The Best Hotels on the Amalfi Coast With Spectacular Views, Private Beaches, and More

"Despite the prestigious name and desirable location near the center of Positano, Hotel Eden Roc is intimate, charming, and warm. It is the project of the Casola family, who take care of guests as if they were friends. Or as they put it, they create an atmosphere that will make you feel like the main actor of your Italian movie. There are 25 rooms and suites in the main building, three “annex suites” out front, plus three apartments and two lavish villas beyond the grounds. This hotel was the true highlight of our Positano trip, and our first time to the Amalfi Coast. The staff and service were truly incredible from the time we arrived. Room was beautiful and clean. The balcony and view was the best part. The hotel is perfectly centered in the town, and walkable to everything we needed. The staff was very helpful in helping us plan day trips to other towns in the Amalfi Coast. Breakfast on the roof was the perfect way to start our mornings, and again the staff working it was fantastic. We were truly so sad to leave this resort, and will be recommending it to all our family and friends

Everything about the Eden Roc Hotel is 5 stars! Great location for shopping, and a short walk down to the beach. Although you'll likely want relax and take in the stunning view from the pool terrace, or your very own room. The staff are OUTSTANDING!! Friendly, attentive, professional, and genuinely want to make your stay memorable in every way. The on-site restaurants use fresh local ingredients and every dish that comes out of their kitchen will be your new favorite. Steaks are juicy and flavorful. Homemade pasta entrees are to die for! Fresh seafood prepared simply and elegantly. Make sure you take the opportunity to have the Best sommelier in Positano, Giorgio, pair the perfect bottle of wine or bubbles. He's a master at his craft and seeks out producers whose wines are incredible!! After dinner make your way to see Salvatore at Eden Sky Bar for an after dinner drink and take in the amazing view of Positano. He mixes up some great cocktails!

Eden Roc is absolutely the best place to stay in Positano. We stayed in the Bella Vista suite which offers some of the most amazing views in the whole city. The entire staff is incredibly welcoming and friendly. One of my favorite moments of our entire trip was meeting Tony and experiencing the most beautiful breakfast buffet in all of Italy. He welcomed me and my family by name as if we were long lost friends that he has not seen in 20 years. He then proceeded to serve us the most incredible personalized breakfast with all the trimmings. My two young boys also loved his energy and the entire team provided us with the epitome of Italian hospitality. We absolutely loved every minute of our stay at Eden Roc. The location of the hotel is ideal for being far enough away the bulk of the people, but close enough to be easily accessible. I also have to recognize Pasquale for his extra help when it came to some special requests for the room. He went above and beyond and really made us feel welcome. If you are looking for the perfect place to stay, I cannot recommend Eden Roc enough.

We spent 4 days at this wonderful hotel. From the time we stepped into the lobby with the warm welcome we knew we had made the right choice. Hotel Eden Roc’s location was perfect. It is on the main road which makes it easy to get to without having to maneuver luggage down the stairs. Our room had a large patio with hot tub and the most amazing view. Our morning breakfast started each day with the always cheerful Tony, who was a total delight. The front desk staff was very accommodating in helping us with directions, suggestions and renting a boat. The Adam & Eve restaurant food was wonderful. Hopefully we will return to Positano one day and will stay at Hotel Eden Roc again.

Our stay at Eden Roc Hotel in Positano was truly incredible. The staff was extremely attentive and pleasant. They knew everything about our stay and had taxis ready for us whenever we needed them. They went above and beyond to make our honeymoon stay remarkable. Pasquale, made sure we had breakfast to eat at 530 AM before our flight home and Tony, who worked at the bar made sure whatever we ordered was to our liking. Everyone at the hotel was incredible and went above and beyond to ensure we had the best experience. We really appreciate the pride and hard work everyone has in their work and will absolutely stay at their hotel in the future. Thank you Eden Roc Hotel staff members.

From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Check-in came with a quick tour of this beautiful boutique hotel, where every room has its own terrace and incredible views of the Amalfi Coast.||The staff were fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made our celebration truly special. Our room was spotless and comfortable. We dined at the Sky Bar, though all three restaurants are among the best in town. The food was excellent and priced accordingly ($$$). Breakfast was included, with a small buffet and à la carte options—Tony made mornings fun with his humor and charm!||Minor negatives: for the room price, Espresso would be nice instead of instant Nescafé , and the many daily “welcome” emails were unnecessary.||Overall, an outstanding stay. Positano itself felt a bit “been-there-seen-it,” but Hotel Eden Roc was the highlight. Thanks to Marcella and the whole team—we’ll definitely be back!

