1st came to this Post Hall. I was thinking to eat the south american food there, but East aide King took my wallet first. Good portion for chicken katsu bowl! Price is abit on high end (could be lower abit) but well worth for the portion. It was a quick serving. I will be back for sure.

My daughter and I ate here recently and had the Sakurajima roll. It was delicious. It took a little while to receive it, but that's because they make it fresh, and you don't have to stand and wait around for it. You just give your phone # and you receive a text when it's ready! It's a bit pricey, more than I expected, but worth it. This whole place where this its located is a vibe. We'd definitely come back.

👍 The food "looked" appealing, which is what brought me here over the other options at POST. 👎 Unfortunately, ordering took a long time—even though I was the only person in line. 👎 They took my phone number to notify me when my order was ready, but after sitting near the kitchen for over 30 minutes, I still hadn’t received a text. ⚠️ **FOOD SAFETY HAZARD** While waiting, I noticed raw fish left out on the counter without refrigeration. The fish was not frozen and remained on the counter from the time I arrived until I left (pictured). 👎 Eventually, I went to check on my order, only to find there was no clear pickup area for customers. ⚠️ **FOOD SAFETY HAZARD** I spotted what looked like my order sitting on a different counter without a heat lamp (pictured). 👎 When I finally asked about it, the cashier turned and attempted to hand me the same food that had been sitting out. I raised my voice, requested a refund, and explained that I’d waited half an hour and couldn’t be sure how long the food had been left out. Despite a long line of customers when I asked for the refund, the area was empty by the time it was issued. 👎 I was informed my refund would take 48 hours to process. ⚠️ **FOOD SAFETY HAZARD** More than an hour later, that same raw fish was still sitting out (pictured, with receipt and time-stamp).

All of our food was delicious. We tried the chicken teriyaki dish, a dish with fried chicken on top of the rice and everything else that comes with it as well as the cheesecake Nutella egg rolls and everything was just fantastic. Fabi was so much help and very patient with all of the menu questions I asked. Thank you so much.

Food was amazing and very worth the price for the portion size. They text you when it's done so you don't have to wait around.

Ordered the Chicken Katsu Bowl. The small limited cucumbers blended well with the dish. Overall, it was good. Staff were straightforward. No recommendations or suggestions. Just took our order and made the food. Maybe it’s because we went on a Thursday and it was slow but having a small conversation can go a long way. TIME FRAME: Lunch FOOD PRESENTATION: 5 STAFF COMMUNICATION: 3

Google
The salmon roll was good. Not $14 good though. We waited a while for our food. It could've definitely come out faster but the two employees in the back were too busy talking and laughing. The guy at the register was super quiet, couldn't hear what he was saying and he just looked so over it.

It was my first time trying their food out. Daniela provided some suggestions. Very nice and wonderful customer service. I ordered the fried dumplings 10/10. I also ordered the two sushi rolls. Super fresh and so delicious. Id recommend to everyone. ♥️

Yelp
Nah, won't be here again. My son had a fish where looks like fried California rolls are severed over fries. He liked the rolls (not enough), the fries were dry and bland, even with all the sauce they add to it. It took forever to get our order, service was lackluster. In general, Seems like workers at the post don't know how to greet or be courteous, they can learn a thing or two from Chick-fil-A and similar restaurants. Way overpriced.

Heather M.

Yelp
We walked all over POST's food court and decided on these guys. So good! Perfect level of spicy and everything was so fresh. Cold tuna mixing with warm rice and everything else in there was a fantastic blend. Great service and generous portions.

Yelp
I came to Post with some friends to eat before an event on the Skylawn. I was looking for their Maki-roll on their menu. Another customer in line pointed me in the right direction. The pics looked so good. I thought it was like an open faced hand roll? Maybe I should have looked to something else. I ordered 1 Takimaki salmon, 1 Takimaki shrimp tempora. Both were not great, flavorless for the most part. I won't order this again. But I hope to give this place another chance? Feel free to send me suggestions that you love on their menu for the future, please. If you so feel inclined.

Yelp
Quality has gone downhill from its Austin days. We got a bento box and it was edible, so that's good? Pretty bummed because I hyped this up from when I was in college at UT and they served this mess..

Brayan U.

Yelp
I waited 25+ min to receive my order. It was simply a bowl and I told them to cancel it because I had finished eating an entire other meal and it still was not ready. Other guests had a similar wait time and nobody told us before we ordered or I would have gone elsewhere. The cashier also had a rude attitude after I told them I no longer wanted the item. Overall, WOULD NOT recommend

Tamie S.

