I am an artist and collector and return often to this outstanding gallery on Canyon Road. The photography is world class and includes the work of Lisa Law, a major documentarian (film, photography, interviews) of the 60s counterculture and its significant players: Dylan, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Janis Joplin, The Dead and many others. Lisa is a delightful artist who understands and has, from having lived her life within the spiritual, communal movement, captured the music and spirit of the era . If you are lucky enough to encounter her at the gallery you will have the opportunity to hear first hand stories of her years of engagement with the people, vision and happenings that were expressed at Woodstock in 1969.
Lisa's daughter, Pilar, who owns the gallery, has a quiet, friendly demeanor that belies the expertise she possesses and the expert commentary she can provide about the work of the outstanding artists represented by Edition One. And you need to visit Pilar's store at the back of the gallery. It's full of cool merchandise, snack treats, and museum quality portraits.
