If you can deal with the very inexperienced server staff and waiting at least an hour for an appetizer and much longer for your entrée, then this very quirky restaurant is the place for you. The food is unique and really good but they move at their own speed. After 3 visits here this summer, I've concluded it's just not my jam.

Google
Having driven past this restaurant for years and always seeing the parking lot full I finally got around to going to try it out. The ambience is nice and luckily it was a cool day when we visited because it does not appear that they have air conditioning. But the screened in patios provided a nice cool breeze. The food came out quickly, but I did not find it as impressive as I would have thought from how crowded it usually is. The meals that my son and I had were both very greasy. Apparently it is a BYOB establishment because most of the people coming in we're bringing bottles of various libations.

Google
East of Suez is a comfortable restaurant serving Asian Fusion on Rt.28 in Wolfeboro. I want to give them 3 1/2 stars but google won't do that. We were seated in the main room at the back in a nicely sunlit room with a lovely view of the back yard and woods. Our waiter brought us the house "chips" which look like a fried foam. They are very tasty with a hint of shrimp flavor. East of Suez is BYOB and does not serve any alcohol, not even beer or wine. We did not know this and there is no mention of it on their website. Our waiter said they do provide setups and many of the other diners around us had wine and liquor. For starters we ordered the Summer Rolls which come with a "wild Gulf shrimp". The rolls were filled with rice noodles, Thai basil and a halved shrimp. They were served with a light, but tasty dark purple sauce. My wife had their Pad Thai and said it was the best Pad Thai she'd ever eaten. I had a couple of tastes and I agree. The sauce was velvety and the noodles were perfectly cooked. She also liked that it had more shrimp than chicken. I ordered the Japanese Tempura. It arrived with a bowl of white rice and dipping sauce. I asked for hot sauce and after tasting the dipping sauce I wanted soy sauce as well. Neither arrived. The dipping sauce, while flavorful, was dull and was in serious need of salt, which was not available. The rice was nice and sticky, but dull as well. The tempura shrimp and veggies was as you would expect with tempura, and this is why I only want to give them 3 1/2 stars. My meal was boring, boring, boring, and I couldn't get the condiments I wanted because our waiter never returned. East of Suez has a very interesting menu and other selections I'd like to try and I am certain we will visit them again. I am also certain I won't be ordering the tempura. Hopefully, we will also have a more attentive waiter.

Google
Great “Pan-Asian” food during the heat of the summer. Screen porch dining is the best, or…..the “group room” for a festive semi-private night out!! At the end of the Summer Season (heading into fall), they have a special end-of-season buffet with some talented young jazz musicians !!

Google
How did I just find out about this place last year?! The food is fresh and bold! I love the screened in dining room. The end of the year buffet is AMAZING! Great place, and great people.

Google
Unique BYOB restaurant that is a must try at least once. It is a bit confusing going in and getting seated but once you are inside it has a Sweet homey romantic setting with cozy dinning perfect for a first date or special night out. I was told I had to try this spot for its amazing spicy food and was told we would have leftovers to spare, sadly this was not the case. Though the menu is diverse and brings ethnic foods to the area as well as catering to both GLUTEN FREE and VEGAN options, there was no flavor to draw us back for more. The food, though good, only contained subtle hints of spices leaving us wanting more. There was also no hot factor and definitely no left overs with smaller portions which was boasted from previous dinners. Overall once our orders where in the staff was prompt, having everything out at the perfect timing from the apps, to the salad, to the meal. Definitely don’t forget the wine! But if you do their beverages are the most flavorful thing on the menu! We absolutely loved them!

Google
Price & portion size are great. Food we had was good. Great thing about this place is that you can BYOB and enjoy on the cover porch.

Google
Great atmosphere and even better people running the place. Amazing experience! Thanks Michael for the recommendation!

Yelp
Actually I wanted to give it the rating of "only" 4.5 ;) They've got 3 important positive marks: 1. great food (those Philippino dishes were indeed wonderful) 2. distinct and pleasing character in their ambience and menu 3. being the only good place in Wolfeboro which was opened on Tuesday afternoon Yes, they came out short on service level, and that's the gap between 4.5 and 5. We were quite happy we had early dinner in there and wouldn't hesitate at all to return.

