The first thing that catches the eye when walking by this fine establishment is the beautiful setting, the tasteful decor and the big screen. This spacious restaurant has quite obviously been well planned as evidenced by the great indirect lighting and small touches like menus in 4 or 5 different languages (not all crammed into one document, but separate and readable), the LED light used to call the waiter, the placement of the bar.
The menu features Turkish and Dutch classics as well as much more exotic Indonesian style dishes. I found the Bami to be lacking a few Scoville units, but delicious nonetheless. There were a few other things on the menu that caught my eye, so I'll be returning, anyway.
Last but not least, please allow me to write a few words about the people. We were lucky in that we got a charming, helpful and friendly young waiter who even helped us with something totally unrelated to the dinner experience here in addition to being professional, careful and humble. This young man was the second charming person we met here after the owner, a delightful Dutch lady, introduced herself when we arrived. She was equally helpful, by the way.
The place, the vibe, the food, the people... it's difficult to say why we are drawn back to Bistro Floyd. Take your pick !
