"Located in the chic Da-an District, the Hotel Éclat occupies a pleasant middle ground between the city’s massive luxury hotels and the seemingly endless love hotels dotting Taipei’s accommodation spectrum. From the moment one enters the Éclat it's clear that management is enamored with art, as the lobby is adorned (almost bordering on the ostentatious) with works of art ranging from golden Greco-Roman statues to colorful paintings by contemporary artists. Rooms are bright and cheerful. All have hardwood floors, comfortable down-quilt beds, and sleek furnishing with a few antique touches (faux rotary-style desktop phones, for example) placed among the more high-tech luxury items like Nespresso coffeemakers and flat-screen monitors. The Éclat has an intimate feel to it, but those looking for a large range of facilities should look elsewhere. In this respect, the 60-room boutique hotel doesn’t try to compete with the numerous larger hotels in the area. Outside of the breakfast lounge, in-house dining choices are limited to but one restaurant, and there’s no spa, gym, or pool."

Upon entry the great smell filled the room! Friendly service and fluent English and mandarin. The candies at the counter also very good. They do a happy hour from 5-6 where you get a complimentary cocktail! The rooms are super nice and comfiest beds in Taipei! The shower is amazing pressure with lots of options and toilet is a high tech bidet. I forgot some items and they were nice enough to bag up for me for pick up. The buffet is ok, maybe 6/10 but they do offer to cook eggs for you separately and a coffee of your choice which was nice. In walking distance to lots of shops too!

Probably the most uniquely stylish hotel I have stayed in, with a wonderful collection of art in the lobby and bar/breakfast area and overall very stylish design. Room very comfortable. Good location close to train stations and just a couple stops in one direction to major locations like 101/Elephant Mountain and in the other direction a couple of stops to Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall. While you do not step out of the hotel to busy streets and night markets these are very close. I would definitely recommend it and would like to stay there again. My only criticism was breakfast was fine but the croissant and breads were not especially fresh or tasty. Given I was in Taipei it would also have been nice to have fresh black tea rather than a bag of Liptons. But these are minor criticisms. When I rented a car there was parking in the hotel at no extra cost which was a pleasant surprise. I especially want to compliment Jenny at the front desk who was extremely helpful and no question or request was too much for her to respond to. And General manager Julien Chao gave the hotel a personal touch regularly on hand to say hello and greet you and check on your travels. This was a unique, friendly stylish hotel with a boutique hotel feel with 5 class service.

Amazing hotel - far exceeded our already high expectations. The hotel manager, Ms Julien Chao was exceptional in anticipating our needs/desires and there to make sure it happened. Front desk staff (Teresa + others) were knowledgeable and fluent in English. Purple was excellent at the upstairs restaurant and bar. The rooms are very modern and comfortable. If ever I am Taipei again, I would stay at this fantastic and hospitable hotel. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED - 6 STARS

I stayed 7 nights in this hotel while visiting Taipei. The room had a lot of technology but was difficulty to use and a lot of it didn’t work— such as a very difficult to use and nonfunctional light system. I had a very difficult experience with the staff- After checking out I received a call from the hotel falsely claiming I had taken a pen from the room. I had never touched or even seen the pen in my room so there is no way I could have taken the pen and was very offended that they would accuse me of this. I don’t know if this was an honest mistake on the hotels part in inventorying the room or a scam to charge customers but am very averted to this hotel and its staff. I strongly do not recommend this hotel due to these issues with the technology and the accusations from the staff of theft.

This used to be one of the best hotels in Taipei, unfortunately the service has fallen a long way since covid. Switches in the room were not working, I tried ordering room service and the front desk staff just hung up on me, and the details I provided immediately were sold to someone who tried hacking my accounts. I use different throwaway emails when I register for hotels in foreign countries, so I know right away when a property is selling the guests info. This was so disappointing because Eclat seems to be a hotel where the owners spared no expense, and every detail was immaculate and with a total focus on art and beauty. But now it seems like the property was sold to scammers and the staff doesn't really care.

Not 5 stars standard. Room: Room smelled pungent of mould. My spouse developed respiratory symptoms during and after the stay. Service: Front desk kept arguing with me that I didn’t have a reservation multiple times despite showing her my receipt (booked directly with Hilton). After about 15 minutes she “found” my reservation. Breakfast: Food was not fresh. Dim sum was room temperature and hard. Server looked busy but barely anyone around. Hard to get service. Location: Great location, close to a lot of shops and very walkable. This is not Hilton standard. We have loyalty status but will switch chains.

Not recommended if you have other choices. It's not really SLH hotel. We stayed from 12/19 to 12/21, 2024, and here are the issues we encountered: 1.The check-in process was not smooth. 2.The room key didn’t work at first. 3.The bathroom shower room has no door, easily make the bathroom in a messy condition 4.There was no one present at breakfast, and we had to find staff ourselves to place an order. The only good thing is location and very convenient.

Yelp
Overated hotel . Ac not working . Lousy noises at night with door busting. Location is not accesible and not near shops . No one help with luggage , under staffed , Service is average , house keeping won't clean any cups or plates . This is not a 4 star luxury hotel, you can't just add a Dyson dryer and highend sound system and claim you are. There is service level that you need to meet. We checked out early ( prepaid ) , they didn't want to acknowledge us a receipt that we checked out early. Even we didn't ask for refund . Simply not worth the torture .