Yelp
Wonderful food, interesting dishes, fast service, a unique staple to the Wolfeboro restaurant scene. And BYOB, so less strain on the wallet.

Yelp
Great food. Went for the end of year buffet and it was good but pretty pricy if you're not a big eater.

Elizabeth C.

Yelp
The food is incredible! You can not go wrong with anything on the menu. Service, however, is not great. We needed water and plates cleared. The server checked on our meals when we were almost done. We had to ask for utensils. Also, we were there early and asked for a window seat (not crowded) and were told they were reserved, but when we left they were still empty. All in all, this is a great place to eat.

Joan W.

Yelp
I haven't been here yet this season (they are only open for a couple of months during the summer), but previous experiences were delightful. Interesting Asian menu in a pleasant, woodsy setting. I recommend asking for a table on the screened porch when you make your reservation. Very different from other places in the area. In a good way.

Yelp
This is easily my favorite restaurant. I've eaten here dozens of times, brought friends from out of town, and can't recommend it highly enough. The specials always change, and they're very popular so there's always a chance to try something new if they are sold out of something popular (dumplings, scallops, etc), and the options never disappoint. It's an eclectic collection of glasses where you can BYOB, and the decoration is so full of life as is the service. You can tell the community has rallied around this restaurant for decades, because it's been open for over 50 years, which is nearly unheard of. The food is a mixture of pan-Asian cuisines ranging from lumpia to bulgoki to tempura to Thai red curry (my personal favorite), and all my friends have their individual favorites we come back to (try anything with longanisa if they have it, it's incredible!) but we're always excited to share plates with something none of us have had.

Yelp
Welcome to FLAVOR TOWN!! Made a reservation for 3 a few days ago and dined at East of Suez at 5:30 on a Wednesday. No wait. Asked to be seated outside on the screened in porch and was happily accommodated! . Wonderful, tasty, fresh food that was kind of exotic! We shared an appetizer of goat cheese crab Rangoon - crispy (not oily) with a chili dipping sauce. I had Philippine Adobo (pork belly and chicken thighs. Very tender and spiced just right for me-I requested a number 4 spicy out of 10. Came with rice, banana and orange. My companions ordered beef Bulgoki. Tender and juicy beef on a skewer with rice and kimchi. We also ordered shrimp and vegetable tempura. Broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, carrots and sweet potato tempura that was cooked perfectly and came with a dipping sauce. Everyone loved their meal and left very happy! I would recommend any of the menu options that we tried. Also, the wait staff were über friendly and efficient! Thank you!

Yelp
My favorite place in the area. BYOB though and people fully to took advantage of this fact. The table next to us had a table of 4 women with a handle of Tito's and a 2 liter of tonic, a 750 of rum, a bag of ice, and a cocktail shaker. Great food and nice people too.

Yelp
I am a knucklehead. Why haven't I tried this place sooner? I mean it has been there for 55 years. Only opens for the summer and it is a treasure. The food is not typical of any particular ethnic origin. It certainly is not the Americanized version of Chinese food. They serve a marvelously eclectic variety of dishes from the the pan-pacific. There is a variety of influences (Chinese, Thai, Filipino, etc.) in their menu. And they deliver deliciousness. The decor of the restaurant itself reminds you that they have been around for 55 years. If an older couple traveled extensively throughout the Far East and returned to their summer place in Wolfeboro every year, it would look like East of Suez. Eclectic, charming and slightly out of date. But don't expect a remodel. The staff is very young and only there for the summer, so service can be a bit spotty. Relax and accept the fact that in this day and age it is remarkable that they can get a staff together at all for a brief three months of employment. It is BYOB, which is awesome! Reservations are mandatory. Bring your wine, your tastebuds and an open mind and you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
My family and I love this place. The decor is fun and eclectic, and the food items various and imaginative. But the service is apt to be slow, so you should plan on a leisurely meal here.

Peter M.

