What a cafe! It was like stepping back in time! Bone china tea cups and an old school tea pot. The tea was amazing the staff equally as attentive and pleasant. Cash is preferred although they take card. We also tried the blueberry scone with jam and butter which was light and tasty. Prices are on par with elsewhere but the quality and service makes this a must stop shop👍 They stop serving breakfast around 1130am so bear that in mind as they bring out a different menu.

Take a step back in time in this beautiful restaurant, full of old pictures of Perth. Friendly, welcoming staff (must mention Jackie). Freshly cooked omelette is the best I've ever had. Huge silver teapot and bone China teacup makes it feel special. Varied menu sure to please everyone. Thoroughly recommend.

Popped in here on a whim while headed somewhere else was delighted by the maximalist decor with art and memorabilia everywhere I didn't have to wait for than 3 minutes for a table and tried the afternoon tea You get to pick your sandwich and tea and from a selection of scones and desserts. I chose the prawn sandwich, blueberry scone, and lemon drizzle cake with early gray tea (and black currant cordial because I wanted to try it) The prawn sandwiches are a must! The scones were ok; I have limited experience with scones but from what I've had in the past, these seemed a bit a dry but worked well with the clotted cream and jam The lemon drizzle cake was good although the icing might send you into a sugar crash later The staff are attentive and friendly but always on the move All in all, a great place to grab some tea and goodies

A visit to Effies of Perth for breakfast. What a treat it was! A beatiful eatery in the heart of Perth, with a feel of yester-year. Staff are so friendly, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. A vast array of food and drinks available to suit all taste buds. We both had a full Scottish breakfast and we were not disappointed. I like my food but struggled to finish everything on my plate. You will not go away hungry, that is for sure. A gem of an eatery in Perth!

This was probably our favorite restaurant experience the whole time we were in Scotland. The owner is incredibly kind and welcoming. The food was all delicious. The atmosphere is so cute. And the prices were very reasonable. I would come back here for afternoon tea in a heartbeat. Make sure to reserve a time in advance to get a table.

Effies was the HIGHLIGHT of our visit to Scotland. When you come in the doors, George immediately makes you feel like family. Everything inside is carefully curated and full of delicate details like various china cups and teapots. The food was SO good and we enjoyed all of the flavors of tea they offered. But the absolute BEST part was the carrot cake. When I tell you this carrot cake could solve world peace. It’s moist- sweet- somehow light and heavy and truly everything you want a piece of cake to be. We LOVED it and still talk about it to this day. Our server Carlie was a gem and was so welcoming and caring.George also gave us GREAT travel tips and shared stories with us. The town of Perth is so quaint and lovely. We enjoyed visiting the thrift shops and walking the streets. We went all 3 days in a row of our 3 day Perth trip! Do yourself a favor and add Effie’s to your Scotland visit- we think of it often and treasure our time there.

Best Victorian afternoon tea and Carrot cake I’m so glad I found Effies, the vintage decor, friendly service, huge portion, delicious food and very reasonable price ! I ordered the soup with full sandwich and chips. There’s a lot of sandwich filling options you can choose from, from tuna mayo to roast ham. I opted for beef and horseradish. I also tried the salmon and cream cheese one. They are great I personally prefer the beef. I also had Cullen skink here, it’s so delicious and such a huge portion, it’s super creamy, the best one I tried. 10/10 The mushroom soup is also great. They had many soup options that day as well. They have a big selection of tea here, served in vintage silver ware. Darjeeling and Assam tea are amazing here! Finally, star is the show, my absolute favourite, the carrot cake! You must try it, it’s so soft and moist, the cream cheese frosting is delicious, light. This is the best carrot cake I’ve ever tried! It’s their recipe for 25yrs! 10/10 The decor is amazing here, everything is so vintage and nostalgic. Super friendly service, love that it’s a family business. Everything is served quickly too. Effies is such a gem, totally worth the travel, make sure you book ahead, because it gets very busy!
