Edgewater Pier

It's a great place to take scenic pics. I thought it was cool to see the beach part of Edgewater from that perspective. I was able to get a few good pics on this beautiful day. Very cool that they have stairs and a ramp so more people can enjoy it.

Cleveland has a lot to offer. This park and green space is massive and beautiful. The place to be for outdoor sports, walking or running on the trails, beach time, and more!

If you can get beyond all the PoT Smoking 🍯🚬 in the surrounding areas, it's really a nice place. Great views of the sunsets, sailboats, fishing, and walking trails.

This is a popular fishing spot that also has scenic views of Lake Erie and Edgewater Park.

The view is beautiful no doubt but be careful of the boardwalk during the winter; it gets slippery.

Just a great place to fish, relax and watch the water, or bring a picnic to spend time with friends or family.

In town for only a few days from Texas and wanted to stick my toe in Lake Erie (just to say that I did). While we didn't make it to the beach, everything else was fabulous. Parking here is ample. Scenery is phenomenal. Thank you, Ohio!

Close to downtown Cleveland, this area offers a beach, lakeside trees and picnic areas, and links to paved trails. While it was crowded, I was a bit surprised that there was actually enough parking to accommodate the summer crowds, and enough bathroom facilities and such as well. And it didn't cost anything. The area isn't huge, and it adjoins other areas that are private or industrial, but it seemed a good resource for an urban area.

For those new to cleveland, this is a great, nearby option for beach-going/trails/biking/jogging/some climbing of rocks. For more open trails and to start from one end of the entire edgewater area, I recommend parking here. This place has really changed since I was a kid. It was neat to take my kids back to walk around for a little bit. The paved path is really nice and there are fitness stations along the way. There are a bunch of picnic tables too. Lots of green space. At least two big parking lots I saw. The beached looked nice since they redid it, but we didn't go down there. I've heard that so concerts now and have a concession stand. The pier was small, but nice. It gave you some really nice views of the lake and surrounding shoreline.

Edgewater is nice, but there are other beaches I would recommend over this one. I have been here many times. It definitely has improved over the years. It's usually very busy. They have a nice pavilion and Whiskey Island is right next store. The beach is large for the area and there are multiple picnic areas.

UPDATED REVIEW (2024): Click on the business page to read my previous review from 2018. I still love Edgewater Park because it's big which makes it easy to get your run or walk done for the day. The upper section has benches to sit on and offers a beautiful view of Lake Erie and downtown Cleveland. It also has the Cleveland Script signage which many tourists enjoy taking pictures next to it or of it. The lower section of the park has the circular jogging/walking path surrounded by a big grassy area. This section also includes the beach where lots of people play volleyball or lay on the sand. The beach area gets VERY packed in the summer for obvious reasons especially since the kiosk that sells food and drinks tends to be open then. The view of Lake Erie and all the people when driving up on the Cleveland Memorial Shoreway is wonderful. The shoreway as locals call it, is a freeway part of State Route 2 and State Route 20. I'll always be back to Edgewater Park for walks and to sit and look at the Lake.

While in the area we wanted to visit the lake and check it out, so we came here. This is a nice park with a decent pier to walk out on. Great views of Lake Erie and the lighthouse nearby. The park is large with many different areas and plenty of places for picnicking. The various park areas are connected via walking trails and roads, as well as offering plenty of parking. Looks like a great place for a picnic during nice weather!

Edgewater Park has a lot of potential--it's a beautiful spot right on Lake Erie with stunning sunset views, walking trails, beach access, and space for picnics and gatherings. On a nice day, it's one of the best places in Cleveland to enjoy the outdoors. However, the safety concerns can't be ignored. In recent years, there have been several incidents involving car thefts and even shootings, particularly among teenagers. It's unfortunate because the park really is a gem, but the current environment can make it feel unsafe at times. I hope to see increased security and preventative measures taken so families and visitors can feel more comfortable and safe. This park could easily be 5 stars with the right attention to safety.