Yelp
I came to Post Houston today with a group of my co workers. I was pleasantly surprised to see East Side Kings. I used to go to the one in Austin when I lived there. The young man that took my order was so sweet and friendly. I got the Brussel Sprouts and Shrimp Skewers. It was so good! All my co workers tried the Brussel Sprouts and loved them. I will definitely be coming back.

Yelp
I really wish someone replace this spot in Post. I've tried this place multiple of times only because it was the only 'sushi-like' place they have at Post. The service has always been slow but today really did it for me: Granted, poor cashier/chef who was at FOH after the event that was taken that morning because he had a line but due to communication issues, the order took forever to take (I blame management on this one). There were only two chefs there with one of them taking orders. I can tell he didn't know the menu because when I ask about certain items in the menu he looked lost and couldn't give me any guidance. (There was another instance when I was waiting for my food that a customer reached over to show him where items were on the ipad) I ended up ordering a scallop and crab temaki which were good but for the price point and wait (waited over 30min), it wasn't worth it. It's $6 each and they're as long as the width of my palm (I have small hands). Honestly, if you're craving sushi, you're better off going to Bravery Chef Hall and eating at Kokoro. If not, give the other places at Post a chance.

Yelp
We came to try the 59 dollar omakase after our friends raved about their experience. We couldn't figure out how to do reservations online (which you can do), so we just showed up around 6:30 Friday night. It was no problem getting a seat at this 12 person omakase bar. We to chose in front of the preparation bar because our feet touched the ground and we wanted to watch Vu prepare our meal. Vu was the chef- very knowledgeable, prepared some amazing bites. 12 nigiri, 1 cucumber salad and 1 hand roll. It was a really great experience. We also had a canned sake that was sweet and perfect to compliment our meal. There were also plenty of normal menu items including bowls, buns and rolls. We will definitely be back

William L.

Yelp
Do NOT go for the Omakase here. It's a shame as East Side King is a beloved food truck in Austin TX. We were excited when one opened in Post Houston. I've had their regular menu items multiple times, fairly average stuff - but let me hone in on the Omakase experience. Prices raised from $49 in 1/2022 to $58 in 6/2022 and there's nothing to show for it. Having Omakase in a food court setting just doesn't work... Depending on the staff available, you have a poor outclassed fast food worker attempting to follow a preset Omakase menu. This is much closer to an overpriced combo set menu with "Omakase" slapped on it to lure folks in. Very little innovation on the plate. The method of preparation is very minimal, lacking flavors - which allowed the poor quality of ingredients to shine. Would I Recommend to Try? No Would I Return? No Ambiance- 2/10 (For an Omakase experience) Food Taste- 4/10 Service- 5/10 Date Worthy- 4/10 Value- 2/10

Yelp
Atmosphere: East Side King is a well-decorated, inviting stand in the center area of POST. There is some seating at the stand if you want a more immersive experience. Service: We ordered and gave our phone number to the cashier to be notified when our food was ready. We really liked how East Side King had this system since at other stands, we had to wait nearby to listen for our order. Food: We ordered the Spicy Salmon, Spicy Tuna, and Shrimp Tempura Takimaki (open-faced handroll). The spicy salmon and tuna were unremarkable, but the sauce and other toppings masked the average quality of the fish. However, the shrimp tempura was crispy and fresh with a decent amount of sauce and crunch on top. We thought that the open-faced concept and presentation were unique! Overall: While we have never experienced sushi like East Side King's Takimaki, we'd say that the meal was not worth $14. Firstly, the rolls themselves were not filling since they just consisted of a piece of fish and a small sliver of rice. Secondly, the quality of fish wasn't impressive, especially given the quantity they served at the price. We might recommend East Side King's Takimaki as a "worth a try" type of experience, but do not order if you are expecting a full meal out of it.

Yelp
Once we heard about the $49 12 piece sushi omakase, we definitely had to stop by. I had a feeling they would be busy on the weekends so we came on a weekday and were the only people there. After reading other people's reviews about waiting, I'm glad we did that since we got the sushi chef's full attention for our entire meal! On to the omakase, I won't write specifically about each piece since the meaning of omakase means that you get whatever is fresh that day. Our favorites were the seared salmon, scallop, and the crab but a majority of the pieces were all very good. Definitely much better quality than your average sushi joint. If you're paying $49, don't expect $100 quality. Have realistic expectations and you won't be disappointed! Overall, I think this is a great addition to the Post. Since there is only one sushi chef and about 12 seats, I can imagine there will be a wait during the weekends but at least you're surrounded by multiple food stalls. Houston was definitely needing a mid-tier sushi spot for times you don't want to drop a couple hundred at Uchi/MF/kokoro, but also want something better than Oishi/Hokkaido. This spot definitely checks off the boxes!