This hotel was absolutely beautiful with amazing views. The restaurant that’s on the 5 th floor had views of the sea and mountains that was mesmorizing. The food was 5 star. The breakfast was a feast and Tony was so nice, and friendly and welcoming. The rooms are beautiful and spacious. We had the most fabulous time at this hotel. Everyone that worked there made us feel like family. I will definitely recommend this hotel to all my friends that come to Italy. Thank you.

The Eden Roc is a beautiful property in the heart of Positano! Everyone is genuinely gracious and willing to help with any need! We checked in late in the evening after a long day traveling from northern Italy, and we were greeted with smiles and an offer of an amazing pizza! The Sky Bar is fabulous and our breakfast and dinner at Adam & Eve was amazing! Our room was wonderful and the terrace with a view of the sea and Positano was stunning! We look forward to a return visit!

Yelp
Our 4 night stay at Eden Roc was amazing! The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful- modern amenities with a classic Mediterranean feel. Our room had a huge terrace with a private hot tub and gorgeous views of the coast. We even got to choose from a variety of pillow types to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The staff is phenomenal- so friendly, welcoming and accommodating. They made us feel like royalty! While the hotel is beautiful, the staff is what really sets this place apart. Breakfast is complimentary and delicious, with a wide variety of both sweet and savory items. Their restaurant, Adamo ed Eva, is fantastic and is definitely worth a visit for lunch or dinner. The pool is a nice size but only has 8 lounge chairs and 3 umbrellas on the pool deck. There's more lounge chairs under the covered deck by the bar area. The main beach and beachfront shops, restaurants, etc. are a short walk away. Without a doubt we will be staying here during our next visit to Positano!

Yelp
Great place for a drink before dinner. Beautiful view of the beach. Bit overpriced but one of the best spicy margaritas I've ever had without needing to add a ton of products/ingredients to it. The other drinks we ordered (not pictured) were delicious as well.

Yelp
Eden Roc hotel was not only stunning with incredible once-in-a-lifetime views but the service was top-notch! Ever sense we walked in Paolo (hope I'm spelling that correctly) was giving us a tour of the hotel, their events (wine tastings, making restaurant reservations (biggest thank you for the Da Adolfo one - see that review), and making sure we were 100% squared away.  Another shout out: Tony in the breakfast room! Tony, Tony, Tony full of energy and smiles! You couldn't have a blue day around that man! He also remembers everything. By the second morning he knew exactly what I liked and when I would come back from the buffet he would have an omelet and fresh squeezed orange juice waiting for me. Most mornings I wasn't even hungry but Tony got me every time!! Couldn't resist. Speaking of can't resist - the breakfast buffet, I'm not a morning or breakfast person and I found myself getting down there before it closed everyday just to have the spread!! Excellent fresh food! Take me back!!! Please!! Cough cough Alex!

Yelp
The hotel is wonderful from the staff to the food and the room views are great. They have a great deck to eat at and take a one of a kind photo. The staff is excellent and was there for what ever we needed. Scheduling tours, finding us food, towels for the beach and tastings. We would love to come back and stay again here. Only complaint is that the walls are paper thin. And you can hear everything while trying to sleep. Would recommend the hotel though. Thank you.

Yelp
If you are looking to stay in Positano, look no further. Eden Roc is EXCELLENT! The rooms are spacious and beautiful, and the view is just unbelievable. It's nicely located where you have incredible views but also can take a short walk to anywhere in Positano (about a 5-10 minute walk down to the beach with lots of cool shops along the way). The staff at Eden Roc should be commended. They were beyond professional, and made us feel like we were the only guests. They attended to all of our needs, answered all of our questions and someone is at the front desk 24/7 for anything that might come up. The hotel is kept meticulously clean and nicely appointed (they even have a couple of converted plugs in the room if you're from the U.S. and forgot your adapter). Highly recommend!

