We loved parking our trailer in the spacious tree shaded space allotted us by Mark. We felt like we had arrived to a hidden peaceful paradise. The tree and wildflower lined walking path was so beautiful and quiet, I shared it only with a deer and her fawn. This place was a great respite after crowded National and State Parks. Mark is happy to make you breakfast or dinner and we enjoyed both. We have told everyone we meet about our stay at Eco Park, a wonderful secret place to share.

This was a gem of a find! The property is meticulously designed and maintained. Having a flushing toilet and a warm shower while camping was a dream. The pie is the best I’ve ever had. Mark and his family are the best in class! It was a treat to connect with a local with historical knowledge, experience and appreciation for nature. I’m already planning my next visit!!!

Good breakfast. Great Host. Quiet. Seriously, Mark is a gem of a human and very passionate about providing a great experience for his guests. Access to the mudflows is amazing. Just a beautiful place.

5 Star - Off Grid accommodations. No electricity in the cabins, but solar power lights them. The cabins are weather tight, clean, and my bed was very comfortable. I recommend their food. Mark is a mean cook and baker. The steak was delicious and the pie was to die for. The best part of the Eco Park Resort is Mark and his wife. Truly great people. Hospitality you don't experience in business anymore. Thanks you guys very much for a great stay! Brian Jackson

We had a great family stay here in 3 of the cabins, and Mark the owner was so friendly and accommodating, as well as the other staff. The dinner and breakfast at the cafe were very good and so convenient. It was a short drive to all of the Mount St. Helens lookouts and attractions. I think people need to just keep in mind that this is more like camping, and if you want climate control and more amenities you should look elsewhere. That being said there are heaters in the cabins (although it was warm when we went so didnt need them) and shared facilities with shower and bathroom that are kept in good shape.

Excellent location for base camp when hiking at north side of Mt. St. Helens. Accommodations are rustic. Bathrooms are clean, well-lighted, with excellent hot water. Very tasty "Fruit of the Forest" pie for dessert.

My family spent two nights here while visiting Mt. St. Helens. The cabin was very clean and comfortable, with solar-powered overhead light and propane heat. We had a porch swing and view into the woods. The bathroom was close by, also clean, and lots of hot water. We ate breakfast and dinner there, both very good, and the home-made pie was outstanding. Best of all, Mark had lot to tell us about the history of the mountain and the local politics surrounding restoration. A wonderful visit.

My husband was skeptical at first prior to checking in. Daughter was protesting about not having electricity. However, after settling in our roomy cabin and having warm showers, everyone was appreciative of the quiet, relaxing place to stay in after an all-day hike. There's plenty of rooms between cabins so there's a lot of privacy. Toilets were clean and the water pressure was great. Surprisingly, hardly noticed any bugs. I have never met anyone as hardworking as Mark and James. They run the place so smoothly and they were such warm and accommodating hosts. And they can cook! Don't be discouraged if you're call is not answered or returned immediately. These guys are hard at work tending to their guests. They are great with answering emails though. ||The price is worth it. My husband left with great respect for these guys. Highly recommended!

Yelp
Our family group of 9 spent an amazing few days staying at Eco Park resort. It exceeded our expectations thanks to Mark Smith, the owner, and his helper James. Mark is an excellent cook and it was such a treat to not have do our own cooking that we had most of our meals at the cafe. The cabins are rustic and no electricity but very clean and charming. The shared outside bathroom and showers were close by. The evening campfire and s'mores were nice to look forward to at the end of the day. We all loved the stories told by Mark that added such a personal touch and better understanding of what happened during and after the eruption of Mt St Helens. Our grandsons, 7-11 yrs had many adventures exploring the beautiful grounds and never lacked for something new to discover. Even our teenage granddaughter, once she recovered from finding out there was no cell phone service, started relaxing and enjoying herself. Spent some time visiting the Johnson Ridge Observatory only about 30 min from Eco Park. And along the way found the Forest Learning Center and Clear Water Lake, both worth visiting. We were very lucky to have perfect weather and to get spectacular close up views of Mt St Helens. it is obvious that Mark and his crew work hard at making each guest have an enjoyable stay. They love what they do and it shows. We can't wait to return for a longer stay!

