We selected Edgewater Resort, Wānaka as the venue for our wedding due to its exceptional location and scenic surroundings. The resort offers a beautiful lakeside setting, well maintained grounds, and comfortable apartments, which allowed my family to enjoy the experience of staying on-site and fully appreciating the property. The natural beauty of the resort made it a memorable backdrop for our wedding celebration.
We would like to sincerely commend Manon, the Wedding and Events Manager, for her outstanding support throughout the planning process. She was consistently helpful, professional, and highly communicative. Manon’s attention to detail, responsiveness, and calm approach provided reassurance at every stage and contributed greatly to the overall success of our wedding. Her level of service truly reflected the standard one would expect from a venue of this calibre.
Regrettably, our experience with Krissy, the Reservations Manager, was disappointing. Her communication came across as rude and unprofessional. Krissy was confused regarding our booking dates, and when my sister, attempted to resolve the issue, she was met with dismissive and inappropriate remarks rather than constructive assistance. Krissy stated, “This wedding is confusing,” and further commented, “If I haven’t been emailing you, then who have I been emailing! “Well, I don’t have a room now!
These comments were unhelpful and added unnecessary stress during what should have been a straightforward clarification process.
This interaction was particularly disheartening given the significant financial commitment we had made and our decision to choose Edgewater not only as our wedding venue but also as our accommodation, in preference to alternative options such as Airbnb.
While Edgewater Resort is undeniably a beautiful venue with many strengths, the reservations experience did not meet expectations and detracted from an otherwise special occasion. We hope this feedback is taken constructively to ensure future guests receive a consistently high standard of service across all departments.
