Google
I had a mailbox here for 6+ months and never had any issues with one piece of mail or packages sent here. Prior to opening an account here I called numerous places to compare prices and this was the best value if you do one of their multi-month packages. The super convenient location, actually functioning mail service and helpful staff just rounded it out to a 5/5.

Today was the second time that the guy at the checkout referred to me in a condescending tone without me interacting with him, zero respect or common sense, no one can be yawning with their mouth open in front of the customers.

Google
Dangerously amazing hand-picked selection of stationary, pens, cards, and notebooks. Kind staff. You can have your packages sent to the store for a small fee, which is great if you get stuff stolen in your building. Family run business, and one of a kind store :) I come here every time that I can! Frank & Jen are the best!!

Google
Love this east village gem. They have such a good selection of gifts for family and friends. Specifically these Toshie candles that have been so hard to get. Seriously the best smell and a beautiful decor piece.

Google
small East Village stationery shop with copy services, shipping services, passport photo services and more. stopped by here to make some copies made and it was quick and simple. the copier was easy to use and accommodated the variety of copies i needed to make. passport photos can also be made here —which I have had done, too. there are variety pens, papers, boxes, etc for your stationery and shipping needs. a variety of people stopped by here to ship items so I take it as a good sign that this is a good sign for reliable shipping. the staff here are friendly and accommodating.

Years ago, I wrote a review about how the man who works here (or possibly the owner) has been cold and impatient. He recently was very gracious when I had to do a stressful handful of shipments while juggling my 3 kids. I offered to let others behind me go in front, and he just was very nice and willing to let us finish everything. Thank you!

Google
This shop is heaven on earth! Journals, gifts, cards AND they do USPS shipping. Infinitely easier than the post office. ❤️❤️❤️

Google
The best little secret in the East village is that you can drop off UPS fed ex packages at East Village Postal! They also have so many cute products besides everything for your shipping needs & A really helpful staff.I

Yelp
Cute stationary store I think most of them are imported from Japan. they have a copy machine 20c - black and white 75c - color copy. shopping services are available as well. M15 bus (uptown) is one block or 1st ave stop (L) is walking distance.

Yelp
Called in advance about the pricing of getting the passport photos (2x2) - $12.99 plus tax at this local store. Showed up and the guy at the counter was helping a woman mailing her belongings to Australia while asking what I need simultaneously. The whole process was efficient. I got my passport photos within 15 mins! The store is lovely, filled with cute greeting cards and notebooks. It's a great local family business.

Yelp
"Yeah, you can mail stuff" So this is the go to place in the hood if you want to mail stuff. It's that exciting. All of the UPS, FedEx options are available What's to cheer - Friendly staff - Open long hours - Everything needed to mail anything is here What's to jeer - A little pricey

Yelp
This store is admittedly cute and stocked with all sorts of interesting stationary, cards, etc. I wanted to support a small business so I stopped in to buy stamps. Customer service was rather cold, but I'd like to chalk that up to the stress of shipping during the holidays? Additionally, they upcharge you for stamps by almost 20 cents per stamp. Overall, I expected much more from this store. I expected more personalized and friendly service but honestly, the service was a small step above the service you get at a normal post office, which doesn't say much.

Yelp
This is a great neighborhood postal spot, but there are few minor things that just don't make it 5-star. The staff is always very friendly with me and there's a good amount of materials for shipping and other goodies. My criticisms are that their opening hour is at 9:30 on weekdays but rarely do I see them open at this time. If I'm trying to get a package out early, they usually don't open shop until closer to 10. Another thing is that despite the conveniency, I find their shipping prices to be consistently higher than USPS because of upcharges. This is understandable for a small business, but sometimes I find the difference to be a little more than expected. Regardless, they have a lot of supplies and if you ever need to pack anything up they are able to pack it well with stuffing and bubble wrap. You can bring an item in and they'll be able to take care of the rest basically. But wouldn't recommend if you are looking to be cost-conscious, but dropping off packages that are already labelled is a different story.

