Amazing little AYCE sushi spot that offers a wide variety of fresh and delicious sushi & teppanyaki options - even on their lunch menu!! The Cube steak with garlic was perhaps my favourite dish on the menu—it was flavourful, marinated well, and grilled to tender perfection. It paired excellently with the fried garlic slices. Every bite of that cube steak was a pleasant surprise. I like it even more than my usual go-to (beef ribs). You have to order the cube steak whenever you visit Echo Sushi. The sushi was also fresh. I liked how they made it into bite-size pieces so you could taste the balance of the fish and other ingredients instead of being full of rice like some other AYCE spots. The dessert (banana and ice cream) was also super refreshing and yummy at the end. While the interior is a bit old, the servers were very friendly and approachable. Price-wise, the lunch AYCE was actually not bad at all—it was 28.99 during the weekday. In this day and age, 28.99 for ACYE/buffet is actually quite cheap. I'll for sure be back often to Echo Sushi, as I really enjoyed my visit here!

I firmly believe that this small place is one of the best sushi I’ve had in my entire life. That or I was really starving but I wasn’t. So keep it up 👍🏼

Tried the AYCE here for dinner on a Friday evening. Our group of five made a reservation. It is a smaller place, so probably best to do a reservation specially depending on when you come in. I believe all the tables were filled that evening. The staff are very welcoming and attentive. There are periods where there are huge gaps in that attention. For instance, when we ordered our desserts, the staff probably took literally 20 minutes to get that ready. Not sure what happened there, but they're great for the most part. The food was decent as well for the most part. The sashimi tasted good - one exception for me was the squid - that tasted pretty off to me, not sure if it's just personal preference but it was very slimy and tasted fishy in an unpleasant way.

Google
Good Japanese food for its price. My favorite is their party tray B, good for 2-3 persons and for both takeout and dine-in. The rice can be cooked better (too damp and sticky) but the fish was consistently fresh and quality. Staff are friendly and food was always served timely.

Google
Really and honestly the best AYCE restaurant you can find in Toronto. Staff are super nice, the service is quick but most importantly the sushi is delicious with huge cuts of salmon and a great cooked menu too. We go here almost every Friday!!

Google
By far, the best AYCE sushi place in town. You won't regret trying this place out. I just wish I found this place earlier. Everything you eat is so fresh! Not one menu was even a tiny bit off!

Google
Came here on a Friday night around 830 pm. Had to wait about 30 minutes. Sushi was fairly fresh but nothing to rave about. The menu wasn't bad but not wildly large. Standard ayce quality. The place is fairly slow when it's full but when ppl leave the service was fast. There's only two guys making sushi. I'd get resos if you're going peak time. It's not a bad place but it's mainly the location. Overall . 4 stars.

Google
The whole experience including ambient, food, service, price, vibes was just awesome! They had fresh sushi, a variety of raw and cooked dishes as you can see in the updated menu I took a photo of. The service is friendly, fast and attentive. The quality of the food is top notch and they have many options of sashimi, sushi, torched sushi, salads, cooked meat.. The desert was just incredibly tasty and has a taste of repeat. I had vanilla ice cream with fried banana.. Will definitely come back as I’m a lover of Japanese culinary and this place welcomed me with so much warmth and took good care of my hunger with a tasty, vast menu. Thank you all and I wish you guys, lots of prosperity. I highly recommend this place as a great all you can eat experience.

Yelp
If you know, you know. Have been happy every single time. And have missed this place. Best eatery in the biz.

Yelp
FOOD: 3/5 I'd say this place is average in terms of quality vs price of seafood. This applies to sushi and rolls. I cannot say that I was surprised by how fresh the fish was or the quantity of fish. It was decent but nothing to write home about. I felt like they were stingy with sushi (nigiri) and could have served more generous slices of salmon and white tuna considering the price but I enjoyed my sushi nonetheless. For some reason, they served my nigiri with tempura bits and I was like "WTF?". I sent the sushi back and asked them to give me sushi without tempura bits. The female waitress was visibly agitated yet she complied with my request. CUSTOMER SERVICE: 3/5 The Indian girls working there are disorganized, aloof, and slow. Maybe it's their age, maybe it's their lack of awareness of what constitutes good customer service, but their customer service skills left me underwhelmed, and yet I still tipped them. BOTTOM LINE: I might come back in the future but with so many other Japanese restaurants in that area, I will think twice in the future before heading back to Echo Sushi.