Yelp
Originally did a review on TripAdvisor's in the first two days of my five night stay. Things become less satisfactory after that and trip advisors is difficult to edit so I ended up deleting that review. Here are my final review after all of my stay there. I booked a premiere room ( bigger room and third tier from the highest level) breakfast. The location was fantastic and the breakfast crew were great. The room itself was ok. The tv broke down after the third time and was not operational for two days. The shower leaked all over the outside area. And I specifically requested a higher floor room to avoid mosquitoes as I am highly allergic and did the request a month out. Yet upon my arrival I was notified of my room on 3rd floor and as they were booked out they didn't have another room to give me. So yes I found mosquitoes on the second time and was bitten a bit. But all this I could have gotten over as it seem everyone was courteous and tried to address the issues I had as best as possible. I also ask for a late check out due to my late flight and they were able to push my checkout from noon to 1pm which I appreciated. Also when asked for directions they were also equally helpful and friendly. What really irked me was the day that I checked out few hours later I received an email from the front desk manager Ruby saying they are missing one of the two robes in the room and if I took it? I called just to confirm no I did not and she asked if I might accidentally have packed it in my luggage? Who accidentally packed a giant used robe in the luggage? I was quite insulted and will not be staying here again in the future.

Yelp
One of the nicest boutique hotel I ever been. Excellent location! The room was beautiful with all the new technollogy gadgets you can imagine. Even the toilet welcome you when you get in to the bathroom!! Don't miss the opportunity to stay here.

Yelp
I'm bummed to downgrade my rating, but during my last visit I was awoken at 4am by the sound of mosquitos buzzing in my ear. By morning, I had over 2 dozen bites on my legs (and I'm allergic!). The staff quickly took care of the problem by bringing in Raid mosquito plug-ins and a tin of salve to ease the itching, but by then the damage had already been done. Would have preferred being moved to a new room instead of sleeping with mosquitos hovering in a different corner of my room!

Yelp
This hotel by far exceeds the 5 star rating, for several reasons: 1. BEAUTIFUL: This is a boutique hotel with beautiful pieces of art everywhere you look. Eclat goes out of it's way to show you they appreciate what their guest see and want to impress them from the beginning. These are not pieces I would personally buy, but I can see the beauty in them, which carried over to the rooms. I thought the overall feel was elegant and fun. 2. AFFORABLE: My deluxe room was 6,200 NTD, per night, which is about $188.00 USD. Very affordable and way cheaper than the Hyatt, I almost booked. Plus, the mini fridge with juice and soft drinks is completely free. There are also free snacks in the room: Cookies, Chips, crackers. 3. LOCATION: For me, this was an excellent location - 15 minute walk to my office - and within walking distance to so many restaurants and shops. Of course it depends on what your plans are (I did not come as a tourist), but everything I needed was within a 2-15 minute walk. There is also a beautiful tree lined walk-way right in front. Also, I did not hear a peep. It was so quiet, which I loved! 4. FUNCTIONAL: The bed, tv, shower, bathroom, closet and desk, all worked excellently for me. First, I must say the shower is the BEST I have ever had. If I ever buy a home in the Bay Area, I will custom make it to replicate this shower. One stream is movable and hand-held, the 2nd stream comes out of the top of the wall in front of you, like a "normal" american shower, and the 3rd stream shoots out of the celing. The pressure is fantastic and coming from California, I did not have to feel guilty about taking a nice long hot shower. There are wooden slats as flooring, and the shower is very large. The toilet seat is heated (very nice) with button controls. So many nice touches too: free his and hers toothbrushes plus other items in case you forgot something...and again - a FREE mini fridge, free snacks, turndown service, with a pineapple pastry on your pillow, fresh daily fruit set up in your room (Kiwi, apple, passionfruit, banana). Bed linens were AWESOME, and VERY comfortable too. I should also add that the room service food was DELICIOUS!! 5. SERVICE (most important in my opinion): Honestly, exceptional service from A-Z. When I first arrived, the staff checked me in quickly and walked me to my room, carrying my luggage, and showed me how to work everything (You need your keycard to get up in the elevator, for example). One gentleman, remembered how tired I said I was (I had just got off a 15 hour plane ride from Germany), once we got to the room and they explained a few things he stopped and he said to me that he preferred I get some rest and they would be available by dialing 9 if I need them to show me anything else. Wow, I really appreciated that attentiveness. I wanted to get a massage the next day and had no idea where to go. There were so many places. The staff provided me with a pamphlet for a place they recommended close by. He even called them to book my appointment. REALLY!? Just wow. On top of that, when it came time to leave, I had to change my flight to leave several hours early as a Typhoon was coming into town. This unfortunately meant I would have to leave by 3AM in the morning to get a cab to the airport. When I came downstairs the front desk gentleman checked me out and said the kitchen had prepared me a take-out lunch (which included a sandwich, fruit, crackers, water), as they knew I probably would not be able to grab a bite to eat anytime soon and would be tired and hungry when I got to the airport. OMG! Come on, really!? Stop it!! :) This was over the top hospitality. I'm not the queen of England, but boy oh boy I sure felt like it!! I was honestly a bit embarrassed by so much consideration and attention, but was ultimately extremely humbled that the Taiwanese people would make me feel so special and important. They knew my name at all times and offered any and all help 100% of the time. Cleaning staff were great too. In all of my travels...hands down an absolutely incredible and unforgettable experience at Eclat Hotel (and Taiwan for that matter). I would recommend them for sure. Awesome job!!!

Yelp
Beautiful boutique hotel in a great location. We found it through Amex travel. Upgraded to premiere room. Room was perfect for a couple and had a full feature heated bidet toilet, Jacuzzi tub and rainfall shower. And a Japanese massage chair which was a fun perk! The staff is friendly, attentive and most spoke English very well if that matters to you (my partner speaks Mandarin). Loved the lobby and bar area with quirky, eclectic artwork everywhere. We were there Dec 24-24th and everything was decked out in Christmas cheer, included the staff in Santa hats. This place has all those little details that show they care and is much more interesting and fun place to stay than a similarly priced big chain hotel. Highly recommend!