Sophie Y.

Yelp
We showed up at 11:55 am for the noon $59 omakase. Dani told us to return in 15 minutes since they weren't ready. Saw she was the only person working at the restaurant. Returned at 12:20 pm and saw a short hair staff in addition to Dani. Were told to return another 15 minutes like 12:35 pm since they were still getting ready. We saw another gentleman asking the same question. Maybe there is a staff shortage or something happened. But we only had 75 minutes for lunch and simply couldn't keep on waiting. It's located inside the POST food hall and we ended eating elsewhere. Quite disappointing as we love omakase (Soto, Kinogawa, Uchi) and they are usually $150 pp. Thought this will be a different experience as it's inside a food hall.

Jennifer G.

Yelp
Very long time for one trio bun order. Two buns were very good, but the chicken one was very dry and came with no sauce. Will try again as there were other things we wanted to try.

Jeannie K.

Yelp
14 serving omakase for $49 - it's worth a try, no? We were the second group there at noon on Sunday. It opens at noon, and they were mixing the sushi rice when we sat. Salmon for 3 and redfish for 2 of the pieces - almost a third being from those two fish detracts from variety. The service is friendly but very junior. Four of us sat in a row, and the guy serving each piece neither served us in order nor at once - meaning he would bring sushi for two of us at a time or three of us at a time and would bring out the other piece after it's made. We were sitting at the bar. Why not just wait to have all pieces? Also, why not serve in order from one end of the group to the other? My biggest gripe about all this was the rice. The sushi rice was hot AND mushy. It really took away from the fish to the point that it bothered me. The sauces on the fish were also lacking, not in flavor but just in amount. Needs a little more rubbed on each fish. So $49 pre tax/tip for omakase may not be bad, but until they iron out the rice issue, I wouldn't go again. I'd rather spend that money on two nice chirashis where the rice is done correctly. That said, the fish quality is nice. Disappointed by the hand roll and didn't appreciate the pickled anchovy but enjoyed most things, especially the hotate (scallops) and the seared sake toro (salmon belly). Free parking on Sundays. Not pictured: the chutoro (or the amberjack)

Yelp
Some "issues" need to be work on, but overall the experience and the food was great. We arrived to POST and walked around, my husband and I wanted to try the Takimaki. We tried to order via online because we were instructed to but a lot of Takimaki was not available. They only had the "basic" types (shirmp Tempura & avocado). We decided to try the omakase instead, but all the seating were not clean yet. Got the server attention and asked her to clean two seating for the Omakase. We asked the chef if we can order some Takimaki through him instead online and he said sure, let the server know, which she put in the order for us. We opted 3 pieces takimaki (2 blue crabs and 1 spicy tuna). All were good, we just did not know why it was not available online but the server was able to put in the order. All in all, food was great! Decent for $49/person for Omakase.

Hieu V.

Yelp
Not bad at all! The price is fair. The spicy salmon bowl was about $15. It's not the best but it's not bad either. Easy quick fix to poke cravings, but definitely wouldn't go out of my way for it.

Lauren W.

Yelp
Gosh I hate to leave a poor review but next to Whataburger, this was by far the worst meal I had in Houston. I had the Takimaki and in its form, it really is impossible to eat. The seaweed is impossible to bite through. The fish was in huge chunks that made them difficult to eat the sauces were lack luster. Sadly this was a complete waste of money. So poor I was originally giving this meal a 2 Star but as I typed my review, I realized that extra star was just me being polite.‍

Mica R.

Yelp
We were lucky enough to have the chef there last night and get private omakase service. It was fabulous. We just kept getting happier and happier. Every bite was delicious, and we can't wait to go back. If you've had a bad experience, please give them another chance, they are really trying, and trying to hire and keep the best staff and make fresh delicious food. If you get a chance to do omakase on a weekend, consider yourself lucky, and maybe we will see you there!

Mimi C.

Yelp
Don't book their omakase, it's risky and scam-like! I booked ahead, prepaid $50 as required, and arrive on time to only find out that their sushi chef decided not to show up. So left my contact information to the confused but apologetic staff. But they never contacted me nor have they refunded my $50. I ended up having to disputed myself through the bank. What kind of business does this to their customer!??

