Diner is not my norm scene, came with kiddo upon request and overall experience was not bad. Atmosphere: a typical diner setting; even the landline ringtone matches it. Fairly clean and comfortable inside. Service: wonderful. Jorene was great, friendly, and attentive. Food: chicken quesadilla - was fully loaded with chicken and delicious. Maryland crab soup - the flavor was tasty and not too salty, but it could use more crab meat. Watermelon burrata salad - sounded interesting, so I had to give it a try. It turned out surprisingly delicious and refreshing. Sweet watermelon and soft creamy burrata cheese paired perfectly. Penne alla vodka with shrimp was delicious, not overly sauced, and the seasoning was just right. Fried chicken - the meat was very dry, the batter was thick and hard, do not recommend. Milkshake - thick and yummy. Chocolate brownies - dry and hard to eat, we had a difficult time using a spoon to take a piece off of it…ugh. Given the numerous dessert selections, I wasn’t expecting something this bad. Thought they will be good at them. Value: Given that the portion sizes and taste of the menu items are mostly tasty, the pricing is very reasonable and affordable. parking: plenty Do recommend for casual dining and takeout.

Google
Awesome experience for myself and wife's 23rd religious wedding anniversary. Darlene and the staff was awesome. We had great service and even a bonus blessing by Father Tim. Perfection! 😇😁

Google
Best diner in Baltimore!! Abundant parking. Clean bathrooms. Very friendly staff. Great portion sizes for very reasonable prices. So many menu options and everything I've ever ordered has been really good. The crab cakes are TOP NOTCH!

Google
One of our favorite spots to visit when in the area. The food has great flavor at a decent price. The sundaes are massive — proceed with caution and an empty stomach! The atmosphere is fun with its old diner vibe, but the service could use a little work; it’s obviously understaffed and the waitresses are over-extended at times. Try not to go when it’s busy. All-in-all, a fun and flavorful experience! Recommendations: Greek Platter, Patty Melt, Chicken Caesar Wrap, Strawberry Cheesecake Sundae.

Google
Really great atmosphere and friendly service. Food is always excellent and a great value. The ice cream creations are so beautiful!

Google
Fun diner with extensive menu but with many all day breakfast options. How can you not like it? Place is kept clean despite the bustle, prompt and friendly service, good portions and good food for the price. Highly recommend and will return.

Google
I've been wanting to try this place for a while. We enjoyed our food! I ordered the Chicken Cuban Rueben with Sweet Potatoe Fries. The brunch mate ordered the American Apple Pie Pancakes with eggs, fried potatoes and bacon. She truly enjoyed her food as well. I was brave enough to order one of their infamous milkshakes. I ordered the brownie one. It was delicious! I barely finished it due to being full from my food. The diner is clean, it's just a bit dated. I will be returning. I enjoyed my dining experience.

Google
Has diner in the name but no grease spoon. I ordered the broiled stuffed flounder, and there was plenty of lump crabmeat w imperial! Friendly wait staff and extensive entre and desert menu options.

Yelp
Cozy Spot with Tasty Breakfasts. Stopped in for a casual breakfast and was pleasantly surprised. The garden omelet was excellent--well-cooked, and generously filled with fresh ingredients. We also tried a toasted bagel with cream cheese. It came with a tiny bit of cream cheese- had to get a little bit more which we got charged $1. The bacon was cooked inconsistently. Service was friendly and quick. The only downside was the noise level--it got pretty loud. It's a typical diner with satisfying omelet.

Yelp
This establishment is hit or miss. They have some great specials, but a big menu and not everything is decent. You can't go wrong with breakfast items and the desserts, but lunch and entrees are all over the place...as is the service. Tonight I had the french onion soup. The dish was hot as was the melted cheese, but the soup was luke warm. I ordered the hot roast beef platter and it also came out also luke warm. The waiter was helpful and said crap, they've been doing this all day (the kitchen), they aren't paying attention to detail. If you are a regular and know what is good for you, then you're ok. But until you find that sweet spot, beware of inconsistency.