Yelp
When half the tables are empty, it would be reasonable to think that there wouldn't be a long wait to get your food after it's ordered. Well, I was wrong. After the waitress took our order, we waited...literally...for one hour before our food arrived. Horrible service is an understatement. Never going back.

Kate A.

Yelp
By far one of the worst dining experiences I have had. You walk in to an unfriendly staff to a small uncomfortable chair with a stark table. Water was served, no ice. Several of us ordered ginger ale which came in a can for a charge of $6.00. Salads came with the entree which was green bitters, 1/2 of a cherry tomato with a sliver of cucumber. Entrees we're pricey and over cooked and battered. After a long night with heart burn, relief with Alka Seltzer. To say the least we won't be back.

Doane F.

Yelp
Excellent food. Bring your own alcohol helps keep your bill reasonable. They stager reservations so kitchen can get your meal out timely and hot.

Yelp
Unique place with excellent food and wonderful, eclectic decor. It's like visiting the home of a well-traveled friend who's decorated their place with curiosities from all over Asia. The menu is a diverse combo of Filipino things like pancit, which is like lo mein; Korean things like bulgogi (garlicky beef); Thai curries; spring and summer rolls; and pakora (fritters of cauliflower and sometimes broccoli, with a really tasty dipping sauce). These are the things we've tried, anyway, and they've all been good. The only reason I deducted one star is they have almost nothing to drink! Not only is it BYOB, but even the soft drinks listed on the menu are often unavailable. So if you want anything other than water, bring it with you! Note that they are only open from late June to about Labor Day. Every June, we wait eagerly for the big yellow sign with the setting sun to make its annual appearance!

Yelp
We attended the end of summer buffet tonight. I don't usually rate restaurants low, particularly in this economic environment, but it wasn't a good experience. The food was mediocre at best, and the service was slow and disorganized. The chicken Satay had no flavor at all. The sauces were decent. They don't carry any Pepsi or Coke. We did bring our own cocktails, but it took them a long time to get us some glasses. On the way out, we noticed a politically-charged sign hanging on the front of the building that is often offensive to people. That was the nail in the coffin for us with this establishment. Why divide? My review is solely based on the food and service. Thank you

Breanne T.

Yelp
Another phenomenal meal yesterday evening - the flavors always beyond words. East of Suez has been our favorite place to go for a summer dinner. COVID was an unexpected challenge (to say the least), especially for those in the restaurant industry, and the way in which East of Suez has navigated these challenges is inspiring. It is clear that Liz, her family and staff have gone above and beyond giving it their all this year. The end of summer somehow has a way of sneaking up, but if you have the chance - order takeout or reserve a safely socially distanced table to eat in. You won't be disappointed!!

Yelp
Went with a large party and had a good time. We had booked a room to sit on the floor with cushions but they accommodated us when we changed because of several knee issues. The food was good especially the goat cheese wontons. One in our party found a bristle of a wire probably from brush to clean grill in food. They comped the meal. I had a seafood curry and ordered it medium and was not spicy enough for me. My friend said the same about her dish. So be not afraid you spice heads, order it hot!!

Yelp
I did not eat at this restaurant but wish I had. The chef from Pickering House Inn told us about this place. I think it is on the fourth generation. Small quaint space but best Pan American food. Chef went there for his birthday and another guest at our inn ate there and said it was great. First time, I've rated a place without eating there. Which I had visited East of Suez instead of O'Bistro.

Yelp
We usually have an excellent experience here. Tonight we had a young waitress, she didn't seem to have any experience. She brought our drinks after we got our appetizers. She never brought our salads, so when the main course came I told her to forget my salad, my boyfriend got his but it was beyond drowning in dressing. It's BYOB, and I asked for ice, which she never brought. We were never offered a second glass of our drinks once finished. The waitress never came back to see if our meal was ok. Food was good, but at 27$ a plate, you expect better service.
google avatar

Suri B.

Yelp
They're website says they open at 5:00. We called at 5:30 for a take out order. They literally said they cannot accommodate us. What? How is that even possible?! You're basically open part-time and when you do open, you're unwilling to actually operate the business. We were a small group and we wanted to place an average sized order. I've never heard of a restaurant refusing business. Clearly this isn't a business but rather a hobby for the owners. It's a shame because Filipino food isn't commonly available and it's really delicious so they could be so successful with minimal effort.