Sherika F.

Yelp
I opt in for the Taki-maki 3 pieces with my choice of Spicy Tuna, Spicy Salmon, Shrimp Tempura. I also got the Sakurajima with a nice refreshing coconut water. The Sakurajima didn't taste fresh. I think it may have been the crab meat. It wasn't my favorite. The Taki Maki is an open hand roll. I ordered the salmon, tuna, and shrimp tempura. I wish the salmon and tuna were cut into bit smaller pieces. The salmon was my favorite pick but it didn't taste as amazing as it did my first time trying the hand rolls.

DeHorne S.

Yelp
Came in for a for the $59 omakase that they have advertised in the middle of Post Houston. Love the fact that you can get high tiered sushi for a good price instead of all the other Omakases that are $150+ these days. Obviously the biggest difference is the ambience of the place. Being in the middle of the the busy food hall of Post, its vastly different than other omakases around town. For some, it may not be their taste, but for me its alright. I don't' mind sitting at the sushi bar in the middle of the food hall. Chef Vu was great at what he did. Offering 12 nigiri, salad and a handroll. Its no BS good food. Conversations between us and the chef could have been better, but the chef had a schedule to be on and we were on a time table. Perhaps that's the part where I didn't' feel the best with, but its completely understandable. For $59, you have to compromise somewhere. Overall the omakase was a satisfying experience. May do it again in the future if the pricing doesn't' go up.

Lauren D.

Yelp
An unfortunate no for me. Not only did it take FOREVER (it was fun sitting around while the other nine people in my group ate for fifteen minutes without me) but then when it came, it was a disappointment. My steamed bun was so tough, rice so clumpy it was one piece and under seasoned Brussels sprouts. The kara'agé and spicy mayo were good but not good enough to save this experience.

Marissa L.

Yelp
I had to write a review because the cashier Ryan was so amazing and such great energy!!! The tofu teriyaki bowl was also so good

Paul N.

Yelp
The food was good, but the person behind the counter was not informative or helpful. When I went to retrieve my food, I mentioned that it was my food, and he just gave a slight shrug. I know people have a bad day, but this person was extra. This is my first and hopefully negative Yelp review.

Hannah C.

Yelp
The food is soooo yummy and such a diverse menu! Service was quick and they send you a text when your food is ready!

Rayza R.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the orange chicken rice bowl! The chicken was perfectly crispy yet juicy inside. And those pork wontons? Chef's kiss! Highly recommend for anyone trying it for the first time!

Van N.

Yelp
We were super excited to hear a staple of Austin has graced us with their presence at HTX. Then we saw the omakase set and we had to check them out! We arrived on Saturday afternoon. They were visibly understaffed and swamped. After a little wait the chef gave us his 100% attention and care. Everything was explained and showcased beautifly. I tried to take a picture of every course but I was too excited and forgot one. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. We will definitely come back.

Christine P.

Yelp
I came to POST Houston on a double date, and my friend and I were really craving sushi, so we made this our stop. We wanted to try out the classic bowls. I tried the spicy salmon bowl with a mix of white rice and salad greens, and my friend tried out the spicy tuna bowl. They are a little bit pricier than your usual poke bowls. They also don't really have other toppings compared to your normal poke bowl places. I did really like the portion and size of the salmon slices though. I thought it would be spicy because I was expecting there to be some sort of spicy sauce but the spiciness actually comes from the jalapenos that come with the bowl. I would come back here again to try other items on the menu.

Tyson P.

Yelp
Tried omakase for $59 per person. Service is little slow bc they are short staff. The food is above average for $59. Japanese scallop, yellowtail, tuna, salmon, eel, red snapper, eggplant etc. 15 nigiri and 1 handroll. 4/5

Diem A.

Yelp
The takimaki's were good. My favorite were the shrimp tempura and salmon. The seaweed wrap was kind of chewy and hard to cut or bite. This place is in the Post Houston food hall. They have a kiosk that you can order at and they'll text you when your food is ready.

Sun-young K.

