4.5 / 5.0 - Eatrip is one of the coziest, incredible hidden restaurants I’ve been to in Tokyo. It’s located very centrally in Harajuku, tucked away behind a main street, surrounded by greenery and next to their flower shop. I came here with one of my friends last month and we had a fabulous evening in this lovely setting. For dinner, they have one course menu (7,700 yen incl. tax) and with drinks, it ends up being 9,000 yen or more per person. At a glance, the course menu looked quite large, with 7 dishes and a drink. However, each dish was just a couple of bites each, so it wasn’t as heavy and we could enjoy many different flavors. I can see how the portions may be too small for some. The service was fine, although not the friendliest and it did feel a little rushed the way they served one dish after another. Considering the price point and beautiful atmosphere, I wish the service were better. We still did have a wonderful farm-to-table experience and I look forward to visiting again. Menu on Mar 19: - Fave Beans & Chrizo Pound Cake - Seasonal Vegetables with Nuts & Miso Sauce - Marinated Bonito, Plum and Kale - Fukinotou Fritter - Sautéed Spanish Mackerel, Canola Flower & Cherry Shrimp Sauce - Grilled Beef, Kintoki Carrot Purée & Water Dropworts - Dessert: Choice of 4 Kinds of Citrus, Fromage Blanc Mousse OR Standard Custard Pudding, Espresso Cream & Amaretti - Drink: Choice of Coffee OR Herbal Tea

Borderline decent food for the price, but decent enough to support great atmosphere of a little Tokyo hideaway. Enjoy the beautiful decor, but don’t expect much of food or service. All the dishes lack cohesion, with chef pairing together two individually delicious ingredients but ruining the taste unity in the process. Salted fish and persimmons? Could be good, but not so here... Service is not bad, but reactions from a some staff members seem outright weird and awkwardly robotic. Try lunch if you are in the area and hungry, and dinner if you need that romantic feel. Don’t expect to be wowed though.

The best atmosphere for dinner!! We had a paring corse and everything was fantastic!! I really enjoyed everything we had and the course was just right amount for me to be able to enjoy the dessert as well. The staff are super friendly and they gave us good food presentation as well:) They use local organic ingredients. I loved all the details of interior too! Very much looking forward to going back again!

Incredible hidden gem in Shabuya. You enter off the back alley up a set of steps and dine in a tiny garden. Such a delight! We opted for the wine pairing which was absolutely perfect. Highlights of the menu were the vegetables with nut/miso sauce and melon gazpacho.

Beautiful place! Food is good but not for the price. We've been to many restaurants before and even though the atmosphere was fantastic and the food tasted good, the size of the portions and the flavour did not match with what we were charged. If you don't mind spending well over 100 dollars per person, give it a try because the place is really nice and the service is amazing. Otherwise, there are plenty of restaurants in Tokyo that offer a better value but at a less sophisticated place.

Google
Really cute farm to table style restaurant, I love the use of local produce and the knowledge provided on the ingredients by the staff. The atmosphere is lovely as it feels like a hidden oasis us the heart or Harajuku. The food however was nice but under seasoned and not memorable and we were still hungry afterwards.

Cozy place, food was fresh and really good. Pretty good date place, I feel like I wanted bigger portions but I guess that’s how it is for these type of restaurants. You definitely need to book a reservation because its quite popular.

The food here is amazing but on the expensive side (2500 for set lunch). Staff is super accommodating of dietary restrictions. The atmosphere is very calming, earthy but sleek -- such a beautiful restaurant! Try the mint tea, it's so good!

Yelp
*This review is for their morning time event (one weekend a month from dec 2016). I suppose I'm quite Swedish in that sense that I'm a morning person who sees breakfast as the most holy and delicious meal of the day. People don't really have time to eat proper breakfast in Tokyo, hence the overall lack of good breakfast places... ? Looking an alternative to all overly sweet pancake or shokupan breakfast joints in Tokyo? Already tried everything at Bills and want to try something new? Look no further. Eatrip serves simple but delicious breakfast like avocado & ricotta sourdough toast (1100 yen with coffee included), egg and ham toast (1000 yen, w. with coffee) and home-made granola and yoghurt. The coffee is especially delicious and is hand-dripped in front of you. Eatrip just recently started with their breakfast event (8.00-10.00, LO 9.30) but by the time we were heading out there was already quite a line outside, so I recommend getting your butt out of bed and come early.

Yelp
The farm-to-table/hipster/rustic style restaurant craze has captivated most cities in the USA. I don't think it's a well established dining genre in Japan, so Eatrip was a pleasant surprise, albeit a relatively unknown establishment, in the Shibuya district. Eatrip offers only pre-fixe menus with fresh, organic, and quality items. This comes at an affordable price at around 5,000 yen/head. With a slight Japanese fusion, Eatrip successfully infiltrates Japan with their style, catering to different taste buds. Presentation and service are also fantastic.

Yelp
For dinner, my wife and I ordered the fixed course and our son ordered al a carte. Excellent FRESH combinations and presentations. A charming setting with a sweet floral shop adjacent to it. Staff was friendly, welcoming and accommodating. They surprised my wife with a birthday dessert. Excellent for adults. Our son enjoyed it, but I might not recommend for fussy eaters.

Yelp
Precious, attractive little piles of artfully arranged food came out with each course, but taste-wise, there wasn't anything special, and the service was rather haphazard. Great little room, however, connected to a flower shop.

Yelp
This place is located in a beautiful and cozy back ally. Unique atmosphere, amazing food and drinks!

Yelp
I had read about Eatrip in a blog and decided to make a reservation. So glad I did! My family really enjoyed our meals. It was not a traditional Japanese restaurant, but the ingredients were so fresh and well prepared that the next day we were still talking about our dinner.