Yelp
I was so happy when I came to the town of Wolfeboro to see an authentic Pan Asian restaurant as a food option. East of Suez opens every summer and is well respected and well loved by many of the residents here. As a Filipino coming into New Hampshire I was so excited to see a lot of classic Filipino cuisine there. I ordered the lumpia, the adobo, the sans rival and flan. Everything I had was absolutely delicious and tasted just like home! The people in my party absolutely loved their food as well and we all ordered different things from the menu. All the staff was incredibly sweet and my party got all of our orders very quickly. The restaurant itself is quirky, spacious and feels very homey. I highly recommend you check this place out during the summer if you are around!
google avatar

Yelp
We had a GREAT meal in this quirky setting. The meal was awesome! I had the pad Thai, which I was so absorbed in that I forgot what my husband ordered. I know he liked it though! The physical space feels like you are dining in someone's private residence, which is odd and a little neat. The service was sweet and fast.

Yelp
This place cracked me up, in a good way. It looked and felt like the porch of an old hippie's house that had been set up as a thrift shop... literally, there were all kinds of random items for sale inside, it was like a tag sale-slash-asianfusionrestaurant-slash-hippie'sporch. Which just added to the charm IMO. The food is pretty solid; our party tried multiple apps and entrees, and everyone was pretty happy with everything we ate. The highish prices and smallish portions are more in line with a major city than a small lake town, but that didn't really bother us: it was ~$17 for my tasty pancit, but I could have made it two meals so the portion size was substantial IMO, and the price was reflected in the quality and uniqueness of the food. Also, it's BYOB, so don't forget that you're really saving $$ on alcohol. Bummer that it's cash only, so come prepared. A unique dining choice amid a sea of subpar tourist joints. UPDATE 7/2014: they now take credit cards, huzzah! And the food is still really tasty :)

Yelp
First visit of many -- we've lived in Wolfeboro for almost two years and so many people told us about East of Suez (and its BYOB policy, which is awesome). Last night was our first dining experience, and we loved it. The setting, including the screened-in porch, was fantastic, and we loved all the art. Food was delicious -- only advice would be for diners to know that the Phad Thai is a little thicker (almost gravy-like) than you normally get -- we liked it, but didn't expect it. Spring rolls and gyoza pot stickers were great. We'll be back!

Susan W.

Yelp
Food was great. Service a bit slow. Will go back. Have always wanted to go and am glad I did.

Yelp
As a local, I look forward to this place opening all year. Firstly, you do not come here for the service. College kids without little to no experience as a professional server, can be slow at times and slightly awkward. However, all that can be completely overlooked by the charm that this little gem has to offer. This place is so kitschy and retro I can't even take it. Its like being in your crazy aunts house minus the cats. Tie dyed sarongs adorn every table and big bamboo fans cool the room. Be sure to make reservations, ask to be on the porch. They have no ac so the porch is ideal on warmer summer nights. The food here is at times, unreal. I can't say enough positive things about it. I wish the regular menu would change every year but have a daily rotation of specials keeps it interesting. I recently had a salmon special that was wrapped in nori with a yuzu butter, served on 'Japanese' rice with baby tempura bokchoy. Out of this world. The Japanese rice I'm pretty sure was butter and soy sauce which is a blissful combination for any dish. The Pad Thai and Philippine Adobo are both tried and true dishes as well. Definitely save room for dessert. San Rival and the daily Tiramisu special are my recommendations. Bring a couple bottles of wine, some patience and an open mind and you'll be greatly rewarded. Oh, they also updated their system and use Square now so they accept credit cards.

Yelp
Beautiful spot and good vibes but the food was a real disappointment. Bland, uneventful and overpriced for what it was. It also took at least an hour. We really thought this place was going to be excellent and were surprised it was so mediocre.

Lauren S.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious dining experience! Very unexpected to find such a wonderful internationally inspired restaurant in New Hampshire. Would definitely recommended. We called same day and got a reservation. Will be sure to go again next time I am in town

Tom H.

