Enjoying my delicious Teriyaki Beef with Yakisoba Noodles here at Edo Japan, located here in Heartland Town Centre, 6055 Mavis Rd #2A, Mississauga, Ontario, Canada. Edo Japans founder is founder, Reverend Susumu Ikuta,who came from Japan to Canada to share a life full of faith and community. He opened Edo Japan over 45 years ago as a means for both nourishing and providing for the community. Before eating, Japanese people say "Itadakimasu" (いただきます) to express gratitude for the meal. This phrase means "I humbly receive" and is a way to thank the food, the farmers, the chefs, and everyone involved in preparing the meal. It's a polite and customary expression of appreciation that is spoken before starting to eat. Meaning: "Itadakimasu" is a humble version of the verb "to receive". It's a way of acknowledging that you are receiving nourishment and showing respect for the effort and life that went into the food. Custom: It is a traditional practice often accompanied by putting your hands together and bowing slightly, especially in formal settings. After the meal: After finishing a meal, it is customary to say "Gochiso-sama deshita" (ごちそうさまでした) to thank for the feast.

Tried this place for the first time and got the Sizzilin’ Shrimp rice bowl with some spring rolls. The bowl didn’t have much flavour at all and the spring rolls were veggie which didn’t taste very good. Underneath all the protein and veggies, is plain rice with no sauce.

I found the food really good and the prices are great too! The cashier was super nice and our food came out quick. I got the sushi platter with a bunch of different variations which is a nice option. I also got the teryaki chicken bento with spring rolls and shrimp. The udon noddles are really good and so is the shrimp but the spring rolls weren't my favorite. Ireally enjoyed my meal here and will definitely come back!

I ordered the Beef Sukiyaki and really enjoyed it. The serving size was surprisingly large, and it was quite tasty. I went with one scoop of teriyaki sauce, and next time, I'd probably go with two. The service was friendly and efficient. The meal was a little expensive but not excessively so. I liked the decor in the restaurant. Recommended!

One of the most affordable Japanese spots. 💕 I love Edo Japan’s daily specials which is from Monday to Sunday. We went on Thursday, which is when they’ve got these sushi-licious deals going on. We got a mix of 16 pieces of sushi - California, Dynamite, Volcano and Tiger rolls. Normally, one roll at other restaurants would cost around $9.99, but now it’s $9.99 for 4 different rolls. It’s really not bad and a quick and budget-friendly meal. 🥰 We also got the sukiyaki beef with brown rice. We’d tried it in Banff before and they served up this generous portion of beef and sauce that tasted amazing. So we tried it again, but it wasn’t quite the same. The portion was smaller and there was too much sauce, making it a bit salty.

I tried out their bubble tea for the promotion of $3 for the summer. You can’t change the sugar level so it was very sweet. The flavour was not good of the original milk tea. The tapioca was very hard, unenjoyable, I couldn’t finish the drink.

Service was outstanding and staff super friendly! Even checked on us multiple times to ensure we we're doing ok. A lighter and healthier dinner that hit the spot. Ambience and atmosphere always uplifting here.

Went here with my daughter. Parking was plentiful outside. The restaurant was quite clean and not too crowded (at lunch time on a Saturday). Food was cooked to order. Staff were very friendly. The decor was minimalist and the ambiance was bright and airy. I ordered a Japanese Curry Chicken which was interesting; however I personally would have liked the flavours to have been more integrated. I guess in my mind I was expecting sort of like a Thai curry. Anyway, my daughter enjoyed it and gave thumbs up for her Salmon Bento Box. 😋 The Salmon and Spring Rolls were well done. Overall, I thought the food was good, albeit a bit small on portion size (specifically the curry chicken pieces) and the prices were a bit higher than I'd have liked but most places are like that now with inflation. My daughter wants to go back so we probably will visit again in the near future.

Stopped by here while my friend was getting food next door but I wasn't hungry and didn't see any drinks I liked. Saw the ad for the bubble tea and thought it was calling for me. Everything was simple and quick and the bubble tea was delicious!

Really high quality food. Katul, Karishma and Harsh are super nice! I would recommend for either sushi or full meals.