Yelp
We spent two nights camping at Eco Park resort over Labor Day weekend. We had an RV site and it was in a great location. In amongst the trees, private and very pretty. Mark, the owner, was a great host and James, his assistant was so helpful and friendly. Both of them told us so much about the area, both historical and recent. The location is perfect for visiting Mount St Helens. And it is very peaceful and quiet. Even with the resort fully booked, we almost felt as if we were the only ones there. The sites are not one on top of the other as we have found at other campgrounds. The shared bathrooms are very clean and the shower hot with great water pressure. We'll definitely be going back!

Yelp
Our family of 4 spend 4 nights at Eco Park Resort in one of the cabins. We had a lovely time. Mark was very hospitable and was a great host. We had some nutritional restrictions and every night he made us a different dinner meeting those restrictions. We used one of the days to drive up to Mt Rainier and Mark told us not to worry about the time coming back, he would have dinner ready for us! We also enjoyed a great hike around Coldwater Lake and a visit to the Mt Helen's observatory. We also spend a day at the resort. It's very peaceful. Depending on the weather there might be some mosquitoes outside, but we had none inside the cabin during the nights. Mark knows a lot about the history of the mountain and it's surrounding nature. The toilet & shower are shared between 2 cabins. We only had 1 night where we had to share. The water is nice and warm. The cabins are sparse but have all you need when considering them alternatives to a tent. You do have led light in the cabin (solar based). There is a camp fire every night which you can join if you like to get to know your fellow resort

Yelp
Such an AWESOME place. We just got back from tent camping here for 3 nights. This place is beautiful. The owner Mark Smith was very welcoming when we got there and helpful our entire stay. He answered any questions we had and was very nice. James was also great too! They are all about treating you as their guest and meeting your needs! They go above and beyond! We took the hike down to the mudflow which was pretty neat! We also walked over and picked a few blackberries! We didn't make it to the apple orchards or horseback riding though. :( The bathrooms were all very clean and much better than I expected! The stars at night are amazing too. We did eat breakfast there one morning too. It was delicious!! I literally have nothing bad to say about EcoPark! I would love to come back in mid-late fall and stay in a cabin. I will most definitely be recommending this wonderful place to my friends! *Oh and there are no campfires allowed, especially with the burn ban--we brought a portable PROPANE grill with us and they were just fine with that (charcoal grills are not allowed)* :)

Yelp
Eco Park is a beautiful well maintained campground. Owner Mark Smith has taken great care to make this property as eco friendly as he possibly can. Each cabin has Solar LED lighting as does the main clubhouse/cafe. The cabins have comfortable bed with linens as well as towels for the showers. Showers are located outside shared by two cabins. Great water pressure ! There are also dry camping spots for tents and tailors and yurts. There is an onsite cafe for Breakfast and dinner. Mark is a wonderful host and quite a cook. He does a great steak, Wonderful chili, and my grandson will tell you his burgers were the bomb. Staff member Ceasar brought some English flair to the park. He is working for Mark for the summer while here with his university in London, studying the ecology and growth around Mt Saint Helen's. He was super friendly and loved learning our culture as much as we loved learning about his. Eco park sits at right on the Volcanic mud flats. It just a short walk though beautiful fields to get there. There you will see animal tracks such as Bob Cat, Elk, Deer, Coyote. And LOTS of Lava. The parks is only 19 miles from the Johnston Ridge lookout. It is up close and personal to the Mountain. There is no end to the beauty and adventures you will find here.

Yelp
Our family was on a three-week roadtrip and wanted to be close to Mt. Saint Helens, but didn't want to camp or stay in some nameless, tired old motel. Eco Park Resort did the trick. First, don't let the word "resort" fool you - this is a campground that also has a yurts and wooden cabins. No running water, outhouse, etc. But the cabins were very comfortable (we stayed in #3) - clean, quiet, well maintained, heated (propane). It bordered on a nice meadow for the kids to run around. Plus they have a little restaurant with passable food (for the location). And of course the location - in a few minutes you were in the blast zone and so you will definitely beat the crowds.

