The food was outstanding, and we could not fault any of the dishes we ordered. Unfortunately, the service did not meet the same standard.
Our experience at The 86 in Woden was exceptional, with friendly, attentive staff who were welcoming, professional, and eager to assist. The Braddon venue, however, presented a very different experience. Clean plates or cutlery were not provided between shared platters unless specifically requested, and the staff appeared disengaged, offering no warmth or enthusiasm.
The floor manager’s interaction was particularly disappointing. When I enquired about the availability of bruschetta with balsamic, olive oil, and prosciutto—an option offered as a standard entrée at the Woden location—I was abruptly told, “No, we don’t do bread,” in a manner that made me feel uncomfortable and dismissed. Upon explaining that this was why I had asked, the response further conveyed impatience and condescension.
Credit must be given to the chef, as the food itself was exceptional. However, the service staff at this location would benefit greatly from improved professionalism and customer engagement. Additionally, the venue is quite noisy, which may not be ideal for those seeking a relaxed or romantic dining experience.