Yelp
Second time a charm!! Hotel Eden Roc in Positano is our favorite place on earth! Welcoming staff in reception and the most amazing service by the entire hotel staff! They made us feel like family!! Situated overlooking the charming town of Positano and the gorgeous Mediterranean. We were fortunate to be able to stay in the owner's apartment again and utilize all the amenities at the beautiful hotel! Their rooftop pool is exquisite! And their Michelin star restaurant did not disappoint us! Incredible authentic Italian dishes with top quality meats, fish and fowl. The desserts will amaze you! Extensive wine list with delicious local wines that would rival our Napa Valley! If you are driving, the hotel can provide parking but getting around may require a seasoned local driver/taxi to get to the top of Positano! Strolling the quaint streets with all the wonderful boutiques for shopping and restaurants at ever turn. Gorgeous views all the way down to the beach where you can enjoy all kinds of water activities. We rented a boat and driver for 3 hours (100€) and had the most wonderful personal tour of the Amalfi coast and even swam in the many enchanting caves! Highly recommend this excursion to fully take in all this beauty! Many boat companies to choose from on the beach. All in all we are in love with Hotel Eden Roc and everything they have to offer from amazing service by all, great restaurant overlooking the sea, beautiful pool, gorgeous rooms, amazing views, and how they just go out of their way to make you feel like royalty! Bellisima! Grazie once again to all! The Neukum's

Yelp
We have to start with Paolo. He was the best everything... host, concierge, friend. And it didn't stop there. Everyone at the Eden Roc treats you like famiy... or better! Really, just put yourself in their hands and you'll have a great time in Positano. BTW, the rooms are spotless, cool, great views and fun. Oh, and breakfast is awesome, if you like cappuccino and fresh squeezed OJ and great service. Did we mention the nice views too? Lets just say, when we return to Positano, we won't shop around. The massages, food (Carlo) and pool were amazing too!! Many thanks, Eden Roc team. We hope to be back soon!

Yelp
Breathtaking hotel in the heart of the Amalfi Coast. Outstanding location and amenities. The staff went above and beyond throughout our stay to ensure our experience was special. We loved the rooftop restaurant. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
We had lunch at this hotel it's not a Michelin restaurant but it might as well be! I had the seafood soup here was the best thing I've had in Positano. Prices are fair for the quality your getting. Wine selection is amazing as well. Staff are welcoming

Yelp
I thought this was the best food in Positano. Skip the tourist trap at the beach. Stay for their wine tasting. The legend is that the owner grew up as a poor boy helping tourists with their luggage. He moved to the U.S. returned after he had a vision of his childhood town. What he built shows that paid exquisite attention to detail. The food is great. We even stayed here in the off season.
google avatar

Ricky N.

Yelp
We made a reservation and due to Covid we were unable to travel. We ask for a refund and they said that they could not do a refund. They would give us one year extension. While as we all know we are still involved in the situation. I am willing to except half a refund and they will not cooperate. Please do not stay at their facility as their policies are very unfriendly for travelers.
google avatar

Kellie L.

Yelp
going to Positano during the "off season" is a risky move. what I've been told it's a lot less busy and less expensive...I wish we were informed about the renovation before booking due to the strong paint smells :/ but, the front desk is ABOVE AND BEYOND accommodating to your needs and moved us to a 'less paint smelly' room. The rooms have Netflix and up-to-date movies. A lot of the restaurants around are closed during this time so DO NOT hesitate to have an amazing wine tasting/pasta dinner a couple floors below. If you find a restaurant open during the early March time ask for reservations and taxi so you can figure out price. AMAZING SERVICE. I hope they welcome me back again soon xK

Yelp
Another memorable experience on the Amalfi Coast, and a pleasant surprise! We were catching the shuttle to La Tagliata from Hotel Eden Roc and had some time to spare, so we figured we'd check out the bar and have a few drinks. The bar in the lobby was pretty basic, but one of the workers tipped us off and said we should go upstairs. Well...some of the best views in Positano. We were treated like absolute royalty. We said we were just there for drinks, but it didn't matter. They rolled out the red carpet for us, gave us the best seat in the house, complimentary bruschetta, the whole deal. The service was impeccable - we didn't want to leave! Thank you, Hotel Eden Roc!