Yelp
Echo sushi is a long standing Japanese restaurant in this area! I had the chance to try it again after many years and really enjoyed my AYCE dinner!! This restaurant stands apart the rest for its quality and portions. Sashimi very fresh. Loved their tamago looks hand made. Beef ribs, chicken skewer, tempura all tasted great. Torched sushi is not their specialty. Didn't get to try the other rolls this time. Loved their ice cream with kiwi. Service was fast and attentive. Overall wholesome AYCE restaurant that hits the spot in this area.

Yelp
Came here because I saw the great reviews, I'm glad for those who came here and had a great time, but the service here is deplorable. They kept bringing me the wrong food, and it usually isn't a problem but having to wait 10-20 minutes for something small and then have it be the wrong order is very frustrating. Service like this can be expected from cheaper places but if I'm going to pay upwards of 80$ for me and my girlfriend I expect better.

Yelp
My confession is that this is primarily a review of the service as I was not able to eat their food. I made a special trip here to dine solo on a weekday late afternoon/early evening. The restaurant was full because there were a few large parties. It was pretty dingy and didn't look very clean (which I personally was a little concerned with for a sushi place) but I really wanted to try it because of the high reviews. The hostess (waitress?) was very short with me and informed me it would be about 20 minutes. I said ok and gave her my name. And she asked for my name. And I gave her my name. And she asked for my name again. And I gave her my name again. And she asked for my name again. And I finally just suggested I give her my phone number. She was pretty upset about this for reasons I don't really understand, so at this point I figured maybe I shouldn't eat here. There were a lot of other restaurants in the area so I ordered, consumed, and paid for a meal elsewhere. An hour and a quarter later, as I was on my way to the subway, it occurred to me that I hadn't yet heard about my table. To this day, I still haven't heard about my table. Not a great experience. Would not (attempt to) dine here again.

Yelp
5/5! I will never get sick of this place. A friend of mine showed me this place and it has truly become my favourite place to get tasty and high quality sushi in Toronto. I would say this is definitely one of the better places in Toronto to get AYCE - no lie, this place has set a high benchmark in my books for quality AYCE and I always seem to compare other places to here. My AYCE favs from the menu: - brown rice sushi roll (very unique, tasty, and healthy) - garlic beef cubes (amazing... def for the garlic lovers out there) - enoki and beef rolls (!!!) - BC tuna sashimi (so good - all the sashimi here is actually very good and of high quality - does not look like it's been frozen) - tamago sashimi - shrimp skewers - grilled eggplant The service here is absolutely amazing. The waiters are a real friendly bunch and they bring food to your table very fast. I once witnessed the waiters be super polite to a pair of rude gentlemen who entered the restaurant 10-15 minutes before closing and put in a rush order for sushi. I always make sure to tip well in this place as the waiters truly deserve it. Def give this place a try if you want that quality AYCE.

Yelp
Personally I've always liked it here! They're rice to fish ratio is really great and the sushi always tastes fresh. It's quite affordable and I've even heard it has good AYCE! I love it! Service is quick too.

Yelp
We love this little place. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The food is fresh abs delicious. The chefs work hard on the presentations of all the dishes. It's a gem in midtown. Check it out. Also very fair prices.

Yelp
AYCE - service was excellent. They kept changing our plates, clearing finished dishes, and refilling our waters and teas. Everything we ordered was delicious and well prepared. Very legit rolls - good sushi rice, perfect ratios, fresh fish, ripe avocados, etc...the quality I'd expect to see from a good a la carte restaurant. I'd say this is definitely one of the best all you can eat sushi restaurants and would definitely return!