Yelp
This place has so much potential to be a casual Sushi house at a good price point, but it could use some work. I went there 2/9/2022 as soon as I heard they did $49 omakase. It is one of the POST Houston's food venues, so note that it is more a food court setting than a sushi house. The fish quality was overall good to okay. Some selections like Sake Toro and Hotate were over average. The rice season was good. The combination of soy sauce/eel sauce/yuzu/wasabi/etc. was also better than average sushi house. The portion was excellent - I got 12 pcs, which makes $49 omakase so much worth it. (But the $15 extra Santa Barbara Uni was just okay and not worth $15. I would not do it next time.) However, the rice was too warm, significantly lowering the sushi taste. (Also, I personally did not like the shari to neta ratio, but this is just a personal taste.) There was only one chef making sushi meaning extremely slow service, minus one more star. If they add at least one more sushi chef and don't use rice right away from the rice cooker, I would give this place 4-5 stars.

Alyssa U.

Yelp
Ordered the three hand rolls! Spicy salmon Spicy tuna Blue crab It was yummy and the tuna and salmon did not have that fishy taste. "Spicy" in the spicy salmon or tuna refers to the spicy Mayo! The rolls were definitely had very little to no spicy. It isn't the traditional "spicy tuna/salmon" where the fish is chopped and covered in spicy Mayo! I would get it again if I was not too hungry as this was a light snack for me! Ordered online while sitting down at a table, paid around $13, and it took 15 minutes to be made. Also I am not sure why the hours state "closed" on a Tuesday because we came on a Tuesday!

Mahwish S.

Yelp
Delicious fresh spicy salmon. We chose the salad option since we were trying one item from multiple spots. So we didn't want it too heavy. Loved this dish!

Wendy H.

Yelp
My friend raved about this place since she had been 2x so we checked it out on Thursday, 4/21 @ 5:30 pm. She mentioned the cost increased to $58 for 12 pieces. 3 of the 12 pieces were veggies. I would expect all fish at this point. The freshness and flavor were questionable... Unfortunately the experience was subpar since the interaction with the chef is part of the excitement. We got there 15 minutes early and met one of the managers and she didn't even acknowledge us with a smile as I mentioned we're here for our reservations. When we sat down they were very soft spoken. There was barely any engagement with us and seemed rushed but we were the only patrons there. The waitress was nice though. Overall that left a sour taste in my mouth since I try to frequent sushi spots often.

Shelby L.

Yelp
This review is based on the omasake service. Overall, it was just disappointing. I realize omasake is typically much pricier, but that doesn't make this not lackluster. The quality wasn't anything special and you also shouldn't have to pay $75 for lunch ($59+tax+tip) and be so hungry you have to go home and eat. It wasn't bad but it was not great. We went on a Wednesday at 1 and despite being nearly empty, the service was quite slow. The barstools are also incredibly uncomfortable. I've gone to POST several times for shows and meals, and I might try their other items but wouldn't order their omakase again.

Thuy P.

Yelp
Saw that they r now offering Omakase and so far it's the cheapest Omakase in town so we decided to try. It turned out better than I anticipated but honestly it's not the best sushi that I had. Services were very good. From the chefs who were very friendly to the staffs who always top notch on cleaning and serving. Compliment to chef Vu. Fish was fresh since they also belong to the golfstrommen next door. So the quality is there but the cut is a bit too thin. If you never try Omakase before and want to try with a budget of $49 then this is the place. The ambiance may not be the same at other Omakase since this is at the "food court" and in open space. But you surely will enjoy the Post before or after dinner. The roof top view is the best in town.

Kaitlyn P.

Yelp
My friend and I decided to try a few of their open hand rolls and are obsessed! We think it's one of the best restaurants in the food court. I was obsessed with the shrimp tempura one as there was so much flavor, no soy sauce needed! My friend loved the spicy salmon one. However, I wouldn't recommend anyone to order the blue crab one as it's very underwhelming and is just straight up rice and cucumber.

Michael S.

Yelp
This is a review of strictly their omakase. We were recommended this place by a friend who we hold in high regards for their food opinions but this was most definitely a miss. She recommended the omakase, which in theory I like, chefs table essentially where they make you 12 unique pieces. That's all fine but for $60 that's a steep price and I felt like I didn't really experience anything. All the pieces we got were good, mushroom was my favorite of them all, but I wouldn't recommend this to anyone. As for their regular menu that looked much better but we didn't get to try that. Beer was unique and good but again over priced. I know sushi is a premium food but it seemed overly high for what was offered. Overall this might be the last place I try in Post and it's not close.

Sarah K.

Yelp
Went to the location at Post on my lunch break during the week. Wanted to get some sushi, but was told that, although they were clearly open, the chef doesn't get there until 12:15... I was there at 11:40. Couldn't waste my break waiting around. It'd be nice if they made the hours that you can actually order anything sushi related public so people don't waste their time.

