Eaton Canyon Falls

It can be a fun hike. But there was so much foot traffic that it made it hard to enjoy the walk. There's several crossings on water and I would recommend for any age if they're willing to step in water. Otherwise, it's not suitable for the elderly due to slippery rocks and kids under 6 may need to be carried. At the beginning of the hike there's a vendor which you can probably take advantage of after the hike too and purchase fruit, drinks, chips etc. Tickets are not required but parking in the neighborhood may be hard to find.

This hike is great for a nice family outing and adventure. Your feet will definitely get wet, so prepare for that. Make sure you have water, maybe a snack, and good hiking shoes. The parking their is good and the nature center is cool. The center has native animals like tarantula, snakes, and lizards. We went during Earth day so it was packed. The creek crossing could get congested and their is a lot of rock/boulder climbing. Their are restrooms at the center and porto john on the way.

This trail was amazing! BEAUTIFULLY maintained! (continue to pack out what you pack in :)! ) The waterfall route is definitely worth the trek. There are about several water crossings but some are optional to be on certain sides of the water. The water crossing are a mix of rocks and some logs placed to get across. The water temperature is cold and crisp. The depth is about waste deep ( I’m 5’7) . I suggest hiking in shoes, bring extra socks , and crocs!

today was my first time visiting this beautiful waterfall. the hike wasn't so bad, but you're definitely gonna get your feet wet. the water was pretty cold, which I absolutely loved. I took my son with me and on a Saturday it was quite full of people. make sure to pack a small lunch and drinks and always take all thrash with you. pack some extra clothes and shoes. i ended up going insane the waterfall the day was stunning, and how often can you get a chance to do this.

Easy but busy hike. Beautiful and full of water after the rain. Pick your shoes carefully because if you come on a day soon after rains, you'll need to cross the water often. It is very crowded on a Sunday afternoon so be prepared to wait at crossings or where the trail gets narrower. It's shaded along most of the way so it's very pleasant.

Honestly absolut beautiful if you consider it’s in la. About 30-45 minute hike without elevation. A very fun hike mostly in the shade where you pass the river a few times .

This is a beautiful trail that is relatively easy with river crossings and close to LA. You don't even have to drive up the mountains. Plenty of street parking, even on a busy day. One of the most accessible bang for your buck hikes. The trail is short compared to other fall trails. The downside? Well, since it is so accessible and close to LA, you will be seeing LOTS of people. This is NOT a place I would recommend if you want to get away from the big city and noisy crowds, or if you want some peace and quiet. This feels more akin to Yosemite during the summer or Disneyland. Because it is so accessible to those from all over the city, expect to see lots of dog poop bags on the ground, and lots of loud boomboxes at every corner. Thankfully it is cleaner than Azusa river, were it is typically filled with graffiti and trash. Great hike, but do expect to see a lot of the same type of LA people you would find at your local mall/walmart here. Highly recommend to get hear early, as you will avoid most of the crowd. Even then, there was already a crowd waiting at 8:00 for the gates to open. The nature preserve was neat :)

Parking lot & overflow parking lot does not open until 8 AM , street is tough but not impossible. This is one of my preferred hikes. Crossing the stream multiple time throughout the trial and plenty of much needed Rock Stepping & Jumping to cross the streams in calf deep brisk cold water 2 - 2 ½ hour if you rush through 3 - 3 ½ Hours if you coast and live it up Dog Friendly 💚

A fantastic place to go hiking! It's a nice reward because you get to see and enjoy a beautiful waterfall at the end of the trail. We put "Eaton Canyon Trail Head" on Google Maps and it brought us directly to their parking lot and there's more than enough spots for everyone but of course it's always best to come as early as possible which is 8am. The hike was easy overall. I highly recommend wearing proper hiking shoes/boots because there are plenty of rocks that you have to walk through midway through the hike. As you get closer to the waterfall you have to start crossing the creek that has even more rocks and water so please be careful and wear the proper shoes to keep yourself safe! I saw a few people fall down trying to cross the creek because of the wrong shoes. It took us about 1 hour and 50 minutes to complete the hike from beginning to end. I believe you can finish the hike in 1 hour and 20 minutes if you are a fast walker and don't stay at the waterfall for very long. Definitely one of our favorite hiking trails in SoCal!

