From the moment the hosts greet you until the time you leave they make sure you have a wonderful and comfortable stay. |The room was spacious and comfortable. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had good quality towels and toiletries. Our room was beautifully decorated and within keeping with the style of the property. Freshly baked cake was available every day which was a kind and thoughtful touch. Plenty of tea/coffee and bottled water. WiFi was excellent. |Breakfast was better than many of the five star hotels that we’ve stayed in. It’s cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. There is an excellent choice and something to suit all tastes. We were given lots of information about the area and the best places to visit. What I would say is book your evening meals with the local eateries before you travel. We found it impossible to eat within walking distance on the accommodation. I’d have no hesitation in recommending this place. Everything was perfect.

Edgcott House is superb, where nothing is to much trouble, the food is incredible, and they are one step ahead and seem to know what you need before you do. The cakes, breakfasts, meals are superb, and the flavours are exquisite. The bedrooms and quality of everything is 100% I can't wait to come back. This is a must to visit. Thank you Penny and Simon we will be back. 10/10

Lovely Guest House in Exford in the Exmoor national park. I really echo the previos reviews, nice friendly owners, lovely clean rooms, well appointed nice soaps, etc. Breakfast was fabulous, quality ingredients in the cooked breakfast and also a great selection if you want cereals.

Our stay at Edgcott House was outstanding. We stayed in Room 2 which was a lovely light room overlooking the garden. The bed, bed linen and towels were all v good quality and felt luxurious. The bathroom was great too with luxury toiletries and a comfortable bath as well as shower. The rest of the house was wonderful and we enjoyed playing games in the stunning long room which has to be seen. Every detail is perfect! The breakfast was probably the best I've had anywhere. I couldn't fault anything! |Oh, and there is an electric charge point for the car!|Thank you so much for a wonderful stay.

Very cosy bed and breakfast in Exford. The room was small but wel equiped. The breakfast is superb and served in a lovely dining room. The owners are very hospitable. Compliments!| The hotel is a good starting point to visit Exmore. Exford has a lovely pub and restaurant.

This is a wonderful ‘foody’ bed and breakfast/small hotel in the heart of a small Exmoor village, in good distance from glorious walking and with several small pubs close by for lunch or dinner. The owners go out of their way to make you welcome and comfortable, from home made cake on arrival to fresh flowers on all the tables from their gorgeous flower beds. The breakfast is ‘simply the best’ with new choices daily and the most inventive list of options that I have ever seen on a breakfast menu. We were treated to blueberry pancakes one day and eggy brioche with peaches the next, all served exquisitely with a tempting sweet sauce and edible flowers (and gluten free to crown it all)!! The room we had was overlooking the garden, very comfortable and of a good size with both a bath and a shower (so helpful after a walk on the moors). |We highly recommend this top class Bnb. |Andy and Virginia from Littlecroft Bnb in Studland.

We needed a break so at the last minute called Edgcott House and as Penny was so friendly on the telephone and we'd read lots of glowing reviews we decided to book.|Although we had a reasonably pleasant stay and the house and room was to a high standard, in our view, the following could be improved on as they caused us some disappointment. When we arrived, based on our two telephone calls with Penny, we were expecting a warm and friendly welcome, but we felt this wasn't the case. This could, of course have been for a number of reasons, but it did make us wonder if this was because we were two males, but hopefully this wasn't the case. We appreciate that what is friendly and what is purely a business like approach is subjective, but we can only base our comments on our actual experience, the friendliness we experienced on the telephone and to what we read in the reviews people had left.|This may not be a big thing to others but having the log burner on in the lounge was a major plus to us. It was good to see it on when we arrived; we therefore sat in the lounge for the next two hours or so. The fire was hardly burning and interestingly no one came in to tend to the fire whilst we were there. There was no problem in us doing it ourselves but we were not sure whether this was permitted or not. It made us feel awkward.|Finally, having read the good reviews and what the owners say on their website we were really looking forward to breakfast. The gluten free cooked breakfast was a real disappointment. The GF sausage was, in our view, dry, had little flavour and appeared to be over cooked. The mushrooms again had little flavour and in general the breakfast was not as flavorsome or as good as I had expected it to be; again based on reviews etc. We also didn't get any toast until well after we had finished the cooked breakfast, meaning we had no bread or toast with the cooked breakfast which again spoilt things for us. |One of us had gluten free pancakes rather than a cooked breakfast and that was really nice. Also in our room on arrival were two pieces of gluten free cake which was very much appreciated.|We share these things not to be critical but to honestly share our experience which, yes, was overall good, but not what we had been led to expect from the reviews we had read and also the Edgcott House website.|

We stopped off at Edgcott House on a cycling trip and could not recommend it enough. The rooms were clean and spacious and our hosts were helpful in providing space for our bikes and also recommendations for local food and drink. The highlight however was the full English breakfast which was fresh and extremely satisfying. Already planning our next stop over here!