Yelp
Was finally able to check out the Ellicot City Diner. Went for dinner on a Saturday around 6pm. We were promptly sat on the booth side of the diner. It took about 5 mins for a server to come over and get our drinks and then another ten or so to bring them, there were two of us and I got a water. We ordered the shrimps bisque as an appetizer and it was really good! Would highly recommend. My girlfriend ordered the seafood pasta which came with large pieces of shrimp. The pasta dish itself was huge but lacked any serious flavor, it tasted like heavy cream. I ordered the bbq burger with egg. The patties were awesome and fresh but the bbq sauce was very runny and sweet. Not quite sure it was bbq sauce. The side salad was big and full of fresh veggies. We noticed a massive case of desserts on our way out and will try them next time! Overall, you get a ton of food for the money.

Yelp
I love EC diner! The staff are always welcoming, the place feels like a second home, and the service is great. I have to start by giving a shout out to our waitress, Jo. She took special care of my kids. Whatever they whispered at her, she ran to get it and that made my night at a restaurant with kids survivable. The food is also just down right, spot on, perfect diner food. Most diners are meh. EC diner is the diner to go to and sets my standards for finding a good diner. The food is always tasty, the options are endless, and the dessert case is just fun. Even my salad was unbelievably good. A salad!

Yelp
This restaurant always hits the spot. The staff is very friendly and the service is quick. This is a classic diner with better food than the old school diner. The true underrated unsung hero is the breakfast gyro. Everything is cooked to perfection and there's something special about warm feta cheese inside a wrap that makes it ultra satisfying. The gyro meat adds a savoriness that makes you want more as well. After your meal, don't just pay the bill and leave, check out the dessert case and get something special. My families favorite is the peanut butter cup mousse. It delivers on all the chocolate and peanut butter taste that will make you happy the rest of the day!

Yelp
We came here after an event because we thought it would give us Jersey diner vibes. But it only met the mark on a few things. The menu was really diverse and even had some cool things like goat cheese brulee, Korean Brussel sprouts, and pancake wraps. So we appreciate the inventiveness. However the food was lack luster. My husband's cheese steak was not good. It felt like someone forgot to get a humidifier as well because this place just felt damp from humidity and the floors really need to be cleaned. It was an ok experience.

Yelp
Every time I go to EC Diner, I walk away impressed. I recently celebrated my birthday and it will now become my traditional birthday dinner destination. I feasted on 3 tender lamb chops with a huge crab cake. One of the best so ever had. It came with two sides and I recommend the Athenian style green beans and mashed potatoes. Enjoyed a chocolate mousse dessert to top off the evening. Brendan L was our server and he was busy with many stations but always made time to make sure we were happy. He went above and beyond. One of their owners, Spiros, also stopped by to make sure we were satisfied with everything. As a fellow Greek, I appreciate a good Greek owned diner.

Yelp
Our first visit to EC Diner was an absolute dumpster fire experience- ordering to-go we had incorrect orders, bad food (no seasoning, soggy), bad attempts at recorrecting our order, and with that bad staff interactions- but we've heard friends loved their dine in experience, so we decided to give them another shot during RW- we each ordered a 4course tasting menu-selecting different dishes to run through variety- I ordered: feta salad, falafel bao bun, stuffed soft shell, and cannoli Husband ordered: ceaser salad, crab hushpuppy, crab cake & lamb, and hazelnut cannoli the experience was better than our first, food as well- staff was very friendly, very attentive, checking in on us frequently the food was also better than our first visit- the crab hush puppy was the only item I didn't care for- I felt their sauce was way too mayo based giving an oily sickening taste- but other than that everything was well seasoned, with delicious bold flavor- their crabcakes are very hearty, thick crab, not too much filler- the lamb chops were cooked perfectly-moist juicy- the salads were massive-we actually ended up just boxing them up for lunch the next day- full meals on their own! the stuffed soft shell was well stuffed-with a unique sauce the cannoli would have been better if they filled their shells to-order, they were a bit soggy from being pre-filled but the flavor was good though they lacked the delectable crunchness we would go again to try other unique menu items- definitely sticking with dining in only

Yelp
Man I love this place. Food is great and the owner is hands on and always here! Place is clean and everyone is friendly. Best Hamburger steak around. You get a full pound with 2 eggs, fries/home fries, and toast for $20.99. Sheri was my waitress at the counter. Always great service!