Yelp
Bizarre the only word I could think of is bizarre a family owned business that I went into for many years sold the business to a new family a bunch of years back I got along great with both families over the last 20 years I would say of that somewhere between 30 to 50 people they hired I got along with well with all of them including all members of the family it was so pleasant that there were times they stayed open a little later to finish work for me and I would tip people out that is until one day when they hired this one person that was mean snotty nasty and just about the worst person I've ever dealt with in the store Or any store in the East Village the first couple of times I didn't say anything I let it go by it kept happening to the point where I actually said to the person "I'm a customer I've been coming in here 20 years this type of store charges extra money so you don't have to wait online at the post office I have spent thousands and thousands of dollars in the past years in the store you are not doing your job you're not treating a valued customer properly" he just got snottier and as nasty as can be one day I called up saying I'm on my way I'll be there in a few minutes they said as long as you get here before seven technically almost like a Larry David moment I held up my cell phone and it said 6:59 I said "I had one package I had the address I had everything done all you have to do is weigh it and charge me it'll take three minutes, please! I ran up here five blocks" Mean guy just kept shaking his head no no no no I yelled at the guy that in all the years I've been coming here I've never been treated so poorly so disrespectfully and for no reason you are the worst person They ever hired by far and the guy just shook his head no no you can't come in so I called the guy a name Well that started a fire storm I got a phone call back from the owners daughter saying that I called the mother a name ! I said "no all I did was tell the guy you're a bad worker you treat people like crap and you're the worst person I've ever dealt with in 20 years here he could care less, then I called him a name" the daughter claimed I called the mother a name This is a person who upon entering the store I would always say "hi MOM" I tried to explain to her that I would never do that I didn't do that but she was hysterical on the phone wouldn't let me talk started treating me like shit now and I kept trying to talk I kept trying to say what happened and that she should take my concerns into consideration she wouldn't stop talking wouldn't let me talk and finally I said you know what and that was the end I started cursing I said you know what? I want to thank you for saving me thousands of dollars I'm not being overcharged anymore I guess I have to go wait online now and save thousands of dollars over the next few years bye-bye to a store Store that hired wonderful people And because of one idiot that they hired they lose a customer of decades this is now my least favorite store in the neighborhood

Yelp
I had a great experience with East Village Postal up until it was time to pick up my package. I called to give them my information and told them I would be mailing a package. I called when the package was supposed to arrive and they confirmed it was there, and everything was set. I arrive today to pick up my package and was treated like complete sh*t by the guy at the front desk. Apparently, the employee wasn't supposed to open an account over the phone and therefore, he proceeded to take out his anger on me. This guy was so incredibly rude and made me feel like I did something wrong. If they fire the guy in the front I would consider using their services again, if not, no thanks!

Yelp
A lot more than postal, so many wonderful stationary pads, books, cards, and wrapping paper. Would highly recommend popping inside.

Yelp
Awesome service, mail arrives on time and really interesting cards/goodies in the store. Goodbye postoffice ha.

Great curated selection of goods, my go to for cards stationery and oh so fun reusable baggu totes.

Yelp
It's not every shipping store that you walk into that makes you feel at home. The East Village Postal Shop does. This is way more than a shipping store, in fact, it's a gem of a stationary shop with eclectic cards, beautiful notebooks, Japanese writing instruments, and more. They do a beautiful job with delivery of orders - everything is always wrapped to perfection when I receive a new notebook or a planner. On top of it, they help with A-Z shipping needs, whether it's a letter or the many packages I mailed for a move. Thank you for running such a refreshing business.

Arielle C.

Yelp
They sell pretty stationary and little trinkets and I'd rather go here to mail things, where they'll help you and speak to you, instead of the post office, which can be fine but you never quite know what you'll get.

Yelp
So convenient for package dropoffs for FedEx/UPS, but also USPS if you need to get something fully packed and shipped. I recommend going here compared to any of the other chain stores!
google avatar

Whitney W.

Yelp
Such a convenient spot to mail packages and then shop! It always has the cutest gifts and cards. The store windows are designed really well. Always fast and helpful service. I always drop off my packages here but then end up buying myself or a friend something...support local!
google avatar

Samantha R.

Yelp
Had an unpleasant experience shipping luggage from here. I understand times are tough given the pandemic, but "service" was incredibly rude and passive aggressive. Plus I was upcharged for weight and wasn't aware until after I paid and got receipt. Wanted to support local during these times but should have just opted to head to a UPS.

Yelp
We needed to print our hockey and basketball tickets and this was close to where we were staying. Fast, easy service. Right on 14th street in the East Village. Lots of office supplies with some original and creative cards you can pick out for your peeps. They are open Mon-Sat but closed on Sunday. Would check the hours of operation first before walking over. For travellers its a great option to deliver and receive packages and mail.