Yelp
Another great meal at East of Suez. The goat cheese Rangoon is delectable, so I'm told by the rest of the party and the Tom Yum soup was tasty as well. The red snapper was delicious, as was the accompanying turmeric rice. My Red curry was packed with shrimp and scallops. The mango tiramisu was exceptional. And our server Emma was delightful as always.

Yelp
We recently ate here on a Friday night. Service was lacking. We ordered the beef satay for an appetizer- it literally had no flavor despite having a peanut sauce and it was not seasoned. We ate a piece of one skewer and then notified the waitress that we didn't like the appetizer. She asked if we would like something else so we ordered the summer rolls (they were mediocre). Despite leaving 80 percent of the first appetizer we were informed at the end that they would have to charge us because we ate some of it! Our main course dishes were ok- I ordered a steak dish and it was properly cooked but the sauce tasted like it was out of a jar. My husband had a red curry that was just average and under seasoned. Overall overpriced and ridiculous to have to pay for a bad appetizer. Food is not worth the price and service can be improved.
google avatar

Thad R.

Yelp
Went early on a Sunday evening to celebrate a birthday. We had made reservations and requested some specialty dishes due to dietary concerns. The food was nearly perfect. The specialty items were flawless. The rangoon could have been better....most of them split and had no goat cheese in them. Still tasty, but not ideal. The staff were friendly and accommodating. Our server did seem a bit stretched but it was not an inconvenience for us. I will definitely be back! Oh yeah...sit on the porch.

Yelp
Adorable place. Amazing food with a decent selection. BYOB. The crab and corn fritters are so delicious.

Yelp
It's clear that this place is a favorite amongst those who have discovered it's quirky charms, including my Dad and his wife. I like it fine, but don't entirely share their enthusiasm, giving it a solid three stars: A-OK! The restaurant - on Rt 28 between Alton and Wolfeboro - is a ramshackle seasonal joint with slanted floors, a breezy screened in porch (no AC inside), Asian themed decor and un-comfy bentwood chairs. No credit cards accepted - cash or check only. I suspect that one reason this place is popular is because it seems SO VERY DIFFERENT than the majority of available options in the lakes region. They serve (and proudly mix up) a variety of Asian flavors from Thai (Curry), Korean (Kimchee & Bulgogi, which they spell Bulgoki), Phillipine (Adobo), Japanese (Tempura & Yakatori), Chinese (Canton noodles) and Indian (Samosas). For this variety of flavors I find the menu strangely limited, as there are only 6 apps and 8 entree choices including nightly specials. We sampled the appetizers including spring rolls, cheese Rangoon, and a wasabi shumai, leaving other ordinary options such as satay, yakatori, and hot & sour soup for another day. There is nothing special here; I thought the apps lacked the imagination and flavor apparent in the entrees, and they were priced higher than I'm used to paying for better quality elsewhere. The spring rolls were better with the sauce they served with the Rangoon. The free rice chips are, on the other hand, hands down addictive. I wished they had the Crab and Corn fritters that I've read about, but no on two visits. Their salad, which comes with entree, and tends to be delivered before the apps, is greatly elevated by tasty tangy house made dressings which you should order on the side. You can purchase them to take home. I love the ginger dressing. Speaking of bottles - bring your own if you want alcohol. Their service is not a strength by any means, yet is casual and friendly, so arrive with patience, and expect to have to ask for things like water, wine glasses, specials menu, fresh cutlery, and perhaps your entree. The waitress, when delivering our check, dryly and succinctly inquired "You Done?". I swallowed a chuckle... The entrees are the clear stars here - no disappointments amongst the several I've sampled including the Bulgogi (a Korean BBQ steak), Trout with delish tempura asparagus, and a medium hot Red Curry with Shrimp and Scallops (small quibble - last night the shrimp were slightly overdone, and the scallop under). They feature thoroughly enjoyable, strong yet well balanced flavors, pleasing textures, and nice presentations. Portions are reasonable, and you will either lick your plate clean or, perhaps if you've had several apps, take the leftovers home with you. We did a little of both. The desserts looked tempting - and on one occasion we tried a decidedly un-Asian yet decadent chocolate, coffee ice and Kaluha concoction. I would like to have sampled a few others but we had a campfire with S'Mores waiting for us back home. Next time.

