"With an enviable position right at the edge of the Jamison Valley escarpment at Echo Point, the rooms at Echoes have pretty fantastic set-ups; you can gaze from your bed straight out over the rugged valleys of the Blue Mountains . (Common spaces, like the dining terrace, also have pretty spectacular views.)" - Sophie Davies

Breakfast- Do not expect to receive what you actually order. I placed a breakfast order only to receive the wrong dish. This happens, though when you request for the correct dish and 15 mins later, again receive the wrong dish, that’s a little below ordinary. Not to mention there was a hair on one of the plates of pastries given to us. We were gifted a $15 bottle of bubbles as a token of apology. Room- Black mould on the ceiling above the bed. Balcony door- Cold air coming into room from balcony door jam. Bed- Uncomfortable, two small beds joined together done wrong. There was an imbalance between the two beds that was really irritating. Shower- In such cold climate, a hot shower is a must. Turned the water on, put shampoo in my hair and all of a sudden, the water is shut off. I’m left standing in the shower with shampoo in my hair and no water… management still could not tell me what happened there, only offered my partner another bottle of bubbles for the mishap which was rejected. Conclusion, if you pay $$$ you expect quality, this place clearly is not. I didn’t stay here to be given a $15 bottle for every screw up and there were many. Unfortunately this hotel has gone downhill since the last time I stayed to the point I won’t be returning.

The view from Echo’s was absolutely stunning and easily the highlight of our stay. Unfortunately, the room itself was a letdown, especially considering the premium price. It felt quite dated and underwhelming overall. When we arrived, the room was cold, with noticeable drafts coming through the poorly sealed exterior door. I also expected a king bed at this price point but found a queen instead, which was disappointing. The curtains and blinds didn’t adequately block the morning light, making it difficult to sleep in. For a motel charging this much, I expected a higher standard of comfort and upkeep. The location and view are undeniably beautiful, but the room didn’t live up to expectations.

Never stayed there (but plan to later this year) however, we have eaten there twice and the food was TERRIFIC! The staff are wonderful, kind, and accommodating. The views are amazing, out to the 3 sisters and across the valley below. I can't wait for my next visit!

Highly recommended if you are looking for a date night or a family dinner! ||We went on a Saturday so had the 3 corse menu (compulsory on a Saturday). The portions where very large, including entrees and bread so be aware before you go not to snack! The food was good, but the view is defiantly the main event, so I would recommend visiting at sunset. ||There was a wonderful pianist playing on the grand piano when we arrived which was so special and really enhanced the night creating a memorable experience. The decor was classy but not to fussy. I would suggest you dress to impress. ||We felt it was priced accordingly to the experience of the evening.

Wow! Just wow! The views from our rooms (Wentworth & Govett) were absolutely spectacular. Waking up to breathtaking vistas was a highlight of our stay—even on a “bad” day, being surrounded by clouds made for a dreamy, almost otherworldly experience.||The rooms are spacious, well-appointed, and stocked with plenty of amenities, making for a very comfortable stay. The staff is warm and welcoming, adding to the boutique hotel’s charm.||A bonus: don’t miss out on the facilities across the street at Lilianfels, including the pool and lounge—an extra perk that makes the stay even better.||Highly recommended for a Blue Mountains getaway with unforgettable views!

Beautiful hotel with amazing views! We had cockatoos visit us on the patio every day. Breakfast was lovely in the restaurant upstairs, and the location is perfect for exploring the Blue Mountains. Perfect mountain getaway!

Its a stunning place to stay. We had a room overlooking the valley and it was just beautiful. Not somewhere we could afford to stay very often but a really special experience for a milestone birthday or in our case, anniversary

Disappointing Decline in Standards||I have stayed at this hotel four times before, and it used to be a five-star experience. Unfortunately, it has gone downhill and is now closer to three stars.||What’s Still Good:| • The rooms and views remain fantastic.| • The facilities, like the pool, are excellent.| • The staff were friendly and approachable.||What’s Gone Wrong:| • Pool Atmosphere: The removal of the pool bar has drastically changed the vibe. While you can order via phone, it’s just not the same as having a lively, well-serviced bar by the pool.| • Echoes Restaurant: Service here was well below par. It was slow between courses, staff lacked attentiveness, and basic details like refilling water or clearing plates were overlooked.| • Breakfast: Very average. Some fresh juice instead of carton options would elevate the experience.| • Check-In Process: Previously, you could check in at Echoes itself, which was convenient. Now, you have to check in at Lilianfels across the road. When my room key didn’t work, I had to make the trek back across because there’s no service available at Echoes to help.||Overall, it feels like prices have increased, yet service levels and staffing have been cut. What used to feel like a luxurious escape now feels mediocre and disorganized. Very disappointing, especially given how exceptional the hotel once was. I hope they address these issues because it has so much potential.