Yelp
Awesome old school diner right in Ellicott City. I stopped in to meet my co-workers for breakfast during a snowy Wednesday morning. It's a traditional style diner with counter seating or you can choose a table. It wasn't too crowded and they had the lot cleared so there was ample parking. The waiter we had was friendly and he immediately brought out water and took our drink orders. I just wanted a black coffee. For my breakfast a chose the pancakes with a meat of your choosing. I got the scrapple. The food came out pretty quickly but we all just ordered simple breakfast items. My order came with 3 page pancakes, more than enough to fill me up. The scrapple was thick cut, crispy on the outside. I know some people prefer thin cut so just be aware if you come here they don't have it that way. Price was cheap, my meal was around 15 with the drink included. I had plenty leftover so took a mall box to take them home. Definitely my go to spot when I want diner food. I only ever go for breakfast but may try their lunch or dinner menu one day.

Yelp
The service was pretty good for an Easter Sunday. Food was good overall. The rockfish could have been cooked a little longer. The MD crab soup was very tasty. Seafood deviled eggs were solid but not amazing. Would definitely go back and try one of the burgers and the elaborate shakes I saw people getting.

Yelp
Update: Tried the latte--- highly recommend! Unlike many places suffering from inflation and worker shortages, the prices at EC Diner have not gone up and the quality of food and service has not gone down. Miss Fussy-Pants asked for her Florentine crepe to be made of buckwheat, to add ham, and to cook it well-done because she likes the cheese to be all melty and the crepe to be nicely browned... success! My complicated order came out perfect! Thank you, EC

Yelp
I am a diner snob! And, man o man, this was a good one! I had their St Patty's Day special-open Reuben & potato leek soup. I devoured it so quickly and unfortunately forgot to take a photo. The service was exceptional!! Despite having a busy night, the food came out pretty quickly and as described, a testament to the diner's fantastic operation. I am in town for the weekend but will make every effort to return on Sunday for breakfast.

Yelp
Important note - this establishment is really loud if the tables are full. I'm mentioning it because some people are sensitive to noise. ie people with hearing aids. Other than that we had an enjoyable weeknight family dinner. The food was delicious. 3 members ordered a crab cake dinner that included crème brûlée, another the chicken cordon blue, a chopped hamburger steak with vegetables, Greek wrap. All were enjoyed. The waiter, forgive me I forgot his name, very talk thin man. He was excellent! We were there for a birthday. Party of 7. The staff and dining room sang to the birthday woman. It sounded really good!

Yelp
Food- large portions as you want out of a diner Big taste and satisfying. Ambience- the diner was packed. Luckily a table was being cleaned when we walked in just before the rush. Amazing place for a weekend brunch.

Yelp
I had the big Greek Salad. It was fresh and tasty. Service is excellent! Well worth the wait. This is an old style diner. Love this place. Will be back.

Yelp
Let's be honest I came for the extreme milkshakes but was pleasantly surprised by how generous their portions are on entrees as well. The menu is pretty extensive covering all the usual diner fare but the desserts are the star of the show. The most inviting glass case full of pie, cake, and a host of sweets treats welcome you at the door and those wildly good shakes are not to be missed!

Yelp
My husband and I tried this restaurant a few times prior to being a Yelper and the food and most importantly the service has always been on point. We always came to this restaurant for breakfast because that is the most important meal of the day. I have also turned my parents on this diner and now they frequent this restaurant more than I. My parents chose this restaurant for a birthday celebration for our family and the food and service did not disappoint. Everything was fresh and bought out very quickly. My parents drinks tons of coffee so their cups were always filled. The waiter was very attentive to our table while the restaurant was extremely busy. The best part was the entire restaurant experience was the entire restaurant joined in to wish my dad "Happy Birthday ". It was the best birthday experience we could ever ask for and I really appreciated it. The smile on his face was the icing on the cake. The restaurant has a busy parking lot especially on the weekends during breakfast hours. 10/10~ My entire family will be back.