Yelp
Finally we made it to East of Suez. You bring your alcoholic beverage of choice. They provide EVERYTHING else. We began with the hash brown bruchetta. My wife had the Duck Breast and I had the Mahi Mahi Tacos. Both entree's we're on the Special menu. Our waitress Danika (sorry, I'm sure it's misspelled and not pronounced correctly) was wonderful, professional, and helpful. To the food.......the appetizer was spot on for flavor. The sauce was a perfect, not overpowering flavor. Both entree's we're perfectly done. So obvious that each plate is made to order. We finished with coffee and the Khaluah cake (warmed) and the Khaluah Ice Cream for dessert. Surroundings were comfortable and cozy. They close for the winter after Labor Day weekend. Don't miss it

Yelp
What a find in seemingly rural New Hampshire! I know that Wolfeboro is reasonably upscale, but never expected such a great dinner. Interesting decor, we had a great table by the window, fun staff in (my favorite) Hawaiian shirts. Our server was a little "green", but a nice kid, very attentive. Interesting, innovative "eastern" menu, with Pad Thai and other oriental inspired dishes. The Pad Thai was highly recommended by our hosts, and rightly so. It was incredible. Small tossed salad was nice and light, great garlic dressing (with nice big chunks of garlic). They have some wine and beer, but most folks seem to BYOB, with no charge from the restaurant. If you're in the area and finally get tired of lobster and steamers and chowder, this is the place to go!

Anjha T.

Yelp
The ambiance was nice, however the food was very underwhelming. The dishes seemed appetizing from their description, but out of the 4 main dishes and 2 appetizers we ordered, none of us really enjoyed our meals. The service was prompt and friendly, and the decor was beautiful. We were referred here by friends, but unfortunately it just didn't hit the mark.
google avatar

Jared R.

Yelp
I'm torn on this place. On one hand, this is the only place where in the area where you can get this type of East Asian cuisine (as opposed to just Chinese), and the food itself is generally very good. I like the Pad Thai, the desserts, and the peanut salad dressing. The negative is that this place appears to be in an old house and does not have air conditioning and it feels like an attic. It does not take credit cards fyi. This place is only open during the summer and it has a cult following. It is on the more expensive side for food in the town. It also doesn't have formal parking. I would recommend trying this place but I wouldn't make a routine of it.
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
I go to East of Suez every year when we visit Ossipee. I would have always given them a 5 star rating. However, I went last weekend and it wasn't as good as usual. I ordered special rice and clearly it was an afterthought. Basically rice with soy sauce. Other friends were not impressed either. Maybe just an off night. Hopefully not a trend. Some facts that will hopefully hep you: Bolgagi is probably the best thing on the menu. Dumplings are good too. Service was slow. BYOB is great. Make reservations and ask for the porch. Pad Thai is not great.
google avatar

Clay C.

Yelp
Had the $23 beefsteak specialty of the evening. Was even hard to cut with the steak knife - and hard to chew. Don't order this one.
google avatar

Lauren W.

Yelp
This restaurant is phenomenal, especially for being in the Lakes Region. Everyday there are new special items added to the menu. I believe that there are more "specials" than standing items on the menu so it feels as though it changes daily. When you drive by this restaurant you would never think twice, from the road it appears to be falling down. But you should definitely stop here! The dining area is very zen, the perfect ambiance for eating Asian cuisine.

Yelp
East of Suez has been a family favorite for many years. In a land of french dip and chicken fingers, this place really stands out. Two things you should know - arrive before you are hungry (it tends to be slow) and bring your own booze or wine (they don't serve alcohol). The food is great and the atmosphere is wonderful.
google avatar

Jamie M.

Yelp
Yes! This place is the real deal. It is so quaint and the food is delicious. The service is iffy, but they are seasonal and there are a lot of kids trying to make money for the summer, so we let it go. I can't say enough about the menu options... oh, and it's BYOB! Think about that when you get your reasonable tab :)

K H.

