What a cafe! It was like stepping back in time! Bone china tea cups and an old school tea pot. The tea was amazing the staff equally as attentive and pleasant. Cash is preferred although they take card. We also tried the blueberry scone with jam and butter which was light and tasty. Prices are on par with elsewhere but the quality and service makes this a must stop shop👍 They stop serving breakfast around 1130am so bear that in mind as they bring out a different menu.

Lovely tearoom. We always visit when in Perth and it never disappoints. Great food options. Lentil and bacon soup highly recommended. Good, central location and lovely customer service.

Popped in here on a whim while headed somewhere else was delighted by the maximalist decor with art and memorabilia everywhere I didn't have to wait for than 3 minutes for a table and tried the afternoon tea You get to pick your sandwich and tea and from a selection of scones and desserts. I chose the prawn sandwich, blueberry scone, and lemon drizzle cake with early gray tea (and black currant cordial because I wanted to try it) The prawn sandwiches are a must! The scones were ok; I have limited experience with scones but from what I've had in the past, these seemed a bit a dry but worked well with the clotted cream and jam The lemon drizzle cake was good although the icing might send you into a sugar crash later The staff are attentive and friendly but always on the move All in all, a great place to grab some tea and goodies

Take a step back in time in this beautiful restaurant, full of old pictures of Perth. Friendly, welcoming staff (must mention Jackie). Freshly cooked omelette is the best I've ever had. Huge silver teapot and bone China teacup makes it feel special. Varied menu sure to please everyone. Thoroughly recommend.

This was probably our favorite restaurant experience the whole time we were in Scotland. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was all delicious. The atmosphere is so cute. And the prices were very reasonable. I would come back here for afternoon tea in a heartbeat. Make sure to reserve a time in advance to get a table.

A visit to Effies of Perth for breakfast. What a treat it was! A beatiful eatery in the heart of Perth, with a feel of yester-year. Staff are so friendly, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. A vast array of food and drinks available to suit all taste buds. We both had a full Scottish breakfast and we were not disappointed. I like my food but struggled to finish everything on my plate. You will not go away hungry, that is for sure. A gem of an eatery in Perth!

Effies was the HIGHLIGHT of our visit to Scotland. When you come in the doors, George immediately makes you feel like family. Everything inside is carefully curated and full of delicate details like various china cups and teapots. The food was SO good and we enjoyed all of the flavors of tea they offered. But the absolute BEST part was the carrot cake. When I tell you this carrot cake could solve world peace. It’s moist- sweet- somehow light and heavy and truly everything you want a piece of cake to be. We LOVED it and still talk about it to this day. Our server Carlie was a gem and was so welcoming and caring.George also gave us GREAT travel tips and shared stories with us. The town of Perth is so quaint and lovely. We enjoyed visiting the thrift shops and walking the streets. We went all 3 days in a row of our 3 day Perth trip! Do yourself a favor and add Effie’s to your Scotland visit- we think of it often and treasure our time there.

Google
Effies of Perth is absolutely outstanding. We’re local and visit regularly, and every single visit has been phenomenal. The food is consistently excellent, and despite how busy it always is, everything is so well handled. The staff are incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely make you feel looked after. A real gem in Perth Highly recommended!

Yelp
Effie's was the most charming and lucky spot we found on our train layover. The interior was clean and filled with lovely antiques. The atmosphere was incredible and all staff was wonderful, efficient and friendly. We highly recommend this business.

Yelp
What a wonderful meal we had. George who is the owner is just terrific. The food was very good. Be sure and try to Cullen Skink soup and the best carrot cake. Thank you George and staff .

Yelp
What fun! Effie's is a kind of Everyman's tea cafe--complete with the triple-level service trays for those who cut to the tea menu and pass up the more ordinary lunch fare. A very pleasant, unique throwback of a family restaurant--fine staff, good food, and grandma's recipes for the cakes It's a cash establishment, so be prepared for that--the nearby ATM was nonfunctional when we were there.

Yelp
Loved our English breakfast and tea experience. Everything was so proper. The fine bone china, the silver kettle and the ambience. Highly recommend you to come and experience this place.

Yelp
The best afternoon tea I've ever had in Scotland! Additionally, the soup was fantastic, and the lunch was wonderful! But the tea was the best. Sandwiches were good, and scones were fine, but it was the dessert that really blew me away. The carrot cake was absolutely to die for!

Yelp
A beautiful quaint little tearoom in which the owners are real gems, the decor as you would expect, kind of from a bygone era. Thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent here and look forward to returning many times in the future. The full Scottish breakfast was quality with a capital Q!! Tea served in a silver tea pot, toast in a proper toast rack. Absolutely faultless from start to finish. The menu has a beautiful selection of different dishes and the prices are very reasonable for such a quality establishment.

Yelp
What a gem!!! I used to frequent a place called Curiosities, a lovely tea room full of little vintage nik- naks but the other Sunday I popped along to discover that it had moved!!! My boyfriend lives in Perth and I was very disappointed that my favourite little cafe had left me...UNTIL I stumbled upon 'Small Talk'. Dare I say it - it's even better!! This charming little cafe is full of beautiful antiques to sit and admire whilst you sip your tea out of a special tea cup, saucer and poured from a unique silver teapot! After speaking to the owner he explained that all the antiques in the cafe were collected by him over the years, all the postcards under the glass of the tables are his own too! You could tell he was very proud of his business and came over to inform us that the carrot cake was to die for...it was!! I had visited the cafe with my boyfriend and his friend, my boyfriend and I had 2 homemade cakes and our friend had homemade salmon pate, i nabbed a bit, delicious! Overall I'd say it is definitely a place i will look forward to returning to, the only thing I would like to see would be a little selection of trinkets at the back that you could perhaps buy, I love the vintage look and would be keen to see more of the owner's collection. One point to note is that it gets very busy at lunch times so the owner recommended booking!!

Yelp
The owner of this family-run tea shop made us feel really special and made great menu recommendations. The meal was good but the deserts were OUTSTANDING. Highly recommend the cloutie dumplings, sticky toffee pudding and carrot cake!!

Yelp
Being new to the area and being American, this place was perfect for breakfast and tea. The food was beyond amazing and their hospitality was out of this world. The woman who ran the place as such an angel and helped with everything from food choices to local attractions. Definitely recommend to anyone that wants to have a great breakfast experience with a rustic atmosphere. Definitely would come back anytime !!

Yelp
Two things. Strawberry cheesecake. Carrot cake. Absolutely amazing, as a baker myself I have absolute envy over how incredible these two bakes are. Really enjoy every visit to the quaint and delightful tearoom. Can also vouch for the afternoon teas. Excellent service every time! Love!
