Eight Hotel Paraggi (Portofino, Italian Riviera) 3 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Just about everything at Eight Hotel revolves around the bay of Paraggi — and rightly so. This private bay on the Italian Riviera commands attention, with its sandy beach framed by dramatic, rugged cliffs. Eight Hotel’s location offers guests a rare sense of exclusivity that’s hard to fault. Yet, focusing solely on the water, sunsets, and views would risk overlooking the hotel itself, which certainly deserves its share of the spotlight." - Tablet Hotels

Eight Hotel Paraggi (Paraggi, Italian Riviera) 3 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Just about everything at Eight Hotel revolves around the bay of Paraggi. Of course, this private bay on the Italian Riviera merits the attention, encompassing as it does a sandy beach, surrounded as it is by soaring, jagged bluffs. Everyone knows the cliché about location et al., and it’s as true for hotels as it is for real estate. Eight Hotel’s location certainly bestows upon its visitors a sense of utter exclusivity that is tough to complain about. Yet focusing on the water, the sunsets, and the vistas threatens to neglect the hotel, which deserves its share of the spotlight too." - Tablet Hotels

Location is great - we stayed in the best suite of the hotel - view is fantastic - the Airconditioning of the room too cold and un adjustable- the jacuzzi was dirty including the cushions around it - the rate is too high compared to the service given Breakfast was great . This is definitely not a five star hotel! Something is wrong with the rating . We are now in a 5 star hotel what a difference in service.

Had a fabulous experience at this property. The weather forecast was horrible - sideways rain for 2 days. We were too late to cancel and I'm glad we didn't ultimately. Amanda the reservations manager upgraded our room - a nice gesture given we were not going to be spending more time there as opposed to being out touring around. The hotel is beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The food and drinks in the restaurant were excellent and the service there we received from Christiano was top notch. WE used the free shuttle to and from Portofino regularly. My only qualm is that they don't offer a similar service to Santa Margherita - a similar distance away - and as a result the taxi service took 30 minutes of waiting and cost a staggering 50 euros each way for a very short trip. But c'est la vie.

I found this hotel charming and beautiful. My family and I enjoyed the staff, breakfast, and the beach. A wonderful place.

This is not a 5 star hotel in my opinion —at best 3 stars - I booked the two story suite with a Jaccuzi that was not cleaned before we check in - the air condition is not adjustable - the safety box was not functional - the room cleaning and towels were very poor - they allege that they have a private beach but many other people from surrounding areas were standing and accessing the beach - most absurd I paid 2400 euro per night and when I asked permission to check out 2 hours late, I was asked to pay half day when the hotel was not even fully booked - barely empty - not recommended

We arrived with high expectations and were not disappointed. Beautiful boutique hotel in a stunning location. We had the most wonderful holiday and thank all the staff for making our stay so comfortable and enjoyable. This is a boutique hotel so the rooms are not huge but our deluxe room was very comfortable with a large terrace overlooking Pariggi Bay. I still hold the memory of my morning coffee sat on thst terrace overlooking the view. Two big bonuses are included..a bed on the beach with towels (beds are at premium cost at establishments either side of the hotel) and a shuttle service to Portofino during the day until 10:30 at night. The beach is sandy and lovely for swimming. We ate a couple of times in the restaurant and enjoyed the attentive service and food. Also the receptionists were happy to recommend restaurants nearby in Portofino which were excellent to. Santa Margherita is also not far away by local bus which stops virtually outside the hotel. |

First I need to say that the 5 stars rating is misplaced - this is a 3 star hotel in my opinion - I booked the two story suite at the hotel with the Jaccuzi - which was not cleaned- furthermore, the air condition temperature was cold and could not be adjusted - the safety box was not functional - the hotel has a very small beach which they allege is private but there are other people from surrounding public places that uses the water- we did not feel us private - house cleaning was terrible - most absurd - I paid 2400 euro for one night and when I asked if I can check out 2 hours late - I was told that they will charge me half a day - even though the hotel was not occupied - not recommended

Located on the most beautiful bay in Portofino, this hotel has an amazing location with breathtaking views. They have one of the best private beaches on this tiny coastline. The hotel restaurant is excellent, the rooms are clean and comfortable, the hotel spaces are gorgeous. The hotel, restaurant and beach club staff are all very helpful and attentive. The complimentary private car service will take you to and from the marina and shopping district of Portofino as many times as you would like. Surrounded by Dior and Langosteria this hotel is in an ideal location to stay.

A lovely small hotel with so much promise that sadly fell short. Ordering lunch on day 1 resulted in being told that 2 of the ordered dishes were not available...after a 30 minute wait, only then to be presented with the original order 5 minutes later (and after ordering alternate dishes). Interestingly, none of the Rose` wines offered on the menu was available. After this experience, other than a breakfast, we chose to eat at restaurants in Portofino.||The AC in one room did not work for the 3 nights we stayed at the hotel, and this was brought to the attention of the management, repeatedly. After an initial response, no action was taken and the manager subsequently `argued `in a follow up email that we kept turning it off, and it was due to us rather than a fault with the AC.||One bathroom had limescale and a fungal mould around the shower door. Happily, this `5 Star` hotel did not charge a supplement for these delightful extras......nor for the tired condition of some of the surfaces and woodwork. See attached photographs.||All of the staff who worked at the hotel were lovely and made every effort to ensure we enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, those who managed the hotel would benefit from some additional training. Given the issues we encountered and inadequate response from the management it seems unlikely the staff will get the support they deserve, or the hotel to be properly maintained to justify the star rating and room cost. A little training and effort would go a long way.||Also, we had to follow up the matters we brought to the attention of the management. Had we not, we would not have even received the courtesy of a reply, which eventually came one month after we left. Oh yes, almost forgot, there was not even the hint of regret or an apology.....||Definitely style over substance.....

Yelp
If the staff paid attention , this place would be fabulous. However for $1000 per night you'd expect the manager to call if you had a problem. Recently spent two nights there, and if I was looking for a sauna , this place is perfect . I called or went to the front desk no fewer than 8 times and was given an excuse each time. Upon checkout , and after a sleepless night, I left my info with the front desk. A Motel 6 manager would have returned the call.....but not in this place, they must feel as though they are too good.

Yelp
This hotel has the most amazing staff. I have never been felt so at home in any hotel anywhere in the world. They greet you with a smile and attend to your every need. They are genuinely nice and try their best to make your stay an amazing experience. The location is also wonderful.
