I stayed at this location as part of an excellent writing retreat for female BIPOC writers (Island Scribe Retreats... so so so good!).||My room was well-appointed on the lower level of the property. The temperature adjustments were easy to make. I had an INCREDIBLE massage in front of my room with the breeze blowing, it was magical.||The handmade sauna was great - visited that twice. It really is a gem for that space. It is a wet/dry clay sauna and completely dark inside. Fans of Finnish sauna traditions will enjoy it like I did.||The sea was nearby, although we were unable to swim due to the floating sargasm. i'm not sure if that's a time-of-year thing, but if you want a nearby swimmable beach, inquire before you book.||The drinks were fantastic and the FOOD, THE FOOD! Healthy, balanced local fare made by a wonderful chef and culinary staff.||The lodge does a lot with a little space. There are a few dipping saltwater pools. More like small cold tubs. You can sit inside them to cool off and chat with your people. There are a few swings that are fun -- including a swing bed that I may or may not have napped on! There is a large deck, perfect for yoga, journalling, or just daydreaming about the state of the world.||The lodge can also arrange for local tours of the Bathsheba region and different parts of the island. There are botanical gardens nearby and other sites. Inquire and plan ahead.