We stopped into this park for a photo op with the Cleveland Script Sign and were surprised of the size and beauty. There is a lot of parking, several paved trails for running or biking, a great view of the city, tall beautiful trees everywhere with plenty of shade, grilling areas, picnic tables abound, a huge playground, tons of space to thow around a football or Frisbee, it's pet friendly, and there is a dog beach which is awesome minus the raw sewage release area that can open at any moment. What's up with that crap??!! All-in-all, this park is great and seems to be where all the locals goes because it was packed and parking is free. Do you get it yet City of Cleveland?? Free parking = more people. The City is dead partly because of the $10 parking everywhere and partly because people don't feel safe walking the streets around here. Y'all got to straighten this out. I'll get off my soap box now. If you are visiting form out of town I highly recommend you check this park out, and bring a nice lunch because picnicing is perfect out here.

Plenty of parking and places to put a chair up. You can swim, cook out, fly a kite, or go for a walk. Restrooms are available.

This park is huge. I've been here a few times. This particular area was at the lookout. I've been to the other side as well by the Cleveland sign. There is plenty of picnic benches when the weather is beautiful. I've been to the beach side and it's so nice. Today is the first time I noticed they have a huge play area for families and the kids.

My partner and I were visiting Cleveland for the first time while he was on a work trip. We love to go for evening walks, especially while the weather is nice still. Since we were in Cleveland, we wanted to try to get by the water and we saw that this park was very popular. We went around 630 so it's getting close to sunset and we did have a wonderful view of the water. The reason I'm giving it three stars is because of the number of gnats and insect that were there as well as the fact that the trail itself wasn't really what we expected based on pictures we saw . Probably won't go back for just a walk, but maybe a bike ride instead to avoid the critters

I absolutely love it here. A little something for everyone. Picnic tables and bbq grills. Walking trails. Ice cream Parler and beach area. Something for everyone.. the water is beautiful. Butterfly bushes attract hundreds of of butterflies. So beautiful. Best time to go is in the summer.

What's not to love about Edgewater? I'm grateful that I live a short drive or cozy walk away making it easier for me to visit at off peak times because this park does fill up when the weather is nice. I visit to take walks, ride my bike, sit on a grassy hill and look at the lake or cityscape, or sit on the swings by the beach...and much more. I've run into lots of friends and acquaintances reminding me just how small Cleveland is. Parking can be a challenge on those great weather days/weekends but Metropark staff and occasionally the police help monitor park capacity and traffic flow. If you visit once, you're quite likely to visit again!

This has become a very popular park in Cleveland for good reason. I'd never been, but we finally visited during the summer when visiting my parents. It's a pretty long park. There's a beach as well as plenty of park area. We started out down by the beach which was really pretty. Then we went up by the Cleveland sign which I preferred. Other than right by the sign, there were less people up there. There are also beautiful skyline views and plenty of shade. If you haven't been, this park is a must in the summer.

This park has the Cleveland sign for a fun photo op; a pier, the lake and amazing views of the city from this park. We saw a wedding party, people fishing and just simply frolicking enjoying the sun. Parking was available. The park is huge!

We ended up coming here for one reason and staying for another... I had seen photos of a 'Cleveland' sign here, but unfortunately we were not able to find it...not sure if it was removed. But decided to watch the sunset here right by the water... wow! This is seriously such a pretty park. There's a pier and plenty of giant rocks to chill on, which seems to be a hot spot for fishermen. There's also a large green space for picnics, sports, or just hanging out on. If you wanna get up close to Lake Erie, this is the perfect place to do it at.

If you're visiting Cleveland and want somewhere to see a great sunrise or sunset then here's your stop. Short car ride maybe grab some donuts & coffee at Brewnuts and come here. Walk, sit on the beach or in your car. Very nice place to come

Not to be confused with The Edge Water, which is a brand of bottled "agua" that is owned and promoted by U2's lead guitarist. This is a spectacular park with the timeless skyline of the city of Cleveland as the beautiful backdrop. It includes beaches and hills and wooded areas and it's one of the most amazing places in the entire state of Ohio in my opinion. I love the skyline of Cleveland in the background of course, it's the highlight of the park, along with the lettering they put up not too long ago to say Cleveland, and although it gets a little creepy here at night and very cold here in winter, it's still probably my favourite destination in town. Edging can be fun, but it's difficult depending on who you're with (hardest of all with Barbi), or which material you're viewing (Khloe Kay and Marissa Minx and Natalie Mars and Chanel Santini and Aletta Ocean for example). If it goes wrong, you'll get a bunch of premature "Edgewater."

