A lovely overnight stay at this well established old school gem. Peaceful and relaxing. We were the only guests and were treated like royalty. The food was so delicious, we had lunch, afternoon tea with scones and cheesecake, dinner in the diningroom - lamb was yum yum yummy and so was the ostrich bobotie. Breakfast this morning had all the bells and whistles which is included in your stay. The staff are friendly, engaging and love what they do. The fire just for us in the lounge was wonderful as we sat reading. The arm chairs were so comfortable, I wanted to bring them home. Lovely escape in the country with top notch facilities. Do buy a bottle of their homemade marmalade- you will not be sorry. Our first visit ever and definitely will be back as it's "in our backyard". Ideal for couples, families and groups.

We had intended to stay in Mossel Bay whilst on our road trip to Cape Town but we were very glad to go slightly out of our way to stay at Eight Bells Mountain Inn. The hotel was way beyond our expectations and we have no hesitation in recommending it to people who are looking for old world charm but at the same time expecting modern amenities.

Aah, this place is just fantastic! The cleanliness, the food, and the staff service are all excellent. It has a unique historical background to it, which gives it such charm. There are also horses and a cute donkey to see. I'd return.

A lovely traditional type "old school" inn in beautiful, peaceful setting, Delicious food, attentive staff and everything you need for a relaxing breakaway from the hustle and bustle of life. The rooms are spotlessly clean but could do with a little update.

I treated my wife to a 5 day stay at Eight Bells fir her 71st birthday. As we stayed in the area in the '90s it was lively to see faces like Cornelius that we remembered from that time! Still one of the most beautiful settings im the country! Add to that the 1st class staff and you have the recipe for a magical experience! Thank you all so much for your "gasvryheid"!

My wife and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary here. A beautiful setting with the feel of being away from it all...but only 30km from Mosselbay! The staff is incredibly friendly and the food great. This is a real gem and we'll definitely go again.

We just went there for scones and tea on a Sunday morning. Beautiful surroundings. Biggest tree I have seen in a long time. Want to go on their walk routes soon.

The various hikes are great, well marked. Some steap inclines but good tracks. Saw proteas along the way. Not much shade, so bring hats and enough water.