Yelp
I started renting a delivery box here several years ago when I started writing to a prisoner and wanted to be able to use an address other than my home. I like that the delivery address isn't a dead giveaway, like "P.O. Box ---" and anyway, I use the address mainly for receiving parcels now. Because my building is a walkup with no doorman, I could pay a neighbor who's always home to receive my parcels--and who's always home nowadays, anyway?--or I can get delivery here. They receive UPS, FedEx, Parcel Post--or I guess they call it Media Mail nowadays--from Monday thru Saturday. I'd so much rather go here than the post office--and I can bring my dog here. They love dogs!

Anna M.

Yelp
I've lived in the EV forever, since the early '80's; it's a neighborhood with a wide latitude for unconventional behavior. Yet some of the newcomers don't get that "cool" doesn't exclude eye contact, please, hello, thank you, and yes, even looking up from your device when a customer is standing before you with a question or a package. Saying "Just put it down there," without looking up is rude, maybe racist, ageist, sexist, or just stupidist. Please don't behave as if your customer is an interference with your work: we are your work. That's the deal: don't just perfect your eyeliner; use your eyes. Say hello and thank you. On the other hand, I like the shop and I'm happy it still exists when so many other places in the neighborhood are caving to chains.

Yelp
Just found out today that they are crooks. Measured my package at 2pds and it was a small bottle of juice they charged $18.00 i will walk to the post office on 14st and never give this small business a dime of my money in fact i hope they shut down for their scams will report to the post office master

Yelp
FYI: - FedEx: Pick-ups at 6 PM - If FedEx doesn't pick up by closing time (7 PM) East Village Postal will drop it off at shipping location for a 10 PM overnight delivery I am posting this because the womanchild who works here views questions as a confrontation rather than the disemination of information about what customers can expect to make educated decisions for themselves. At 6:40 PM I made the apparently egregious error in my not-knowing-the-process of asking if it would be alright for me to walk it to the FedEx location on Houston in case the FedEx guy doesn't show up in time. Customer service is about her comfort level with the information she disperses. So... know you know and you won't have to ask and get her upset.

Yelp
Well, if you're looking for a price increase for sending the same package from the USPS, then this is the place. Seriously, you pay for the convenience of not having to deal with the braindead drones who work for the government. This place is EXPENSIVE, but hey, the cool kids are there with their tiny dogs, so cool.
google avatar

OH K.

Yelp
Had to mail return a package that was one pair of pants and another that was a pair of kid shoes. I told the guy I needed to have tracking on it (aka Delivery Confirmation) and he ended up charging me $45 to mail both of them via USPS. I believe he must have sent them USPS Overnight Express or something to charge that amount but I didn't think to question it because he processed them so quickly. I don't think I'll be back if the person doing the shipping doesn't understand what the best/most efficient options for shipping are. That is why you go to a place like this.
google avatar

Yelp
Needed passport photos in a hurry. They were friendly, efficient, and super reasonably priced. Highly recommend.

David C.

Yelp
Great prices for a privately owned shipping store. Came after here after visiting the new horrible UPS a few blocks south, and found this store to have much better prices on packing materials & services. The staff is pleasant & easy to do deal with.

Deganit N.

Yelp
Outstanding! It's so soothing and relaxing in here, it's beautiful, clean, organized and the service is next level! I had over 30 packages to ship to various locations domestically and internationally. It was a tall order and they helped me find the most cost-effective way to do it all, which required re-boxing a few of the packages. They helped me with the re-boxing! And even taught me a few things about how to ship fragile items. All with so much kindness and grace and the ability to serve other customers, as well! I'm blown away! I was prepared for a lengthy, treacherous shopping experience and this was anything but. I cannot recommend East Village Postal enough! A million stars!
google avatar

Mary F.

Yelp
Very happy with the service, helping me to save $$$$. All the shipping options carefully, patiently explained. It's a charming place on a vintage block in the East Village. Worth crossing the bridge to get here!
google avatar

Christopher C.

Yelp
I used this postal service for mail delivery for about ten years and always had good service and customer relations. They would let me borrow their hand truck when necessary and would pack boxes on occasion. Recently moved to an apartment where I can trust the mail delivery, but I still come here whenever I need to send something UPS/Fed Ex. Wanted to post this review since want to balance out a couple of "single instance" customers who obviously rarely have used this location.
google avatar

Jessica R.