Edgewater Park gets an A+ in my book. Admittedly, I have only been here in the warmer months to run, but it is always clean, well maintained, and appears safe. From a runner's perspective, the varied scenery and elevation is nice. There also appear to be a lot of people enjoying the beach on warmer days (complete with beach volleyball!), and there is at least one playground for children to enjoy. On a warm day with nothing to do, Edgewater Park is a great place to spend some time!

Beautiful park, lots of great views! The walking paths made it easy to get around on foot. We went to the top of the hill where there is a Cleveland sign, and is a great vantage point to get a picture of the city skyline. There were also a bunch of scooters and bikes on site if you didn't want to traverse the park on foot. The beach was very clean and has some great amenities. There are multiple volleyball nets in place. There are some bench swings that comfortably fit 3-4 adults; it's a great spot to relax for a few in the shade. There's also a concession stand - that serves dog friendly ice cream!! We saw people at the beach participating in various activities; football practice, fitness training, playing Frisbee, etc. This is a pet friendly park, so there were multiple people who brought their dogs with them.

Beautiful park with a good beach. Edgewater Park is a favorite in Cleveland. It has lots of green space. A pier is a popular attraction. There's a great view of downtown from here. Edgewater Park can get crowded but often it's pretty empty. It has some cool features. There's a parking lot that gets you almost right up to the water. It makes getting to it very convenient. The beach is pretty nice considering it's on Lake Erie. A good thing is the water usually looks pretty clean. People think it's safe enough for swimming. A great attraction is the pier. The pier attracts lots of fishers but it's also nice to go on to. Off in the distance there's the lighthouse. There's also a good view of the downtown skyline. In the summer it's much more busy. Music and other events are here. There's also lots of food trucks.

Ahhhh what a great park! I recently did beach yoga here for the first time then walked a lap around the park. It was a beautiful sunny day and I got some great pictures by the Cleveland sign. Before the pandemic they used to do Edgewater Live where they had bands and food trucks on Thursdays during the summer. I also saw that they are building a big playground for kids. You can go swimming, fish on the pier, walk and talk with your friends on paved trails, bike ride, walk your dog, have a picnic. There's the Nature Shop where you can rent SUP or lounge chairs. Or the Beach House where you can get some ice cream and alcoholic beverages. I thought it was a nice clean park and would definitely go here again!

The first exit goes to the pier, picnic tables, the beach and the beach house that has snacks and restrooms. The second exit goes to the upper park that has a beautiful view of the lake and downtown, and tables under big trees. A path connects the two. The Cleveland sign is at the upper park and people takes pictures there. This park is very nice.

Nice park on the water. I would have given this park/beach a better rating but when walking on the beach we saw the giant sewer release that looked like it had recently been used and released waste into the water right on the beach you walked on. Plus tons of dead fish and other garbage piled up. Other than that it is picturesque of the city skyline and the water surprisingly was pretty clear. Still a great park to walk around. Just not sure I would want to swim.

Whooo, now THIS is a park. Alcoholic beverages and food and snacks for kids sold there? Check! Ample green space with lots of pathways? Check. Loads of parking? Check. Scenic views? Super check. The ability to swim in a Great Lake (Erie)? Heck yeah! I loved coming here to wade into the lake, enjoy the vibe of the many people hanging out, and playing on some of the fitness equipment with my kids. I enjoyed a beautiful sunset and have nothing negative to say. It's a beautiful park with lots to do.

First time coming here. The park was absolutely beautiful. I walked from the Cleveland sign to the the pier on this journey. Very well maintained park but the beach is not in good shape, it's littered in dead fish, algae and trash but usually Ohio does a great job with maintaining their Parks and hopefully that gets cleaned up soon

Water was a little cold but was so nice. My partner had the idea to go to the beach and I really had no interest to go layout on some lake sand. I was so underrating this place and enjoyed it so much I wanted to go back the next day. There is a pavilion and you can grab some food here too. We are already making plans to go back next summer. Absolutely worth checking out (when sunny and warm).

Free parking, porta-potties, beautiful view of Lake Erie. The cleveland sign is a must, and on a beautiful day you will see many people walking their dogs, going on walks or even dates. Loved the experience.

Well, it's no California beach, but she sure is a beaut ain't she? We're pretty fortunate in Northeast Ohio to even have beaches and a waterfront, even though it's not warm and sunny all year long. I think whoever maintains this does a great job and I am appreciative of that so we get to enjoy it every summer. Hopefully the severe tides stay away as they've been taking away some of the beaches out on the west side.