Yelp
My friends/coworkers arrived here around 12 (right when it opened, we were literally waiting for the open sign to light up) and were seated immediately since we were the first ones there. Echo Sushi has not adopted the iPad ordering system so we used paper to record what we wanted. All the rolls and tempura were delicious. The food came out quickly and surprisingly (contradictory to other reviews), there was not a ton of rice with the sushi. One note is that the potato and corn cake will catch you by surprise. Try it and you'll understand what I mean. The desserts are limited, we were the first to order our ice creams but they already ran out of the red bean flavour for the day (which is a staple for all you can eat sushi restaurants)! I do like how they incorporated fried bananas and kiwi which I haven't seen before. Makes your dessert a little more fruity. Almost everything was delicious and it was around $24 per person with tax and tips for their lunch AYCE menu. Note: they only accept cash and credit, no debit. If you have debit, they'll direct you to the nearest bank/ATM and trust that you come back. I say if you don't have a friend to help you out, definitely bring cash/credit!

Yelp
Maybe it was just an off-night, but my night at Echo Sushi was a bit of a mess. We reserved a table, but it was not ready when we arrived at the appointed time. We had to wait around awkwardly and hover as other tables opened up so we could take their seats. When there are elderly parents and young children.... this is never good. When it came to the food, they forgot two of the set meals and I had to ask several times before it was addressed. There was just general confusion. The food itself was okay when it arrived, but the chaos of the service left a bad impression as a whole.

Mohamed N.

Yelp
I was deceived by the high ratings. The food was so poorly packaged and the quality was so poor that it was in edible. I've ordered and consumed sushi enough to know the quality of fish based on its smell, texture, and colour. The fish was so old that it was obvious it had been left out all day or stored improperly. And sooooo badly rolled. I had to throw the entire meal out. Don't order from here I got the: shrimp tempura California roll Spicy salmon Dynamite roll Spicy dragon roll All trash

Yelp
I was a little intimidated by the recent bad reviews as this was my go-to spot for AYCE sushi pre-covid. I went this week, and it was still the same amazing food I remember. Fresh, delicious fish, amazing beef ribs, and some other pretty good hot foods. Of course, their price for lunch went up a little bit: $22.99 for weekdays, and $23.99 or $24.99 for weekends, but the food itself was still good quality, and they don't skimp on the fillings. They even put less rice than most other places. Bottom line, they are still a solid place for AYCE sushi and still probably the best in the neighbourhood.

Hailey W.

Yelp
The sushi is good quality and great portion sizes. What i love is how many options they have!! Only down side is it is a small space and some tables are filled with other food they are prepping. Overall I keep coming back because it's great sushi and super local :)

Yelp
Came here for lunch today because we of Good Friday and were only allowed to consume fish (since all the fish and chips places were packed!). Service was good, food was average (with little highlights and several lowlights) -- and for $19.99 (holiday price), would I return? Probably not.

A B.

Yelp
We have ordered from here several times. I believe the sushi is generally better quality than the cooked dishes. Since we tend to favour both the cooked and the sushi (my husband avoids seafood) I will say 3 stars however I do think it's good value and service. Best of luck to them in these challenging times!

Yelp
By far my favorite place to go for All-you-can-eat sushi. I've been here multiple times. The sashimi is fresh and my favorite is the mackeral and white tuna; it is highly recommended. We ordered the dragon roll and it wasn't that great. But, the hand rolls and tempura are delicious; we had shrimp and oyster tempura, and spring roll. Nice and cozy spot!

Yelp
Started going to Echo Sushi after my go-to spot in midtown had a not so good Health Inspection... and it has become my new go to. The service at Echo is amazing, friendly and quick. It is a completely different feel than the bigger sushi spots where you barely get to talk to your server. All the workers greet you upon entering and everyone says goodbye as well. As I am a regular, they bring me my drink as soon as I sit down which shows how committed they are to customer service. Beyond the service the AYCE menu is reasonably priced and quite a huge selection. They actually just added a few items to the AYCE menu in terms of sashimi. The food here is great, I find myself comparing every other sushi place I go to here. If you end up going I highly recommend: salmon skin rolls and the steak with crispy garlic! Happy Eating
google avatar

Sam L.

