On the Grid : Ed's Real Scoop

"This ice-cream shop is open all year round. The quirky part about this place is that they house their special flavours based on the current season. For instance, in the summertime, you can expect to taste their sangria sorbet. In addition to their infamous ice-cream, they also serve gelato, sorbet, and yoghurt. You'll find that the texture is more dense and smooth than your average ice-cream. Fun fact: this is their very first location and the employees here are consistently jolly." - Mimi Vuong

Google
My go to spot for some good ice cream!!! Huge fan of the Bacio and the hazelnut. The regular size is almost like a meal. So be prepared to be full after having a scoop😂 only thing their waffle cone is too thick which makes it too heavy. I like my waffle cones thin and crispy. My friend tried the mango milkshake and he loved it. Highly recommend this spot 🍦

Google
I was told to come to Ed’s for their burnt marshmallow ice cream, and I think it’s safe to say I found my new favourite flavour! I love an ice cream parlour with a familiar, family-friendly feel, and Ed’s knocks it out of the park. The staff were friendly, helpful, and really seemed like masters at their craft👩🏼‍🍳. I look forward to coming back and trying their other flavours, as well as their gelato!🍧

Google
Great little ice cream shop serving proper ice cream! Prices may seem a bit high at first, but their serving size is quite generous. The “kiddie” size was more than enough. Burnt marshmallow flavour with smores was 👌

Google
I can honestly say this is the best pistachio ice cream I’ve ever had! The crunchy pistachio pieces mixed in give it such a perfect texture and flavor. I also tried the Ferrero flavor, which was absolutely delicious as well. I’ve been to Ed’s Real Scoop multiple times already because they have such a wide variety of ice cream flavors, and every visit has been worth it. The only thing to note is that there isn’t a lot of seating space, but the ice cream itself is so good that it’s totally worth it. Definitely one of my favorite ice cream shops!

Google
Amazing taste! Loved the ice cream and gelato. They have small cups starting from $5.60. Highly recommended. I tried Pina Colada and Stracciatella. Both were great.

Google
Went out just looking for ice cream and ended up finding the ultimate ice cream spot. Super friendly staff, amazing flavours, and the vibe was perfect. Their burnt marshmallow flavour is next level—so creamy and rich—and adding Skor topping? Perfection. I can’t wait to come back! :)

This is a heaven for ice cream and gelato lovers. They offer a wide variety of ice cream and gelato flavours that change daily. Depending on when you arrive, the shop can get busy, especially on warm days, but the friendly staff keep things moving quickly and make sure everyone gets served with a smile. You can sample a few flavors before choosing, which makes the experience even more fun. Each order comes with two scoops—same or different flavors—and you can choose from Kiddie, Regular, or Large sizes, served in a cup or waffle cone (for a small extra cost). We tried “Tanzanian Dark Chocolate” and “Pistachio” gelato and “Coffee Almond Fudge” and “Rock of Ages” from ice cream flavours, both in waffle cone. Every flavour was rich, creamy, and delicious.

Google
We were looking for a great ice cream store and wanted to support local. Ed's came up in my search a couple of weeks ago and we've been there practically every evening 🤦🏻‍♀️ tasting all the different flavors of ice cream & Gelato. They do have other items shakes, cakes, & sorbet. They also make their own waffle cones on top of everything else they make in house. Its a quaint little place, just a small counter seating for 2 maybe 3 people however they do have small bench seating outside. The staff are friendly & efficient. My list of favorites just keeps growing. Its fall season & they don't have pumpkin 🎃 flavor, which is on my list. I know they have a few more locations but we go to the parkland & lakeshore location.

Yelp
We'd just finished a very heavy meal across the street and I was feeling like I could use a little sweet treat. Enter Ed's Real Scoop. I wasn't really hungry enough to be eating dessert, but I can never say no to Burnt Marshmallow ("Our signature scoop! Tastes exactly like a campfire marshmallow that has been perfectly burnt"). I grabbed a small scoop in a cup and took it back to the car. It was glorious. It was super creamy and loaded with flavor, and though I didn't meant to, I wound up finishing the whole thing. I regret nothing. It's good to know that Ed's is still maintaining their quality after all these years.

Yelp
My prize for a great Bike Ride (55 KM) and trying out @edsrealscoop over their lakeshore location. First impressions this is a place loved by the neighborhood and I can see why. Gotta love the generous portion and also the value of the scoops. If I wasn't on my bike I would order pints for some late-night snacking. I went with the Burnt Marshmallow that had a delicious caramelization with a great taste of Marshmallow. Underneath are Cookies and Cream. I love how it has chunks of cookies and cream for the crunch factor to it. Lastly, since they also offer gelato, I had to go for their Pistachio Gelato and it was heavenly. Note: Honey Yuzu and Earl Grey are something I would come back for.

Yelp
Sooo good!! Burnt marshmallow and Apple caramel crisp in a waffle cone. They described how they made the flavors. Enjoyed!!