I ordered a lot from here and I had the chance to try it in person. I wasn't really sure on what to expect in terms of the restaurant, but it's pretty well kept. I'd consider this fast food though the quality is very good. My go to is always the teriyaki salmon and it is very filling. My friend really likes the tofu here and the annoying thing is that they don't have a stand alone tofu option. Ie, you have to order chicken and add tofu. They do have it only on Fridays - it's called "tofutastic". If you're vegetarian you're kinda limited on eating only on a certain day, like what?? Doesn't make sense. Also, I wouldn't recommend the milk tea. It was very watery and the boba wasn't good.

As far as fast food goes, the quality was very good. They have bento, sushi, teriyaki bowls, and the like. There's a lot of options for meat-eaters, for vegetarians the menu pretty limited, but my veggie teriyaki bento was good. The portions for everything in the box were large and all seemed fresh. The spring rolls were perfectly crispy. They ask how much sauce you'd like for the teriyaki - I went with "regular" and it was plenty. I found the sauce a little bland, but it is just fast food so maybe my expectations shouldn't be too high. The cabbage on the side of the teriyaki was lukewarm by the time I got to eating it, but that also may have been my fault for being a slow eater. No other complaints. I don't recall the staff being either especially friendly or unfriendly. The price is fair for the portion.

I was in the area and was craving some sushi so I decided to check this place out. However, I was disappointed upon looking at the menu as it was very westernized and didn't have a lot of the typical Japanese restaurant dishes. This is a sit down fast food place. The sushi options seemed quite limited so I settled for the beef bento box with shrimp tempura and 4 pieces of California rolls for the sides. The other side options included gyoza and spring rolls. The bento box itself was quite pricey for the amount you get, but the beef and rice with teriyaki sauce tasted pretty good and had good flavor to it. The shrimp tempura was small but super crispy! The California roll was decent, nothing too special. I went on a Wednesday evening and we were the only ones there. Though they do get a lot of take out orders. Overall, decent food but a bit pricey for what it is.

Teriyaki chicken Bento was good but portion seemed a little less for the price - we ordered the spring rolls and gyoza( they have pork or beef only option), should have tried the sushi instead of the gyoza. The noodlefull was good with apt amount of veggies and chicken. I asked double for the sauce and for my taste kinda a one and a half was better since it became too much sausy,will have to try a single serving of the sauce. It's a fast food chain hence barely any wait time , approximately 10 mins. Overall good . May try the other options again.

The best Edo Japan I have had food in Excellent clean with great and extremely helpful and always smiling and a happy crew Ordered 1 bento box with beef Yakisoba and sushi And another meal in a bowl with another beef yakisoba with noodles as their beef yakisoba is excellent!! The food was above and beyond any other Edo Japan tasted excellent Such awesome and great taste the chilli sauce was super awesome too I actually vote this as the best Edo Japan in GTA The food and the people working there add to the awesome experience!!

The reviews and pictures make it seem like a sit down place but in reality it is a take out sorta place. Beautiful decor and very Japanese. They also have a ton of Japanese snacks for sale! We ordered a bento box and a salad bowl. Both were fresh and delicious. The teriyaki sauce is actually very tasty! My salad bowl was filled with edamame and fresh veggies and some nice soft tofu. We also got two brownie bites free with the bento box as part of their promotion. Overall, a decent and fairly priced place for quick Japanese food.

Came by because I was craving sushi so I wanted a something quick to go. Menu was decently big and lots of options. Sushi was ehhhhh hahaha. But I kinda expected it to taste like that. I do wanna try the grill stuff next time, maybe that'll add another star! Interior of the place was really nice and had a snack corner where you can buy pocky and stuff.

The dish I ordered consisted primarily of low-quality noodles, paired with subpar vegetables, all drenched in an excessively salty sauce. Despite its unimpressive contents, the price approached $20--a value that does not align with the quality of the meal. Those seeking genuine Japanese flavours might wish to consider alternative dining options.