Ning Z.

Yelp
The hand rolls are amazing! The fish was super fresh. The blue crab is a must try! Only thing is the wait was a little long. Located inside The POST. Update: The manager reached out and apologized for the wait and offered a complimentary meal. Overall great service.

Bea S.

Yelp
I came to Post Houston hoping to partake in the Omakase at the East Side Kings counter. I got here at 4:30pm. The two people at the counter said No Omakase. Since they both seem to not understand English (relax...I'm not profiling. I asked if either spoke English and got a confused look back). Anyway, I couldn't get a clear answer as to whether it just wasn't the correct time to get Omakase, or if Omakase offerings are no longer served. Anyone know? I tried to Google, but got no answer

Nicosia M.

Yelp
The overall taste of the hand roll was reminiscent of other California rolls I've had however, this was my first hand roll ever and wouldn't choose it on any other day. The seaweed was just a bit too tough for my liking when biting the roll. The cashier was pleasant and service was efficient tho so I would definitely try something different there next time!

Julie L.

Yelp
Scan QR code to order. You will be notified to pick up through email. Make sure you have translation apps because of the language barrier. We communicated through body language and eventually figured it out by ourselves.

Tiffany D.

Yelp
I had the three hand roll option for lunch and chose one of each. Spicy Salmon, spicy tuna, and shrimp tempura. It was the perfect amount of food for lunch not to put me to sleep when I returned to work and it was really good $12 was average but I really enjoyed my meal here. It also left me with enough room for ice cream from flower & cream and I had a great meal. I would definitely return to try more items.

Food: 1/5 Service: 1.5/5 Ambience/Decor: N/A TLDR: this is a far cry from what ESK should be. Unhygienic, definitely not food safe, and to say the least...doesn't taste good. Go somewhere else. Food: Ordered the bun trio with two pork and a chicken. Also order 3 open faced hand rolls (spicy salmon, crab, and shrimp). This is so far removed from my prior experiences at ESK in Austin. I love ESK in Austin and this is a disgrace to be named the same. The buns were cold and stale, pork was disgusting and tasted dried out and very old. I would have to guess 3-4 days out, or if it was made that same day, it tasted as if it had been microwaved into oblivion. The chicken bun was mostly batter and sauce. The open faced hand rolls were surprisingly bland with the crab tasting watery. Anything else not mentioned was unremarkable. Service: The guy we ordered from was very nice, but the food took nearly 20mins and was not busy at all. The issue was how slow the cooks were. Not sure if they were new, but they were moving so slowly, I almost wanted to jump the counter and make it myself. The only saving grace was the guy again who thanked me for waiting. Now to kill the whole experience again...I sat there as the staff pull a sauce out of the lowboy and one of them takes their bare fingers and dips it into the sauce to taste test. Proceeds to take another taste test with the same finger that was in her mouth. Sauce goes right back in to the lowboy. What in the actual fvck....if anything, do you not realize that you're in the middle of a food court with people around you? This experience ruined my evening. Do better. Be better.

Yelp
I was really excited to try this affordable omakase but was disappointed. I feel like an omakase is supposed to be an intimate experience between you and the chef, even if there are minimal words exchanged, you feel welcomed and comfortable. This was nothing like that, the chefs barely looked at us. No one asked us how the meal was going or if they could get us anything. The sous chef did explain each piece but like she couldn't wait to move on. We weren't asked if we wanted ginger or soy sauce until a couple of pieces into the meal. As for the food, the rice was really warm which caused the temperature of the fish to warm up. I'm used to it being around body temperature not on the hotter side. The fish was ok. Wasn't bad, wasn't amazing. I was hoping the lower ratings on Yelp were just grand opening pains and that they probably resolved them by now. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend East Side Kings.

Yelp
Not a fan. I came to POST Houston and this was one of the only options that looked good, but the handrolls that came out were so soggy. The fish looked really strange, and I was even hesitant to take a bite. The handrolls are also really expensive for what they are. I don't recommend this place.

Yelp
I hate to be that person who gives low stars but this was truly a disappointing experience. I think it was def not wroth the $50 even tho considering omakase, that'd be a steal. Sushi quality is cheap, some pieces just really strange. And whoever inventing the menu, please take off that anchovies piece off, it if def a no no in anyone's book. Not to say there was no good pieces, but overall experience was mediocre to say the least. I think with $120 for 2 people, we can eat sushi with much better quality elsewhere. The Post, after all, is just a glorified food court.