Yelp
I had a good experience here. If comparing it is against AYCE sushi places, I'd agree with the general sentiment around that they have pretty good quality. They don't skimp by shoving too much rice in the sushi to make you full and the quality of the sashimi cuts were pretty good for AYCE standards. I personally still feel a la carte is yields better quality and you don't end up eating too much but if you're looking for AYCE sushi, then this place won't disappoint you. The price is worth it. The 5 star isn't because this is the best sushi place in town, but instead because of the value for what you are paying for. Good job and I'll definitely be back.

Yelp
Shrimp tempura- single layer of batter.you can actually taste the juicy shrimp. I usually don't eat shrimp tempura..but this place. Made me eat 4 Salmon sushi- perfect. Not too much rice Worth the extra 2bucks for lunch ayce.

Yelp
Ordered takeout and was not impressed. Sushi did not seem fresh and the fish quality was not great. Would not recommend.

Yelp
Weekday lunch. $15.99 for all-you-can-eat sushi is a bit expensive, but I feel like the premium is well worth it. The sushi and rolls are small, but they pack quite a lot of fish in. The salmon rose was good, as were the salmon sushi. The soft shell crab in the spider roll was mostly crunchy soft shell and had little crab meat. The spicy salmon wasn't very spicy, nor was the spicy salmon dragon roll. Our top pick here is the spicy salmon dragon roll - we liked it enough that we ordered 3 of these rolls. The roll is filled with salmon and avocado, then topped with alternating strips of salmon and eel and drizzled with spicy mayo sauce. What we did note about the sushi was that the presentation was poor and in some rolls, the rice did fall apart (eg. the salmon rose). The salmon sushi was also handled a bit roughly, the meat was not smooth and had small splits when pushed onto the rice. The beef shortribs (eg. kalbi beef) listed under teriyaki was incredibly charred, oily and not worth ordering at all. The enoki beef mushrooms were good. Service was good for all-you-can-eat sushi standards. The staff were happy to tell us what the rolls were, and to bring us extra ordering sheets and take away dishes. However, when we were first seated we were provided a booth in the back left corner that had lots of fruit flies buzzing around overhead. We asked to be seated near the front and were accommodated. No WiFi. Look for free parking on Duplex Ave. parallel to Yonge St.

Yelp
I went to echo sushi during lunch time on Saturday. When we went at around 2, there wasn't a line up. They have increased the Lunch ayce price to $17.99. The food selection was mediocre. Their best dishes were their sushi. The grilled food were ok. Service is at par but we were not looking for amazing service at an all you can eat restaurant. I wouldn't go back again because there are better restaurant with more food options at this price point.
google avatar

Lasagna M.

Yelp
食べほうだい All you can eat sushi. The price is pretty good, about $30/person during peak hours. The quality of the fish is generally great, though one time they served me saba that was... less than fresh. Despite that, I'm really just happy they have saba, since many sushi restaurants I've been to never seem to have it. Last time I went the fish was just exquisite. I would recommend it to anyone who has an appetite. The salmon and BC tuna were especially delicious.

Yelp
Echo Sushi is a great place to go if you want to stuff your face with medium grade sushi. I used to stuff my face with their medium grade sushi all the time. I recently went to stuff my face with their medium grade sushi and it costed me a bit more to do so thanks to inflation - it's OK though, I can't complain about that. Out of all the all you can eat (AYCE) places, this is probably one of the best. For each of their "dragon" rolls, I would price it out at as a $8 equivalent at a non-AYCE location. I would price out their normal rolls at $4 a roll. Assuming that each dragon roll has a 20% lower 'value' to you than the last (declining balance method), you would need to eat 6 dragon rolls to get your money's worth. Now, the question is - can you eat 6 dragon rolls? When you get there, be sure to expect the typical AYCE sushi experience. That is, long wait times, lots of rice (which Echo actually doesn't fully pack on the rice relative to some places), and servers who do not give you what you clearly indicated on your order sheet. Their medium grade sushi would start off as top-medium grade sushi and then come down to lower-medium grade sushi near the end. It was at this location that I was able to crush 12 pieces of Eel Avocado rolls (New York Roll excl. Cream Cheese) in under 9 seconds. I would recommend against getting any hand-rolls (in general and from Echo Sushi) as they are packed with rice and will not allow you to maximize your eating ability for the night.