This is one of my favorite trails. It can take about an hour to get to the waterfall. On the way to the waterfall, the scenery is rustic and rugged but still has some charm. Go early, otherwise you will encounter a lot of people on the trail. This trail seems to attract large groups or families. And please note this trail isn't for first timers due to the many crossings that require good balance and concentration. The dirt trail and scenery reminded me of some of trails on the East Coast in Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia. Parking is free but if you get there after 9:00am, be prepared to walk a ways from the overflow lot to the beginning of the trail.

Great hiking place near Pasadena. The hike total was about 3.1 mile with lots of river rocks to cross. Wear hiking shoes and enjoy a fun hike with family. Waterfall in the end is beautiful.

Wear shoes you don't mind getting wet! This is a great hike that offers a moderate walk without too much incline into the canyon. You cross over the the stream many times with the options to step over rocks or straight into the stream. At its deepest it's about 2 feet. There's 2 mini waterfalls from the stream and the large one at the end about 20ft high. If you wear water shoes you can walk in if not you'll step on some rocks but still worth it. Pretty good amount of people on this hike especially on the weekend!

My son loves coming to Eaton Canyon Falls Trail for a little hike to the stream. It's an easy and fun little hike for our family. The kids like to go to the visitors center and little gift shop afterwards. They enjoy seeing the little exhibits with snacks and bugs. There's also lots of stuff to explore. There is even a little patio area where there's a place to rest and for the kids to have a snack. On the day we went, they had some tables set up for educational fun facts, things to see and touch. We learn something new each time we visit. On the weekends it does get crowded, expect to park on their overflow parking which is ample parking but on a dirt lot.

The hike was such a great place to go. So many beautiful sights and it connects to a few longer trails. A good one to bring your pet too as well.

A great 2 mile hike to an amazing waterfall! Go early in the morning especially if you take your dog to avoid heat. Although there is a ton of lot parking and street parking it gets hot the later in the morning you wait. We arrived at 9:30am and the lots were almost full. None the less, despite there being a steady flow of people the hike to and from parking took about 3.5 hours round trip. You will want to spend some time at the waterfall taking pictures, swimming and enjoying the cool water after hiking. The hike is marked easy but I would say it was moderate as there were a few steep areas to climb and several streams with submerged rocks to climb over. Wear your waterproof hiking boots for the best experience. Don't forget plenty of water and snacks and make sure to keep the trail clean!

Super awesome and EASY trail for the family with a mixture of inclines, rock climbing, and straight runs. Great with some shade as well! To get to Water Fall take the trail from the nature center and stay to the Left. Take the trail up all the way to the bridge. Once you hit that spot continue on but be ready to get your feet wet! About 30 min in from there you will see this beautiful waterfall! I heard it was over packed and dirty but it wasn't today, and I went on a Saturday morning at 10:30. Everyone seems to be willing to help with info and I didn't see much trash. Hike skill out of 5 with 4 being hard, I say it's a 2.5! Definitely kid friendly if you have the patience to take them, lol

The trail itself personally is a little challenging because you have to hop on rocks to get across the river probably at least 5-7 different times but overall it is not too bad and the waterfall at the end is beautiful to watch. I recommend sturdy shoes and hiking stick (which I did not have) if you're scared of rocks like me.

Who doesn't love a waterfall hike that you don't need to drive far out from the city?! Eaton is it! Easy to moderate hike, shaded trail, water in the stream. Good hike so it's pretty popular for the crowd. Avoid weekends if you must. Bring plenty of water and clean up after your snack after you're done enjoying the waterfalls. Prepare to get your shoes wet possibly as you need to trek across stream of water. Overall great for hike for family. Dog friendly too!

Eaton Canyon is an easy trail to start off for those who have never hiked before. What's unique about this trail is the nature it has to offer, plenty of shade when you get closer, and the fresh river. Towards the end of the trail, there's an amazing waterfall!. Be aware as it could get crowded during the day, especially the weekend during spring and summer. The majority of people here have no manners as they leave trash on the ground, no leash on dogs, and the annoyance of loud bluetooth speakers. Overall, I highly recommend checking this trail out.

Fun, exciting and rewarding at the end of the trail, you got to see the big waterfalls. Visit was an epic and for the core memories of the kids.
