We came here for dinner after a long day of exploring the Golden Circle. I saw this place had been highly recommended online and I now see why. We pulled up to a charming dairy farm and easily found parking. Walked into the restaurant and ordered our food at the bar. We got fountain sodas and then sat at a table. We both got the plain cheeseburger which was very delicious, fresh, and cooked well. Fries were seasoned well! Once we finished we walked downstairs to the ice cream shop which had the creamiest most incredible homemade ice cream that I’ll think about for the rest of my life. Inside the ice cream shop there’s windows where you can see the cows. The ice cream is served on an edible chocolate graham cracker spoon. Souvenirs and gifts inside as well! Highly recommend!

Stayed 2 nights in a twin room here - bit of an odd set up but room was clean and quiet. Meals in the restaurant were same as everywhere else in Iceland - offering 4-5 kinds of burgers and pizza but also a beef and lamb dish. Very large portions. Sitting by a window you’re able to watch the cows eat. Unique. Homemade ice cream good.

It's a cute farm and restaurant located in Golden Circle. The food is great and the atmosphere is casual. The beef tastes fresh and delicious. You can also get ice cream downstairs as well. They have some unique Icelandic flavors as well. This is a great place if you want to bring your kids here.

Nice ice cream stop on the golden circle. Ice cream wouldn’t be worth a stop in itself, but brings in tourists with the unique selling point of being able to see the cows up close through a window in the shop.

Fresh, Flavorful, and Uniquely Charming This restaurant was a true gem! The farm-to-table food was absolutely delicious—fresh, seasonal, and full of flavor. The facilities were clean and beautifully maintained, creating a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. Even without kids, we loved the unique experience of watching the cows from our table—it added such a charming and authentic touch to the meal. Highly recommended!

We did not stay in the rooms just had lunch at the restaurant. Service is pretty much self service thus the 3 stars. The food was good but expensive but that is 99% of the locations in Iceland. There is a farm smell that some might not appreciate while eating but the views of the dairy parlor were cool and something new. Make sure to try their homemade ice cream downstairs.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Efstidalur Farm – Fresh Flavors with a Farm View Efstidalur isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a full Icelandic farm experience. Sitting by the large glass windows, you can actually watch the cows that provide the fresh milk for their famous ice cream. It’s such a charming, authentic touch that makes the meal even more memorable. The homemade ice cream is rich, creamy, and full of flavor — easily one of the best I’ve had in Iceland. But don’t skip the savory side of the menu! Their fresh Icelandic burger was juicy and perfectly cooked, and the steak was tender with a deep, rich flavor that only comes from truly fresh, local beef. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with friendly staff and a cozy, country feel. It’s a great stop along the Golden Circle for a meal that’s both delicious and deeply connected to the land it comes from.
