Edith Macy Conference Center

Everything about my stay was exceptional. The entire team is dedicated to offering terrific customer service. The views and grounds are stunning for a walk in between meetings, or a peaceful place to take calls. The food was wonderful, accommodating every dietary need. I would recommend this center to everyone.

Wow. Just wow. Thank you Edith Macy. Everyone here was so nice, the stay was so comfortable, and I loved my morning hike around the campus. It was beautiful and the fireplace kept my heart warm as well as the delicious food. I will be telling my family of this place if they ever need a cozy spot to stay.

Excellent service and accommodations. The staff were exceptional, and the food was phenomenal. My room was warm and cozy along with clean and bug free. I walked the grounds each evening and that was also very well kept up with. If you are looking for a modern but yet natural surroundings, this is the place to stay. Everyone was welcoming and very efficient while also being extremely friendly.

We just came back from a 3 day retreat. The rooms are nice, roomy and cozy. The staff was amazing. The food was delicious and the desserts were excellent. I’m very impressed with the everything overall and glad I could go there. This was the right time of the year to go to this hidden gem. The added plus was the bar at 5pm. After a long day of organizing that was just an added bonus

Nestled in the woods the view is spectacular and exercise is available. The kitchen is fantastic and works to offer many choices and cater to many differing allergies. I would highly recommend it!

Stunning setting amidst woods and trails. Comfortable and spacious rooms. Gorgeous gathering spaces - inside and out. And the most gracious staff anywhere!

Food was great! The grounds were very nice. We saw deer etc. The service was excellent and the accommodations for our team were clean. I appreciated the staff as they were both polite and attentive.

This is a great location for a business meeting or retreat. The staff is friendly and the place is beautiful.

I came with my colleagues for a work sponsored retreat event on a Friday and it was truly a wonderful experience. The Edith Macy staff was so friendly and on top of the service. They were very attentive to all the needs of the group and just had great energy. The facilities were very clean and spacious, offering a lot of different recreational activities such as volleyball, basketball, corn hole, beautiful nature for hiking, gorgeous views of the lake, and plenty of seating both inside and outside. The food we were given was delicious, everyone loved how varied all the options were and how they were accommodating to different dietary preferences (dairy free, gluten free, vegetarian). We ended a fun and relaxing day of bonding around a campfire and had s'mores. Truly a wonderful space to host large groups for a more outdoorsy/camp-like retreat driving distance from NYC! Thank you to all the staff for being so amazing. Highly recommend this place!

I've attended events at the Edith Macy Center over the years and didn't realize I had never written a review. I have never stayed there - so this is just for the conference center. The parking situation is something to be aware of - don't expect to just park and waltz in. It's a beautiful area with rolling hills and parking is away from the actual conference building - so plan to take a shuttle. Shuttle drivers are friendly and helpful as are the other staff that I encountered. I didn't partake in the food options but friends and colleagues rave specifically about how great the breakfast is. The conference rooms are very nice, everything is wheelchair accessible and there's a good sized auditorium for keynote speakers and larger audiences. Great place to have an event!

I was here for a couple of nights in the fall for a work planning session with our company, and had a really nice time. Yes, the place is a bit dated, but everything about it was absolutely fantastic. Being located out in the wilderness with Deers outside walking around the buildings, and the multiple walking trails throughout, along with the large dining room and the well functioning conference rooms, made for a really good experience. Further, we had a team building session with a bongo drum team out front which was so much fun. Apparently it's one of the many teambuilding functions you can choose from that this place offers. The outside patio with the fire pit is a nice touch and great for hanging and drinking in the evening. They even have propane heating lanterns when it's too chilly. The food in the dining room was actually pretty good. Don't expect Michelin star custom meals here, but the buffet food was always hot and fresh. Further, the gentlemen from the kitchen were always asking me if I needed anything, and were quick to get it. All of the staff here are clearly on a mission to make you feel comfortable. My guest room felt old, but very spacious with a unique sloped ceiling. There was a good sized TV, but it had very limited channels to choose from. My large king size bed was very comfortable. I liked the view of the wilderness outside the large set of windows within my room. It was nice to wake up in the morning to it. I would recommend any company to plan a getaway with their staff out to this place.