We have never heard of Edo Japan before so we were excited to try out Japanese food when they opened. We were disappointed to find out it was more of a fast food restaurant than an authentic Japanese restaurant. The interior reminds me of an Ikea and didn't have any "Japanese" feel to it. We browsed the pre-made sushi containers but they were small and slightly overpriced for what it was. There weren't many sashimi or raw fish options. We skipped the sushi and ordered the Chop Chop bowl and Yakisoba noodles with chicken. The meals tasted average and were placed in either a plastic plate or bowl. I think Edo Japan should use reusable dishware. We were given a coupon to return another time but I don't think we'll be back as we were expecting authentic Japanese food. However, the staff are very friendly though!

Edo Japan serves shopping mall/plaza style Teppanyaki. The food itself is acceptable, but not the best if you have had real Teppanyaki. The flavor is catered towards Western audiences and meant for quick lunch rather than restaurant-style meal. I'm surprised they don't have a location in PATH or other office areas. This is a solid choice if you're in a food court after shopping. The store is new and nicely decorated. I also liked how the food was presented when I ordered the Chicken & Beef Bento. The bento came with 2 sides and I chose spring rolls and tempura shrimps. The meat here was more like shreds and wasn't that satisfying. The sauce was good, and I can understand why they are also selling the sauce separately. The spring rolls and tempura were a bit small. Therefore, I'd get this if I were craving some quick Teriyaki, but not as a full restaurant meal. The price is slightly expensive for plaza style food ($15.59 with tax for bento) so 3 stars.

I've dined at Edo Japan in the past at the Brampton location, so I was extremely excited when it opened a location in Heartland! The food is fresh and delicious but the staff is extremely friendly! So much variety and I swear the best part is the teriyaki sauce. This is definitely my favourite teriyaki for a quick eat, especially with the juicy chicken!! I highly recommend.

Always enjoyed Edo but today we placed a large order online for our dinner and found there were too few vegetables in each order. there were two pieces of broccoli and very little cabbage and carrot. I was disappointed today

$5.99 delivery fee plus HST for $21 food order, wow. Food nothing close to Japan food, just a western type bento box . They charge $3 for a miso soup. Had better from the prepackaged miso soup package. Do not recommend, sorry

The place itself seems to be like contemporary minimalist style, a very clean, neat space. The food presentation looks to be like canteen food, the bento boxes look like toys (meant to be reusable?), and plates are paper plates. In my opinion edamame is best steamed, as it is done at most Japanese places I've been to, then tossed with spices and/or seasoning, at Edo their edamame is somehow oily.. their menu says that it's steamed, and the sesame chili option is not spicy at all (I'm pretty low tolerance for spicy food). My siblings have tried the tempura shrimp as part of their bento box meal and it was very heavy on the batter. Today is the first time I've been there and I got the fresh grilled vegetables with yaki soba noodles instead of rice, and the noodles were somewhat chewy but for the most part they were stuck together as if it was overcooked or, precooked and cooked again to heat through with the vegetables. There is also this "grab & go" shelf that consists of pocky sticks, wasabi peas, tumbler cups, and hi chew candies. I'm not sure what demographic they are targeting but I think they missed the mark for culture. I gave 2 stars instead of 1 because the employees were fairly nice people, but I would not give 3 stars as it is not an okay place and I would not go back again.

Tried this place for the first time, honestly expecting it to be like all the others dollar to it, but I loves it! The teriyaki sauce they use here has such an nice flavour and aftertaste. Sometimes at places it can be too sweet or too salty, but this is just great. Nice balance and not over powering the food. I ordered the salmon teriyaki bento box with shrimp to give myself a nice variety. I enjoyed everything. The salmon was cook perfectly, the tempura shrimp were crispy, not soggy at all. And their edamame was steamed perfectly with the right amount of salt. My husband order the salmon bento box as well but with yakisoba noodles and the California rolls. He loved his meal as well. The noodles we perfect and not overcook/undercooked. There wasn't complains about either of our meals and we will definitely be going back. If you want a changed from the other guy or a new experience I highly recommend coming here. The great variety and quality of food you get, you will not be disappointed. They offer a good selection of bento boxes and combinations. I like that they offer brown rice as well. They ask you how many scoops of the special sauce you want on your meal and I thought that two wasn't enough - it's actually more than enough! That's unless you like your stuff soaked, but I would recommend no more than that. They have edamame and I highly recommend to make it spicy - so good!!!! It's a good place for quick and easy lunches. I've been there at peak lunch hours and after the lunch crowd and it's never busy that you can't get a place to sit. It's fairly new, so I think it's still developing it's base.