This is definitely one of the hot spots, must-sees of Cleveland. There are plenty of things to do in every season! Summer and early Fall are best for cookouts with the fam, beach dates with friends and Sunday strolls with your canine friend. The rest of the time, Edgewater can be best utilized for its workout equipment and extensive walking paths that start in Ohio City and end in a Lakewood suburb. There is plenty of parking, several grills, bathrooms, and a few pavilions. Normal activities and amenities include Thursday night concerts (Summer only, probably to resume after Covid), concession stands, beach yoga, grills, plenty of parking, a pier, a dog park, pavilions, strategically placed restrooms, shady spots, and the Cleveland Script if you hike the hill! I personally like to to come here to take photos and practice my grilling (or lack thereof) skills. Check out this evening photo I took of a nearby cityscape - Rocky River or Lakewood I believe!

A must stop when in Cleveland. Just discovered this park while visiting my brother who lives in Cleveland and me and my husband decided we will be stopping here every time we give them a visit! This place has something for everyone. From a clean and gorgeous beach, with soft, comfortable sand, lifeguards, volleyball courts right on the beach, free parking, nice, clean and covered picnic tables, clean bathrooms, a covered bar area, big rocking chair swings that fit many, walking, biking and hiking trails, geocaches, one of the Cleveland script signs overlooking the city skyline, a pier and rocks for good fishing, this is the ideal place to come by yourself, or with friends or family. On Thursdays in the summer they set up a stage and have free concerts complete with food trucks and vendors and the perfect view and environment for a great evening. We also got food from the park establishment and were pleased. The pizza dippers for $5 were filling and delicious and well priced in my mind. We also got quesedillas and waffle fries with cheese. While the cheese was a small amount the waffle fries were crisp and yummy. The food filled us up and was well priced for a place of its kind. I could spend all day on this park, and I think you could too! I know I will be back many times on each visit to Cleveland! When nearby, make sure to stop by, you will not regret it!

If I lived in the Cleveland area, I would probably be here every day! This place is so awesome, what dreams are made of. Do you love the beach? Do you love swimming? picnics? Sunsets over the water? beer? Ice cream? Cocktails? Stand Up paddle boarding? Cabanas to stay out of the hot sunlight? If you said yes to any of these (or all of these), this is the place for you. I was so pleased to find Edgewater Park as I am a Michigan native and LOVE the Great Lakes. This beach is a bit packed but for good reason. There is not only a beach (that has lifeguards during the day), but there is a giant pavilion where you can order hot dogs, ice cream, onion rings, and beer! After ordering these things, you can enjoy them at a picnic table or bring. them. to. the. beach. with. you!!!! Like, legally! And even better yet, on the upper level of the Pavilion, there are comfy lounge chairs, more picnic tables...and a cocktail bar! This place is seriously a dream come true for me. All of my favorite things in one place.

Location on the water is everything. Ample walking trails. Tons of grass for a picnic. Park with play area for kids. Loved it.

Recently visited with our dogs and absolutely enjoyed our time. We brought a pop up tent that we were able to set up in the shade with a nice breeze off the lake. There were so many people enjoying the nice weather but the park is so big everyone had their own space. It was our favorite part of our day and we look forward to visiting again in the future.

it's a really awesome park that my nephew loved. The playground looks so cool live and I wanna play on it and I'm in my 30s. The surrounding park is gorgeous and wooded. The public beach is also right below you down a hill. To reach it you go through this gorgeously wooded trail. It was a fantastic experience and it cost nothing!

It had been years since I hung out Edgewater and I see it really has changed. Even the landscaping looks upgraded. I attended the 3rd installment of the 2019 Edgewater Moves events put on by Nola Movement. I could not have had a better time. The setup was under the huge Willow Ceremonial Tree right by the water and rocks. We were able to catch a glimpse of nearby boaters and the beautiful sunset as we danced to beautiful Caribbean beats. I'm so sad I missed the other two installments of the series. Nike, Kelly, and Iris worked us out so well. I hope this series returns next summer. The park was clean and peaceful on a Friday night no less. It was busy, but the vibe remained good. I will definitely make a point to visit more often going forward.

