I've dined at Edge three times recently, so the 4 stars reflect a combination of all those visits (a 5, 4 and 3 star.)
First time was during the pandemic with friends. Outdoor seating, appropriately-spaced, masks. Had the mushroom risotto. It was delicious, the service was great, and everything was perfect. 5 stars.
Enjoyed it so much that I took the husband, who is far more discerning than I when it comes to food. This time was also during the pandemic, pre-vaccine. Too cold to sit outside, so we sat at a high table next to the bar. We were very near to the one of the restaurant's entrances, so it was a bit uncomfortable with people entering/exiting so close to us. Still, we enjoyed our meals and drinks, and being served by the bartender was quick.
Third time, I don't know what the heck happened. The menu was completely different. Server said it changes seasonally, but it was so drastic I couldn't find anything that appealed to me. The drink I loved was gone, too, and when I tried to explain what it was (even give them the name of it), no one seemed to know what I was talking about. I get it, restaurants like to mix things up. But when your new menu is unrecognizable you lose the people that came back solely for the previous menu.
Our server was disappointing as well. New maybe? Been there too long perhaps? Just having a bad day? She was not very attentive, couldn't answer basic questions, took way too long for service, and had an attitude on top of it.
It will be awhile before we try again.