Yelp
Wow. The dude behind the counter is totally rude. Either a) hates his job or b) hates his life. Or c) all of the above.
google avatar

Ralph G.

Yelp
Came here to ship a delicate mid-century modern lamp. It was so big that it needed lots of packing peanuts and two large boxes. After assisting me with carefully packing the first box, Jenny helped me find a box elsewhere since they were out of their largest boxes. She even let me leave the lamp in the store while I went to get the second box!! Truly exceptional service and I cannot recommend this place enough. I've been here many times in the past and it's always been good, but today left me with a smile on my face (which, let's be honest, isn't generally how you imagine a trip to a post office going!) so I just had to write a review.
google avatar

Khairul A.

Yelp
I came here to buy cardboard boxes. The option is quite complete, but the staff is not too excited to greet the costumers.

C B.

Yelp
Downgrading these guys after using them for years. Still convenient for drop-offs but the employees are RUDE. Also, shipping is marked up vs a UPS or FedEx store and they added an inch to each side of a box I was sending out. I love to support local business but I'm done with these guys.

Catherine F.

Yelp
I use to come here often but one of the employees was so incredibly rude that I decided to take my business elsewhere. When I asked the employee for the tiniest amount of help he acted like I was being a pain. I understand if you have one bad day but I won't tolerate being treated like trash every time I visit the store and pay money. They have cute cards and trinkets but I can't bring myself to buy anything because the interaction with the grumpy employee brings down my mood for the day
google avatar

Yelp
I've used this place a bunch of times, but never again. I'm just going to lay out my problems with this place pretty simply: 1) When you are an authorized FedEx shipping station, you should not be charging for the free materials that FedEx gives out. You, as a shipping station, get these for free and the customer can get these for free as well at any FedEx drop location or shipping center. So don't ask customers of your store for 50 cents to take a free FedEx envelope and not expect a fight. 2) You should be consistent in your rules. Don't offer the FedEx envelopes for free one day, charge the next day, then tell people they can't take them out of the store because you're afraid they won't do their shipping with you the next. Just stick to one thing. 3) You, as a FedEx shipping station, should not charge a fee for customers who are dropping off a prepaid FexEx shipment. The last one got me the most. I have a FedEx account and ship things frequently and NEVER has a shipping center charged me to leave a package with them for pickup. That's just not how it works. They literally have to do NOTHING with the package. The customer does all the work, brings it into the store and leaves it in a pile. Whenever I used to come here, I was never charged a fee for leaving packages with them to be picked up by FedEx, just as it is at every other shipping center. The last time I came in here, I asked the guy at the counter where I could drop my boxes just like I had many times before, and he told me that there was a $3 fee for dropping a box. So, I got the lucky opportunity to pay $12 to simply put some packages in a pile. I had already paid to ship them through FedEx online. I shouldn't have to pay twice to ship a package. I don't know if this was a recently implemented policy or if I just looked stupid, but I definitely am not going to do anything with them again.

Yelp
I don't know why anyone would go to a Staples, Kinkos, etc... when you can support a small business like My Little Village. I have no idea what their lease looks like, but they must be an old timey face on the avenue. This space would command some serious loot if it were to change hands and become a frozen yogurt joint, but for now it's my go-to stop for all things related to sending mail. Their rates on FedEx and UPS are as competitive as they come, the staff is super friendly, and if you're in need a PO box, they have great deals on them. They also have a respectable selection of office supplies. Nobody writes with anything but the tips of their thumbs anymore, but if you need to physically write out a check or something, they've got you covered. They also do passport photos for as inexpensive as I've seen. Traveling aboard and live in East Village? Might want to hit them up.
google avatar

alex w.

Yelp
Very friendly and pleasingly non-corporate (though fully professional). They have a package receiving list that's very convenient--pay $10, and receive packages via their storefront for the rest of your life. They call you when you receive something. You pay $3-$5 when you pick it up. Perfect for East Village dwellers who aren't at home during the day. No more interminable waits at the 14th st. post office to pick up socks from Aunt Mildred. They do a nice, quick job of shipping UPS, Fed Ex, etc.
google avatar

Heather P.