Yelp
We tried EC Diner for the first time using Door Dash. The order was wrong, missing a key ingredient that came as part of the item description. The order also included an item That wasn't supposed to be on the burger, which was a problem given that it was an allergen for the person who ordered. Overall, the attention to getting the order right, combined with the quality, was pretty disappointing. Since we ordered online, we didn't really have an option to get it corrected. We won't be going back.

Yelp
2.5 stars The service is so so here. Today the waitress spilled water and coffee and left me a napkin to wipe it up! Diners are getting up and getting their silverware. Food wise they have a very extensive menu here. Food is cooked to order so it takes awhile. The eggs, toast, potatoes, and sausage special that includes coffee is a lot of food. The coffee is not good here and never has been but it's endless. The link sausage is large and very good. The eggs and toast are okay. The potatoes aren't browned much, like they were in a hurry to prepare them. I left most on the plate. The bathrooms need remodeling.

Yelp
This place has turned cheap as hell. You want tomatoes on that tuna sandwich? $1.00. Onions, too? Another $1.00. You ordered takeout and prefer to have your fries and burger in a container versus carry them in your bare hands? Another 50 cents per container. Honey mustard for your fries? SURE! $1.00 for a measly 1oz cup. We get it--everything is expensive today but your prices are already high and then you sneak in added costs anywhere you can? Major ick factor, ya'll.

Lois W.

Yelp
My husband and I love to go here every time we are in the area . Their food is delicious. I'm working my way through the menu but love the Mediterranean salad. On your way out, don't forget their dessert bar ... Service is great. It can be a little noisy at times but we usually go right before or after rush hour much calmer less people.

Yelp
Food was ok. Service was friendly. Prices were high for the quality. The half of the building we were iin eeejrd overwhelmingly of mildew and mold. Gross.

Yelp
Smelled like sewer gases!!! We should've just left. After we ordered our drinks we would get an occasional wave of stink as servers and bussers were walking by. Thought it might be that one of the servers was having some digestion issues or something. I was going to ask for another table since we were in a busy spot, but my daughter felt bad asking. Then I started to suspect a nearby customer who was getting ready to leave. So we stuck it out. Smell went away for a bit but came back in waves when our food came. As for the food, my daughter's banana brûléed pancakes was excellent. I ordered the Fish and Chips special. The fries were blah. And the fish coating was like what you get on fried chicken - very crispy and kind of tough, not like the light beer batter coating that usually comes on fish and chips style fish. By the time I'd get through the coating the fish was falling apart. Not much flavor either. Didn't think fried food could be screwed up that much, but I was wrong. So 50-50 on the food. But then my daughter's pancakes would've been much more enjoyable without the putrid smell! Finally, when we got up to leave and walked toward the front door, we got hit with waves of the smell - definitely smelled like sewer gases. Don't know if they have a plumbing problem or what but it was disgusting (so much so that I couldn't get out of there fast enough and left my phone on the table - got in my car and realized it - I had to endure walking back in!! Ugggh!). Just looked through some other low star reviews and found a couple of mentions of bad smells from other customers. One even mentioned there must be a plumbing problem. So we are not the only ones to have noticed this.

Yelp
A true diner experience, from the booths and atmosphere, to the service, to the vast selection of amazing food - you have to visit EC Diner! Regardless for what you're in the mood, you'll find it on the menu along with items you didn't consider. Or maybe you just want to go there for desert and try one of their extreme shakes. These are shakes with entire ice cream cookie sandwiches and brownies and other delightful sweetness. But don't get one unless you are sharing OR aren't eating anything else. Service is fast, frequent and friendly. You won't leave hungry or regretting you came.

Margaret D.