I haven't been to Edo Japan since 2019 and I see they have changed their menu. I'm not a fan of it to be honest. I prefer the old menu. They even changed the sauce! I noticed my udon had a different texture to it and it didn't taste as good as I remembered it. The noodles weren't cooked through and the veggies were not cooked through either. I don't think I will be going back when there are so many other choices of other Japanese eateries.

The food was delicious, and the staff were super friendly. This is a brand new location that opened recently. The management seems really friendly and helps their staff as they get used to the process, and they check with the customers if everything meets expectations. They have a great selection on their menu. It is a bit pricey compared to some other places, but you're paying for quality. The decor is really nice and it's located in a great spot in Heartland Town Centre, with lots of parking and great shopping around. I'll definitely be back. :)

People are so welcoming at this location. Service was a 10/10. The food portions are completely satisfying! Eventhough I had the veggie ramen I enjoyed it thoroughly and cannot wait to go back. They visited our table to ask how everything was and even brought us sauces and water without us asking for it. Massive props to their management for making customer service such a priority for their staff. Will recommend and go back for sure!

Pathetically cheap quality, even for the moderate price. Specifically: o shrimp tempura - obviously from pre-prepared frozen, the batter was tough, tasteless, like the shrimp. The tempura sauce was the wateriest, most tasteless I've ever tasted. o the soy sauce sauce offered is cheap, not properly fermented. It's junk. o the beef yakisoba bento box - bland.

Portions were a lot bigger than I thought it would be and the food was good! My only thing was that I by chance found out from the website there was mushrooms in the chicken teriyaki and I'm allergic so I asked if it was possible to make sure there was no mushrooms and they were not happy because we had already ordered the food and kind of rudely said in front of other customers that we should have told them beforehand... It was awkward. Someone came by later and asked how the food was though, so that was nice. Would go again, anyway.

I wanted to love it, I always loved edo when I lived in the city. My shrimp was burnt, I basically ate little and threw my dinner out, unfortunately dinner take out was a disappointment.

I came Sunday to grab some sushi for lunch, they were definitely not fresh. They were so cold, feel like they just came out from the fridge overnight. Disappointed.

Oy vey. Not only did the staff dismiss me as quickly as they could as I came in to inquire about my online order- but I was told it was not ready 5 minutes after the online ETA. I sat and waited an extra 10 minutes for my order to be ready, which would totally be a passive and fine thing to me and I would still give 5 stars even if that part hadn't happened, except the state of the to-go order was unacceptable. When my order was ready, they called out some foreign order number- completely unrelated to my online order. Like, they called "#939" and then specified it contained the oceani platter. I picked up my order based only off the latter attempt. I scoured my receipt in my email and it didn't have the number 939 ANYWHERE. They made me feel stupid for not popping up when they said it. My name is on the order. My name is on the receipt. Call my NAME. I went to grab my order and my god the LOOK I got from this employee. Don't alienate your customer. Seriously... Anyway, I got my order home and it was flooded. Lol. The containers for my miso soup AND the sauce for my tempura shrimp were completely empty, poured into the bag with the rest of my food... What a mess to clean up before even getting to eat... This store made me grumpy. This store made me feel like an unwelcome and dumb alien. This store did not seal liquids for transport. The food was edible. Eat there if you want but be forewarned it may be an overall grotesque experience.

So delicious! And the quantity was more than enough. I had the noodleful meal with beef and asked for spicy! I ate every last bit of it and I gave some to my son as well. He had the sushi kids meal. What a deal and such a great treat for a kid! It's my new favourite Asian take out place! I will be back again!

very bad service. they close up to an hour before the closing time and they are very rude screaming "NO NO WE CLOSE NO SERVICE GOOOO GOOOO GOOO AWAY NO SERVICE". it is the third day in a row i come here. first day 20 prior to the closing of the restaurant and they told me to f*** off, second day 40min before closing time and same thing and now an hour prior to the closing and still got s***. very rude people and very bad service