Have attended a few summer outings at the Lakeside venue. Nice camp like feel with nice views. Service is always attentive. Food has been ok, but nothing special. Lots of parking nearby and shuttles to either venue. Great for corporate functions.

I cannot rave enough about Edith Macy, especially thanks to the sales manager Patti Caulfield. Patti gave a great visit of the venue, thoroughly answered all my extensive questions and we even got to know each other personally- made me feel like she genuinely cared and wanted to build a relationship, that I was not just a potential numbers sign they were trying to "get." Patti truly goes above and beyond, is extremely helpful, professional, and ready to help resolve any concerns- has been a true pleasure to work with and is a vital asset to Edith Macy! Of course with the unexpected pandemic we had to reschedule our event not once but twice. We finally were able to go forward with our retreat in October 2021. From then the conference coordinator Kathy Fosse was helpful in answering my continued detailed and endless questions- especially as we had to delay our final decision to obtain University approval for our event. Most especially, they tailored their service to the additional COVID safety guidelines and restrictions of our University. Kathy gave a creative idea for our evening party that would keep safety in mind but still keep the event fun for our attendees. Our retreat day arrived, and I was pleasantly surprised to see Patti there bright and early to meet me at 7am. She graciously assisted me with setting up our registration table, so calm and helpful especially as she sensed my growing stress as the start time was quickly moving upon me and I was the only staff person there to set up. Definitely couldn't have made it through without her!! Patti and another member of the team stayed with us as our attendees arrived on 2 buses to help distribute room keys and direct them to their rooms. Due to the size of our group, we were able to have the entire venue to ourselves. The separated conference center is perfect. Some of our attendees stayed in the Commons late night to enjoy chess and conversations, with no disturbance to those who wished to retire to their rooms early. The venue itself is absolutely beautiful. It's an older property, but guest rooms are updated, clean and welcoming. The bed is one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, and I was upset I only had a few hours one night to enjoy it! The auditorium was perfect. So grateful we were able to take advantage of the Deck being covered by a tent- our attendees were able to enjoy their meals outside which helped maintain physical distancing for our large group while dining. A dance party with our DJ on the deck, with the s'mores fire pit and people able to spread out and enjoy conversations throughout the patio was a perfect blend for our evening social. On day 2 we had a photo scavenger hunt throughout the property which everyone loved- they got to enjoy more time outdoors in a very beautiful setting, which is especially vital for all of us coming from the city and mainly living in apartments! Overall, my director (who was seeing the venue for the first time upon her arrival for the retreat) and our attendees absolutely loved the venue, were beyond pleased with the great service and had a great experience. We look forward to returning for our retreat in the future, and absolutely will encourage any company to consider Edith Macy for their own events!

I had a wonderful experience at Edith Macy during my two night stay for a conference. My room was quite a walk from the main conference area, but it was also quiet. There are plenty of common areas to meet with others, and the auditorium is large enough to accommodate well over 100 people. The food is delicious and seems to be available nonstop! The three meals a day have tons of choices to fit numerous diets, including vegetarian and gluten free. They also put out snacks throughout the day so you are never hungry! The staff were all pleasant and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful. I would definitely recommend Edith Macy!

My company came here for our fall retreat and enjoyed everything Edith Macy had to offer - spacious rooms, beautiful grounds, fresh baked cookies (though, alas, not of the Girl Scout variety). Pluses + Nice guest rooms, not too fancy but classy and not cramped + COOKIES + The food overall. We ate about every 2 hours, and all of the food was delicious. I particularly liked the breakfast options, but the veggie options were certainly more impressive than at previous work retreats + Variety of meeting spaces - we got to sit inside, outside, in lounges, in meeting rooms, all over the place. Minuses - Guest rooms were awkward to get to, forcing you to walk inside and out to get between them and the common space - No sunlight in some meeting rooms - Constant water shortages - I know we had a big group. but by day 3, it should have been easier to keep the water coolers filled - Weird Muzak. This is minor, but it was so consistently weird that we often stopped conversations to ask "What IS this?" and the answers varied from "Moon River on the organ" to "the Muppets theme" Overall, a great place to have a retreat with a group of any size.

