Stayed here for two nights on a get out town trip. The rooms are clean, spacious, and well equipped. There is a pleasant view of the old city across the harbor from the large back deck. We were able to walk to a variety of places to eat on the island and over the bridge into the old city. One of the reasons we chose Edgewater was it's easy parking and location. The staff was friendly and helpful. Hot morning breakfast options and an evening social hour were nice touches to an already great stay. We will be back.

Google
Great two night stay! Can't beat the views or the location. It was nice to be out of the hustle and bustle of the Historic Downtown. The service, the food, the beds all great! In the mornings we took nice long walks in the neighborhood then headed over the bridge for the sights. Found parking at the many pay lots and jumped on the Trolley to get around to the sights. Wonderful weekend. Thanks Edgewater!

Google
The bed was comfortable and the room was pleasant. We definitely came here for the river view! The view was great although the reviews stated a great breakfast but we were a little disappointed. Probably too expensive for what it was but the location was fantastic just across the Lions Bridge.

Google
This spot has been great to us on two occasions. It’s a humble landing, pretty easy to picture that it hasn’t changed much since the 60’s. There is straightforward no nonsense hospitality here with a good breakfast and small happy hour. The harbor front rooms provide a great sense of peace and the location makes most local destinations walkable. Already looking forward to returning sometime soon.

Google
Our stay was excellent. Clean spacious rooms with great breakfast free parking and a small pool. The room has everything you need for your stay. The hotel is located close to the city center, all places of interest are within walking distance. In the evening you can enjoy the view of the city center, the famous bridge with lions, watch yachts and boats sailing. I recommend this great place !

This is the third time we have stayed at Edgewater Inn. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. We love their breakfast quiche. The view from our porch was of downtown St. Augustine and it was beautiful. The Inn is next to the Bridge of Lions which is a 10 minute walk to downtown You are close to downtown without all the noise. We will definitely be staying at Edgewater Inn again.

Google
5th generation Floridian here. Found my place I’ll always stay at when I come to St. Augy. Best location right over the bridge for a brisk walk to downtown. Waterfront rooms to watch the ships roll in sitting on the dock of the bay. Easy access to beaches. But most importantly the service and staff are so great and go above and beyond. The daily happy hour in the lounge with free wine and snacks and the morning breakfast make you feel like you’re staying at a hotel that’s way more expensive than what you pay at this place. Kudos to you Edgewater and especially Sarah with her homemade salsa.

Google
Great location just across the bridge from historic downtown area and close to amphitheater. Rooms have nice patios with water and city views. Rooms are clean, quiet and bed was comfortable.

Yelp
We had the only 'top' floor unit in the complex, also the best view of the bridge & surrounding water. Unfortunately we could not open an windows but the deck chairs afforded us a great view. The happy hour was a disappointment but the host was quite friendly. I wish I could say the same for our breakfast hour. The hostess completely ignored us and brought no breakfast items to our table. We were left to forage on raisin bran, packaged bagels, and stale bread. The whole time we were there the 'hostess' did not speak to us, or acknowledge our presence or smile! Furthermore she kept the room so cold (AC) I had to wear a jacket all the time we were there! Unfortunately, we won't be back~

Yelp
I struggle with a rating for this hotel. My friend and I arrived, and there were multiple guests in the area where you check in. The front desk person was playing host and serving up hors d'oeuvres and drinks. It was a great atmosphere. We were really happy to be there. Everyone was very friendly, we hung out with the other guests for a bit before checking in. We were very disappointed to see our room faced the parking lot. I didn't even know that might be an option. I'm not sure if it's because we asked for two beds instead of one, but we paid what I believe to be full price like anybody else (pricey) and we had a view of the street. Just misleading for the price. We were able to walk on the other side of the hotel, which is shown in the pictures. It is gorgeous. But you do feel like you're impeding on other people's space. There are chairs right outside their rooms, and you can't exactly take their chairs to sit. One morning I was out there, looking at the jellyfish in the water and checking out the view and an employee accusingly asked me if I was a guest. Assuming I was just there taking photos as a tourist I suppose? I was a little more snappy than I should've been. As a guest I should be happy that they're checking to see if I'm a guest or not, but it makes me irritated that I'm stuck on the other side of the hotel, with one or two other rooms facing the street at full price. I didn't feel like I could linger on the scenic side, again, as it is the area where multiple peoples rooms are. I would stay here again, however, I would make sure I had a proper view for the price I paid. It was convenient to be able to walk across the bridge to where most things are. We are also able to walk to the lighthouse, which is on the same side of the bridge as the hotel. The male who worked at the front desk was great. I didn't catch his name. Very personable with all the guests. He really took pride in his job.