Yelp
Horrible. NEVER go here. Shipped a package out of this location to Port Washington , New York and my client never received the package. I went back to find out what happened after 2 weeks and asked for my money back. They sent me to the post office to find out. I took my return receipt requested slip to the post office and apparently the package was never scanned and the post office had no record of it. They could've thrown it in the garbage for all I know. They refused to give me my money back and lied and said it was not their responsibility. They said to give it another week. 3 weeks to ship to port washington from manhattan? I don't think so. Take my advice do not risk sending your package with these rude people.

Dexter D.

Yelp
If you need to mail something you can do it here. I opened a private mailbox 15 minutes further from my apartment to avoid having to experience the attitude I've received the three times I've gone in. I work in a grocery store and understand customers can be hard. The younger person working here is one of those hard customers the irony being she's supposed to be providing customer service. The people at village postal works are lovely and don't treat their friendly customers like an inconvenience.
google avatar

Christopher M.

Yelp
Support this dude's business! I trekked around this area of town trying to find a shipping place that would allow me to avoid the post office. Other places were shady, and the one I found to be the least shady didn't offer delivery confirmation. When I gave up, I found Little Village Postal. I walked in, was immediately attended to, found out they offered delivery confirmation, and he had me happily out the door in less than two minutes. The store is quite large for the area. It was neat. And there seemed to be a lot of regulars coming in and out. Good find!
google avatar

Nick G.

Yelp
Very rude staff. They wouldn't let me use their scissors! More importantly, they can't provide a receipt for sending in an online return. I live right across the street but will be going to the UPS on 3rd and 9th from now on

Nashom W.

Yelp
These guys are truly the best!! Always friendly service with a smile. Forget the uncivilized post office and give this place your business. They're grrrreat!!!

Yelp
I recently purchased a bunch of stuff from Obscura and they suggested My Little Village to ship the items back to Boise. I was glad they did. They were fairly busy when we got there and the owner asked if she could call us when they were done boxing up the items. We went for lunch and about 1/2 hour later they called to let us know the package was ready. The owner seemed very freaked out by a puppet that we had purchased.. but not the skull, which seemed funny. The charge was what I expected for heavy items from NY to Boise.. but I had no idea what to expect from the packaging and if it would all make it ok. Once I got home the package showed up that same day and while it took me 15 minutes to remove all the packaging I was happy to see that they had really taken their time in making sure my package made it safe and sound. Will use them any time I need to make sure something gets from NY to Boise with care.

Pamela R.

Yelp
I drop off returns here endlessly. UPS, FEdex, USPS. Drop off is the fastest ever. My returns always ship to their destination. Great hours too, including weekdays until 7 and Saturdays until 6. Thank you for serving our neighborhood!
google avatar

Marion R.

Yelp
I go here for all my mailing needs and always end up staying in the store longer browsing all the cute stuff they sell too :) Everyone has been super helpful to me every time I visited. I don't know much about shipping internationally and they taught me everything I need to know. Love this place!
google avatar

Allie P.

Yelp
These guys helped me both pack and ship a valuable painting safely from NYC to SF. Great experience, would use them again!

Jill K.

Yelp
Due to Covid 19, we had to get all of our College student's belongings from NYC back to LA. Sending home 19 boxes full of computer equipment, a monitor, clothes, and vinyl records WOULD have been a stressful process had it not been for Jennifer Ro at East Village Postal. She was AMAZING! She skillfully repacked a very large Wacom computer monitor along with a smaller monitor, and much more. Everything arrived quickly and safely. I highly recommend this place - especially for all of you parents out there that are trying to ship stuff to/from your college kids!
google avatar

Suzanne E.

Yelp
I had to mail some stuff back to Chicago from here to avoid carrying it back in my luggage. That's how I discovered it. I promptly fell in love with its eccentric rituals (to me--it's just set up differently than Chicago Post Offices and has some cool old-school features) and kind staff. I ended up mailing another shipment home because of an unexpressed craving to revisit the place, and next time I'm in town I will likely decide to write postcards to friends simply because this will enable me to go back to the place and buy stamps. If this establishment had a bar I'd hang out there. Special thanks to the dude with the old-hippie vibe who was so patient with my not knowing the ropes--he could probably work with refugees.
google avatar

Allie G.

Yelp
Great place to ship. Pretty big shop with plenty of options for packaging and other related items like wrap and greeting cards. They also have personal lockers where you could have packages delivered. Would use them again!

Yelp
Nice ladies, took care of me, took the stress out of shipping. Which is saying something.