The bottom line with this place: the food here was really good, the rooms were clean, and the facilities were well-maintained. I went here for a departmental retreat and was definitely impressed. I can't speak as to the price since the department took care of organizing and financing the adventure, but I can't imagine that it was so so expensive since everybody's operating within a tight budget these days. This is a pretty cool little conference center located in Westchester and sort of off the beaten path and located in the woods. The housing units are built along the slope of a steep hill so be prepared for a climb as you move from the main conference center to the rooms. In the building where I stayed, each room had two beds and its own bathroom plus TV and walk-in closet. It was really quite nice. The main conference center has everything together in one small area: dining room, auditorium, and lounge area with a pool table, air hockey table, tv, wii, and a poker set / various boardgames. They also have some exercise equipment but it's just a weight set to do chest and back and a few ellipticals. No treadmills. Our conference was only two days long so I didn't get a sense of what it would be like to stay there long-term, but for the one night I was there, it was good. I will say that the place wasn't super huge so you're not going to fit a zillion people in there if you want to have a huge conference. We had one full coach bus of people and we took up about 2/3 of their auditorium.

The Edith Macy Center is owned by the Girls Scouts of America, As a conference center it is probably great. Gorgeous secluded location off in the woods. As a hotel, which is what I used it for, forget about it. Was going to stay Thanksgiving night after dinner at relatives. The "hotel" was about 4 miles from their house. After finding that the parking lot was about a 1/4 mile walk from the room. And there was NO breakfast. And that it would be treacherous driving down the wooded access road late at night. We paid for the room, drove back to CT after dinner and never used it. Hotels. com and others list this as a hotel. It isn't. Its a conference center, and if you don't have an event there, go find a real hotel.

I had a great time at the event there and the food was delicious and ample. You will get FULL! Overnight accommodations are not great but great for functions and conferences.

Great place for smaller groups, they provide plenty of snacks and drinks throughout the day. They provide numerous options for dinner and lunch, as well as vegetarian options at each meal. There are great trails to go take a break in the woods, and the conference center is located on several hundred acres, so It is quite peaceful in the morning with plenty of space to roam. There are numerous places to meet, with each of the guestroom buildings having a sitting area to meet informally, as well as meeting areas througout the campus. Meeting rooms are set up for indiviudal computer use, or just general classroom set-up with varying class size. And did I mention the food? They offer you so much you will not go hungry! Plus, the veggie options are readily available, it is not something you have to ask for and they go scrounging for some wilted lettuce as the "veggie" option. I had roasted vegetables and roasted tempeh that was quite delicious one evening, another evening they had a nice steak option with cognac pepper sauce. Much better than I expected!

Every once in a while we get a lot of family over and crowding up the house. On these occasions I have found myself staying at the Edith Macy Conference center in Chappaqua. It sure has a weird location in the middle of the woods but it sure worked for me nicely seeing it was close to home. The place is used for conference ,retreats and training. According to the Information on the front desk, the place is apparently owned by the Girls Scouts of America and is used heavily for training their supervisors/staff. The place has a eco-friedly type of theme ( prolly due to the Girl scout influence) and it's shown by their lack of escalators, low rise toilets and recycled paper. A lot of people whine about having to walk everywhere when the shuttles are not available but I'm an active guy and enjoy the exercise. The rooms are nice and remind of log cabins ( which I personally love) and the bathrooms were handicapped friendly and cleaned. Reminds of my own Scouting days. The food is great and fancy. Whenever there are groups meeting there they seem to have varied menus and the chefs seem to know what they are doing. The Restaurant supervisor was EXTREMELY hospitable and courteous as was the bartender . One time I was there I crashed on the parties some of the conferences were having and had a swell time. The place is very good and convenient for me. Look forward to my next visit