Yelp
This could be a hidden gem, however it's a diamond in the rough. Dirty, dingy, and needs updating. The staff were very short and unkind. With that said, they tried to be accommodating in a snide manner. The breakfast was alright but nothing to write home about. If they would simply do deep cleanings once or twice a month they would have a clean hotel. Shutting the pool down at sunset really defies the point of having a pool. The place also needs to have proper maintenance. I tripped on the rotting deck from a large piece of the loose board jutting out. There are a lot of cosmetic issues such as hole in the roof above the deck, stained bed clothes, rusty hardware, doors not being flushed to the frame, lack of caulking in the bathroom, gaps in the molding and just general disrepair. There are no hand rails in the shower and no place to put your soap other than the floor. The shower rod was incorrectly placed in the shower making water get all over the place. I would have given it one star, but the views were spectacular, beds fairly comfortable, great location, and the staff tried to rectify our issues. The biggest problem is the cleanliness. This must be fixed ASAP! A smile from the staff would also improve the overall experience. Last but not least...don stay in the backside rooms. They are not maintained

Yelp
Still a good place to stay. Rick is the front desk guy who I saw last year and it was good to see him again. Sue checked me in and she was a pleasure as well. I recommend paying the extra for a view of the water. Is a bit cold at night around mid February but it would be nice to sit during the day when it's warmer if you see yourself spending some time unwinding during the day

Yelp
We stayed here in mid November. We stayed in the two-bedroom room with a view of the water. Total price was around $190. Small parking lot, only one car per room is allowed. Extra parking on street for free if needed. They had a social hour from 5 to 6 p.m. which offered wine cheese and crackers and other snacks. Breakfast was served in the main dining room with a view of the water and offered many options including a delicious egg type of quiche without the crust. Rick our host was very nice and offered options about the tours in St. Augustine. The beds in the room were very comfortable. The only thing that the room was missing was a microwave but it did have a refrigerator. This hotel is a 15-minute walk to the main downtown area, and gives you a beautiful view as you walk over the bridge of lions. Parking in the main downtown area is $2.50 an hour. And you can get quite congested on the weekends. So we parked our car at the hotel and walked most of the time. It was too cold to use the pool. We looked at the one bedroom suites and they are very small. However our two bedroom was very large enough for three or four people if needed.

Yelp
All in all, a very cute, quaint lodge, waterside. I stayed in the Deluxe Single room w/balcony. It was modernly decorated, very bright and airy, which I loved. What I didn't like about it was, it's a suite. And it is the smallest, I mean tiniest suite I have ever seen in my life. It did not have a microwave which I thought was odd. What I did like was the bed. It was very very comfy! Loved the fluffy pillows. I slept like a baby. The bathroom was very modern and updated. I had my own balcony which I loved. Too bad it was freezing when I visited, therefore I didn't get to utilize it too much. I would recommend Edgewater Inn, just be aware of the fact that the rooms, even suites, are quite small.

Yelp
This is my feel special hotel. It has a lot of unexpected surprises that make you feel like you have had a special stay. The front says dont judge my cover but just trust me. The newest of remodels have made Edgewater a delight. The rooms are clean and the service....delightful. Rick is the man who rocks this joint on the weekends and he goes way out of his way to make your stay exceptional. They offer Happy Hour from 5-6 which consists of finger snacks and wine plus other drinks lol. In the morning a breakfast is served in the dining room which has a main entree which Rick served out individually. Ours was a egg casserole with bacon along side of other options such as baked goods..cerals..fresh fruits and Good coffee. Rick served us on the patio so we could enjoy the best part of the stay..The View..The view has to be experienced..in the am and in the pm. The Edgewater Inn is a quaint place which only offers a handful of rooms but the best is you might just leave with new friends and experiences on your stay so enjoy the magic of the place and your stay will be unforgettable.

Yelp
This is my favorite place to stay at in St. Augustine! The rooms are great, so are the complimentary breakfast and happy hour. But what I love is the view. You look over the Bay and see the Fort, the Churches, the Cross and much of downtown. We park our car then walk across the Lions Bridge and walk to everything!
google avatar

Yelp
Located right on the water just on the other side of the bridge. It is much quieter and peaceful on this side. Staff is very friendly. Property while old is well maintained and has a sand beach. This actually is a great little secret as a simple walk across the bridge gets you into all the fan fair and then to return back to the peaceful ocean side accommodations is a perfect way to get he most out of your stay.

