EAST Hong Kong

I was very disappointed with my stay at EAST Hong Kong, especially given that it is part of Swire Properties and is marketed as a 5-star hotel. Unfortunately, the experience did not meet that standard. It felt very much like a 3 star hotel. The lobby and common areas were consistently occupied by large numbers of non-hotel residents. Many appeared to be people from the surrounding neighborhood using the space to study or gather for extended periods. The hotel staff acknowledged this situation but refused to take any action, which resulted in a lobby that felt crowded, noisy, and no longer exclusive to paying guests. As a hotel guest, this significantly diminished the sense of comfort, privacy, and quality one would expect at this level. What further surprised me was that at around 2am, my partner and I were explicitly told that we were not allowed to eat food in the lobby area. This rule felt unreasonable and poorly thought out, especially given that the space was nearly empty at such a late hour. Preventing hotel guests from quietly eating while simultaneously allowing the lobby to be used freely by non-residents throughout the day feels inconsistent and frustrating. Overall, the management policies at EAST Hong Kong do not align with 5-star expectations. Between the lack of control over public spaces and the restrictive rules imposed on actual guests, the experience felt more like a public co-working space than a premium hotel. I expected far better from a Swire-managed property.

The hotel location is excellent and convenient. The beds were very comfortable. However the experience was marred by the strange bathroom set up- completely see through glass walls- which made it wholly unsuitable for a friends getaway as there was no privacy. There is a separate shower cubicle and a toilet cubicle but there was no privacy for changing or dressing after a shower. I really wish hotels would stop doing this.

My husband & I stayed at the East Hotel HK December 12 to 20. We had the best of time there. All the hotel staff are so nice, particularly Ms. Coco from the Sales Dept who helped us to plan our long stay there in 2026. Ms. Celia at the Front Desk is always so welcoming & helpful! Ian at the Front Desk was very patient & helpful helping us to set to HK apps. Ericson, Sanjay are so nice as well. Mr. Gary Dang, the Director of Guest Experiences, made sure we had a very good & comfortable stay which we certainly did. House-keeping staff Maurie & BoBo are kind & nice to tidy up our room. The lady who answers the in house call we dial 0 every time is always gracious & prompt to ask staff respond to our requests. I used the hotel gym often. Judy the gym supervisor is outstanding: very very kind, very very courteous & helpful. Both of my husband & I like the chic designs of the hotel. We like our room: very clean & bright. The water purifier tap from which we drink the water directly, & the microwave in the room are so useful! We also love the location of the hotel: right at the Taikoo Shing City Plaza Mall, and right next to the Taikoo MTR station where we can take the MTR subway to go anywhere on HK Island & Kowloon. We will come back to stay at the East Hotel HK whenever we come to Hong Kong in the future. A Big Shout out & a Big Thank You to the management & all the staff at the hotel!

It was a good 5 days stay with East. I was there for business trip the location is very nice and in the center of taikoo which offer easy access to shops, restaurants and other spots in walking distance. concierge, Sanjay was very helpful with sharing information and recommendations. He is always ready to lend a helping hand with the hotel guests luggage and also helped with getting taxis. Very friendly kind staff at the hotel |The room size was spacious, offering great views. The breakfast was delicious, and the facilities, including the pool, gym and rooftop bar were top-notch. Everything was impeccably clean, ensuring comfortable stay.im highly recommended this hotel to everyone........

We had a very pleasant stay at East Hong Kong – Taikoo Shing. The hotel is in an excellent location, right in the heart of Taikoo, with easy access to shopping, restaurants, and public transportation. It made getting around Hong Kong incredibly convenient. Sanjay was friendly, professional, and helpful throughout my stay, which really added to the overall experience. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained, with everything I needed for a short stay. Housekeeping did a great job, and the hotel felt safe and well managed, everything was great. Overall, it’s a solid hotel with good service and a fantastic location, and I would happily stay here again

Excellent hotel for a break! We stayed at the for 6 nights in December and had a wonderful experience. The location was perfect, Convenient transportation to all the major attractions. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. The Bell staff Sanjay was friendly and helpful, providing great recommendations for local restaurants and shopping areas, .assist our luggage ,superb service since check-in to checkout. The hotel also had a nice fitness center and indoor pool which we enjoyed using. Overall, We are highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again on a future trip. It offered great value for the price

This property offers unparalleled value as it is located near shopping and transportation options, making it easy to explore the area. The cleanliness was superb, and the staff were nice especially mentioning SANJAY he was super nice, very friendly and helpful,Surverd guests with care. which enhanced the overall experience. Facilities, including an excellent swimming pool, gym and roof top bar are well maintained to add to the enjoyment of your stay. It is difficult to find any shortcomings here; Everything is beyond our expectations!. We are highly recommended this hotel to everyone....