Yelp
Wasn't crowded but kitchen was slow and messed up. 2 orders were completely wrong, sandwiches didn't have items on it that it was supposed to, was very dry. didn't have sweet potatoe fries as ordered. Tried to get the waitress attention a few times but couldn't. The French dip looked like it was microwaved so it was tough. The au jus had no flavor. The fries were cold. Waitress had them make 2 more sandwiches to go. Management was told but didn't come over to inquire or offer any apology.

Yelp
EC diner has a nice vibe but we were let down by the food. Their portions are great but they tend to be pretty busy! If you go I'd recommend the pancakes. I stopped by EC diner on a Saturday morning. It was pretty packed inside! We had a party of 6 but still got sat pretty quickly & our food came out quick too. The vibe here was pretty cool. It had a generic but nice vintage diner look. Also - the fire alarm went off for a solid 10 min which really made the experience worse. Some people from our group had to go stand outside because the noise was so loud. The food was a letdown though... I got the eggs and bacon and ended up having to give some bacon to my friends (I never leave bacon uneaten!!). The French toast was bland and too big (it needed some more egg). It was kinda just bread toasted on the griddle. Overall consensus was that the food is a bit bland but the portions are huge. I probably wouldn't go back here again. If i did it'd be for the homey/nostalgic feeling

Roman W.

Yelp
Food was horrendous. Paid $20.00 for "Crabby Fries" which ended up being just a hunk of mayonnaise and cheese with on top of fries, with a couple of crab bits just for the name. I read the description before I ordered too. The Banana cream pie I got after was even worse. It was just a large cup of lukewarm whipped cream with banana slices in it, again, just for the name. The only reason I gave this an extra star was because of how great and funny our waitress was, customer service was pretty good.

Yelp
I have grown up with the EC's older brother, the Double T, so when my sister recommended that we take Mom to the EC I was all in. My elder mother had no problem getting into the restaurant thanks to the accessible ramp and convenient Handicapped parking. The place was as packed and as noisy as the Double T, and the service just as swift and dependable. The menu is not as huge, which make is easier to get through, and the choices are all appealing. My Mom stuck with a solid Egg and Toast Breakfast, which came out quick and she enjoyed. My sister had the Greek Salad which, apparently is her regular, and it looked pretty good. I had the Goat Cheese Brulé and the Crab Egg Rolls, both of which were excellent and made for a filling meal. I would absolutely go there again when I'm in the neighborhood, and so should you!
google avatar

Jannet C.

Yelp
I love coming here for their crab dishes! I've gotten the stuffed scallops and crab cake salad. I really like that you get huge lumps of crab meat and very little filling. Everything is always fresh, and delicious! The wait staff is nice and helpful. That's why I keep coming back!

Yelp
2 1/2 -3 stars Cheeseburger - no season/ bland Salt & pepper didn't help either ( prefer five guys instead) Cotton candy shake- cotton candy cheesecake- didn't taste like cotton candy /cotton candy wasn't fresh Onion rings wasn't hot or homemade The only good thing about this place was the price - the prices for food was affordable Would I return - heck no For 30 something dollars I was better off going to five guys I was disappointed wouldn't recommend

Yelp
The EC Diner is LEGIT. So much good food to choose from. I came here with the family after seeing one of those foodie IG videos, and was surprised to see how good the food looked. Good breakfast in Anne Arundel county is so hard to come by (any suggestions are appreciated). We came out here and found a new favorite. The first thing we noticed was the menu is like 9 pages deep. There are really a ton of great sounding options. We had the Jack Ranch Fries ( which were loaded cheese friend with ranch, and what was described as bacon bits, but came out with cut up pieces of actual bacon) which was fire! I don't know what kind of ranch they use, but it was REALLY good. On top of that they have a whole section for "Loaded Fry Bowls" that all sound amazing. My son and I got burgers. The brunch burger was really good, though I wasn't feeling the huge wedge of tomato I got on it, and he got the 420 burger which had mozzarella sticks and Mac n cheese on it with a secret sauce. Some of the stuff is over the top, but at 20 I would've been in heaven...lol My wife got a pancake breakfast "The Lumberjack" that came with everything but the kitchen sink. I don't think anyone of us could finish our meals in one sitting. Everything tasted great, and there's definitely a lot to come back and check out. This is one of those places that the whole family can agree on, and that's rare for us. So we're excited to have found this place, and to come back again for another round.

