"At this former fruit market building downtown, you'll find all the city's sizzling street food under one roof. From Chinese noodles to Middle Eastern falafel to bunny chow, a quintessentially South African Indian dish, you'll sample the world under one roof (and for next to nothing to boot)." - Mary Holland

Definitely overwhelming! But you order in the center and hand your ticket to the restaurant(make sure you have your receipt with you). The bunny chow was hot and delicious something to share with a group of people cause it’s big! The fried rice was oily, along with the dosa due to the cheese. The atmosphere though was really cool! The doors and lights definitely felt like I was in a different world! I wish I would have ordered more stuff cause it’s so cheap!

Two words. Bunny chow. Don’t sleep on this epic curry in a bread bowl. You pay first and then take your ticket to the appropriate counter- don’t stand at the counter hoping to order, they’ll just ignore you because you’re annoying. This place seems like a “real” place- where actual people who aren’t tourists have a meal and annoy time with friends. I loved it.

Great place to go to if you feel for Indian food. Cheap and quick! The sit down area is a bit messy as people leave their tables dirty or leftovers everywhere. Besides that, great place!

Eastern Food Bazaar is an absolute gem in Cape Town! My husband and I love dining here, and it’s our go-to spot for a wholesome meal. The variety of freshly prepared food is incredible, catering to every craving imaginable. The portions are generous—so much so that we always share a serving, and it’s still more than enough. Despite being a bustling hotspot, the staff are so well-organized that even with a line at the counter, the flow is impressively quick. Just remember, there’s no table service; you grab your seat and place your order at the counter, which adds to its casual charm. Desserts and ice cream are top-notch, making the perfect end to the meal. If you’re looking for quality food, great value, and a lively atmosphere, Eastern Food Bazaar should be at the top of your list!

Was glad to be able to try this out this popular spot. We came as part of a food tour. This felt like a food court with a variety of different stalls that you can order from. We got a bunny chow. This is our first and only bunny chow and we loved it. It was so tasty. Would have loved to come back and try many more things!

Ordered the Mysore masala dosa, samosas & masala dosa for lunch. Food was really tasty and portions were big. Only issue that made it an unpleasant experience - We sat upstairs, but the homeless people were also roaming upstairs and standing and begging at the tables for food. So be cautious and watch your belongings. Toilet facilities and hand wash stations are available

Tried the famous bunny chow. It was delicious. I haven’t even thought about using regular bread for tikka masala. It really soaks up the flavor.
