try some different beers and they also have a full bar which is great for those who may not like beer as much. They also have a small kitchen with some food items. We enjoyed the meat and cheese plate and then went onto the patio to sit. The usual games are there - giant Jenga, cornhole etc. Definitely recommend checking this place out if you're in the area and in the mood for a good glass of beer!

Yelp
If I could give this establishment 0 stars I would, by no means was I expecting a red carpet roll out on a Friday afternoon but to say me and my group were less than satisfied would be a joke of an understatement. It was our first time here and so I suppose it would be "our fault" for not knowing that in fact there is no actual table side service...ooopsie. So from the moment we walked in the door I guess you could say we were a little confused as to how everything was gonna go down. After a little snark from the bartender we realized that yes anytime we needed ANYTHING we would have to in fact come to his "post" I say "post" because there was not one single person sitting at his bar seats but several tables that were seated and he just stood behind the bar waiting for us to come to him for our needs/wants...welp I guess this would be the only time you could officially use the term "waiter" with this one. Anyways I can always over look silly miscommunication as long as there is good food...this would not be the case unfortunately smh we ordered Spinach and Artichoke dip, Nachos, and Pizza you would be surprised but they actually managed to make each one of these items unforgettable. And by unforgettable I will never forget how disgusting and unpleasing every bite was. If I wanted a frozen pizza or some chips with melted shredded cheese and a few droppings of chicken I would have stayed home, also my dog is there to give me the snarky comments and looks while I stroll myself to the "bar" to pick up my beer.
google avatar

Sam T.

Yelp
Not just a brewery but handmade cocktails as well! I consider my self a beer drinker (home brewer for 4years) and I had their seasonal IPA "call me maybe " and all I could keep saying was wow!!! We will be back!!!!
google avatar

Michal L.

Yelp
Great selection of taps, good beer, live music, cool place! I was in town for a night and wanted to try some local beer, this place fit the bill. Parking was a little tricky as it was very busy due to the music but I found a place a few blocks away. The beers are tasty, definitely worth checking out if you are into craft beer!
google avatar

Ali S.

Yelp
This place is dangerously close. I couldn't be happier. It has everything downtown Blue Springs needs: excellent draft beer (both self-brewed and locally-available), ample space (a central bar, several tables, even a couch and outdoor seating!), dedicated parking, games (both board and arcade -- including ski ball), but most importantly hometown pride. If you're interested in their other offerings, they also have wine, cold brew, and kombucha, as well as food (prepare to carbo-load: pizza and pretzels!) We each had a pint of the pale ale and the red. In the craft beer scene these days, it's easy to be underwhelmed, but these guys know their stuff. Easy-to-drink and yet full of flavor and complexity. Service was also friendly. We came opening weekend, so they were still working out some kinks in their taps, but I have no doubt that will all work itself out as they get more use. It also looks like they have a built-in stage, so I'm excited about the possibility of live music in the evenings. Can't wait to come back!
google avatar

Kim D.

Yelp
I can't ever find anything I like to drink here...I have tried numerous drinks and they are all less than desirable. The staff are less than friendly. I am just not impressed with this brewery.
google avatar

Mary E.

Yelp
Nice place! Easy to get to. A very good variety of beers. We liked that you could get sample sizes. That gave us a chance to try several different kinds. And the pizza was good too. Glad to see a place like this in Blue Springs. We will be back.
google avatar

Charles M.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Many creative and delicious brews and cocktails. And, their pizza and apps are good too. Most of all I really like the "vibe" of the place with hand crafted wood railings and concrete counters. Plus they have a nice outdoor patio. Conveniently located in old downtown Blue Springs, MO (my hometown).
google avatar

Kim M.

Yelp
Such a cool little spot! They have their homemade ginger beer and kombucha on tap too. Great ambiance as well!

Yelp
For being a newer brewery their beer tastes like they've been doing this for a long time, it's real good- they do allow dogs on their patio as we were traveling with ours, so it was nice she could sit with us. Our favorite beer was the AM Grind, would gladly visit them again on our way through the KC area