Yelp
The service here is unparalleled. I hesitate to even call it service, because it is pure hospitality. Each and every employee at this lovely hotel is warm and inviting and professional and SO HAPPY about their work here at Eden Roc. My daughter and I just returned from a week at this incredible place. I've never, in my life, stayed anywhere that I felt more welcomed. Pascal, Luigi, Giuseppe, Dominic ... and the list continues - they all went above and beyond to make sure our stay was the best. And, it was! One night, at 3:00 AM, I called the front desk to ask if there was any way to adjust the temp in my room to make it cooler. (The a/c for the building had not yet been turned on.) Pascal suggested I open the balcony doors, which I did. But, 20 minutes later, a knock came at the door and Pascal was there with a mini air conditioner! The next day, we returned to find an oscillating fan. Just amazing. The breakfast each day is delicious and has many options. They also make cool-to-order omelettes, eggs, bacon, etc. Oh, and fantastic coffees - wow! The Sommelier, Luigi, is so friendly and knowledgeable. Guiseppe, the bartender is exceptional as well. We ate at the restaurant 3 times and had fantastic meals, drinks and service each time. And, THE VIEW! The rooftop terrace has a spectacular view. It's amazing from sun-up to sundown. The rooms are spacious and very well-appointed. Bathrooms are huge with jacuzzi tubs and towel warmers. Just perfect! I wish there was an option for 10 stars.

Yelp
Such a great experience there having some afternoon drinks on the terrace. Salvatore was an awesome host and bartender. In addition to making the best Negroni , he made us feel so welcome. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Quite possibly the best experience I've ever had at a hotel. Aside from the amazing location (phenomenal views and a 5 minute walk to the beach), the staff were simply amazing. Everyone went out of their way to ensure we had an amazing time and I've yet to experience anything like it. The restaurant downstairs is top notch, lots of variety and everything we tried was great. I will absolutely be staying here again next time I'm in Italy.

susan m.

Yelp
This is one of the finest experiences I've ever had at a hotel. What made it so lovely was the attentive staff. From the moment we arrived, all of the staff were gracious, kind and friendly. They wanted to be helpful without being intrusive. No request was refused. You were never made to feel like you were imposing. A big shout out to Tony, Carlo from Adamo ed Eva Ristorante, Gioseppe (for his patience) and lastly Serina. The hotel itself is beautiful with gorgeous views of the Mediterranean Sea. Very close proximity to shops and restaurants. The food is wonderful and we dined here twice.
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent hotel. The staff are so friendly and helpful. They take you on a tour when you arrive. Complimentary breakfast is wonderful and Tony takes care of you! The restaurant is also wonderful..great fish offerings and service. The pool is refreshing and rooftop sunning is stunning. You can check out towels for the beach..such as it is, very rocky..worth a try but you have to rent a chair and umbrella and navigate the rocks. For someone that wants Destin like sandy beaches you will not find it here. Take sandals. You can order food and drink to your chair or eat in the local restaurants which are good. They also have a wine tasting each day 5-7 and it is great you can sample 3 Italian offerings and have appetizers to accompany for 18 euros each..wonderful as tastings and food. Try it it is wonderful. I will go back!

Yelp
Phenomenal food accompanying world-class Positano views and professional service. Menu includes large selection of fish, meats, and vegetarian dishes along with full list of allergens. As I am gluten intolerant, the wait staff was able to guide me appropriately and even customized my dessert dish. I highly recommend the Red Snapper.

Yelp
We recently stayed at Hotel Eden Roc in Positano in the middle of July. My wife and I had a fantastic experience and I would absolutely go again. The service was excellent starting with the front desk staff who showed us around the hotel and explained everything we needed to know when we arrived. The service at the restaurants was equally great - especially Tony at breakfast who even opened it up early on our last day to accommodate our 730am pick up. They also arranged our transportation which was seamless. The facilities are very clean and charming - our room was beautiful with an amazing patio and water view as well as jacuzzi - although it was way to hot to even think about it. The food at the upstairs restaurant was awesome - we would get the mista salad daily as well as the caprese salad. They have their own garden so the veggetables are fresh. The spaghetti al vongole is very good as was the fresh catch of the day and the crab pasta. They filet and debone the fish, cook it in olive oil and mint and serve it with potatoes and vegetables - so good. They also have a gym which is very small but does the job. The location of the hotel is a little higher up so if you want to be close to the beach you are better off staying at hotels that are further down - but this wasn't an issue for us. There are plenty of resistants and stores on the next level down including ale Sirenuse. They also have a pool which is small but great for relaxing. Some suggestions - I would hose lower wattage bulbs in the gym - it he's really hot in there and for some reason there is no AC. Additionally the wireless access is very bad...this really needs to be improved in this day and age although to be fair I've noticed poor wireless in a lot of places in Italy. They provide wireless for free but more often than not it doesn't work and if it is working it's slow and you are likely to be kicked off.  The two cons aside his was a great place to stay and I would recommend it to any one vacationing to Positano.

Yelp
Amazing luxury hotel with all the perks, including pillow menu, spectacular views, jacuzzi in the private decks, delicious room service and wide range of foods in breakfast buffet. Short scenic walk to the beach and town. I will be coming back!!!