Yelp
I used to go to this place when it was double T diner and it definitely lived up to the expectations set by the previous ownership and then some. the shakes really are crazy. they're kind of expensive but when you get the actual shake it's clear where your money went they're huge. this place also has all the diner classics like corned beef hash and creamed chipped beef on toast
google avatar

Yelp
We visited the EC Diner for the first time and was surprised by the experience. Large menu with many homestyle favorites. I was happy to see good fashioned open faced roast beef with mashed potatoes. It was very tasty and the mashed potatoes reminded me of a diner from home. Operations was large and reasonably priced. The service was good and our server was cheerful and busy. Management was very attentive and always trying to be of service. The only issues was long wait to place our order and to get our check but we'll definitely be back.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food & service. Our food was simply delicious and our server was attentive & on the ball. All of the desserts looked amazing! The diner is very clean and recently renovated. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
Just went there for Lobster Night. Had a second grade lobster (soft with small claws). Recommend Timbuktu Restaurant for their Lobster Night, much better. Restaurant not the same since change of ownership. Management doesn't care about the customer. Therefore I will Not Be Going Back.

Shadarra A.

Yelp
The dinner has a lot to pick from on the menu. Since it was brunch I went with the stuff shrimp. It came with soup and 2 sides. I got the chicken noodle soup , cold slaw and fries. It was a lot of food. The soup was very good and hardy. The fries was hot the cold slaw was ok. The stuff shrimp was ok not as good as they use to be. The meat doesn't have jumbo lump like it used to. The sprinkles in the pancakes made them crunchy. Not my favorite. The sausage and egg sandwich was good: the service was ok the waitress checked on us enough. The ambiance was chill and laid back. No loud music. Just good conversation.

Yelp
This place is always fast. The food is good solid diner food with that extensive east coast diner menu. No complaints after yrs of visits, if i had any I'm sure they'd be handled before i got to the doior. Not fancy enough for 5 stars but a solid 4.5 for everything.

Yelp
I have had EC Diner on my list since they opened. Every person I know raves about the food. Now I see what the hype is about. Came on a Thursday night at 10:20. They close at 11pm during the week, midnight on weekends. We were the only diners. Service was great. We didn't feel rushed. My Blueberry Ricotta Pancakes were delicious! Fluffy, full of Blueberries. The Ricotta was a perfect addition as it cut some of the sweetness of the honey drizzle. You definitely do not need syrup! Looking forward to returning to try more items on the extensive menu!

Yelp
My husband and I came here around 5pm on a Friday and it was pretty busy! It was really nice inside and has a huge menu. My husband and I shared the 'Jack Ranch Fries' which were piled with fresh bacon bits and melted jack cheese drizzled with cool ranch dressing. They were very good. Unfortunately, they came out the same time as the entrees so we didn't get to eat much of them but we did take it back to the hotel. For our entrees, my husband got the 'Crabby Burger' which was 1/2 lb Angus patty topped with crab dip and topped with Old Bay French fries. He said it was very oily, messy and he ordered medium and it was definitely well done. Also, there was barely any Old Bay on the fries. He couldn't even taste it. I ordered the 'Muffaletta Sandwich' which had tapenade spread, Genoa salami, mortadella, pepperoni and provolone cheese on ciabatta bread. I got Onion Rings with it instead of French Fries. The sandwich was salty which is to be expected, but overall it was just okay. However, the onion rings were great! We did not get to try the extreme shakes but overall, the experience was just okay. The food was quick, the service was fairly fast and a very friendly staff. Would I come back? No. Would I recommend? If you like diner food, sure.

