My recent stay at Eden Roc was very disappointing and far below expectations for a hotel of this level. There were multiple billing and service issues that made the experience frustrating from start to finish:
• Valet & Spa Fees: Valet assured me I wouldn’t be charged for an additional night. Later, another staff member told me even if I wanted to use the spa, I would be charged a fee for the day—unless I left him a tip, in which case he would “waive it.” This was inappropriate and unprofessional.
• Incorrect Charges: At checkout, I was charged for breakfast even though it was supposed to be included with my stay. On top of that, I was billed for a restaurant I never ate at. Guests should not have to fight to get charges removed that should never have been added in the first place. The manager Neisha tried to blame this on their system, but this only highlighted how unorganized the hotel is.
• Valet Billing Confusion: When I reviewed the bill, the manager Neisha said there was no parking charge on the ledger, so I assumed valet had been waived for the event that happened. However, after leaving, I discovered valet was in fact charged—after checkout. She also said something about the director coming to talk to me and no one came and spoke to me about the incident.
Overall, the hotel felt disorganized, and I left with unnecessary charges on my account and the burden of disputing them. For a property that markets itself as luxury, this was unacceptable. Guests expect transparency, organization, and honesty—not surprise fees, confusion, or being pressured with “tips” to avoid charges. I expected far better.