Yelp
I'd truly be an ungrateful guest if I didn't give a 5 star review for the service rendered by Hotel Eden Roc. The entire team, and especially Pascal, are the best hosts in Europe. My family recently stayed at Villa Eden, which is remarkable in and of itself, and is managed by the hotel. We paid the very worthwhile valet fee to hold our large passenger van at the hotel during the week of our stay. Being that the villa is about 2 km from the hotel, and that our family used up every seat in the van, each time we needed pick up or drop off from the villa, at least two of the staff members would drive a separate vehicle behind us and follow to the villa. Upon unloading our plethora of belongings, they would happily take the van back to the hotel for parking in their garage. I don't have the energy to detail the unbelievable Villa Eden we stayed in. Everything was perfect. From the cleanliness of rooms, general areas, kitchen, and back patio, this is a bucket list type experience you need to have with your family. It exceeded any expectations by a mile, and deserved a review of its own. That being said, this post is to focus on the hotel's service, which was flawlessly rendered throughout our time in Positano and beyond. As our departure morning came, we sadly left our heavenly Villa and made way back to Rome, where we would fly nonstop to LAX the following morning. The only negative of the entire trip came as we returned our rental van back to Avis rentals at Termini station. When we originally picked up the van, nobody walked around the vehicle with us or pointed out any body damage or issues it had. Really the van was fantastic, but did have a red scratch on the left quarter panel about 3 feet long and clearly noticeable. We were given the van in the middle of a bustling street, so neither my mom nor I made a detailed glance around the entire car. Honestly we were more worried about getting run over by a bus or one of the million motos burning around. We should have known better. I noticed the scratch when we picked up our family, but again, was foolish and did not take a picture (ALWAYS take pics when renting cars abroad!) Fast forward to returning the van... of course Avis tried to place blame on us for the scratch on the car. They had two Italian men who spoke NO English who continued to point at the scratch, then point to me (international sign of blame). Staring at a €1000 charge for the damage, and no English comprehension from Avis employees, and now starting to lose my temper, I remembered Pascal at Hotel Eden Roc. At the very first night after arriving in Positano he had me sign a paper noting the existing body damage on the car. He was impressed that we had the gusto to drive such a large van on such daunting Italian roads and said verbatim, "You are my hero. You call me 24/7 with any issues or if you need anything at all." BINGO! Three seconds later I called the manager at Hotel Eden Roc and had Pascal on the line. I asked if he would kindly explain (in Italian of course) that the damage to the van was noted the first night we arrived, was pre-existing, and was NOT something we had done. About ten seconds after handing the phone to the Avis officer, he gave the phone back to me. Pascal said he explained everything, and that if Avis tried to charge us we should call the police pronto. Remarkably, the Avis officer immediately removed the charge after speaking with Pascal, and we were free from unwarranted charges. A million thanks cannot express my appreciation for Hotel Eden Roc and their fantastic staff. You will not be let down by their service!

Yelp
The staff are great and the views are spectacular. Valentino greeted us warmly upon our arrival and he was always friendly and helpful at the front desk. The bartenders were very friendly and efficient. And the volcanic Tony was a great and special treat at breakfast. Our balcony suite was spacious and the towels and linens were nice; a welcome change from other Italian hotels. The pillows could have been better, but they were above average just the same. A good breakfast with scrambled and boiled eggs is included.

Yelp
Lovely hotel with friendly, helpful staff. They helped us arrange for private car service that was actually $50 less expensive than our previous transport service. Wifi is available. The hotel is very conveniently located within walking distance to the ocean and beachfront restaurants. There are small boutique gift shops and a grocery store nearby as well. Our family enjoyed the hotel's restaurant as well. It's hard to find bad pasta in Italy. Great breakfast spread included with the room.

Yelp
This hotel is amazing. The best part is the breakfast! They really take care of you. My husband and I stayed for three days and fell in love with this hotel and the staff. Only thing is it is a bit pricey

Yelp
Eden Roc's roof top bar is a hidden gem, quiet with amazing views and a great wine list. Not sure why anyone is sitting on the sidewalk with cars flying by ..

Yelp
Amazing experience. Only not perfect if you don't want the main road right in front of you. The staff were impeccable. They pressed my sisters wedding dress and she wasn't even staying there-without charge! A great town and great hotel. The restaurant is nice too! Wish I would have had time to do the evening wine tastings!
