Eigen + Art

Not your basic gallery space. They always have very unique artists using new techniques and way of expressing art. Small but worth a visit!

The place itself is a bit small but full of air so it actually feels quite spacious. Receptionists are kind and welcoming. Definitely worth visiting. You won't spend much time there but will leave with great emotions.

A major cultural landmark lost in millennial fog. In our travels from Sydney we had left a day to visit Eigen in the old girls school berlin as we had done over the years. A mandatory check of the website...all as it was. "Gallery in former school" Our suprise..,gallery not associated with the old site...the front staff then sending us to the wrong site telling us the school had moved. We then waste hours finding the original site. Negligence...incompetence....hard to tell.

I visited the gallery with high expectations, but my experience was disappointing. I found myself met with dismissive attitudes and a lack of understanding from the staff. Felt unwelcoming. Snobbish.

An art fixture of Leipzig has a branch in Berlin. Friendly team, interesting exhibitions, recommended.

A reference for the Arts scene of Berlin and for the History of Art in Germany. A gallery that started in Leipzig and was an important point of reference during the years of the fall of the Berlin Wall. Today, Eigen Gallery exists in London, Tokyo, New York, Berlin, and more! The painter Neo Rauch started his career with the Eigen Gallery. Without a doubt, this place is special, an amazing space for the arts and a historical landmark at the same time!

One of the best local galleries, I've never been disappointed by the quality of the shows presented here. Come by if you want to see cutting-edge art from German and international artists. Also good to mention is to be sure not to miss there experimental space near by the gallery. The Eigen+art LAB