Yelp
Food: The AYCE menu looked small to me, but it is all to their benefit as the food is fabulous. High quality sashimi, (especially the salmon!) interesting rolls, and saucy cooked food. Service: We had a party of 14, and so ordered in three groups. They forgot 3/4 of our order for over an hour- while the other groups were on their 2nd and 3rd orders, we were still waiting for our first. They kept telling us it was coming, but eventually we made it clear no food had arrived for more than an hour and they delivered it all at once. When I made the reservation, I was also not informed that our group would not be able to sit together. Accessibility: Google may tell you the restaurant is wheelchair accessible. It is NOT. There is a 2.5" "step" by the front door. If you can get past that step, the washrooms are on the same level as the restaurant. There are no automatic doors.

Yelp
AYCE sushi is known in general to have mediocre food and atmosphere. This place actually is very good at both. Echo is a really good place in general, it's pretty much my go-to for a nice AYCE sushi lunch or dinner. The facility is small-ish, and it's not massive like some of the other AYCE sushi restaurants. The sushi itself is fresh and tasty, and you have a wide variety with better quality, especially at dinner. They have this dish called Hot Pot (not like Chinese hot pot), where you have beef or chicken in a hot bowl with rice. My mom likes it, she orders it every time we go there. The location can be easily missed while going along Yonge Street, so make sure you have your GPS for those of you are driving or who are directionally challenged. Just a tip: Look for Lola Road while you're driving, you can even sometimes get parking there! My favourite AYCE sushi spot by far. Never had a bad experience here. Check it out! :D

Yelp
Echo Sushi was so packed on a weekday afternoon that my boyfriend and I waited for a few minutes before we got seated. Sniffing the air, my boyfriend announced that it smelled strangely like sweat, but besides this alarming fact everything else in this restaurant was awesome. We got a checklist of the food we would like to order, and the menu had lots of variety (except they didn't have sashimi). It consisted of maki rolls, nigiri, teriyaki, skewers, tempura and desserts. There were less brown rice options compared to white rice, but to have brown rice at no extra cost was very generous already. You either get EIGHT maki rolls or SIX, and they all taste pretty great. I was not fond of Echo Sushi Roll, however, which was 90% mayonnaise and 10% salmon. If you order calamari or fried banana, the portions are very tiny. They are basically side-dish size. To sum it up, if you order anything that is NOT sushi, the portion will be small. On a weekday, including tax and tip, we each paid $20 for AYCE. Not bad, considering we ate enough to feed a small country. I would come back if I was in the area again!

Yelp
This sushi place is actually so bomb! I'm really picky with sushi places, especially the ones that serve sashimi. But the sashimi here is so fresh and the pieces are a decent size. The other meat items are also really good. They aren't smothered in taiyaki sauce. The salmon teriyaki was also not dry l, which is a surprise from an AYCE place. The price is high but it's worth. Service is also good. Most of the food came out after the first time calling it.

Yelp
Looking at the 4 stars with over 100 reviews, we had a positive outlook of this AYCE restaurant. It is a small store on a busy street that has decent decor and pretty decent washrooms. What let us down was the quality of the food! The service was very good. One of the fastest and our waiter was on top of his game. He always made sure we had water, and took our orders, and all our food came at lightning speed. Coming from Markham, sushi expectations are high and what was unfortunate was that a lot of the items were not up to par. Some notable items for me which are usually ultimate favourites of mine were the Green Dragon and Dynamite which were disappointing. I think it was perhaps there was too much rice and not enough filling. Some other items were just not tasty or weren't good compared to other places. For $24.99 I expected more from this AYCE sushi joint. 3/5. I would maybe come back for lunch if I was in the area, but I will not be visiting for dinner again.

Talmon F.

Yelp
Echo Sushi is currently my top choice for All You Can Eat Sushi! The quality here is really very good, particularly considering that it's AYCE! The place is always busy which you want from an AYCE place because it means that their ingredients are fresh due to high throughput. The service is pretty decent and the food comes fairly quickly. They have a couple of their own unique sushi rolls which are great, such as the riceless sushi roll and their deep fried football roll. I also consider their beef ribs to be the best I've ever had at an AYCE place relatively speaking. Due to their popularity, their prices have been increased in the 2015/2016 time frame but if you really want AYCE Sushi and you want quality, this is the place to go!