Yelp
After driving by this place a million times we finally decided to give it a whirl. Glad I did - it's a funky, quirky, old farm house kind of place with old Asian advertisements and memorabilia, friendly staff, and really good food. The service is pretty slow - and it's basically cash only (seriously? in 2010?). They were nice enough to let us use cards but this entailed photocopying our cards (front and back), listing our information, and signing. the photo copy. This was fairly inconvenient but we had called ahead and got the o.k. for using cards, so we didn't have cash on hand. The prices are a little up there ($18-20/dish). Didn't love the wing app we got, but I loved my trout special. Others in my party got the Korean beef (two big thumbs up), and the tempura pork (two big thumbs up). I had food envy - my trout was delicious but not a lot of food. Still, it wad really tasty. It's BYOB only - which I think is great. We had a couple apps, 4 meals, and our own wine. Whole thing came to $60/couple including tip at the end. That didn't seem too bad - so you do save in the end by bringing your own booze. Go there and enjoy - I'll certainly be back

Becky S.

Yelp
I can't decide which is better about this place - their friendly accommodation for large parties, or the fact that it's BYOB. Seriously, my first experience included an extra-large thermos of frozen margaritas, a handle of Grey Goose, a cooler of mix-ins, and three bottles of wine. Of course, there were about fourteen of us, but still. Mixing your own drinks and having your personal bar packed right behind your chair is mighty convenient. Not to mention the food... Everything is amazing. The fritters to start are awesome. Then I go with the chicken and pork. Comes with sliced bananas and a ball of sticky rice. And to finish it all? Well, just try any of their desserts. All amazing. Just remember that entrees can run in the $20 range, so go with some savings. But it's definitely worth it.

Yelp
Food was great! Small portions for the price. Our servicer was greatly lacking she rarely came to the table and was rude when she was present. Another server was very friendly and accommodating, wish we had him. The food took a really long time to get to us even though the restaurant was less than a 1/4 full. Two entrees and one appetizer, the bill was $60. Not sure if we will return...

Yelp
My husband's aunt and uncle really like this place, so we decided to give it a try. After reading reviews here, we stopped at the ATM (I agree with the reviewer, who doesn't take the card?!? It's 2012!). We called to make a reservation for 7 pm and were told that it would be best if we tried for 7:30pm, so we did. When we arrived, we were a little confused as to where to go, but the hostess found us and seated us - right next to the kitchen, which was behind some louvered shutters so we had no idea. Every time a wait person walked into or out of the kitchen there was a loud BANG! Once we got used to it, we were okay, but it was a little jarring to say the least. We knew from reading reviews here that it was BYOB, but we thought we'd at least be offered a beverage, no such luck. Our dinners came with salads - my husband got the creamy garlic dressing which was very good, I got the peanut dressing which had the consistency and taste of watered down peanut butter - it was odd. We also thought it was odd that they brought us our salads and then the app. We had a dining out guide which gave us a coupon for a free app - we picked the goat cheese rangoon. They were okay, I expected more of a tangy goat cheese taste, these really didn't taste much different than plain old rangoons. My husband ordered one of the specials - a flank steak that wasn't really a flank steak and quite frankly, I grill a better steak than that one. Completely under seasoned. I ordered the Thai Red Curry and I must say it was fabulous! the only disappointment was there were only two scallops. The service was very slow and I thought the prices were very high for what it was.

Yelp
Two waitstaff, 5 tables occupied, 80% of dining room empty and the service was terrible. The goat cheese crab rangoon was okay and the pad thai was good. But couldn't get water, soda, utensils, etc. Clueless. Probably a good thing they don't have a liquor or beer/wine license, customers would never get their drinks. How do places like this survive?

Yelp
The food is amazing! And the service was great too. I highly recommend. I had the red Thai curry. The sauce was delicious. We didn't know it was byob. We will be prepared next time.

Yelp
One of my favorite restaurants!!! Such a hidden gem! its BYOB and only a few items on the menu with many specials. I always get the lumpia and bulgogi which is so so good! You have to make a reservation though!