Beautiful beach that is dog friendly! Really lovely stretch of sand, plenty of shade, super views of downtown Cleveland and if you have access to one, you can drive your boat ride up to the shore. Walking trails lead to the shore and to grassy areas where you can barbecue, picnic and refill the dogs' water bowls.

The sunset tonight was too pretty not to share! The park is beautiful and clean. I can't wait to go back during the summer and walk on the beach!

Located just minutes from downtown, this landmark beach has improved greatly since taken over several years ago by the Metro park system. It is a great way to picnic, grill, swim and run, bike or walk on the paved walkway. You can park up top near the Cleveland sign and walk down to the beach. The beach us clean and the bay is 900 feet. Beautiful views if the city and lighthouse seen from above. The beautiful pavilion has a lively bar with ample seating. Trip C creative arts program offers live music every week in the summer. Edgewater LIVE has food trucks and refreshing adult beverages. Bring your blanket, sunscreen and chill. This is truly a huge improvement over the Edgewater park that I knew as a child. If you have not been there within the last 2 years, treat yourself, you will not be disappointed.

great beach experience! They have concessions and bathrooms which are super convenient. Love the ice cream stand. The walking trails are stunning and a great place to see the Cleveland skyline. The sand isn't my favorite and tends to get very dusty especially if there's any wind. Summer at edgewater gets a bit crowded and loud, but also a great place to hang out with friends all day.

Great park! Loads of available parking, nice big grassy areas, a BEACH! Fun new Edgewater pool house has a decent spread of concessions, lovely view, and clean bathrooms - a rare gem at a park! Just outside the pool house is a fun living landscape photo opp, and you can walk ~3/4 mile to Upper Edgewater Park for one of the "Cleveland" signs. Definitely a place I would take friends or family again, especially if paired with eating at one of the tasty nearby restaurants (Spice, Latitude 41, Happy Dog, XYZ tavern).

A lovely park with plenty of parking. A walk around here seems like a mandatory part of a Cleveland trip.

A hidden gem in plain sight. My wife and I visit Cleveland frequently, but never visited Edgewater Park until our most recent journey to CLE. The park is easy to find whether it's from downtown or elsewhere in the city. There are numerous access points and parking is aplenty. We observed a fishing pier, huge beach area, open fields, hiking/biking trails, and even a stand to get ice cream or treats. A script Cleveland sign on the west side of the park provides a great place to take a photo with a beautiful backdrop of downtown Cleveland to the rear. We saw a metro park ranger patrolling as well which added a sense of safety while navigating this prized location. We will be returning to learn more about the park.

The way Edgewater has changed for the better over the years has been phenomenal! The beach is consistently kept in such great shape and it is the perfect place to hang out with friends and enjoy yourself in the summer. The beach has a cool boardwalk that extends out giving a great view of the city and the park has awesome events in the summer like Edgewater Live that is free and a great way to spend a summer night. It is also large enough that you can just go to walk around on different paths that extend around the park. There is also a lot of outside groups that come in and do different events at the park like yoga, etc. that you are able to participate in and there is even a little cafe type food place that has a few different options too.

Edgewater just keeps getting better and cleaner. I still wouldn't swim in Lake Erie but the Beach is cleaned and the park is always bring cleaned and renovated. It's one of the best places to view the sunset .the have a full trail with workout equipment along the way. The pier is pretty romantic and great view of the city.

Awesome park. Came here Memorial Day weekend on our visit to Cleveland to watch the Air Show. The park is huge with a small beach. Lots of parking space and lots of picnic tables with grills. Also a nice path along the park to have a nice stroll or go for a run. If you are a local or visiting Cleveland, highly recommend spending an hour or two here.

The majority of my Sundays are here, in the Summer anyways. After, Whiskey Island is the destination. This whole Summer I came here to Meditate on the rocks and started up cardio again. Much needed, I felt like" the biggest loser contestant". Weight not involved, just being a slacker (Tech 9ne). I'm feeling 1000% better than I did at the beginning of the Summer. No pain, no gain. Now Summers coming to a slow, but definite end. I went to Edgewater one day this Summer about two weeks ago and there was a mound, about 3-4 ft tall of black.... Something that went on for a good 100 yes along the shore. I never go in the water anyways, so no problem for me, our planet though, no bueno. Furthermore, Cleveland, my city!!!! Anyways, Edgewater holds a special place with my heart. Whiskey Islands attached to it, doesn't hurt. Only adds to the awesomeness of it!!!!