Sangeun N.

Yelp
These sashimi were fresh and well-fermented so i shouldn't criticize of it. Their service must be totally wrong. I could understand their limited English skill, but they didn't even escort tables when we stood up in front of door for 15 mins. Since I went there at first, I've seen that the owner always cooked. Last night, I saw that he was serving, but extremely unkind... when we ready to order, after he looked at us, suddenly shook his head negatively as well as he pushed us to pay faster. At that time, it wasn't crowded and we didn't order too many. Before, I felt obviously uncomfortable with the service, last night was the worst day there. To be honest, if this restaurant wasn't "All you can eat" place, nobody wouldn't have needed to go there. The owner must be change his attitude for customers, especially Asian and You don't forget about that you're also Asian. I sometimes saw he smiled western people.

Yelp
After trying AYCE sushi all over town Ive now found my favourite.... started with the miso soup which actually had great flavour and arrived in less that a minute... moved on to shrimp and veggie tempura which had a light crispy batter and was perfect....service throughout the meal was outstanding( although I did choose off hours in this case 430 pm) Moved on to sashimi.... the freshest fish and cut properly in generous portions... Then on to teriyaki which was also wonderful .... as good as any a la carte in town ....Ill be back soon...excellent dipping sauces and generous amounts of ginger and hot wasabi made it perfect...

Yelp
My friends and I came here for lunch on a busy Saturday and were a bit disappointed given the rave reviews on Yelp. The sushi rolls were decent but they were lacking flavour so we asked for spicy mayo (helped a lot!). The beef ribs were extremely overcooked, stiff and dry and I love beef ribs so I asked for another dish of that cooked medium rare and they came back with another dish of beef ribs just as overcooked! The beef teriyaki was also overcooked which was disappointing. To add to that, why is the sushi shaped like a male part?! I thought it was quite humorous and I'm sure they didn't intend for it at all. Good things about Echo Sushi was the service was excellent - servers were very attentive of our table and served water and tea quickly! The teriyaki salmon as delicious but I seem to like anything salmon. The garlic beef dish was amazing - I have never ate a dish like that before! Lastly, the udon was actually quite yummy. To be honest though, I probably won't come here again considering there are better and cheaper sushi places in Toronto.

Yelp
Oh man. After reading all the yelp and Google reviews I was honestly expecting a whole lot more. This place is what I would describe as very, very average. Went for a Saturday lunch and the service was ho hum. The sushi was average. The ambiance was average. The teriyaki and tempura items were actually very good though. All in all , not worth driving in for. If you live on the subway line, might as well. Otherwise save your time and money.

Yelp
I've been to this restaurant a dozen times with no complaints. Unfortunately, I experienced SEVERE food poisoning after my last visit. I SERIOUSLY suspect their pickled ginger as the poisoning source. I contacted the restaurant, but management has not returned my call, and that is completely unacceptable. Proceed with caution.

Vince C.

Yelp
Wooooooooow. Ive been to many AYCE Sushi places in toronto and this one is by far the best one ive ever been to. It's unbelievable how amazing every single item was. My friend and I were on a mission to try every sushi restaurant in Toronto but it'll seriously be hard to find somewhere else better than this place. Definitely worth the price.

Yelp
After trying a few different sushi spots near the Yonge & Eg area, I can say that this is my favourite. The sushi is very fresh and the staff are friendly. My boyfriend and I came here on a Thursday evening and the place was very busy. Luckily we got a seat right away but others had to wait for a table. The menu had everything you could expect from a sushi restaurant and food came quickly. If you're looking for a new sushi joint I would recommend giving this spot a try!

