The Best Christmas Towns in the USA for a Dose of Holiday Cheer | Vogue

"Best experienced on Christmas Eve, I join locals and visitors strolling a historic adobe neighborhood lined with hundreds of farolitos and piñon bonfires, with holiday music in the air and galleries open late." - Nicole Kliest

I am an artist and collector and return often to this outstanding gallery on Canyon Road. The photography is world class and includes the work of Lisa Law, a major documentarian (film, photography, interviews) of the 60s counterculture and its significant players: Dylan, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Janis Joplin, The Dead and many others. Lisa is a delightful artist who understands and has, from having lived her life within the spiritual, communal movement, captured the music and spirit of the era . If you are lucky enough to encounter her at the gallery you will have the opportunity to hear first hand stories of her years of engagement with the people, vision and happenings that were expressed at Woodstock in 1969. Lisa's daughter, Pilar, who owns the gallery, has a quiet, friendly demeanor that belies the expertise she possesses and the expert commentary she can provide about the work of the outstanding artists represented by Edition One. And you need to visit Pilar's store at the back of the gallery. It's full of cool merchandise, snack treats, and museum quality portraits.

The staff here are great! I attended a meeting I heard about through the Santa Fe Software Developers group of El Sailon series by Curt Doty of RealmAI. The staff cleared the center of the gallery and setup chairs for about 25 people! Thanks to the Edition ONE Gallery staff!! Please see my pictures of this excellent gallery with a clean, intelligent layout of contemporary art!

Worth a visit when in Santa Fe. Dozens of eateries, eclectic shops, galleries and more line this gently sloping paved road. Sculpture gardens are plentiful. Walkable, about a mile plus. Bit of a trek, but doable, walk from downtown area, but if you buy items it may be best to drive. Tips: If you catch an Uber or the like, have them drop you off half way and trek up a few blocks to paid parking lot then back down. You can also catch the free Santa Fe shuttle to and from the Canyon. Shuttle usually comes through every 30 minutes or so. Check their online schedule.

Dear Pilar, I haven’t had the pleasure of coming to Edition One, but I can envision it and know that it’s at least five stars if not a whole galaxy. It’s time for me to come to Santa Fe and see you and the world around you. Thrive girl. Thrive. Still in L.A…. Eek! 😍

I lived in Santa Fe for many years and visited all the art galleries. Edition ONE Gallery is by far my favorite. Wonderfully curated art exhibits in a open, airy and friendly space. I was taken such good care of with each purchase I made. I can't wait to get back to Santa Fe to see what's next at Edition ONE.

If you're visiting Santa Fe, don't miss this gallery! Wonderful artwork in a gorgeous space. And at the back of the gallery, there's a great little shop called Pilar's on Canyon, with locally made food, drinks, and gifts.

Was looking to depart with a dear piece of art and reached out to see if company was interested. Company went out of their way to promptly respond to my inquiry and also made a recommendation on an establishment and person to sell to. Very professional and helpful company. If I'm ever in the market for artwork they will be one of the first I contact.

Yelp
Edition One Gallery is easily one of the most interesting galleries on Canyon Road. It is so well curated with photography, sculpture and paintings. I haven't seen another gallery with such an extensive and great mix of photographic exhibits such as the amazing 60's counterculture and rock photography of Lisa Law to Kisa Kavas' hauntingly beautiful work of wild and domestic rescue horses. I also love seeing  David Michael Kennedy's intimate pictures of famous musicians and Native American culture. All of the artists I've seen there are deep and accomplished. I've learned a lot just by looking at the work at Edition One Gallery. I also appreciate that the work is available at different price points making it widely accessable. Thank you!

Yelp
We visited easily a dozen galleries during our stroll up and down Canyon Road yesterday and this was my favorite. The building itself is a marvel with a center round skylight (I'm describing it ooorly) and a front fountain. It's LOVELY. I could have spent hours sitting and wandering the multiple artists' collections. There are paintings, sculpture and photography to look at but the photographic artists seem to be the favorite of the owner (and also of me, which is why I loved it so much!) The variety of artists and topics are impressive and the artists are broken up by subject matter, with the back room being dedicated to rock and roll and the main room broken into NM culture, wildlife, and others. The pricing ranges from many thousands for the larger, framed pieces to under $100 for some of the matted photos arranged in racks below the frames. I ended up ourchasing three pieces, one of which was an original by the owner, which she gladly signed for my ever-growing collection. I will be back. And you should go! This is a unique, enriching experience and one which everyone should have.

Yelp
A lovely "not to be missed" gallery on legendary Canyon Road in Santa Fe. My wife and I attended the showing of the Val Kilmer Collection. Thank you for such a warm and welcoming event!
