Eckerö Hotel & Restaurant

We stood in the hotel for only one night but it felt much longer (in a good way).||Eckero Hotell & Restaurang is a big hotel in the middle of Eckerö island not so far from a ferry harbor and really close to a huge fitness center in the middle of nowhere.||We were one out of only two couples staying there that night and we had an amazing experience with our host Mr. Karlsson. The uniqueness of the location, its food and beautiful nature make this place a must for everyone who's up for a tranquil rest far from any tourist destination. However, the place is known to get crowdy during Swedish weekdays, so your experience may differ from ours.||Strong Wi-Fi connection, good bathrooms, cheap and good sauna, amazing breakfast and nice restaurant - all in a beautiful place without many foreign tourists - is there anything else to wish for?

A review for the restaurant. Did not stay in the hotel. To be honest, I consider it a tourist trap. Some meals might be better but all in my company ordered different fish dishes and all were somewhat disappointing. It was also overpriced for the food you got. Menu was very messy and service ok. There are lots of better places on Åland that I'd rather recommend. This place is in dire need of an upgrade.

I really liked this restaurant. The menu is not big, but all the food I ordered during my week of staying, were really nice. I especially loved their fish dish called "Gøs", a delicious white fish served with a celeriac that just melted in my mouth! I will certainly try out that at home. Also try the asparagus soup and the plank steak with the most tender meat I have had in years. ||||Our room for two were actually quite big. And I loved the big space also in the shower. The staff was always nice, did their job fast and professional even though several of them seemed young and some had this work as a summer job. They spoke several languages. Everyone spoke good english.||||The hotel has a very good location for this part of the island. Short trip from the ferry, short way to museum, kafés and wild animal safari, and several sandy beaches well suited for children.||||They cleaned our room every day.

I have traveled on six of the seven continents and I don't think I have ever met a more gracious owner as I did here. Her name is very difficult to pronounce, but I think it is Cyrpha. Funny, welcoming, forthright, loves everybody, so much fun and so full of life. I felt welcomed the moment I walked into the reception area and really enjoyed my time there. Her husband also is in charge of the kitchen. The hotel is clean, restaurant was good, surroundings were peaceful. Very close to the ferry, about a five minute walk. Breakfast was good and Cyrpha is very proud of the fact that they source their eggs locally from the island. Steak platter was excellent for dinner. I know others who have left reviews have been less than positive but my experience was great. Definitely recommend.

We visited the restaurant and got excellent service and really good food. Our choice was the fish of the day which was fresh salmon from the Aland sea with Hollandaise sauce and new potatoes. Fresh strawberries with tofu icecream and whipped cream as dessert. Everything was really delicious.||This summer the restaurant has started to bake pizzas from their own dough. They looked so good that we are going to try during our stay in Eckero.

Nice place, retro 80 s but everything clean and tidy. Always place to park. Service is good for a small hotel but pls remember to read instructions about your room in advance about time to arrive and quality of different rooms. We stayed in large room and it was good On a sunny day

Old but well maintained. Pricey all and all and nothing that makes it special. |Strange fake Elvis thing going on. Would need a price adjustment and new furniture.|Would have liked a balcony or such in the room.||Nice waiter at the resturant.|

Has everything you need with "decent" price considering breakfast is included in the price and it is above average. Restaurant is pretty good. "Plank stake" is recommended to try.