Yelp
The GM at the Bayfront Inn checked on availability here after telling me that they were full. He directed us here and ensured a good rate for us when we arrived. Although it looks aged on the outside, the post-hurricane renovation is spectacular and surprising. More importantly, the service is wonderful. The front desk clerk was friendly, helpful, and even walked us to our room to ensure we were happy. All of this on a night when rooms in St. Augustine were hard to find. In the morning, the breakfast provided, at no charge, was another pleasant surprise. We had a choice of several cooked breakfast items, served to us, with a waterfront view. This place is definitely a gem and we will return.

Jason H.

Yelp
Booked 6 months out, Room was never ready, management repeatly told me 10 more minutes they are cleaning, 1.5 hrs later at 5pm no room, i ask for refund, reported me to booking as a no show. Took no responsibility, did nothing to try to make it right, pick another hotel or you may not have a place to stay in staugustine .

Yelp
Hubby and I loved this place and wished we had more time to stay. Easy to book via email, easy to find and park, easy 2 mins walk into St Augustine old town across the bridge, spotless renovated room with Keurig coffee maker, comfy mattress and quality bedding, plenty of hot water in the tiled shower, a/c kept us cool without too much noise at night, plus 2 chairs on the porch outside facing the river so we could sit with a wine and watch the boats waiting for the bridge to open and admire the white herons flying by. We arrived just in time for happy hour which is in the dining room (and timed for sunset) - you can take your goodies back to your room to watch from your porch or sit inside/outside the dining room on a sofa and chairs too. (The dining room has big windows with a great view of the bridge and river). Good quality wines served and a nice spread of hummus, guacamole, cheese & crackers and mixed nuts all beautifully laid out. There is a fridge with cold water bottles in the dining room too which you can help yourself to during HH or breakfast. Breakfast was delicious! Plenty to choose from, with cereal, yohgurt, variety of breads/bagels, and a homemade cheese and broccoli quiche which was yummy and accompanied by a fruit plate. The ladies at the Inn were very friendly and welcoming and made sure we were enjoying our stay. They gave us extra decaf Keurig cups so I could have a coffee after breakfast on the porch too. There is a small swimming pool surrounded by lounge chairs on the road side of the Inn, it was clean and tidy and a group of middle aged ladies were enjoying it when we arrived just before sunset. I would certainly recommend this Inn/Motel as it is well priced, well placed, well run and very relaxing. I just wish we had stayed longer!

Yelp
Would have given this 4 stars except we were just wakened out of a nice deep sleep by the housekeepers that work here yelling hello to each other! Really?! It's a motel. We can hear you shouting greetings to each other outside of our door! It would have been nice to sleep in a little ..but nope. Otherwise, nice motel with pristine accommodations but fairly thin walls. You can hear your neighbors (why we like RVing) The waterfront view of St Augustine village is nice, especially during the holiday season Night of Lights. Must be very nice in warmer weather. I just edited the review because we did actually have breakfast here. Although it technically ends at 9:30 they didn't seem in a rush to close up anything and they do make and serve you wonderful cheese or broccoli and ham fluffy round omelette s. They are beautifully plated with fresh cut fruit and sausage links. What a surprise and such a nice touch.!

Yelp
Wow what a view. ! We stayed at the sister hotel last night. Marker 8. Moved over here tonight. We are in room 102. 2 doubles. Best view. Nice size room. Will def come back. Doesn't look like much from outside, give it a chance ! You won't regret it.

Yelp
Edgewater is even more beautiful than I expected! Rooms are renovated, clean and spacious. I can't overstate how clean this room feels. I'm one of those people who always brings my own blankets to hotels but we actually left them in the car this time because the sheets really look and smell so clean and fresh. The view of the water is gorgeous and there are nice new chairs and table out there to relax on. Most of all, Sue at the front desk was such a lovely lady. She was helpful, genuinely sweet and so friendly. Every business should have a Sue.

Robert W.

Yelp
This is the best place to stay in St Augustine, we were here last year and Sue was awesome, helping us in many ways. Just checked in and Sue remembered us from last year. The river view can't get any better. We'll definitely be coming back and staying here every year

Yelp
We enjoyed our stay at this charming little hotel! Location is perfect for exploring the downtown area, and also super close to the beach. Great view right outside of our door.We stayed 3 nights .. very clean, comfortable and relaxing! The office staff were all very nice, we especially enjoyed the help of Virginia.. such a sweet lady!