Yelp
Stopped in for a late lunch the other day with my husband. I was able to snag one of the chicken sautee dishes that was super delicious and still a huge portion. My meal came with a cup of soup. I opted fornthe chicken and pasta. Consistent with every other diner chicken noodle that I love. My husband had the french dip sandwich with seasoned fries. He enjoyed it! The server was friendly and attentive.

Yelp
Two separate people were rude and snippy and my coffee and omelet were lukewarm. The server was great though - not his fault!

Yelp
A place I grew up with, previously called something else (I can't remember the name right now). This place brings back nostalgia for me, as someone who now lives out of state, but.. it feels like home coming back here. The weekend and afternoon crowds are either families or the older people, kind of hanging out, and it seems like it would be hard to get a table, but.. they seem to always have space (I don't know how, but it works). The owners are the kids of the previous owners, and they follow their parents in being some of the nicest people you'll meet, always happy with every customer, and always pushing (I don't mind) to buy desserts. Their desserts, are absolutely amazing! My one issue is the kids took away a few of the least healthy ones, and replaced them with "relatively healthy" baklava cheesecake and some other items (bring back the triple layer chocolate!). I usually go for salad since I'm getting older, but.. the best food is still (in my opinion) either going greek, getting the fettuccine Alfredo, or just ordering typical diner food like a cheeseburger with fries. This place is a home for all those who live in the area, and if you live here and haven't had it, I'm sorry, but... if you do eat here, try to convince them to open some other locations out of state (I'd go in one one)

Yelp
Went last night and left right away because of the foul smell. Smelled like a sewer to me. Friend said mold or gas leak. Wanted to get some shakes, but could take the smell.

Yelp
9.22.22 This dinner has a very extensive menu. May be one of the largest I have ever seen. After seeing two reviews of my fellow yelpers raving about the Stuffed Scallops with lump crabmeat, I wanted to come give it a try. Since I was eating solo today, I decided to eat at the counter. It was about a minute or two after being seated that a server came by to acknowledge me. I couldn't decide what I wanted for my sides so went with corn and the sweet potato fries. It took about 15-20 minutes before my food came out. The fries came out about 3 minutes after the scallops and corn were brought out. IMO, the kitchen was slower compared to other local restaurants. I'm not sure if the kitchen is normally this slow or if it is because of their participation in Md Restaurant Week which is now through the 25th. The scallops and crabmeat were good, but I should have asked for additional tartar sauce on the side. When the scallops separated from the crabmeat it was bland and needed something extra for taste and texture. Overall the scallops were ok to me in terms of taste. I am not sure if I would have rated it as highly as others made it out to be. The crabmeat didn't have fillers and the portion was generous. The corn was flavorless and bland. It tasted like it was canned. I had to add butter and salt. I do not recommend the corn. The sweet potato fries were awesome, sweet and crispy. Loved it! I am sure if I went with items that were most popular I would have it enjoyed my meal more, but not bad for my first visit.

Yelp
Maybe we came at a hectic time (midday Saturday, there was definitely a line for seating) but while this place has a diner feel with the extensive menu and breakfast options- everything lacked seasoning and personality. The breakfast skillet was huge, the potato portions are huge. But you have to ASK for onions to be added (which we found later) and there was zero salt in any of it. What breakfast hash needs to be asked for onions? I had asked for a breakfast sandwich but it was pretty loud and I think the waiter heard bacon instead of canadian bacon and it was one measly slice of cheese that covered half of it. It was toasted and egg was cooked well for good texture, just not what I had wanted. The omelet took a bit longer to arrive and again, fit the bill but wasn't very seasoned or soft. The shining point was the pancake stack- it's easy to do basic pancakes but hard to do really special pancakes and these were excellent! I highly recommend eggs and pancakes to just enjoy and not worry about the rest.

Yelp
We love a good breakfast at EC Diner! They definitely have something for everyone on the menu whether it's breakfast, wraps, burgers, and shakes. I could go on and on... made to order, with a home cooked feel. Very family friendly! My service has always been great with each visit, from being greeted at the door to our table service.
