"For a quick bite, drop by the unassuming Ecco Espresso and Gelato. Tucked inside an old adobe building near the Santa Fe Plaza, this airyself-servicespace has a sprawl of metal tables (inside and out) and a menu of pastries, deli sandwiches (tuna with dill and cucumber), locally roasted coffee, hand-pulled espresso drinks, and spicy hot chocolate. As for gelato, uncover an assortment of 20flavors including classics like chocolate and vanilla to more unusual, creative scoops like strawberry-habanero, amaretto-peach, and cherry-stracciatella."

Extremely friendly and wonderful service first of all! Just a few blocks away from the main square, this place was clean and the gelato was delicious. I had the cantaloupe flavor and it was amazing.

Looking beyond the nitpicky fact that this is ice cream and not gelato, and that this is not like gelato from Italy, I like this place. They have very nice flavors like chocolate hazelnut, and unusual seasonal ones such as basil. Their coffee is nothing to sneeze at either, my iced latte was quite delicious. Their commitment to interesting flavors and a seasonal ingredients, plus their good coffee and speedy service gets 5 stars from me. I might be biased though since I can walk there from my apartment.

Now here is an ideal place to either hang out or get something to go. The display of Gelatos and Sorbets was clean and well lit. Many flavors to choose from. The server allowed us to taste as many different kinds as we wanted to. We only need to taste the Italian one we could not pronounce. It is a kind of chocolate chip. Fabulous! My friend had two kinds of sorbet. She said the zest in the key lime was quite tart if you prefer that kind of thing.. Myself I had the vanilla and amaretto. Thick and sumptuous. An excellent place to spend a little dessert time.

A few blocks off the main Plaza. Tasty gelato for reasonable prices. We had the large that gives you 4 tastes for something like $6. I loved the pistachio. We also had Oreo, vanilla and chocolate hazelnut. All yummy!

Friend and I stopped by here on the way back from the library. I got the gelato, a mix between Oreo and hazelnut chocolate- she got a custom espresso. I was pretty happy with the gelato, she says the espresso was good! :)

We loved the gelato! We got to taste a few flavors and ended up getting chocolate, stracciatella, amaretto and pistachio. They didn't have Nutella but that's alright.
The container in the picture is the large one and it goes for 6$ tax included.

This is the one place we always have to stop when visiting Santa Fe! They have the tastiest, most refreshing gelato. Pistachio & stracciatella is probably one of their most popular (left). I love the banana and roasted pineapple (right). Get a free sample first, so you're sure to get the best one for you!

I had sorbet as I can't have dairy and it was really good. There were tables inside and out. We had friendly service. I liked the art and photo decorations.