Yelp
This place is really popular because we went at night right before closing and it was pretty busy still! I got the burnt marshmallow ice cream on a sugar cone and it was okay. I wasn't a fan of even though this has won many awards and on a global list. It tasted more like vanilla to me. They had other flavours though that I wish I tried like earl grey.

Yelp
Ed's knows ice cream, and each of its four shops in Toronto creates premium frozen treats in small, in-house batches using premium ingredients: Real cream, milk, sugar and farm fresh eggs. From the moment a spoonful hits your tongue, you'll be able to taste the difference -- and you'll dream about it too! What's the key to good ice cream? Recipes are made with a blend of milk and cream and churned at a low speed for an irresistibly creamy texture. It's no surprise that this ice cream is one of the city's best! Fan favourites include sweet cream, triple chocolate and burnt marshmallow. Shops have been open during COVID-19 with extended hours for the summer (check beforehand). If you can't make it into the shop, consider ordering a pint to enjoy chez vous...but it won't last long!

Yelp
Ice cream, sorbets and general deliciousness. Cute little ice cream place in Roncesvalles that we stumbled upon. So many eclectic varieties of ice cream and makes everyone feel like a kid in candy/ ice cream store!! We tried the burnt marshmallow and chocolate ice cream sundae and oh it was so so good! The ice cream was so smooth and delicious, just perfect for a summer day. Although it was pouring rain that day! The staff are very friendly, place is super cute and nice. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Close to my NEW HOOD Ed's Real Scoop has been the popular joint for awesome cool treats whether Gelato or ice cream, they've got it all. I decided to have their toasted almond, because it somewhat resembled my favorite gelato, Torrone/ turron. They've got plenty of flavors on hand and some stowed away in small takeaway tubs. Overall customer service is good and friendly. I'll be back soon

Yelp
Great and friendly service. Perfect for a little sweet treat. As with other locations, they have ice cream, gelato (cone, cup and take away pints available) as well as milkshakes, lattes, cappuccino and hot chocolate, etc. Tried the burnt marshmallow and bacio - delicious! Hot chocolate was good but nothing to write home about, ice cream on the other hand - two thumbs up! Lovely addition to the neighbourhood.

Yelp
Just moved the 'hood - first timer. Best I've had in a very long time. I'll be back very soon!

Yelp
Oh my god pistachio ice cream is so delicious! Friendly service and great flavours variety.

Yelp
Eds is a great neighbourhood gem for ice cream. Plenty of flavour choices and different styles like sorbets and gelato too. All of the flavours are high quality and delicious and haven't tried one I didn't like. They also have pint deals I believe if you visit regularly.

Jhonelle T.

Yelp
The flavours are just ok, is taste more like ice cream than Gelato. Lola's gelato is a better deal for your buck.

Yelp
My friends and I always come to this place for ice cream. They have amazing delicious flavors, my fav ones are the burnt marshmallows and blueberry pie.

Yelp
one of the best gelato places in the neighborhood. was very happy to come here after my friend has been ranting about the leslieville locations. seeing as though this location is just up the street from home, decided to give this place a try after dinner one night. this location is pretty tiny and if you blink you will surely miss it. the service is absolutely great, with the flavors of the ice cream/gelato being absolutely out of this planet. i decided to go with the lemon and cherry gelato, which came with a bit of a comment from the lady behind the counter...something to the degree of "oh i think that combo will be awesome!" and indeed it was. i was very happy to have paid what we did for the flavor and the quality of cold treats you get here, you can really tell how fresh and homemade the real scoops are. the service is great, the location is clean and the staff are super friendly. parking options are on the street and this location is serviced by the 501 queen streetcar/bus with a tiny bit of walking. worth it...100%!

Yelp
Everything is nice except the girl who makes cones wasn't wearing gloves and has very long nails. They should wear gloves when in direct contact with food!!! This is disgusting.

Yelp
- burnt marshmallow. hell yes. - need to try other things to bump up the stars, but a great addition to the neighbourhood!

Yelp
This place is great the ice cream is great and delicious. The service was great and they were very eco friendly as a Business as they used compostable cups and spoons. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting the city. When I walked in to Ed's Real Scoop there was a delightful Breeze which got even better when I smelled the fresh ice cream they had displayed to perfection in the glass window. When I thought my day could not get better I was greeted with delightful manners and allowed to samples flavours of ice cream before I choose my flavour which was strawberry yogurt. Yelp
Lot's of variety of flavours, very friendly service, and their gelato is excellent! A bit pricey but overall great dessert place.

Yelp
Excellent flavors! The creme brûlée is absolutely amazing. Great little find in Etobicoke/ Mimico!

Yelp
Had a nice experience at the new Eds on lakeshore. Happy they moved into Mimico! Will be enjoying their ice cream all summer!!!

Yelp
Ed's Real Scoop has a large assortment of classic and unique flavours, all handmade. The taste is pure creamy deliciousness. The maple pecan, chocolate peanut butter fudge and cookies 'n cream were all some of the best ice cream we had ever had. The people working there were very friendly and the ice cream maker was also serving the ice cream. For delectable, handmade ice cream, l highly recommend Ed's Real Scoop.
