We traveled to NZ on our honeymoon and we were by far the most excited to stay at Eco Villa. Somehow, it exceeded our lofty expectations! Our breakfast spread was so fresh, delicious and bountiful. The space is so clean. And the culture, promoting environmental sustainability is so refreshing. We wish there were more places like this but are so grateful for our experience. Thank you!

Really beautiful accommodation. Bed was super comfy. I particularly loved having use of a courtesy bike to get around town (Christchurch is amazingly flat). For the romantics or the relaxed, try the outdoor bath! Breakfast was great too with awesome homemade almond milk and homemade coconut yoghurt. Cannot recommend this place enough.

Fantastic guest house. This is how they're meant to be done. Perfect blend of restored heritage home and modern convenience / furnishings. Clean and comfortable, with really pretty much any facility you could ask for. The owners clearly subscribe to an ethos of sustainability and responsibility in their approach to running the business - from taking efforts to recycle and compost produced waste to encouraging re-using of towels. There's a lovely herb garden and an outdoor bath too. Location is convenient and centrally placed only 10-15 minutes walk to most of the city. I know where I will be staying the next time I'm in Christchurch.

What a great place for a weekend getaway. There are so many thoughtful touches that makes it feel luxurious while also being reassured that many efforts were put in to be environmentally friendly. If you come, definitely have the warm and friendly staff show you around so you don’t miss anything. Also don’t plan any events too early so you can linger and savor the breakfast. Definitely recommend this place!

We stayed in a one bed room with bathroom in the hall for a night. It was clean, very quiet, and the staff was friendly. The breakfast looked yummy and was vegan, but we brought our own food since we had travelled through NZ for more than 2 weeks. We really enjoyed our stay, and if we didn't have to fly to Auckland the next day, we would have happily stayed there for longer.

Really appreciated the work these guys have put into the grand old place. Warm cosy so close to the centre of town makes for any easy 5 minute walk. Awesome restoration and reuse of the original timber, fantastic deck looking out over a great brick edged garden full of vegetables and herbs. Big wholesome basically organic breakfast. King size heaven beds. Highly recommended.

Where do I start?! Wonderful little place with a great ethos, right in the centre of Christchurch. The zero waste breakfast was delicious - complete with homemade coconut yogurt, and a spinach and coriander pesto made from vege grown in their garden (so wonderful that guests get to help themselves to the loot). My husband and I stayed in 'The Oak' room and it was a massive en-suite. Couldn't recommend this place more.

Really enjoyed my brief stay at Eco Villa for a solo work trip - the host was wonderful, my room (the Rimu room) was extremely clean, tidy & quiet. Loved the wooden headboard and furniture. Breakfast was a fabulous spread of organic delights from local producers. The concept of having no check in (just an access code) means it is completely private, or otherwise you can use the shared kitchen/dining room or upstairs kitchenette. Really cool idea - Will definitely stay again :)
