Had a great one night stay at the Eccles. Got a deal of B&B, dinner and a bottle of wine and it was great value. Yes the lobby is dated but when we arrived 2 fires were lit, comfy armchairs, newspapers, what’s not to love. Our room was lovely, bright, modern, extremely comfy bed, robes&slippers, tea and coffee station. A bottle of water was in the room too. Dinner was gorgeous and had no supplements for steak or monkfish which was fantastic. All the servers were lovely and there was a nice break between courses. Good buzz in the dining room too. Breakfast was equally as good with both breakfasts made to order as well as a buffet so plenty of choice for everyone. I personally liked having access to making my own tea/coffee but I heard a couple of elderly people asking for it and the servers had no issue in bringing it to their table. We used the spa which was divine, 2 hot tubs with bay views,2 plunge pools, a sauna and relaxation room with teas/coffees available, also there are treatments available using beautiful Voya products . Aoife in the spa was a gem along with the other lady (sorry didn’t get her name) and they made us feel very welcome. We had an issue which was dealt with professionally and kindly by the staff which are wonderful. Sharon at reception was wonderful in dealing with this. The staff overall make this hotel and it makes for a very positive stay. The only issue I had (not me really but my husband had to log into 2 work meetings) was the internet was poor in the room, however he managed in the lobby. All in all I would def return to Eccles, a little gem in beautiful Glengarrif.
