Eau Claire Marathon

Not sure how the race is yet, but RunEC needs to review its 3rd Party Refund program. I paid the extra $$ at registration to be able to get a refund if I have to back out. My work now unfortunately requires me to be out of state on the day of the event so I went in to cancel my registration and get a refund with the intention to return next year. I would think if you pay an extra $20 to get refunded at cancellation, then you could get at least the cost of registration back no questions asked. But, whatever 3rd party program EC Marathon is using makes you fill out a form and is requiring me to have my employer send a note on "official company letterhead" stating the reason I won’t be racing. It's a tall order to have go to my employer now and ask for this like a note from my doctor or parent to miss school. If you have a death in the family, do you have to produce the death certificate to the 3rd Party too? RunEC should please consider reviewing who they are using for insurance/refunds and their policy, because life happens. I would understand going through this process if you did not take the refund option, but paying up front for a cancellation refund should not require such a stringent verification process. I

Can’t say enough great things about this race. Beautiful, fast course. Fun town from the activities the night before to the post-race party. Well organized. If you want an easy small town race with great fan support, this is your best choice.

Incredibly beautiful course and even more incredible spectators cheering you on and interacting with the runners, it was so much fun!

Awesome races! My fourth time participating at an Eau Claire event, volunteering and running. Regardless of the weather, people are out there cheering! The organization committee is super friendly! If you’re looking at running in 50 states, this is the place to do it in Wisconsin! Highly recommend!

Such a great race! Family friendly! Love the two days with so many options for the novice to the advance runner. We loved the kids obstacle course, our daughter had a blast! The staff and volunteers were so helpful and encouraging. Plus. The community involvement was wonderful! Would definitely recommend!

One of the best races around! The Eau Claire Marathon is so well put together! It is a beautiful course and has great spectators! The staff and volunteers are amazing. I would recommend to anyone to take part in any of the races they offer!

I've been running this race and race weekend since they started. It was my first Marathon, Half-Marathon, back to back races (Sweet 16), and still my favorite race venue. The course is set up so that spectators are able to move around to see their runners while tracking them on an ap. The water stations are about every two miles. Some other great highlights include wonderful volunteers, running over multiple bridges with fantastic river views, the Blue Gold Mile, and even friendly neighborhood people handing out freeze pops.

Top notch race organizers who think of everything! From the volunteers to the community members who come out to cheer in the streets, everyone goes above and beyond to pull off marathon weekend. It is always an amazing weekend in Eau Claire! Highly recommend any of the race distances if you are looking for a big time race with a small town feel.