Yelp
New to the area. Read the reviews and went for an AYCE. Out of everything we ate. Snow roll was tasty. Everything else mundane. Not to mention all the hot food came barely warm and fried items like tempura and fried banana was soggy and cold. Quite dissapointed with the food. Especially for the price point Service was pretty decent and didnt have to wait much

Yelp
When it comes to AYCE, you can count me out most of the time because I just feel as if the quality isn't the same + you just end up stuffing yourself to get your money's worth. Being a self-proclaimed food critic, I expect 2 things - good service and GREAT FOOD. Have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised about the decent quality in some of their menu items (P.S IMO, you should never have expectations for AYCE, it is usually a hit/miss. Just expect to be full :) ) For helpful tips/what to order/pricing, please look below - this is going to be a long review, but it will be helpful, so get some popcorn/desert while reading this! Review: 3.8/5 - For AYCE sushi, I believe you will be genuinely happy with the quality if you order the items I strongly recommend below. I'm not saying all their menu items are great, but please temper your expectations with AYCE - it's meant to be fast so they can keep serving you, thus, quality takes a hit! Ordered - please also refer to my pictures! 1) Shrimp Tempura - very thin, a little different from other places because there is less batter on this 2) BBQ Eel - this is like the 2nd best thing my friend and I ordered, **RECOMMEND** 3) Sashimi - if you don't like Makis. get this - White Tuna + Red Tuna **RECOMMEND** - Salmon is medicore 4) Mackarel - OMG, the most flavourful piece of sushi. My friend and I absolutely loved it that we had a lot of these **RECOMMEND** 5) Surf Clam - texture-wise, not as rubbery/chewy likes the ones I have had. If you like less chewy, get this 6) Red Dragon (comes in 6 - Maki) - pretty dry to say the least, was our least favourite - mediocre 7) Fried Oyster - surprise, surprise, they took the oyster out of the shell and actually fried it - try it 8) Mushrooms wrapped in beef - mediocre to me, friend enjoyed it. I thought the beef lacked taste. Teriyaki sauce on it made up for the flavour 9) Chicken Skewers - same as the beef, nothing special. Again, I thought this lacked flavour 10) Seaweed Salad - very generous with their portion. If you like it, don't order to much of it before you start. Trust me, it wouldn't be a wise decision on your part if you ordered big orders of sushi 11) Ice cream/fried banana - they only have 3 types of ice cream: Green Tea, Mango, Coconut - tried Mango/Green tea and they were quite good **RECOMMEND** - fried banana - not a lot of places have this, get this **RECOMMEND** Overall, I was pleased with the sushi experience despite being skeptical at first. Despite coming here for dinner at 8:30pm on a Friday night, the restaurant was at full capacity and we were lucky enough to get a seat. Sushi orders came quite quickly. WARNING - there is no waiting area, so be prepared to stand if you are waiting for a table. Would I come here again? YES, pretty good AYCE, only thing is, I don't like to travel so far to eat unless I'm driving haha We ordered some additional items, but this review is quite long, SORRY, but thanks for reading/hope this helps. Below are some helpful tips for you! HELPFUL HINTS/TIPS - Address: 2036 Yonge Street (TTC: Eglinton station - we ended up walking south on Yonge for about 10 mintues. About a 3 min walk from St. Louis Wings Price: Mon-Thurs dinner $25.99, Fri-Sun/Holiday = $27.99 for dinner - Seating: It is a small restaurant and it seats less than 85 people. Good for big groups between 4-6. Have about 5 booths, 3-4 tables of 2's - Walk-ins: very helpful - they do not have a waiting area so if there are no seats, be prepared to stand! - Methods of Payment: Beware - they DO NOT accept debit. They only accept cash, Visa & Mastercard (NO AMEX) - Wi-fi: Sorry, if you are running out of data on your mobile plan, you are out of luck. NO WI-FI!

Yelp
If there's one thing Echo Sushi wins at, it would be consistency. We were here for dinner a couple years ago and was pleasantly surprised to find that nothing has changed since. We came for a late lunch on a Saturday afternoon and were seated right away. Food service was quick and they didn't miss a single order. Even though the menu doesn't have anything fancy, all the staples are there, and the quality of the food is better than your average ayce sushi restaurant.