Yelp
This is a beautiful quaint hotel with beautiful waterfront views of St Augustine (like cabana style) This place has exceptional value considering what they offer. It included a social hour with snacks and a hot breakfast. The rooms are beautiful with softest beds and spotless of flaws. The most impressive part was there exceptional service from there staff, especially Charles. This little resort exceeded all my expectations by far and we surely will be a forever customer.. Yelp
We visited for the Christmas weekend and we couldn't have been happier! The view over the tiny private beach included the entire display of Christmas lights and the sail boats dotting the river. Sue and the staff were friendly and accommodating. The beds were comfortable, the towels were soft, the room was pristine. My only complaint was the bleed of light into the room at night through the blinds made falling asleep a bit difficult. Overall, a delightful find and we definitely plan to visit and stay at the Edgewater Inn again soon!

Yelp
Beautiful motel. We booked a bay view room and it was perfect. About 20 feet from the water we sat out on the deck and enjoyed the view of the old city from our room. Barely five minutes walk and you'll be in the heart of the town. The hotel has a decent breakfast and the staff, especially Sue is marvellous. Will definitely stay here again and would highly recommend.
google avatar

Richard T.

Yelp
Sue at the front desk was amazing. She guided us in from our long trip and offered to leave our room key under the mat if we did not arrive before closing time. The room was spotless and updated and the view of the bay was gorgeous. Great for some selfies. Would stay here again.

Yelp
My daughter and I stayed at the Edgewater Inn on our visit to St Augustine and we loved the place. It's a small Inn ,serving breakfast and a happy hour each day. After a day out sightseeing it was so nice to sit in rocking chairs and watch the sun go down over the water. A very relaxed Inn, with a nice staff. So if you like a relaxing place to stay, try The Edgewater Inn, you'll love it

Yelp
Review for different date: 10/05/2016 We had to evacuate for Matthew before our second night but we really liked it here. The staff is great. This is the best location for a town that lends itself to walking. You are AT the end of the Bridge of Lions between fine dining and great sight seeing. Sadly the building is on a seawall about 6' above the water and sorely hurt by flooding and winds. I look forward to going back as soon as I can.

Yelp
Nice view, a little pricey but location, location, location. The air conditioning unit was a little loud for my husband and the closet light wouldn't stay on.The view from the back patio was nice and I was enjoying a morning tea until someone decided to light up a cigarette and ruin it for me. I was excited for a free breakfast but since I am gluten free that didn't happen so I drank a glass of tea. I passed on the sausage potato egg scramble. The view when the sun goes down was breathtaking!
google avatar

Amber S.

Yelp
I used to come here as a kid with my parents, so chose to stay here for a wedding for a little walk down memory lane! It was great, the view is as pretty as I remember and the customer service was amazing!

Yelp
My husband and I made a last minute decision to spend the night in St. Aug yesterday. When we called, not only was a room available but the staff was pleasantly accommodating. When we checked in the staff walked us to our room def a first as far as hotel stays go. The room was modern and spotless, made me feel right at home. And the breakfast was A M A Z I N G L Y satisfying. I definitely recommend this place to everyone.
google avatar

Yelp
It was our first time to Saint Augustine. The Staff was amazing, they served us a hot breakfast and evening wine and some snacks. They were very accommodating. They treated you like you belong there. When I first got there I saw the building that needed some fixing up and was disappointed but from what it looks like they are updating the outside. I then noticed how the rooms and office were absolutely beautiful. So it was just the outside. Everything ended up being perfect with our vacation. I highly recommend this place. I just want to thank the staff you were all amazing. Thank you for your kindness and hospitality.

Yelp
This is an adorable Inn with a great view. The staff is friendly and helpful, they were the perfect host during the 5 o'clock happy hour. Although it may not be five star I have nothing bad to say about this FL Inn.

Yelp
Great inn! I had a river view room. The room was very nice, up to date, clean, comfortable with a beautiful view of the town. Also the location of the inn was very convenient.

Yelp
Such a nice surprise! The room was so nice and big! The social hour was so perfect. Sue gave us amazing recommendations-took them all-so nice. Breakfast was fantastic! All made for a great trip!! Highly recommend!

Yelp
I love this motel!! I will stay here again when in the area! Nice river views beside the Bridge of Lions. Very clean and updated rooms, no thanks to hurricane Matthew. Comfortable bed, shower was huge! When they tell you as you check in that they have breakfast, your first thought might be,"continental", but they will make you a frittata with sausage, there is cereal, yogurt, toast, bagels, fruit, coffee, tea, and juice. Omg!!! I wish we were staying more than one night. Totally 5 stars, holiday weekend, paid top dollar but worth every penny!!

