Edison & Ford Winter Estates

Visited the Edison & Ford Winter Estates and had such an enjoyable experience! The grounds are beautifully maintained, peaceful, and full of history. I loved walking through the museum so many interesting inventions, early cars, and personal artifacts that really bring the stories of Edison and Ford to life. The self-guided tour was perfect for exploring at our own pace, and there were plenty of helpful signs to learn as we wandered. Restrooms were clean, gift shop had nice souvenirs, and overall it felt like a relaxing place to spend an afternoon. A great spot for history lovers, families, or anyone wanting a scenic and educational outing. Definitely worth the visit!

The Edison and Ford Estate is a really cool stop in Fort Myers. The grounds are beautiful, especially the gardens and big banyan trees. The homes and museum are easy to walk through and give you a quick but interesting look into Edison and Ford’s lives and friendship. It’s a relaxed place to explore, take photos, and learn something without it feeling like a boring history lesson. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.

This is a great place to visit and educate you about some history. The place is well kept and clean. Not so crowded so you can walk easily around the premises. There's clean bathrooms and a souvenir shop with cute items to purchase. The young woman at the ticket information was extremely helpful, she was so charming and courteous and professional. She answered our questions with a smile, when we return again to purchase tickets I will update her name. We were just visiting at this time, so you can freely walk around the buildings and shop if you like.

This place is a combo of gardens, museum, and a lab together with a lot of history. Loved the visit especially by learning a lot of historic moments from the past. The property is very neat and clean, great staff, and gorgeous landscaping. It is really worth spending a day here at this place. Would love to visit again in the future.

Being an engineer, I was naturally drawn to this place to learn more about two of the most influential tech entrepreneurs in history. I was curious about how they lived, but honestly, the houses themselves didn’t impress me as much. What truly stood out was the story. I wasn’t aware of the deep friendship between Henry Ford and Thomas Edison before this visit, and learning about that history was fascinating. The museum, in particular, was incredibly inspiring. It really hit me how much of our modern world traces back to their work—electricity and lighting, long-distance communication, recorded music (phonograph), automobiles, rechargeable batteries, and more. So many everyday technologies we take for granted exist because of their innovations and persistence. The visionary leadership and business acumen of both Edison and Ford are deeply motivating. If you’re interested in technology, entrepreneurship, or innovation history, this place is absolutely worth visiting.

This museum will have something for everyone. From flower to working cars from 1907. Why can't cars be like that today 😒 they got better gas mileage than I do on my vehicle today. Ugh You can Purchase plants, home decorations, watch movies after 6pm outside and see holiday lights. What a perfect day. Go out of your way to come here. Ticket prices are $28.PP No senior discounts. Ugh Either way it's worth the trip !

I loved the property overall. It's a small area overall. I went through it in less than 2 hours. Most of the buildings can only be viewed from the outside, with the exception of the museum. They also sell plants near the entrance and they have a few gift shops scattered around. They have a guided tour for a little extra money, but I chose the self guided option. Overall, it was a pleasant time at a beautiful place.

Amazing piece of history tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Being able to walk the grounds where both Edison and Ford spent time together is awesome, but how well everything is kept and organized the tour is you learn so much! HIGHLY recommend spending a couple hours here!!