Yelp
Had a great experience here. We wanted to avoid driving back and forth to Seattle all in one day. There aren't many options to sleep whether camping or moteling when visiting the west side of Mt. St. Helens. We stayed in a cabin: It was clean and the beds were comfortable. The detached shared toilet and shower were clean and we never had to wait ...plus, we had hot showers after a long, sweaty day of hiking. We really loved the porch swing and our bench overlooking the meadow and some mountains. Serivice was friendly, personable and the food was descent, and I'm a foodie and wasn't expecting much. I'd recommend and would stay here again!

Yelp
I stayed her with a friend a few years back and we had a great time. I am planning a camping trip to Mt. St. Helen's this September but unfortunately they will not return my email and their voice mail boxes (I tried a few different numbers) are all full. It's a beautiful place and the trail riding is a blast. my review would be much better if they would just respond. I may have to make alternate plans. :(

Yelp
Hard to get a hold of them. You have to call the Mt St Helens Visitor Center and get an alternate number instead if the one that's listed. I finally got a hold of Mark at 360-749-4050 to make a reservation. Then you get an email and you have to write back with all of the details of your request, then you await a confirmation, then have to respond to the confirmation! But it IS WORTH IT! The ranch is a step into heaven. Lush greenery, horses, warm cabin huts complete with a swing, propane lamps, hot showers and flush toilets (clean!), meadows, a fire pit, dense forests and the haunting call of the elk in the morning. Step out of your cabin at midnight and see the blanket of thousands of stars above you, then cuddle back into bed. Do you want to hear all about the REAL history of the park since the eruption? The owner, Mark Smith and his right hand man Bradley or James Bond (yes) will teach you all about the elk and the park while they feed you in the huge ranch house that used to cater to the bus loads of tourists that used to flock here. Nowadays the place is more of a retreat and educational trip. Bradley will take you to see the Mud Flow, elk, and trees. Bring your kids here. They will soon forget all about their iPads and DS games when the batteries run out and there is no electricity to recharge, and they will see things around them that they never noticed before. Check out the pictures!

Yelp
I tried and thought I had submitted an on-line reservation. They never would confirm nor deny it. I tried to call them fourteen times, leaving multiple messages over a six day period on both their numbers. They never would answer or return any calls. They seem have a fancy website and good advertising, but their behavior seems to indicate they don't want people coming around.

Yelp
We were there at the end of August. The place is just as their website describes. Low key. You can mind your own business and explore on your own, but the staff were helpful when we asked for cool places for the kids to see. It is not fancy, but comfortable. The cabins are sparse, but have water jugs, propane lights ( a bit dim, but easy to turn on), propane powered heater, which makes the cabin warm in no time and which we used in the morning as it did cool down at night. The cabins have picnic tables by the back porch. A lovely view of the meadow and at a distance a fire pit that is lit up at night by the staff. You can bring your smore stuff there. The beds were on the hard side, but we had better sleep than in a tent. If you want soft, bring something from home. There is a table and chairs in the cabin as well and even a shelf with some books! They also provide towels. We were staying Thursday to Saturday and it was emptish, but the sites filled up by Friday night. The tent sites are large. There are several restrooms that several sites share. All have solar lights on a timer, heater, shower stalls, flush toilets and hot water. They were kept very clean We rode horses. One hour. Mark, the owner, took us out and was great. It was one of the most fun things we did. The horses were nice and gentle and the trail interesting.. We never rode before and now want to ride again. Our 8 year old daughter loved it too. The cafe menu is limited, but the chili in a bread bowl and cheeseburgers were good. We also had chocolate cream pie, marionberry pie and mixed fruit pie - all were very good and home made. You have to eat during certain meal windows, makes it easier for the few staff, since they are out doing other things in between, They have a bucket of ash and some pumice stones they find on the land and the kids were told they could take some for free. We liked the extra comfort and ease the place offered and the fact that we can keep to ourselves and explore when we wanted. It is close to the mountain and several visitor centers as well as the town of Toutle. The owner built most of it himself, was in the area during the eruption and has a great love for the place and it shows. He has great stories and knows a lot about the area. The staff were not many and they shared the duties, but we never had to wait much for anything. I recommend it for anyone. Just don't expect down bedding and lattes.