Yelp
I think Robert's review summed up this place perfectly. Is this a five star hotel that should be visited by royalty and movie stars? No. Are you looking for a budget hotel room that's clean, comfortable, and has great location and views? Look no further than Edgewater Inn. The wife and I were planning on spending New Year's Eve in downtown St. Augustine with some friends, yet all the hotels downtown required a minimum 2 night stay. Edgewater is directly over the bridge of lions, which makes it perfect walking distance. The lady at the front desk was incredibly pleasant, and check in was easy. The rooms weren't anything fancy- but the room and sheets were clean, well-stocked, and the A/C and heater worked like a charm. Unfortunately, no refrigerator in the room, but they did have a nice TV and a hair dryer. Good thing I packed my cooler with some beer and utilized their ice machine- instant party! The bayfront rooms have amazing views- especially during Nights of Lights. You can literally see the entire downtown St. Augustine bayfront, and it's gorgeous. Each room comes with a little patio area with chairs- perfect for enjoying a cold beer and just enjoying life. We didn't get a bayfront room, but made our way around to the back, where we talked with some folks and just hung out for a bit. Swimming pool looked nice, although I wasn't going in on New Year's Eve. There's not too many other amenities to the place, but it's well worth staying here. Great location, great price, friendly staff, and clean rooms. This is as good as it gets if you're looking for a budget hotel room. Definitely recommended.

Yelp
I don't know what the other Yelpers rooms looked like but ours was a dump. We did have a room called "pool side" which meant it didn't have a view of the water but it didn't view the pool either, just street on one side and parking lot on the other. It was about $130 to stay there for two adults and the room hadn't been updated in ages. There was a painted piece of plywood over a hole in the bathroom and it just felt damp and dingy in there. I would expect a room of that quality to be some cut rate place. I imagine that the only reason they can charge that much is because they are in a central location in a highly touristy area. They must figure that the tourists will come no matter what so why spend money on making the rooms nice.

Haley C.

Yelp
The room was so nice and beautiful and Sara was amazing when we got there. However the woman that was working in the morning was so rude and made me very uncomfortable. I thought that maybe she was having a bad day. I went back for breakfast the next morning and again was very unpleasant. Luckily the sweet Sara made up for it

Linnette S.

Yelp
Recommended to us by the winery. So glad we tried it! Staff was very pleasant. Yummy breakfast which included egg bake, sausage links, and croissant. Social hour from 5 to 6. Room was very clean and beds were comfy. Could relax by the bay and watch the boats and Dolphins!

Cathy C.

Yelp
My husband I stayed here for the weekend of our Anniversary. They are currently going through renovations and our room was recently updated. My husband also bought the anniversary package which included chocolates, dinner and a carriage ride. Anything that we needed was taken care of promptly. They even provided champagne glasses when we realized we had forgotten ours. The views are incredible. Just walk out your back door and you are on the water. I've been here two different times. The first time we saw dolphins and the second time a manatee swam up close during high tide. My husband and I will definitely stay here every time that we come to St. Augustine. It was a wonderful weekend.

Arthur M.

Yelp
Great location, great view of historic St. Augustine across the water. We stayed in Room 104, definitely refurbished and modern. Comfortable. No restaurant but we found a great breakfast place down A1A near Alligator Farm. Both places much less crowded and less expensive compared to the historic area.

Katherine S.

Yelp
This place if incredible! The view is almost surreal. Forget eco tours, you can see the dolphins and herons from your rocking chair. The staff is very attentive and the manager Gwen goes the extra mile to make sure you have everything you want and need. St Augustin is a 5 minute walk away across the bridge of lions. All of the rooms have been renovated and are perfectly lovely. Don't miss this gem!

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
My fiancé and I stayed here for the weekend and everything was absolutely fabulous. We're looking forward to coming back

Gwen S.

Yelp
While the other reviews are pleasant enough, I have two issues that bothered me. The phamplet clearly states in the WE FEATURE part: Continental Breakfast. I don't call a packaged muffin and a cup of coffee that could be made in your room a Continental Breakfast. It also states: A copy of USA Today (complimentary). When we asked the clerk for this, she had no idea what we were asking for and seemed annoyed that we did. I did not find the staff on duty when we arrived very welcoming at all. Maybe she had a bad day. However, the lady who cleaned our room was most pleasant and helpful. I do agree it is a good location and we did enjoy walking to the historical part of St. Augustine each day over the bridge. I just think if you advertise something, you need to fulfill whatever you advertise as stated.