Yelp
Other than fresh salmon sashimi and deep fried food (e.g. tempura and dumplings), the rest of the items on the menu were disappointing. Don't get makis. We ordered four makis (Spicy salmon, Avocado and salmon, Monster Roll and Red Dragon Roll) and they were ALL bad. Spicy salmon maki was not spicy; I couldn't tell if there was a sauce in it. It didn't have a lot of tempura; just a lot of rice. Spicy salmon sushi was better tasting than spicy salmon maki. Maybe the rest of the items containing rice were bad, because they used sushi rice that's not the best kind. BBQ eel sushi tasted different from the typical BBQ eel sushi I had in other restaurants. The dipping sauce they gave us with tempura oysters tasted similar to A1 steak sauce. Tempura scallops and tempura oysters were pretty good. Plating was nice. The service was quick and friendly. The server even remembered which ice cream each person ordered and placed each bowl in front of the right person. For an ayce sushi place, isn't that great service? They forgot a couple of items that we had checked off on the ordering sheet, though. This restaurant did have a wide selection of sashimi, sushi, teppanyaki, teriyaki, udon, sushi pizza, salad, desserts and more, even beef sushi and vegetarian makis, but the only soup they offered on their ayce sushi dinner menu was miso soup. $25.99 per person for ayce sushi dinner from Fridays to Sundays. I am not sure if there was parking available; you probably have to park on a street or in a municipal lot.

Yelp
Decent local sushi. Quick service, you can order from the acye menu but I decided to try the lunch specials instead. The Bento box specials are pretty good and you have a good mix of items in the bento box. Unfortunately the chef burnt the heck out of my beef short ribs, probably my fault for not sticking with sushi. So my tip is.... if you go to a sushi restaurant. Eat sushi... I will definitely come back to this restaurant the sushi rolls are good the sushi does not fall apart when you pick them up with chopsticks.

Yelp
Fresh sushi. Fast service. Authentic ambience. Brown rice sushi was not bad, but a bit on the dry side. Only reason it's not getting a 5-star is because their sushi bites are big and some have too much rice.

Yelp
I ordered for delivery on a busy Friday night, so the food took a bit longer than expected to make but it was worth the wait. I ordered the Maki Set B and was successfully able to substitute the salmon roll for an octopus roll since I don't like salmon but wanted to try the dragon roll and the eel roll that was included in the set. The portions were reasonable, Echo Sushi followed instructions nicely and the sushi was quite filling. I'm impressed. Next time if I order from this place I think I would order at a less busier time. I don't mind waiting(Friday nights at takeout places are always busy after all), but I think I would enjoy it more if I were able to get the sushi a bit faster.

Yelp
If you want *good* AYCE sushi, there really isn't anywhere else to go (for under $25). Echo doesn't get everything right, so part of the fun is knowing what they do get fresh - and that is the salmon frickin' sashimi. Honestly, order a ton of that and whatever maki rolls you please (firehouse and jade dragon are 2 of my faves, but they are all ) and you won't be disappointed. I've had the salmon every single time I've gone and my visits have numbered close to a dozen times a year. Echo hasn't missed a beat in that dept. As to what to avoid...I wouldn't waste time or stomach space with the tuna. But seriously, if you want good tuna, you shouldn't be going to an AYCE joint

Yelp
Amazing sushi, quick service! It's our go to sushi spot. We've been over 10 times now and only once was it a little slow because it was insanely busy. They have lots of options and yummy sashimi, rolls aren't stuffed full of filler and the udon is sooo yummy!

Yelp
This place is pretty good as far as all you can eats go in the city. Generally come here for lunch for AYCE or the sashimi lunch special which is also pretty filling. Come during the start of the lunch service to get fresh rice. The rice tends to be drier around 3pm. Otherwise the service is pretty good and the quality of the fish is ok

Yelp
I am giving this spot a 4/5 because my good friend comes here once per week (she lives in the area) and the food and service is consistently good. She and I decided to order take out that evening. We went with salmon, mackerel and butterfish sashimi (an order comes with 3 pieces each) and a few different roles. I liked how you could get brown rice rolls if you wanted. (For a small additional charge). The service was great and it didn't take them too long to put it together. The sashimi was excellent! The rolls were coming apart a little but still yummy. A touch on the pricey side but given the quality I would say it was worth it... Check it out if you are in the yonge and eglinton area and have a sushi craving!
